Nuovo in Redbridge

I live very close by so its easy to pop around. Lunch has special meal its such value for money and with no exception all the staff are amazing. So many places serve different food on Lunch specials not here it wonderful . Thanks James your manager and all your staff. Not forggeting your chefs. Jan and Ronnie Joyce.

.. food is nothing more than average. There is a need to remodernize the menu, make it 2013 and make it attractive for the customers to come back again and again. It was OK, but nothing to get too excited about. Probably a little touch of fantasy would make this a much better overall place to eat.

Had the restaurant's set Christmas menu (£35). Starter was stuffed mushrooms - the sauce tasted like Heinz tomato soup and mushrooms themselves were tough. Had a main course of salmon and broccoli penne - I literally had two tiny sprigs of broccoli and next to no salmon mixed into a bowl of supermarket quality penne and a bland sauce. I could have made better at home. Others in the group had steak - really dry with no sauce. This felt like a restaurant that doesn't care about food, only about profit given the high price for poor quality. To make matters worse, our table ordered a couple of bottles of wine when we arrived. We had just begun our starters when a waitress interrupted us and gave us a bill for the wine. She insisted we had to pay for it right away and she would be back in 2-3 minutes to get payment. Apparently this is the restaurant's policy. Even if that's the case, it would have been nice to at least be allowed to finish our starters! Generally staff were semi-aggressive and the impression was they were understaffed and had taken on too much in terms of Christmas bookings resulting in stressed staff. We had booked to begin the meal at 8pm but did not receive starters until around 8.45 and main course until around 9.45. Shortly after, the lights were dimmed and an old 'crooner' was wheeled out to dispassionately blast out a series of karaoke 'classics'. He was ashen-faced and looked as though his soul had been destroyed by a life of Friday nights at Nuovo. Avoid.

Went for a Xmas work night out, food plastic, service dire, music far too loud. Overall a dreadful night out, there was an old duffer with a music machine churning out package holiday' music'
