Within Whickham's Community Gardens located off Whickham Highway is this "hidden gem" of a cafe. Great coffee, delicious cakes with a good selection to choose from. Friendly staff in a warm and welcoming environment. I'm looking forward to a return visit.

This cafe is in a lovely setting, tucked away in a beautiful community garden. I enjoyed a delicious flat white and chocolate brownie, but there was a large selection of sweet treats available. The service was very friendly, would highly recommend visiting!

This cafe has recently re-opened under new management and WOW what a difference! I always loved this place - an oasis in a secret garden - what a treasure. It is set off the main street and it's location is not obvious but it is well worth the effort, The Mars Bar brownie is the best sweet treat I have ever tasted and Zoe was a first class host. keep up the good work and I will defo be back.

We called at the Orangery for a light lunch. Its not so easy to find, tucked away up a little lane, but worth visiting as the garden although compact is lovely - and free entry. We were disappointed there was no cooked food, but the scone was good. My (pre-packed) pork & stuffing sandwich was a bit lacking in filling. Tea and coffee were good.

Just called for a light lunch. The orangery was very quiet when we arrived, but we got a great welcome. Unfortunately the cafe deosnt sell hot food, but the scone and pork sandwich were good, as were the tea and coffee.

Very disappointed this previously pleasant cafe is now a "sweetie shop". Still selling teas and coffees (slowly) in takeaway containers; but the focus is clearly now "takeaway".

This is a lovely restaurant to visit and was very handy for us as we were staying at the Holiday inn. Food was reasonably priced and portions were big. We ate two nights that we stayed and were not disappointed. Lovely food, good atmosphere and staff were great. This is a must if in the area. Usually in places like this with hotels nearby you are stuck with the usual chain restaurants - Brewers fayre etc… so we were pleasantly surprised!!

A fantastic little cafe in a perfect place for either walkers or to drive in for a drink or a lovely cooked sandwich. The people who run it are very polite and helpful and they keep a very clean and tidy cafe where everyone is welcome.
