I’m writing to express my dissatisfaction with our recent visit to OSMA restaurant. My party and I had made a reservation with the intention of enjoying the Sunday lunch menu, which we were eagerly looking forward to. However, upon arrival, we were informed that the Sunday lunch menu was unavailable due to the aftermath of Christmas, as they reportedly didn’t have enough stock and hadn’t offered that menu all week. While we understand that this could happen, we were very disappointed that this was not clearly stated on the restaurant’s website ahead of time. Especially when they charge £10pp deposit for the table for cases such as no shows and short notice cancellation. The Sunday lunch was the sole reason we booked our table, and if we had known it wouldn’t be available, we would have reconsidered our plans. After learning that there was no Sunday lunch menu, we decided to select a few starters and snacks from the regular menu instead. However, this led to a further issue: we were told that our £40 deposit (which was meant to cover no-shows) would still be charged because the restaurant expected a minimum bill of £200 for four guests. This felt unfair, as the choice of what to order should be left to us, the guests! We were simply not given the option to enjoy the meal we originally came for, yet we were still penalised for not meeting a certain spend. This was particularly frustrating since there was no indication on the website that Sunday lunch wouldn’t be available, and the lack of transparency left us feeling misled and disappointed. It seems unreasonable to impose such a charge when the menu offered didn’t align with our expectations or desires. Furthermore, I would like to request clarification within the restaurant’s terms and conditions regarding the deposit policy. Specifically, I am seeking information on where it states that guests will still be charged a deposit if they do not meet a certain spend per table. Overall, this experience has left us questioning whether we will return to OSMA in the future. We expected much more transparency and customer service, especially for a place that prides itself on high standards. Unfortunately, this visit did not meet those expectations

Extremely dissatisfied with the Christmas Day meal we had yesterday. The starter and the canapés were awful. The main course was just a glorified Sunday lunch with good filet steak - no imagination at all. The thin slices of turkey on one of our meals looked like they were out of a packet. For 125 pounds a head plus a 10% service charge I expected more. A pre-ordered 50 pound bottle of wine was uncorked at the table without being decanted or allowed to breathe. Tap water was poured into a part filled glass of bottled water. The staff looked bored and the rest of the diners looked like it was something they had to get through. No atmosphere whatsoever. Christmas Day spoiled This is the second poor visit in a row and I won’t be back. Previous review below. I don’t know what has gone wrong as it has been a must visit restaurant for us. Previous Review. We have dined many times at OSMA and always 5 Stars but today was somewhat disappointing. We had Sunday lunch with all the trimmings. I had beef and my wife had lamb. Both meats looked perfect but on eating were on the tough side and the lamb was very fatty. The vegetables were plentiful but the roast potatoes were small and hard and the rest of the vegetables seemed to be heavy in butter. Don’t get me wrong the food was significantly better than the average carvery but not up to the standard that OSMA has set itself. We will go again as our previous experiences have been fantastic but will probably hit the small plates menu next time.

We were really looking forward to going to OSMA. We arrived and ordered snacks, but . before I’d finish eating the starters were placed on the table. I was slightly surprised by the abruptness of the service and politely asked if we could have a little time in between the starter and main course. When the main courses were brought they looked very appetising. Unfortunately, the sauces on both dishes were extremely over-salted; so much so that salt was the only thing that could be tasted! So much for fine dining: we’d clearly got a chef who decided to let balance go to the wall. It was so disappointing, so we decided to forgo the dessert. Good luck.

We had been really looking forward to our first ever lunch at Osma based on Dani's appearance on "MasterChef: The Professionals" and the reviews on Tripadvisor and in the Michelin Guide. Our whole experience was even better than we anticipated. Not only was the lunch menu very appealing and the chosen dishes excellent in terms of creativity, presentation and flavour, but the service and ambience were fantastic. The welcome from Sofie was warm and charming, the service from Erin throughout was exceptional, and the brief conversation with Dani before departure was an extra bonus. We will return...

Another absolutely fantastic experience at this outstanding restaurant. My myself, my husband and daughter went for Sunday lunch with my 3 year old granddaughter and had the most sublime food. Nothing is too much trouble for these guys, even bringing my granddaughter a big bowl of ice cream while we were waiting for our mains. I could have eaten my chicken with a spoon, it was so moist! The sides of roast and mashed potatoes, cabbage and carrot with swede were all spectacular and the gravy was unbelievably tasty. It’s a real treat to come here and it’s fantastic value for money. Really attentive waiters that take the time to speak with you and give great recommendations when asked. Can’t wait to return!

Not usually one to jump straight on a review but I need to rave about this place. Every dish we had was absolutely phenomenal, We had the duck liver parfait, whipped ricotta, tuna tartar, pastry tart & the duck breast - all the dishes felt light, fresh and packed with so much flavour, all pretty familiar ingredients but executed to perfection. It's been a while since I've felt this satisfied with a meal out, I would go as far as saying this is one of my new favourite spots in manchester! Thanks so much to the staff for such a great service - we will definitely be back And good luck to Dani on Masterchef professionals!

Wow. Well this is a new favourite. It was a little anniversary celebration and we’re glad we came. From the minute we walked in it felt warm, welcoming and calm. The service from start to finish was amazing, the waitress was tentative, asked us if we enjoyed every dish before clearing and gave a fantastic orange wine recommendation. Dani and the team really have something special here. Seabass sashimi served halfway through our choices of small plates - very good timing as it was light, crisp and refreshing, it felt almost like a pallet cleanser that we needed. The lamb was cooked to absolute perfection served with an ever so salted satay sauce and tender lamb belly. Unreal. My partner said the oysters were “the best she’s ever had” and could really get behind how good quality they were. Every dish was explained to us, each element explained it felt very personal. All with punchy flavours and high quality cooking. We even stayed for another glass of wine at the bar because we were enjoying ourselves so much, only to be given a chocolate truffle as a little celebration for us both. This was delicious, not heavy at all but still very rich and silky. We enjoyed ourselves so much we have booked to return again whilst we were still in the restaurant. We can’t wait to come back!

Osma is our favourite restaurant. Small plates to die for with a menu that changes weekly and reflects seasonal changes. The food is incredible and the service is warm and welcoming. We’ve never had anything other than a brilliant time at Osma and never even a bad dish! Cocktails are fantastic, the brown butter old fashioned being an absolute favourite of mine. Great wine list too. If you’re looking for a Sunday roast there is no better. All the roast choices are perfectly cooked and served on your plate while the veg and trimmings are served family style for the table. Plenty to go round and so perfectly prepared, the veggies are every bit as delicious as the meat. Perfect roasties and huge Yorkshires that actually taste of something and not just a carrier for the gravy. Any day of the week is a good day to eat at Osma.

We’ve just had Sunday lunch at OSMA. The food, service and ambiance was excellent. The cost of the Sunday lunch for two including a small beer, soft drink, bottle of water and two coffees, was about the same price as one lunch at Rogan & Co in Cartmel. When we began going here, the restaurant had an assistant manager (Cant remember his name) - Super-pleasant guy from Merseyside, to whom nothing was too much trouble and his excellent service added to the overall experience - however he left and about a year ago the restaurant took on a new Assistant manager, Elese Finney, who previously was a waitress at Rendition - a restaurant in Manchester which went bankrupt after just 18 months - with lots of reviews of poor service.... so great credentials then... Since she joined, an atmosphere has descended the warmth of the venue has disappeared- on arrival We were taken to a tall table for 4 in the corner - but spotted a standard table for 2 by the window - when we asked if we could have that instead, Arron went to check - and was told by Elese - NO - that one is booked... Arron then took our order and made the same standard statement the 'We cook the meat medium rare / Pink here - is that ok for you..... yes, that perfect, just how we like it.. We ordered a drink each and a £44 bottle of Wine and the starters came - a superb Mushroom risotto and after finishing 30 mins had now passed and the high table was aggravating my bad back - yet the low table for 2 was still empty - and another had become available - but no offer for us to move - so we asked again and with a little eye-rolling we were 'permitted' to swap tables. The real problem began when the main course arrived - 1 X lamb - Well-Done and dry, not medium rare, and a beef which was pink - but with lots of fat - making it really tough to chew. we called Elese over and pointed out what was wrong (while also stating that we had never sent back food at OSMA previously ) and without even a hint of apology we were told..'Well you'll have to wait another 30 mins if you want lamb' - which we accepted. When the replacement food was brought to the table the beef was better - although a smaller portion - but the Lamb was now so rare it was raw and almost bleeding. By Now we had been in the restaurant almost an hour and we were both very hungry so my wife left the lamb and just ate a few of the accompanying veg. When Arron returned to clear the plates - he saw all of the lamb untouched and asked if there was a problem (no-one checked in with us previously) we explained that it was now so rare it was inedible. After ordering 1 desert, I asked for the bill - £118 for Sunday lunch for 2 - with the uneaten lamb dinner still on the bill - still the manager / Asst manager didn't come to the table to talk about the problems we'd experienced, so my wife approached Elese as we left and explained that the service we had received was very poor - to which she replied ' We served you 4 perfectly good meals today - which you chose not to eat - that's your problem not ours - see... the owners family are all there in the corner and had the same as you and said that their meals were perfect..." We were both taken aback by how shockingly poor the customer experience was. So here's the thing - Between 5pm and 7pm (Peak sunday lunch time) the restaurant was half empty (but a reservation system saying they are full) - I have read the tripadvisor reviews from the past 6 months and many mention the terrible service and attitude of Elese. It would be a terrible shame if OSMA followed Elese's previous employer Rendition - for the same reasons. We are also regulars at Hawksmoor in Manchester where in c20 visits, we have had 2 occasions where the food wasnt up to scratch (so 90% positive) but there handling of it was exemplary - removing the problem dish from the bill and comping the wine... did we go back... of course and we still do.... To Quote the great, late Gary Rhodes..." Great food will bring them through the door... but great service will keep them coming back' Well we wont be coming back - as good as Danielle's food is (normally) - its just not worth being treated this badly - there are too many other good options available where the service is simply not...Elese.

I have been going to OSMA since it opened and have had the pleasure of visiting the place numerous times over the past years(usually with my parents), throughout this time the food has consistently been excellent and the staff are professional, courteous and welcoming. The dining area and toilets are clean, the background music level is perfect(great for someone like me who experiences sensory overload) and the atmosphere is lovely. The menu today was incredible - my favourite savoury dish being the "Roast cauliflower with dill, lemongrass and pickled blueberry", The cauliflower was perfectly cooked and the sauce was sweet and punchy, OSMA is one of the few places which I look forward to trying dishes where vegetables are the main component(I'm usually a carnivore). The dessert was incredible, an: "Apricot and lavender Jam with fig leaf ice cream and caramel" - wow! this was an explosion of fragrance, sweetness and the texture was spot on. All of the dishes are top tier and It's amazing that Danielle and her team of chefs/cooks are able to craft such lovely dishes, you can tell that the passion and love is there. A big thank you to all the team who have waited on us, in particular: Sofie - you always make us feel welcome and part of the OSMA family(and you are extremely efficient), Elese - for your professionalism, kindness and diligence in checking everything is okay(You are a credit to OSMA) and finally Arron - love to be involved in his banter and his patience in explaining the dishes to me(I am very uneducated in regards to food and ingredients) Many places can deliver a combination of great service and food only once or twice out of numerous visits, the fact that OSMA has been able to consistently deliver a 10/10 experience the 10+ times I have visited is incredible and shows the passion, dedication and great work-ethic that the staff pour into this place.

A 5 star rating doesn't do OSMA justice. Between the food and service, OSMA achieve something so few restaurants ever do... Truly a perfect experience from the moment you step in the door. Every member of staff adorned with a smile, enjoying their job, taking care in the detail and sharing the love and passion they have. The chef and owner still cooks and did so they day we visited and the Sunday 3 course meal is a steal at just over £30 a head (not including drinks). Let me recommend the wild mushroom soup, which if I could steal the recipe for I would in a heartbeat! And one other thing, the value is incomparable as there is so much food here for £30 it's untrue! And this lovely restaurant is in the Michelin guide!!! Had the Sunday roast today. Sunday roast was really good, served as purely protein and the Yorkshire pudding and trimmings to share. The quality of the food was really good! For the price though, I’d have expected some more beef, that was a disappointing portion. The veggies stood out more that the protein, also, the size of the Yorkshire pudding was a bit small. Deserts were outstanding. Extremely decadent, rich and tasty. Both the honey pudding with custard and the local berry tart with ice cream - lovely balance of flavour! Note : I hate restaurants putting on assumptive service charges even if discretionary. Let customers decide if and how much they want to reward great service with.

I'll start by saying that my wife and I have been (semi) regulars to this restaurant over the past couple of years - Checked my bank account and we ate there 5 times in 2023. We have been big fans of the food - especially the Sunday lunch, which is usually presented really well and has a regular rotation of Inventive starters and deserts - all created by the incredibly talented Danielle Heron (Great British Menu). HOWEVER - Last Sunday marked our last ever visit to OSMA. We had a "lovleh" dinner experience at OSMA. The dishes are well presented and very tasty. It is clear that the produce and ingredients are of the best quality, and that there has been a lot of work put into the menu. Especially since it changes on a weekly basis (Wednesdays). We especially enjoyed the oysters, the sardines and the tagliolini with lobster. The coffee crème brulé was also a very good finisher. It also turned out that about 6 years ago we had a great experience in Oslo, in the very restaurant that the owners worked at earlier. Small world! Highly recommended experience. Next time we should try the tasting menu. Looking forward to it. Full score from us. Tusen takk skal dere ha!

A gorgeous dining experience from start to finish. Well thought out, from the time which the plates came out to the tantalising flavours. 100% recommend if you’re a foodie.

Sunday Roast fantastic as always, service exceptional too, Prestwich is very fortunate to have this establishment, we had the Pea risotto with the delicious cream cheese and truffle ,the lamb was superb, your fork just glided through it, It was like velvet, the vegetables and roasted potatoes were delicious and piping hot, and the gravy was sensational, finished off with a coffee caramel crème brûlée. Honestly I’ve never tasted anything so delicious. Thank you Osma and all the amazing team, your efforts do not go unrecognised. High praise indeed 👏👏👏👏

I have been to Osma many times, and the food is good overall The time we waited for the food was unacceptable. Some of the dishes were luke warm . The temperature of the wine was not cold enough . We did complain, but the attitude of the waitress was terrible. At no point during our evening did she say sorry for anything . If you complain about anything, you get short shrift. Customer service is key. This is an expensive restaurant and we expected better.

This was our fourth visit to Osma and, as on each previous occasion, we were delighted with the whole experience. The service was welcoming, friendly and helpful and the food was simply superb. Everything was delicious but, if we had to pick favourites, the seafood broth and the lamb were outstanding.

Didn’t enjoy our experience here at all. The food I’m afraid was not good but I’m giving a 1 star due to the service of the manager. Does not know how to deal with customers at all. Really does need some training as I feel sorry for the owners who are leaving there business to staff like this.

Booked in for Sunday lunch and got more than we bargained for in attitude. Ordered a two course meal with starters and mains. Starters were ok, mains arrived on sides plates - one beef one fillet beef. Both were as tough as old boots. Unfortunately after really trying to chew it I complained and sent it back. Our server did not once apologise for the issue nor did the other lady who seemed to be managing the establishment. When we relayed this to our server (Arron) that it’s usual for an apology he ran off talking about us to staff making us feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. Never in my almost 50 years experience has any other restaurant responded to a complaint like this. After reading similar reviews it seems this woman can’t deal with any criticism whatsoever. I would avoid this place like the plague as they obviously have a very high regard for themselves, with little compassion for its customers.

We have visited for Sunday lunch a while back after seeing Danielle on GBM, that was beautiful with finest cuts of meat and traditional trimmings. This time we opted for Saturday 3 course lunch and each course was even better than we expected when it arrived. My husband always opts for whatever cured fish is on the menu, finding it flavoursome and light. I went for cauliflower and truffle soup which was so smooth and beautifully paired with the sourdough bread (I’m northern and therefore must have dipping bread). He had skate wing and I had rump beef for main. The side of potatoes were so delicious I could have happily eaten a sack of them. I don’t know what wizardry Danielle does with potatoes but I will dream about those spuds for the rest of my life! The rhubarb tart had the most beautiful rhubarb sorbet alongside it, tempting to lick the plate. To be honest the place is so relaxed I could probably have got away with this without judgement. Everything else from the ambience, the exceptional service, the beautiful wine to smooth coffee was just perfect. Our new favourite place to eat, thanks for a great experience.

The menu consists of a list of small plates to be shared. We chose 8 for us two and it was the perfect amount. Bread and butter were nice. First few dishes were amazing. The fish tartar was divine and unforgettable. Tasted fresh. The lamb at the end was also very good. Not so great were the mushrooms tempura - we both felt they were too fatty, too rich and definitely missing the mushroom taste within all that. The potatoes were also too fatty and rich. This was something I wasn’t expecting in such restaurant so I was a bit disappointed. The lady who served us was amazingly nice and helpful. Cheers! The restaurant itself wasn’t that great: 1) our table was far too close to the next one leaving us both with no privacy at all. 2) it was far too dark so I could barely see what I was eating which ruins a bit the experience. We will return again and give it another opportunity though :)

A return to OSMA where we have had some excellent meals in the past both in Prestwich and at Exhibition (the space they share with 2 others) in Manchester What a great experience, every dish (yes I mean every dish) was truly excellent The service from Ellie was friendly attentive and informative without ever being over bearing, she is a real star!! To the food it’s hard to pick favourites from such a great choice, but I will say that the aubergine dish was ‘out of this world’ and the sashimi wasn’t far behind This restaurant is outstanding and for the quality of the food is at the inexpensive side of fine dining Thank you so much OSMA for a wonderful evening

Though the atmosphere and food were delicious our server was disinterest and 'too cool for school' We had previously been for a special lunch to osma and had the complete opposite experience so we were quite disappointed to be met with such indifference. That being said, the food cannot be faulted. Original, delicious and inspired.

High quality ingredients producing expertly created courses of deliciousness served by excellent friendly and professional staff. Its a shame we live in Cornwall but will look forward to visiting again soon I hope!

Michelin quality food on my doorstep, some say its Noma but in Prestwich, love it. I see the head chef, Danielle was competing in the TV programme The Great British Menu (2023) and she did really well. Keep up the good work.

I’d recommend the place to every of my friends just because it is exceptional. Their menu is updated quite frequently so the more you visit more surprises you will probably get. I love how they present one dish in layers of flavours as well as the combination of ingedients / sides that balance out perfectly or even uplevel the taste experience. I simply enjoyed their Tostada Tuna Tartare and Beef filet tataki with XO sauce the most this time - very impressive with the lingering aftertaste. Cozy ambience and attentive staff - all in all a great dining experience!

Visited Osma for dinner earlier this week as a birthday meal with my parents. When searching for a place to eat, would've thought we'd have to venture into the great city of Manchester to find a spot like this, so was pleasantly surprised to find this so close to home (less than 10 minute drive!) Ordered 10 out of the 13 sharing plates available on its weekly changing menu, for the 3 of us. I have fussy Chinese parents so was unsure if they'd appreciate the Scandinavian-inspired menu (no bowls of rice!), but they thoroughly enjoyed their food, as did I. Everything tasted great, fresh, and was distinctly inspired from dish to dish. Look forward to visiting again, perhaps next time for a Sunday lunch!

This venue is stylishly decorated & the service is fantastic. Overall I found the food to be generally excellent; the chicken Pate toast with gooseberries was delicate but sharp. The oysters were perfectly dressed. We had a raw egg yolk/fish tartare however that was far too rich & salty for the portion size given. I really think it would have benefited from being served as a tasting spoon instead.

We went on Saturday night to try the dinner menu and ordered a set of small plates. They were all excellent. I don’t even know which one was my favourite! But the tuna tartar, pea risotto, tempura, and the lemon sole were absolutely amazing. Do not miss the orange flavoured white wine from Mendoza Argentina. It significantly enhanced our experiences, highly recommended! The service was attentive, knowledgeable abs kind. The atmosphere also provided a relax and mellow environment. The music played was also the right volume (hate it when some places are so loud you just want to leave!) We will definitely be back very soon.

I’ve been to this Nando’s before and it wasn’t great but was a while back so decided to give it another go today. Food was not the best, the halloumi cheese was undercooked so had to ask for it to be on the grill for an extra minute. The chicken was a bit pink too but just eat around that as didn’t want to ask further. Service wasn’t too bad. Atmosphere was like most Nando’s, fine. Food just not the best.
