Great service, some of the best I’ve had in a long time. Food is good but too expensive for what it is, we were surprised to have spent £100+ per person incl drinks and I wouldn’t return for that reason given Indian food can be great at a fraction of the cost.

Love the lunch thali, the variety it comes with and the delicious flavours too. The flaky paratha is a perfect match. A small dessert and potentially lesser mains in the thali would make it perfect. Great service, Def recommend.

I have had great Indian food in India and elsewhere, but this is bar none the best. The dishes from the tandoor in particular were amazing, the chicken, broccoli and artichoke, as well as the Aubergine Bharta were so tasty. The chicken curry was really great too. This was a whole new level of culinary enjoyment.

Really delicious meal at Pahli Hill, with wonderful service from all the team. The chefs looked like they were really enjoying themselves, and it showed in the food, which was so flavoursome. A particular thanks to the sommelier who went out of her way to talk us through the origins of the different wines, recommend a delicious orange wine, and then to finish the meal off, shared with us a special bottle that had been opened that day, as she could tell we were interested. We will certainly be back again, and next time will save space for dessert!

Spent New Year’s Eve at Bandra Bhai, and it was an incredible experience! The vibes were electric, with a perfect mix of festive energy and classy charm. The drinks were outstanding, crafted to perfection with bold and balanced flavours. The staff were warm and hospitable, adding to the lively atmosphere and making the night truly memorable. Bandra Bhai is the perfect spot for amazing cocktails, great energy, and an unforgettable night out!

When we are in London we don't miss dining here. Excellent food, it feels like being in Mumbai, attentive and knowledgeable chef. Excellent service. For me, who loves Indian cuisine, I find flavors and culinary experiences here that are difficult to repeat in other restaurants. I highly recommend it

Absolutely would recommend. Food was so flavorful and delicious. Of the five Michelin restaurants my husband and I did in London the past four days, this was my husband's favorite. Had to pick a last minute Saturday night dinner and this place, thank God, had a spot open. Was fantastic. He really enjoyed the pork shoulder.

I visited this place yesterday, on my birthday after reading some raving reviews about the place. We placed the order for starters (Chicken Tikka and Papdi Chat), and a Sholay Martini. The martini was really bad, extremely bitter and the chicken was undercooked. We also felt like we were rushed by the service staff during this process, they were in such a hurry to get to the next thing. Nevertheless we left after the starters and resumed our dinner somewhere else. I am unsure who really thinks this place deserves a Michellen star, or is a hidden gem because there is a reason its not been discovered yet and you haven't actually had Indian food at some of the amazing places that London has. I will not be visiting again, neither will recommend anyone!

We had an amazing time at Pahli Hill! The food was delicious and very innovative, the service is just amazing, they went above and beyond to find us the table at the last minute! Finally we had a chance to be seated at the chef's comptoir and had his recommendation of the menu! You should all run to book a table there before they get a Michelin star, which in my opinion will happen soon!

Very happy with the excellent service, courteous staff, awesome food and warm decor! The biriyani was the high point along with the carrot halwa with ice cream 👌🏻👌🏻

Quite a sublime meal from start to finish...with almost every course a total delight. Set lunch is ridiculously good value. Spicing is so intelligent with layer upon layer of flavour. We had the kebabs and crab to start. Then the dosa and quail. Both amazing. Quality of ingredients shone too. The deserts were a revelation...one of the best chocolate ganaches I had anywhere and carrot and saffron halwa was delish. Service so kind and informal. Will be back

High quality food all around, great service and atmosphere as well. Had the Homestyle Chicken Curry, Papadi Chaat and Cone Dosa. Curry and Dosa were good, but I really recommend the Papadi Chaat!

Food is okay okay, but the rice is overcooked and broken. It's supposed to be long-grain rice. And once we finished the main course, just about to leave, then suddenly the harabhara kebab arrived, which we ordered as a starter.

Group of 5 downstairs. First, the attention, friendliness and service from both our waitress and the bar man were outstanding. Sorry I didn't get your names, but thank you. The food was banging, pretty much every dish. And good enough value sharing between 5 for the quality. Small plates are a little larger than expected. Chicken Tikka, Crab starter, Veal shin and Fish curry probably top the list. Personally, I think the food trumps the likes of Trishna and Gymkhana. Highly recommend.

Well, well, well! What a delightful & exciting new restaurant in St John’s, Woking of all places! From the very warm welcome as we walked in the front door to the moment they waved us goodbye the experience was genuinely 5 stars! A unique take on Mumbai Street food yet also with some familiar ‘Indian/English’ themes coming through makes it fresh and new but keeps us connected with the great dishes we grew up with. The ingredients were clearly well sourced as everything was A-Grade in flavour, freshness & tenderness. The little complimentary touches at the start and end illustrate an attention to detail often only experienced at posh A Lister venues in London/New York/LA. Quality over quantity was also very welcomed as it enabled us to try a few different dishes off the well constructed menu. We had 2 lamb dishes (one mild one extra spicy), king prawns in a sweeter coconutty blend and the fluffy white breads and rice. Head chef came out for a genuinely friendly and insightful chat about his creations and the stories behind them. What a gem! I rarely give 5 stars but if we could give 6 this would definitely be the restaurant that gets them! Please go and see for yourself. Stunning.

Really nice atmosphere and good food! The papadi chat was a perfect explosion of flavours and textures. The waitress was very attentive and provided detailed explanations of the menu items.

Honestly 10 out 10 meal, it was so delicious I can’t wait to come back. I’ve been to Trishna, Gymkhana, Dishoom, Hoppers, Brigadiers and honestly this meal competes with those well established names. And yet it offers something slightly different and unique I thought. 2 of us shared about 5 dishes, a combination of smaller and bigger plates. Everything was delicious, particularly the chicken curry. Staff were adorable and had good recommendations and also good banter so very thankful for their great service. My only negative point is that I thought it was a touch too expensive given we paid 160£ for two although we had two beers each. For that price I would still rather go to Trishna but wouldn’t take anything away from how tasty this restaurant is. Conclusion: highly recommend and will come back.

Best indian restaurant in London!

Absolutely fantastic restaurant, we did the chef's counter experience for a birthday (for the second time, it's that good) and all the food was incredible, chef Avi is great and explains all the dishes to you and is happy to answer questions and have a chat with you. You get to see him finishing off each dish and checking it before it goes out. It's well worth the money as the amount of food you get is ridiculous, we had to take some home as we couldn't finish it. Every dish was amazing, but my stand outs were probably the crab sukkha, kulcha, dosa and the mussels. The chicken tikka is the best I have eaten anywhere and the lamb is cooked so well - I don't usually even like lamb, but this was delicious. The service from all of the team is attentive but not overbearing, Kamal was great and very funny. I highly recommend this restaurant, probably my favourite Indian I've been to. Thanks to all the team & we will definitely be back.

Absolutely delightful! Pahli Hill’s menu offers a variety of flavours, both in food and drinks. The portion sizes are very generous as well. The Bandra Bhai bar, where we were seated has a great ambience, with friendly staff to top it off. As a vegetarian, it’s often challenging to find a fine dining experience that justifies the price. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fine dining spot in London!

Fast becoming one of my favourite restaurants in town. I genuinely think this might be the most underrated restaurant in London. Imaginative food and bursting with layers of flavours. If you haven’t been, you’re missing out.

A wonderful restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere, yet the decor is refined and elegant. The food was excellent, and the service was warm and attentive—our server was especially kind.

Avoid at all costs!! Restaurant was so incredibly noisy and loud that my ears were ringing after we left. It was impossible to have any meaningful conversation because nobody at our table could hear the person next to them. Had to yell loudly to get service (staff were kind but they simply couldn't hear us.) Cocktails were good. Desserts were way too sweet. Inedible. Rest of the dishes unmemorable. Food was slightly overpriced but this seems to be the norm for whitewashed Indian food.

Firstly for a restaurant of its class, there were several issues. - the restaurant was very noisy, poor liting. We struggled to see what we were eating. - dining experience is enhanced when one can use all their senses. - we waited 15 min for someone to give us the menu and had to ask three times for a wine menu. - The starter (Mangalore bun) was served cold. There should be a better quality check at service. - we waited 45 min between the starter and the main course being served. - Dosa was not crisp and served to the standard an Indian restaurant should be serving - despite highlighting the above to the server, and we told a manager would come and speak to us, he did not come until we settled the bill.( we did not hold back the gratuity) - there should have been some gesture for the poor quality offered. Please avoid, there are better places with better dining and food quality in London.

It’s a real shame that this restaurant experience is ruined by being far too noisy. Had a table for 6 birthday celebration. The food was delicious, friendly and professional staff. But we could not have any group conversations because we literally couldn’t hear each other. Ordering with the staff was frustrating as we’d all have to repeat ourselves as couldn’t hear each other. The general feeling was one of frustration and exhaustion. It just felt like a real downer. This could surely be resolved with sound absorbers on the ceiling, some curtains / wall hangings, and table cloths. I won’t be going back for now.

Called me an hour before we were meant to eat at our reservation time saying that they didn’t have the table as they had overbooked. On a Saturday night which is very inconvenient. No apology offered.

The seabass is a favourite - I drop by whenever I’m in London just for the seabass. This time, I brought my wife and a friend. We ALL ordered the seabass - thankfully it was as great as ever and we all enjoyed it tremendously.

Epic Indian. Not cheap but totally worthwhile!

Best Dosa and Thali Fish in London. Portion is humongous and ingredients are superb. Fish is wild halibut, and those who know quality should appreciate hallibut.

We enjoyed a spectacular meal. The food was interesting, flavorful, fresh and exciting. The staff were attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. The Papadi Chaat was the standout of the meal, don’t miss it.

the food was pretty good, the lamb biryani was very nice, super tender and flavorful. the chicken tikka masala was a little too salty & the chicken curry was a little bland. though the free starter they gave was very delicious. however, the service did not feel very friendly at all and we felt very rushed. wouldn’t really recommend it as the food is very pricey but not worth it.

I recently got very obsessed about the Michelin's Guide list of restaurants in London that have a Bib Gourmand status and that's how I found out about this place as I hadn't seen any foodie influencers promoting it and none of my friends knew this place either. As a massive foodie and a lover of Indian food, I naturally had to come try it out and see what my own verdict would be. I made a reservation in advance with 3 friends for a Thursday night for an early birthday celebration. It's not too busy at 7pm and I absolutely loved the interior design. We got seated downstairs and I fell in love with the vibes instantly. It's got the old school Indian pictures and posters to give a retro vibe but it's also kinda of giving a modern stylish finish at the same time. The staff was super attentive and friendly. When I told them one of my friends had a gluten allergy they immediately went away to scrap off a few items on the menu and clearly flagged to us what we shouldn't order to avoid those dishes. We took some time to decide because the entire menu looked amazing but the staff member never once rushed us. In the end, we went for the summer chaat and the mengalorean bun with crab sukkha as starters, switching out the bun for some gluten free Indian style pancakes. They were absolutely fluffy and soft and the crab sukkha was so flavourful and not seafood-y and got a really good kick to it. The summer chaat was absolutely fantastic, one of my personal biggest highlights of our whole dinner I must say. It's so refreshing with the honey figs and peaches. We also ordered the tandoori chicken tikka which was so juicy and tender and well-marinated. We were off to a great start. For mains, we had the saag paneer and fish curry with lamb biryani and a sourdough roti on the side. Again, everything was absolutely delightful. Didn't know spinach puree could have so much flavour and the fish was so tender it basically melted in my mouth. Curry was rich and not overly spicy and the lamb biryani had a good amount of lamb meat in it. The sourdough roti was flaky and fluffy and well-made, went well with the curries. For dessert, we ordered the signature carrot halwa vanilla ice cream which was the absolute highlight for me in the entire meal. I have never had something quite like this before! It's almost like an elevated carrot mash with crushed pistachios sprinkled all around the vanilla ice cream to give it a nutty flavour and crunchy texture. And the flavours were so pleasant they just all worked so well together it's basically like a symphony in my mouth! My friends and I had the best time in this restaurant thoroughly enjoying our dinner and we all agreed that this was probably one of the best modern Indian restaurants we have ever had in London! I will be sure to come back very soon to try the other menu items :)

El servicio de Rosemary era ejemplar, Kamal nuestro camarero era encantador. Pedimos una excelente botella de vino tinto 2017 Chateau Hostens - Picant, Saint Foy. Los entrantes fueron paleta de cerdo Coorg de y calamar frito Pondicherry con un delicioso pan que estaba delicioso y ligeramente carbonizado para un sabor adicional. The best Indian meal I have had. Great attention to detail. Unique versions of famous dishes. The palak paneer was outstanding and my favourite of all the excellent dishes. Warm and friendly staff who knew all about the menu. Thoroughly recommend you try it!

Thanks very much for helping put together a large group for my birthday. The space was good for our group though in the middle of the place we may have been noisy for others! The staff handled a group our size very well and I think we ordered about the right amount and range. Food was overall great and every one was talking about it with some interesting and slightly different offers (summer chaat). The price overall was on the high end though with some reasonably priced decent wines, but this was a treat. With that in mind, some dishes were not as great as others. The coorg pork shoulder was my favorite. The cocktail bar was closed for an event so there was a limited cocktail menu but what we had was good. Nice to have a chat with Chef Avi after. Will be back with others for the counter menu!

A real shame that the greed and lack of ethics of management in attempting to get clientele to pay a service charge twice undermines the excellent food and service. The prices are high - why do you and other restaurants attempt this scam? Is Michelin aware?

La camarera trató de explicar que el cargo por el servicio fue a otro personal y que la propina reflejaba lo que pensaba del servicio. Even by London standrads, you need to be fairly loaded to enjoy a meal at Pahlihill Bandrabhai Restaurant. The portions are reasonable, but yet, not quite commensurate with the pricing - again, even by London standards. If the price includes the high standrad of friendly, efficient and caring service staff, if it includes the open kitchen system which ensures a very high order of safety in food handling and preparation, well, I am willing to concede, they have a right to charge what they do. May be it is the retiree in me that hurt a bit when the bill came! The atmosphere is nice and cozy, and the place is child- (in my case, grandchild) friendly. They have a cloak room facility, which is very convenient.

I was here last week with my parents. The lady at the desk pretended to “look” on the screen before refusing a table saying there is nothing available. Half the restaurant was empty and not sure what she was “looking” at if they were fully booked out. Also, did I mention, she was brown herself!

Visited on a Monday evening, the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. We were served by Kamal who was very personable and explained the menu to us. His friendly and attentive service was noticed and appreciated. He recommended the pork shoulder and dhal which we loved. The bar downstairs was beautiful and cosy. Will definitely be back!

Excellent meal and very good service, the booths are comfortable and the ambience is superb. No loud music, you can go with a group of friends and family and enjoy each other's company! Also good for couples. The kulcha stands out for me but there's dishes to suit every taste.

Unbelievable food. The best Papadi chaat and cheesecake I've ever had. We also had the lamb biryani which was melt in the mouth and incredibly flavourful. The aubergine bartha was also a highlight. I wish I took more photos!

If you’re looking for a special treat and you’re in the mood for some southern Indian cuisine, then you gotta come here! We had one day left in London before flying home to Los Angeles and my daughter had a craving and suggested we try this place! On short notice, we were able to grab a late seating at 7:45pm and this place was still hopping with locals having a grand old time! Kamal was our server and he was quite knowledgeable of the dishes and had some wonderful recommendations that we were lucky enough to have followed. We were hungry and adventurous so we tried a little bit of everything. Of all the items we tried and loved, a few items really stuck out! You MUST order these! 1. The Summer Chat is a must as it was a refreshing salad with delicious tomatoes, burrata cheese and cantaloupe! 2. The Flaky Flat Bread-Hot & Delicious 3. The Grilled Asparagus-Very Flavorful 4. The Mangalore Bun & Crab Sukkha (Be sure to tear the bun and stuff crab in it to experience ultimate “Boss Level” taste! 5. Lamb Rump-Cooked to Perfection! 6. The Pahli Hill Chicken Tikka-Yummy! 7. Saag Paneer-Ties Everything Together 8. For Dessert: Carrot Cake “Halwa” with Ice Cream 9. Also for dessert: Mango Cheesecake Kamal was a great server. He was quick, efficient and with a sharp sense of humor. I feel that without his suggestions and honest opinion, we wouldn’t have chosen some of the dishes….we would have completely missed out! I had an absolutely wonderful evening at Pahli Hill, celebrating my 60th birthday. We were lucky enough to be served at the Chef's Counter, and everything about the evening was truly memorable. Avi and his team were so friendly and welcoming, and happy to talk through the dishes and explain what they were doing. The cocktails and the food were without exception beautifully presented and the flavours were fresh and amazing. Thank you so much again for a hugely enjoyable evening.

Best Indian food I’ve ever had! The padadi chaat, and chicken curry are a must try! The ambience was a tad bit cluttered and load at times due to the acoustics of the building. So try to sit down stairs if possible. Overall I would recommend this 10 times out of 10! There is a reason they are recognized by The Michelin Guides!!!

We were craving for dosa since months. Have eaten it in many restaurants across London but didn’t like it that much!! We had the best dosas here at Pahli Hill. A huge crispy dosa, with delicious sambhar, potatoes and two chutneys. Everyone were so friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. Mango cheesecake was perfect, delectable!!I must add for me personally, when we sat down the server asked us - if we wanted water on our tables (never in London I have been asked this) he also got ice cubes and lemon slices. So it felt like India, thanks so much to him for being this nice and a good server. Although it was pricey, it was all worth it at the end. I would highly recommend it to others I know. Thanks so much for your hospitality, amazing food and great staff.

Really delicious fresh and authentic Indian food (not a 'curry house'). Good value set menu for lunch. Would definitely go back.

Amazing cocktails, great food but noisy and cramped. The cocktails are great and make sure you ask for the Bandra Bhai menu if you are dining in the restaurant upstairs. There are some exclusive choices in this and would particularly recommend the Yuzu. The food is also great but maybe could do with some more vegetarian options and clearer marking of them. Not very vegan friendly. The space is quite cramped and so it gets very very loud! Difficult to hold a conversation at peak times.

Stumbled into this place at 8 pm with clients after a work event and no booking. Staff bent over backwards ro make us feel welcome, service was great and the quality of food was exceptional. Every dish was faultless, cracking place I couldn't recommend highly enough. We will definitely be back

Wonderful dishes prepared in traditional ways. We had a group if 6 and shared starters and main dishes. Veal, chicken, squid, and more. Curry was very well prepared. Biryani was well done as well. Also had a hibiscus tea that was extraordinary. The carrot halwa was amazing.

Went a couple years ago when this place was new and wasn't disappointed: decent Indian fare 😋

This is a quirky underground cocktail bar in Fitzrovia modelled as a tribute to Indian smugglers of the 70s. The walls are full of giant portraits of shady looking men but the place also has a nice cosy vibe. There is live music in the evenings which was really nice. I thought that the food was better than the cocktails. Overall, it is a cosy cocktail bar with an interesting vibe and great food.

Excellent staff and service all around. The drinks were tasty and well crafted. Our dinner was absolutely delicious. This place is a gem. I will be thinking about this meal for many years to come.

I went to Pahli Hill for lunch with some friends more than a year ago, but I noticed that some of the dished in the lunchtime special tasted much better when I went back yesterday. There was also a greater portion size. Ali's service was also very good. Thus, perfect score.

We were looking forward to the cocktails but turned out to be a let down as they tasted like syrup & lemonade, food was over priced and tasteless, this was not your authentic Indian food! I am sorry but the whole evening was a let down
