Went midweek for lunch and tried the new set lunch menu. The food was delicious, I would particularly recommend the squid, possibly the best squid I’ve ever had! I’m pescatarian and often don’t have enough options but there are plenty of great vegetarian and seafood dishes. Service was attentive and the restaurant is beautiful. The decor is very opulent!

What a wonderful meal at Park Chinois! I went with friends to try the new weekday set lunch menu — great value at £29 for two starters and a main with soup and rice included. We got to try almost everything and loved it all, especially the har gau, kailan and crispy duck rolls. We were really impressed with the inventive vegan options. The interior is lush, so opulent! And the service was impeccable. We will be back!

No recomendaría Park Chinois y no volveré.

I recently visited Park Chinois in London with my best friend for what we hoped would be an evening of fine dining and memorable entertainment. While the ambiance and live band, especially the talented piano player, set a delightful tone for the evening, the overall experience was profoundly disappointing due to the food quality and subsequent health issues we encountered. To start, we were greeted warmly and seated near the band, which provided a fantastic atmosphere. However, the positives ended there. After dining, both my friend and I experienced severe food poisoning symptoms, including vomiting and upset stomachs. These health issues not only raised serious concerns about food safety but also disrupted our plans for a Christmas party the following day. Additionally, the service, though polite, was poorly managed. We waited 50 minutes for our mains, despite specifically requesting that all dishes be served together as we were sharing. Instead, the dishes arrived at staggered intervals, disrupting the flow of our meal. As for the food itself, it was underwhelming at best. The rice with chicken and prawns tasted off and was served cold, as was the satay chicken. The braised supreme seafood, while at least served hot, was poorly portioned and overpriced, consisting mostly of vegetables with only minimal seafood—hardly what one would expect from a venue of this caliber. Following this, I reached out to the restaurant via email to express my concerns but received no meaningful acknowledgment or apology. For a restaurant with such a prestigious reputation, this lack of accountability is deeply disappointing. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Park Chinois and it is better to go somewhere, where you can have a decent meal with fresh food along with live entertainment!

It grieves me to have to be negative as the place looked beautiful when we first arrived. We like glamorous yet funky surroundings and so we were impressed by the decor and warmth of welcome. There were few guests in the restaurant but it was only 19:30 so it was early. The music was funky but subdued and appropriate. We really enjoyed the beginning of the experience. The main waiters were fine but I found the sommelier to be strange individual. He ‘sort of’ took our drinks order but it wasn’t clear if he had as he didn’t look at us and didn’t write anything down! I had to ask him if he was listening. Following our aperitif nobody asked if we would care for a refill but we had to ask. Not good in a top London restaurant. The food was excellent as was the wine. But - and it’s a big ‘but’ - everything deteriorated with the appearance of the MC for the start of the cabaret. The MC was an odd man who was very very tall and clearly viewed himself as having funny bones but sadly he was deluded. He began by pretending to swat a fly in an unfunny ‘comedy’ routine which we found deeply embarrassing. The remaining acts ‘went through the motions’ without any sign of a smile or glimmer of enjoyment! Very mechanical. The female vocalist was very attractive but had a rasping voice which jarred. The volume of the background music which was initially very pleasant was gradually increased until it was deafening. We had to leave the restaurant itself as the noise was impossible to take! We decided to go upstairs to the bar for a final drink. In the bar we were ignored and after waiting for a while decided to leave. As we were leaving, one member of the reception staff (who had greeted us warmly on first arrival but who could see we were departing) changed her manner completely and looked right through us. It felt as if, once we had paid the bill and they’d got our money, we could take a jump! Won’t be back in a hurry!

Park Chinois is an absolute rip-off. Every dish we ordered was very fishy and soupy. The entertainment is a bit of a joke, the bizarre experience is there just to try to justify their outrageous prices. Incredibly expensive for the quality of the food. I do not recommend it.

When you’re in London and you pay at least 150 pounds/person + service= 175 pounds you expect much more than a decadent show, a wannabe cabaret. The food was ok, the personnel did their best but the whole concept (no dress code, no glamour, prices sky high for no reason whatsoever, “coincidentally” full of men playing with their mobile phones, low level male performers, the ladies a bit better) made this a SABENA experience: Such A Bloody Experience Never Again as by the joke that was used for the airline once. It’s definitely a failure as a choice because in London you can really spend much better 175 pounds in two hours. (With a cover charge of 25 pounds/person too!!)

Park Chinois in Mayfair offers a luxurious dining experience, blending traditional Chinese cuisine with opulent décor. The atmosphere, reminiscent of 1930s Shanghai, is both glamorous and intimate, complemented by live jazz music. Signature dishes like the Peking Duck are flawlessly executed, with crispy skin and tender meat, while the dim sum is delicate and flavorful. Service is impeccable, and the extensive wine and cocktail list perfectly complements the meal. Although it’s a high-end spot with a premium price tag, the exceptional food, service, and atmosphere make it a memorable experience worth the splurge.

I was a bit hesitant to book the table here after reading the reviews, but my friend who had been to Park Chinois before convinced me it’s a must and she was right. The whole experience was glorious. We enjoyed the atmosphere, beautifully designed interiors, great music selection and splendid entertainment. When it comes to the food - I think this is the least astonishing part of the evening- not that it’s very bad, it’s just not very good either. It’s also a pity the visit is limited to 2 hours, as we wanted to have another bottle of wine. However if you’re lucky, you may continue the evening in the bar upstairs, with high-end, live performance.

I recently visited Park Chinois, and I was blown away by the experience. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was luxurious and captivating. The staff were exceptional. They were attentive, professional, and ensured that every need was met without being intrusive. Their knowledge of the menu and recommendations enhanced the experience even further. What truly set the evening apart was the live band. Let me start by saying, the decor and design is gorgeous- but I wouldn’t go here if you’re all about food. My friends and I were met with pleasant hosts, very polite and welcoming. We had been offered a lovely, spacious, corner table, though our view was restricted slightly by pillars so we couldn’t see the entertainment as clearly. In general, the energy and atmosphere of the venue certainly made us feel elegant. The food service was prompt, and the dishes on the menu seemed decadent. We noticed that the dishes themselves did not come with sides, like rice or noodles so remember to order those separately. My friends chose the Szechuan chicken, the satay chicken, one of the wagyu beef dishes and I chose the lamb cutlets. The sides we ordered were fried rice and spicy noodles. For a Chinese style restaurant, we were very disappointed with the flavours. Most dishes (as we shared) had one note of flavour running through. There was no depth or dimension to the dishes and some were just overpowering with one nuance. Even the dim sum flavour was bland, which we had gotten as a starter. The wine we chose to taste off the menu was lovely, so I would recommend getting a few starters and wine at this particular place, perhaps on a date night. The food aside, the immersive entertainment was fantastic. The shows ran every 15 mins and as we went on the 2nd November, they were Halloween themed. We had characters walking around coming up to our tables and interacting with us, which was impressive. While the wait staff were generally lovely, they seemed a bit overwhelmed. Two of my friends had ordered mocktails, and we had ordered an extra portion of rice but these never came but they did not add these to the bill either. I would recommend being very clear with the order when the staff come to take it down. I would visit here again, but only for the entertainment and maybe a few drinks.

This was my first time here, despite being an adopted Londoner since 1992. This venue transports you to a different era, a cross cross between an opium den, the film set of In the mood for love , or a decadent boudoir in the East. No matter what you feel, it is an experience, impeccably supervised by Lorenzo, a manger so smooth, competent, and present, that you wonder how does he manage to do that with such a demanding clientele. The music was from Giacomo Moras, a very young and talented DJ, also part of Beating Cells, and, together with incredible performers, the whole team manages to pull off an incredible, memorable, evening. The cocktails are extremely good, we had the Yuzu and honey and another 2 or 3 that I do not recall the name of ( oops). All together, a must for any type of special occasion, or if you want to impress someone. This was a Wednesday night and the pace was packed, so, if you manage, do book ! Enjoy !

We were not offered our coats to be taken, we were seated in our winter coats inside of the restaurant and had to ask for them to be taken into the cloakroom. I had something black in my glass with water. It looked like bits of ashes from a cigarette or something I don’t even know. They changed my glass but didn’t even apologise. Waiter just shrug his shoulders. We asked another waiter if main courses come with any side like a rice or noodles, French fries or anything and she said no as portions were already coming with “everything that is needed” therefore we don’t need to order any additional sides. The next thing you know food comes without any sides and another waiter ask us if we want to have a rice on a side for the dishes. Thankfully we don’t have to wait for a long time and the food didn’t get cold but staff should know their menu better and be able to advise guests as follows. Overall atmosphere of the place is amazing and live music was great! Good very delicious but I just wish staff was a bit more attentive. When we asked to remove service charge due to disappointment with a few things with the service, they didn’t ask for a reason what can be improved etc. This is unfortunate as the place looks great and has delicious food.

Came in on Monday night as my friend has wanted to go for ages. Very friendly staff and great service, the decor is good although my OCD couldn’t stop looking at the drapes - they were all uneven! The singer had a lovely voice and sung some great songs. There is a dress code of no sportswear and yet half the customers were wearing trainers. Why have a dress code if you’re not going to enforce it?it brings the standard of the establishment down. The food was very average unfortunately. The starters of Szechuan chicken, salt and pepper squid and dim sum were all hot, fresh and delicious. The mains of Cantonese roast duck and king crab were both very poor. I am absolutely convinced that the duck was leftover and reheated as the skin tasted burnt, the meat was dry and it wasn’t very hot. The orange sauce was so acidic and it was completely unbalanced. The king crab dish was also poor, served with a weird garnish that didn’t really taste nice. The portions were small and these dishes both cost around £50 each! We ordered a side of steamed baby pak Choi which was £16 and the steamed rice was £9. Very expensive for the quality you get, there are far better and cheaper restaurants within walking distance.

A pleasant experience, but we were a little disappointed by the location of our table and the quality of the food. We were at the back of the restaurant on the right, the second-to-last table of two and a big pole completely blocked our view. It's a pity, because the show is great, the artists are talented and lovely when they come to see you. The service is also very friendly, especially the sommelier. However, the quality of the dishes is too low for the price. It was good overall but not excellent, I had nerves and hard bits in my chicken. No side dishes are included in the price. The Chef's Dim Sum selection is only 4 and the portions are small. There is not a bottle of red wine under £89. Overall, I would say it's a one-off, but I'm not sure I would go back.

I went here with a friend yesterday, I have seen many videos of this restaurant and thought I would give it a try, sad to say I will not be returning, the food is average is not worth £74.00 at all, I had Szechuan Kung Pao Corn-Fed Chicken with egg rice mixed with vegetables and prawns, Virgin Mojito and a Lucky Cat for dessert. The Virgin Mojito was the only thing that was good but it was way too much ice than the drink itself, the Lucky Cat and the food overall was very small in portion especially for the price we paid I expected more, the food and dessert is not filling at all. The Szechuan Kung Pao Corn-Fed Chicken was too sweet I just didn't understand the flavour it was giving unfortunately. The Lucky Cat had some burnt chocolate pieces. The egg rice with prawns and vegetables wasn't all that. The waitresses were ok with customer service but I have seen better service, our food, drinks and dessert took far too long to arrive, the only thing that was quick was when we had to pay the bill. It almost seemed we had to remind the waitresses what to do next. The only good review I would say is the restaurant is very clean and the waitresses look presentable that's it!

The service was excellent, the entertainment was a lot of fun, and I even ended up on stage for one of the acts, which was a fun surprise 😅. The food was really good, and I highly recommend the ribs. It’s a bit pricey at £150 per person, but overall a fun night out!

Terribly overpriced food that does not match up to the expectation. Extremely poor selection of items on the menu and all the dishes are disappointingly uncreative. Taste is mediocre at best and serving portion is shockingly petite. Simply not worth it!

Went for an impromptu date night with the Mrs today. I can safely say that this place is not worth the time or money. The fact that I was able to get a 7pm and 8pm booking on a Saturday night on the day should have probably been alarm bells but we persevered. We ordered the wasabi king prawn and Szechuan crispy chicken. Wasabi prawns were ok, lacked any real wasabi however the Szechuan crispy chicken was just plain awful. It was so salty that you couldn’t taste any flavour. The crispy chicken tasted like KFC’s popcorn chicken (probably doing a disservice to KFC) and so dry too; a drizzle of sauce over the chicken would have helped. To add salt to wound (no pun intended) when the waiter asked how was your meal, we told him that the crispy chicken was inedible, his reply was ‘that’s great’ basically went into robot mode assuming we enjoyed our meal; I corrected him and made sure he heard me the second time to which he said he’ll let the chef know. After hearing no feedback, we continued with our main course. I ordered the grilled A5 Japanese wagyu rib eye and Mrs ordered the black cod. Again the Wagyu was terrible, did not taste right at all. The black cod was ok, soft and flaky as it should be. The portions were supposed to be for sharing but I can assure you they were not. After the main, we were still hungry so ordered some desserts. Waited 25 minutes for desserts and when probing the waiter, he said it will be a little bit longer. In the end decided to cancel dessert and call it a night. We requested the service charge to be removed as we got sub par service; the manager did try and apologise and offered some complementary deserts, to which we declined and left. Entertainment of the live singer and band was good hence atmosphere gets 4 stars. Overall a real let down. The menu has some real scope to be amazing however the delivery and cooking is a big let down. I wouldn’t visit here again. Our total bill for 2 (no Alcohol) was £315+/-…

A truly beautiful and sophisticated restaurant. While many places are stark and minimalist these days, Park Chinois is rich and opulent. The service is very professional and attentive, yet friendly. All of the dishes were excellent. There is live music each evening and this really adds to the sophisticated atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Park Chinois is an unmissable experience in London. The atmosphere is both chic and intimate, perfect for an evening with friends or a romantic night out. The décor is stunning, with an elegant ambiance that transports you to another era. It's the ideal place to enjoy a drink in a cozy setting, while live music adds a sophisticated touch. The food was less than average and $150 min per person and had the nerve to also charge a $27.50 cover charge per person. Performances were good but did not fit a basement venue. And again the appetizers were not good and the food not great. Almost $500:for 3 people with the service charge. We had a total of 3 drinks for the table. You can buy 6 west end show tix for any show and eat in China Town for less money. The service was decent. The food served cold because they do not cover the food and hold the food when there is a performer singing.

Such an awesome experience. The food was excellent but gave it 4 stars because of the price element relative to other Chinese fine dining restaurants. Service was fantastic and atmosphere quite unique. We had a jazz band playing several sets during the night Some advice. Don’t book before 8pm as that there are only a few tables and less atmosphere. The place fills out more after 8pm. For a couple, request a table around the outside as you can sit next to each other facing the stage

Oh how the mighty have fallen. The lady Somm was decent. Tried the wine allowed us to try it as usually. The older bald gentlemen with glasses just poured the second bottle (in a different shaped glass mind you) without letting us taste the second bottle. The u fortunate gentlemen also pours as if I was sitting in a British airways flight. I.e pours the wine so heavily than you can’t even swirl the glass. Ordered the whole duck and there was no sugar with the skin like there used to be. The experience felt weak compared to other high end restaurants. Went on a Saturday night and it was empty which was quite a surprise. Further failings: the waiter broke a glass, and upon future service gave us the index finger (wait a moment) and didn’t come back and went on to chat and laugh with other waiters on the side… All in all I was disappointed unfortunately. Park chinois is not what it used to be 5 years ago…

A good restaurant. I was drawn to enter the restaurant because the atmosphere was nice and pleasant, but my experience was not successful. I am a fan of Eastern and Asian food, and someone who is accustomed to a certain style for everyone will be surprised at first by the food, and it may not be very suitable for him. The interneter does not know how to speak English. I had difficulty communicating my requests to him in a proper way. It is clear and the food is acceptable to the extent that you will ask them for spices and lemon, and to drink hot and sour mixed with all meats. It does not have its original acidity

Similarly to some other reviews I found the food very underwhelming for the price. My husband and I are foodies who have lived in various Asian countries and in now living in London we love to try out new Asian restaurants in the hunt for something unexpected, which is what I had hoped for from Hunan after receiving the cook book. I liked the concept of “we choose the menu for you” and multiple courses as it means that for a special occasion dinner for 2 you can have a Chinese meal with the range of tastes you would expect at a round table family dinner, which otherwise wouldn’t be available. The food felt like all your favourite UK Chinese takeaway restaurant classics from 1997… but just marginally better, and I really Do mean marginally. I got the impression that none of the other diners felt like we did. They seemed very impressed by dishes such as “Chinese dumpling” and “crispy aromatic duck” and “egg fried rice”. They did not mind the over use of shaoxing rice wine and corn flour in many dishes. They did not mind paying £170/head for the privilege of this food. Idid notice that at least in our section of the restaurant there was now a single guest of Easy Asian appearance. Most other diners appeared to be American or form continental Europe. There is no Chinese on the menu and I don’t think the restaurant is catering to people from Asia. This shows in the food, service, music (overly loud remixes of early 00s hits), wine selection. The waiters did not appear knowledgeable about the food providing names such as the ones given above, not providing information about ingredients or regional providence of the dish etc except on one occasion where we were told that the lamb was form the Lake District. Our waiter was very keen to upsell us on wine (we aren’t big drinkers) and repeatedly didn’t listen to requests and questions. The food was so disappointing that at one point I started laughing, and as a result. The Maitre’d came to ask is if everything was ok. I commented that i was disappointed with both the food and the service and the Maitre’d apologised and offered to send for more dishes from the kitchen. I accepted this offer and commented that it would be nice as we had come for my birthday. We were then given some sparkling wine and a copy of the cook book. The additional dishes were similar to the earlier ones. One dish of crispy lamb was reasonable. Two other dishes (maybe black cod in a Chinese vinegar reduction and “pork in a bag”) were actually inedible. The other entirely forgettable. Desert was a choice between the overly sweet apple/banana/toffee fried thing and vanilla ice cream (sounded and looked sickly!) and “red bean pancake, green tea ice cream” - again very disappointing. Ice cream was clearly not made on sight, pancake was overly fried mochi-like rice dough with a prawn toast like sesame finish. There was also a coconut jelly which was ok. The Maitre’d knocked 40% off the bill. I had the impression that they had received this kind of comment before. In summary - I can imagine how when the restaurant opened in the 1980s it was impressive. The concept would have been novel, access to Chinese foods beyond the regular take-away joint would have been extremely limited at this time. But in the last 40+ years (and especially in the last 10) the Asian dining scene in London has exploded. Quality and variety now available in other London boroughs doesn’t seem to have impacted this restaurant in Pimlico- which seemed popular with local residents with a clear affection for what I found to be a truly disappointing dining experience. I would not recommend this restaurant. Save your money and go elsewhere.

The food is something different here! I liked the aubergines with sesame paste! Amazing taste. Their signature chicken dish had a distinguished flavours. The chillis are defos not for eating! Felt like a puzzle when picking up the chicken pieces. The portions were quite big! The staff were amazing and very helpful. I would give 3.5 starts but no such an option. My note would be for the excess oil in food.

A hidden gem in Wallington, food is so tasty that I can eat it everyday! Their Singapore fried rice variants are all so tasty and salt and pepper chicken is over the moon. It’s would have been good if they have accepted the card payments, but nevermind, taste of the food compensates for that.
