Park Life Café Clissold Park in Hackney

Wow, what a transformation. We used to only come here if it was raining as it is a fantastic building but the service was so bad. The coffee is still the worst in SN. but you're not waiting 30 minutes for it and the staff are now some of the best in SN. The new manager is lovely and friendly and the staff are a ton better. The salmon bagel and vegan breakfast will now be a regular stop, even if we'll be bringing Finks coffee with us 😬 . So happy this is back on our radar again 👍

I had my first hot chocolate of the season today and it was made by the lovely Sylvie- she was super friendly and my drink was speedy and delicious. The cafe was warm and inviting and a welcome break from my beautiful but chilly walk through the park. Will be going again!

Best way to get a positive change is to go to goggle and rate the cafe with the above message. Public messaging is best way to get a quick response too. Personally, the place has gone down hill for a few years, especially the last six months with broken coffee machine, inconsistent quality coffee due to overheating or under heated coffee. Then there’s the fiascos that the owner is making of hiring and retaining stuff. The opening time of 8am is rarely met, now opens 8:30 to 9am. Then last week they increased prices across the board at some random rate. Non diary milk is not more expensive than dairy milk - the extra charge is taking the mick out of our community. Time the council took back the contract.

The service was very slow Chef went to break during busy time Food terrible 😞 spinach not even wash 1 scrambled egg mix with salmon cut in pieces bread 🥖 blood hard I don’t even talk about the sandwiche cheese Please find a new chef

We had very disappointing service at this cafe yesterday on four counts. Firstly the public toilets at the cafe are out of action and the ones that are available inside the cafe have been ear marked just for staff so you have to walk 6 mins away to the splash pool area where the next set of public toilets are. I did this and was locked in to the toilet because the internal handle fell off; luckily my friend was able to rescue me and open the door from the outside. We came back to the cafe to buy a cheese sandwich which was stale. The flat whites were brought to the table but had been allowed to slurp into the saucers. Really not impressed and won't be using this cafe again. There are some delightful cafes just outside the park. Regarding the toilets issue, I have always thought cafes were obliged to provide toilets on site or very near the cafe.

The slow service of food makes it advisable to bring your own substantial picnic, many people do this.

We has a late luch here om daughter's twenty eighth birthday.Ihad a toasted teacake and an iced coffee,very nice.

Sunday brunch: filthy, uncleared tables, tepid espresso, sawdust toast, poached eggs with 2 sausages is 1 sausage cut in two.Service appalling: 30 mn wait, said missed order arrived as we were leaving. Slack service, untrained staff, overwhelmed manager.

Good selection of food and drinks in a period victorian house. Can get busy around lunchtime but worth the wait.

My partner went with our dog and was told that whilst it was no dogs allowed, that she could wait outside and they would take her order. I went 15 minutes later with our other dog and was told that I couldn't be served, I couldn't wait outside, and there was nothing they could do about it. My partner is white and I am not. The fact that they also refused to acknowledge me at the door makes me pretty sure that I am not jumping to conclusions here.

Absolutely amazing! We had our wedding party in Clissold Park and asked the cafe to cater it. They brought the food to us and laid out a lovely platter that went down a treat. There was a fab selection and they catered for everyone’s dietary requirements. We had lots of comments about how good the food was. Food and service were outstanding. Highly recommend.

Every time I visit the cafe the staff is always friendly and the service is great. Excellent location to grab a coffee and cake to enjoy in the park. Lots of yummy ice cream too!

Loved hot chocolate they serve and the view! If you're lucky enough to catch some sun and good weather - this is the perfect place to be!

Went yesterday for long walk and found this nice cafe. Got a late, and lovely lady who works there made a very hot one , that’s how I asked for it. I believe that wasn’t my last visit in that cafe.

I had a very good experience here. The area and location is very nice. The staff members are very friendly. I was served by a young lady called Niki. She made my day! Would definitely return.

Cheese toasty a congealed mess, water only received after several reminders and cake dried out. Had to wait 30 mins for that - no-one else waiting - and no apologies from nasty staff👎Go anywhere else!
