I never write a review, but ive passed this place many times but never gone in till last month. I wish id gone before...the breakfast was the best ive tasted and the bacon is cooked to perfection. Staff are so friendly and welcoming, Ive gone back a couple of times now. They do buffets, take outs but not sure about delivery. Great little place.

Have been here on quite a few occasions and have never had any complaints. The food is freshly cooked and the staff are lovely. Can highly recommend, oh and the breakfast is the best I've tasted

Excellent food, excellent service. Lovely intimate setting for a celebration meal- a little pricey but we were more than happy to pay as the quality was incredible! The best place to eat in Melbourne!

I come to U.K. quite frequently & this is one of the first places I always visit. The proprietors know me and are always friendly, know my regular Americana drink. The desserts are wonderful & the attention to service is always 1st class!! There’s always a table available. Be sure to take home some of the candies as they are special too! If you visit Melbourne, be sure to stop at Forteys for a coffee & special dessert treat!! You won’t be disappointed…I promise!!

I have visited the Gate on many occasions and have never had a bad meal, Christmas Day definitely didn’t disappoint, very busy, very organised and the food and ambiance was fantastic.

Very friendly staff, lovely feel to the cafe, only had cake and coffee but both were very good. Dog friendly and lovely grounds to give the pooch a run in.

A fantastic little place, so cosy, beautiful decor. The staff were so friendly. I tried to order the pancakes, they said 'I'm afraid they're on the breakfast menu, that stops at 1200', when I asked could they please be done for me, they were, no problem. REALLY appreciated it. Well done & thank you.
