Old chicken smelly rice and old fries

I just bought two chick n rice boxes, and took it home because the shop was about to close when i ordered. I just arrived to home and opened the boxes and they smell extremely odd, and i am too kuch hungry, the taste is not very bad but the smell is not normal. I tried calling the shop but they are not picking up. Me and my friend are about to eat this because we dont have anything else to eat rightnow and have no option left. If anything happens I held this branc and its employees responsible for it.

Bought chick n rice boxes with meal and they are extremely old. Extremely odd smell from rice boxes It can be seen clearly that the oil was old. The potato was old. The staff does not take care of hygiene at all. They do not wear gloves while handling the food with bare hands. I’ll be suing this branch of pepes as I can see the negative reviews and still no change has been done. Ps: i ate the rice and chicken but not fries, because i had no option left.

Awful awful customer service. I’ve currently been waiting 2 hours for a delivery on Uber eats. drivers just waiting at the restraunt to pick up and it gets moved on to the next driver. It’s nothing to do with the drivers so don’t respond with that nonsense. I’ve tried to call multiple times and can’t get through too. Terrible business

Really poor service. It took me 5 minutes on the phone to explain a simple order over the phone and they still got it wrong. Of course i didn't realise this until i opened up the bag when i got home so there wasn't much i could do at that point. and this wasn't the first time either!!

The staff behaviour is very rude and they don’t care about customers .if you don’t want to waste your money than don’t go because of staff

Very bad and rude staff i ordered 2 chicken raps and the lady on counter said it will be ready in half an hour but when i went to collect they said wait for 1 hour then they start arguments 0 star pooe service

Their food is good but I ordered it on uber eats one day and they gave me a burger instead of a rice box and when I tried to call they wouldn’t pick up. Sometimes when I come in store I watch all of them purposely ignore phone calls when it isn’t even busy? And the first time I called the phone was ringing but the second time I called they put their phone on busy

Ordered on deliveroo, kept saying the driver was 23 minutes away for about half an hour?! And he wasn’t moving on the map. Couldn’t contact the driver so rang the store who said they had nothing to do with the delivery once it had left? Delivery took absolutely ages, staff are completely incompetent, stupid and rude. Who the hell else are you supposed to phone.

Came at 10:25 and walked in the door and was shouted at saying “get out we are closed” no greeting or nothing. Your saying you close at 10;30, maybe change the times on line. Saved a 15 minute journey

last three times iv ordered and paid for peri dips everytime they have not sent them if you dont have them take them off the menu !! chips and other dips was also spilt inside the bag this time very unorganised will order from the other branch next time

Horrible experience! First time ordering from here and as you can imagine as a uni student I was unsure whether this place was worth it or not. Ordered 2 burger meals, a wrap and a chicken salad on Just Eat and the estimated delivery time kept changing!! Kept calling the restaurant asking when my food would arrive as we were in a rush and the person on the phone kept saying this is a Just Eat issue not our issue and kept advising that I call my delivery driver (even though I couldn't see my drivers number because the order hadn't been in transit yet). What annoyed me the most is that every time I called they kept saying 'your food is ready and is sitting here, it just needs to be delivered!!'. Rubbish service, never got my food in the end as I had to end up cancelling (I was not going to wait 2 hours and then eat cold food!) and even cancelling my order took a long time as I had to contact Just Eat for this. Don't rely on these people to deliver your food ON TIME! Go somewhere else where u can get ur moneys worth.

So dirty inside almost felt sick. The man touching the marinated chicken with no gloves or anything it was a horrible sight.

Got the grilled chicken burger and was probably the best burger I have had in my life especially for such a good price! Staff were kind and helpful.

The food is amazing and so tastey, so it makes you want to go back, however, in the last 5 times we have ordered from here they have missed out several parts of our order, and that just ruins your meal. Each time I've spent decent money and not received my full order so have had to cook extra things at-home to go with the meal- and thay sucks!. I do not see how hard it is to read the receipt and put the things in the bag.. as it has happened every time and I have also Herd other people complain about the same thing, it makes me think they are purposely doing it to save money. On top of that, I was in the store the other day for the first time and raised the issue with a staff member, saying how annoying it was and waste of our money, he just shrugged and said oh well. It's not good enough!

They have very poor and late service with no proper attention paid to the costumer they don't even give the bill back, they have a lady who doesn't even know basic english and always misplaces Or mistakes the order and she even added extra dip where I didn't even ask for it and charges it, we cannot acknowledge these small additions they make because they never give the bill they just throw it away the moment u orderorder. Worst service, change your staff

We love pepe’s piri piri! Our favourite is the grilled chicken and the bread you get with it is sooooo yummy. The chips are banging too if you don’t live too far away. We’ve ordered 4 times now. We did have no bread in some of the orders but we always thought this was a bonus extra. You can ring the restaurant directly too.

The Indian/pakistani lady seems rude and we ordered couple of things with extreme flavour but before paying I mentioned her to change rice box to mild but she replied you already said extreme and we’re served with extreme only as she didn’t change our order and bcz of that my husband was not able to eat that spicy, waste of money and time

Sadly not as good as it was, food is still good, but staff turn away everyone after 10.30 and don't answer the phone for orders after 10. Maemes in church road is as good if not better quality, halal and open to 12. Excellent peri peri take away Halal, polite friendly staff Fairly busy as most popular and nicest in area

Pepe's Piri Piri, the rice slaps

I’m been there for food today, but I’m not satisfy with them food , I ordered it panner rice meal , but this panner was not test well and rice also not completely boiled , and the most important things they give me some sauce but they sauce was expired and when go there and I told with they guys he said not this sauce is not expired and the didn’t give me any fresh one😟

We order food for dine in..! They Burn the Chicken and food was over cooked when we mention to staff they been rude to us. We order all togeather 4 meals worth 40 pounds food.They put wrong peri peri sauce on all over oders.never recomended to any body Stapleton road PEPE,S PERI PERI.Absolutley pathetic..! Disguting

Service is slow but very impressive food

Worst food going . Don't eat here . Chicken Burger is one of those frozen packets ones you can get from Iceland. Chips poor quality doused in way too much piri salt and they forgot a portion.

Came here again, and this time there was a lovely lady at the till who served me. Very kind and helpful. Great staff, and lovely food served at the right time. So refreshing to see staff be kind. Came previously and some were rude, however the sister at the till is very nice ! Kuddos to her !

The worst place to order food staff are very lazy they’re busy watching telephone and when you talk to them the answer is rude

We order from this place very, very regularly because we simply love the food but we ALWAYS have issues with the order. They miss things, they use the wrong flavour that we've chosen for the meal (and we know this because we normally request lemon and herb for a few things and sometimes it's right and sometimes it's just fire), they don't include extras (which we pay for, like extra chicken in the rice or sides) or they don't look at the notes or forget the drinks. When we complaint to the delivery service, they think we're taking the mic and refuse to refund but this restaurant is just an utter nightmare. Their packaging is also incredibly poor (pic attached) and more often than not the sauces are spilled in the bag, maybe you should put them in a separate paper bag as you do with the chips guys... The food is AMAZING but just know that if you order you risk losing money or getting the wrong things 🙄

Not bad as a take out goes better than the one next door

really enjoyed my meal i ordered the maxin chicken burger XL meal with chocolate fudge cake. the food was reasonably priced except for the cake as it was not worth the price for the price. the chips portions are also quite small which was dissatisfying.

Food was reliably tasty via Ubereats. Fast delivery, hot food. However going large didn't work out so no fourth star. Paid the extra for nothing in return.

I think they are fake pepe's because their sauces are like water🙆. We paying money for your watery sauce... You guys not giving that for free.. I didn't see sauce like this worse any pepe's in uk. And they didn't know what customer support means i think. Rubbish customer support. Please try to avoid.

Expensive, takes forever as they only prioritise Deliveroo orders, never get enough of the ‘main’ bit of the meal ie. Chicken or Paneer, always dry and flavourless and the drink looks like you’re gonna get it with ice in a cup but it’s just a room temperature can, they don’t even have a fridge? Sort it out

Great place, and the food is amazing. I had chicken and rice as a meal and this is now my favourite meal. It is full of flavour, and it comes with different levels of flavouring. From plain and lemon and herbs to mild and very hot. Make sure you ask them for their garlic sauce combined with the chicken, and rice makes a finger liking mix of deliciousness. Staff is amazing and can't do enough for their clients. If you are new to Pepe's, they gladly will advise you on their different options.

Terrible food and customers service, avoid this place, imagine they are serving a warm drinks from the packs on the floor without having an actual fridge to serve a cold drinks, never come back again and very expensive,they will never give you a receipt that has what you paid for, ripping customers off, very rude staff .

Just ordered from here and my food was opened and handed to me like that by the delivery guy, obviously I did not eat it. I called Pepès to let them and unfortunately they weren't helpful in rectifying the matter, and suggested that I call Just eat!

My god that chick n rice box was unreal. Absolutely delicious! Very flavourful and a lot of food for your money! My only complaint however is the garlic mayo was a bit too runny for my liking but it was very tasty!

Played 3 games of backgammon as I waited for a lamb burger which cost me £7.00 then looked up reviews and saw Tom's review decided to leave told staff suddenly my burger was ready decided not to have it .as all it would have done is upset me .

Delivery was good and all but food had 0 taste, really plain and just not great.

Food was bangin'; t'was a shame it took so long to be ready. We had to ask for drinks which should've been part of meal, but dips were volunteered, so swings and roundabouts. Much better than the Gloucester Road Pepe's in that they actually serve something fit for human consumption.

I had the spicy rice box and it came cold and not spicy. Average at best.

Definitely for lovers of HEAT! Even their mild provides quite a kick so be warned. A lil pricey now but it's good quality for that price. You can expect a long wait and occasional rude customers - worth a trip, their food is worth it!

Lamb burger is smaller then a McDonald’s cheeseburger taste like a microwave burger and they forgot to give a double no peri salt on fries and no point doubling up. Never thought I’d pay £8 for a cheeseburger and some chips ridiculous prices and shocking food wish I could give it no stars

Food gone down hill in the last year

Always take forever with my food. Its simple fast food shouldn't be waiting so long. You'd think they were growing the chicken and the chips

Tastiest chicken!! We had the mango and lime half chicken and the hot chicken wings and was unbelievably nice. New fave!

Didn't have high expectations but wow, this is the best piri piri I've ever had! A bit slow on the service and not really delivered with a smile but I don't care because it was some seriously good chicken.

This is a decent place, it's tidy and clean. Food is tasty, the chicken wrap, the fish burger, wraps and whole chicken is good. Chips are very nice too. If you buy from Uber, they've messed my order several time. Best to go and pick it up.

Order was about 2 hrs late and was the wrong order. Not a single item was ours. Spoke to the guy on phone and was just wasting our time. Useless

Saw them use the food tongs to pick up a single chip from their dirty floor then put the tongs back on the rail ready to use again. If this is what they’re doing in front of customers imagine the nastiness they’re doing when no one is watching. Zero food hygiene. Disgusting.

I have been a loyal customer of this place since 2019. The first time I have try their tasted chicken with chips, I know I would come back. The best thing of all is not expensive at all.

Waited for 1 hour for a burrito

It was my worst experience ever. Very slow staff. Shop was not busy. Only couple of deliveries. They said it will be ready in 15-20 mints but we have waited more than 40 minutes. Dont even try guys. Have never made this much terrible comment before.

The Taca one was insane, very recommended and with the price you cant go wrong!

Tasty and cooked properly but they seem to try give minimal chicken. Wrap was also like chicken sized of few fries. Extremely watered down sauce also.

The half chicken is very nice and juicy. Lemon and herb sauce is very tasty and chicken is never dry. Highly recommend to eat straight after purchase for greater experience. Also chicken tasca is very nice. It would be nice if they had a wider range of soft drinks.

I only went there twice, disappointed both times, its takes tooo long for them to prepare your food, 30 mins for a burger, i thought the first time something was wrong, but on the second time i realised its always like that, oh and the staff are rude

I have never had such a delicious and juicy whole chicken before. The wedges and the fries were so crispy and its halal and for me this is a big deal. Rating 5 stars and if I had a chance would rate more.

Terrible service. Have failed to deliver my full order twice in one week. Take no accountability and do nothing to rectify their mistake. Useless air breathers….

I rate them 4 stars becuase they tried to give me my drink in cheap 'cans' rather from drink from the dispenser Even when its working. I pay good money for my food.... food is good Quality no doubt. But when i pay good money i want good quality drink... not cheap 'cans'. Fix up.

Came and ordered the simplest of meals. Chicken strips (that they already have there ready made). We were told it would be 10 minutes. Instead we had to wait 10 times longer. Think about it. 10 times longer than they said it would be ready in. There were multiple health code violations. Chicken lying on the bare floor, chips all over floor. General uncleanliness. People who ordered after us were given there orders before us. Never ever again and I would advise others that when ordering it will take 10 times longer than they say.

Very unprofessional and rude stuff !!! There are lots of take away shops along side of Stapleton Road and clearly this one worst do deal with staff. If they can rip you off, they definitely will, if you try to complain based on facts manager takes no responsibility. All in all, there are much better places and cheaper to visit alongside that street. Avoid

I ordered food which was completely cold and wen I complain them on phone the manager was not accepting his fault and on top of it he was being rude and arrogant and was showing atitude such rubbish service
