Grrreeeat turkish food in a dimmed atmosphere

Really enjoyed eating here yesterday with my family and relatives! The food was excellent! Love the large BBQ mixed meats with rice, chips and salad! It was very well cooked! Very tasty! Highly recommended!

We used to go to Petek regularly, since we've moved it's become a rare treat, however, nothing changes. Staff are fantastic. The food is amazing. It's my favourite restaurant and we will definitely be back ♡

Fantastic Iskenderun kebab - mixed meats with verges and yoghurt. The fresh bread is nothing like those “supermarket” pittas you get at other Greek restaurants.

Hemos querido probar este restaurante durante siglos, por recomendación de amigos. Hemos probado la mayoría de otros restaurantes de estilo similar en la zona (y hay algunos buenos), pero Petek está bastante por encima. La comida estaba deliciosa y perfectamente condimentada. El vino turco era agradable y un buen precio y el servicio era excelente. Muy recomendable.

The lambs Liver (Tava Ciger) was so damn good! And the rocket Halloumi salad was really nice too. Really good service. Highly recommend the baklava and ice cream too!

Definitely my favourite Turkish/Cypriot place on London. I usually go for the lovely chicken shish but their fiesta menu is great as well. Love their babaganoush and tuna special.

Good quality but portions too big. Presentation leaves a bit to be desired. Not overpriced but expensive considering the amount of food you don't need or eat.

This place is amazing. The food is delicious, with plenty of choice... The restaurant is beautiful, and the staff is friendly. Will be coming many more times.

We had the mixed meze platter between 4 people. It was excellent! A wonderful mix of dips and meaty meze. Lovely staff and wonderful atmosphere.

had a lovely birthday dinner for 5, Great vegetarian Mezez, Chicken shish and chips, And meat platter for 2 (which was actually enough for 3 of us!). Staff were very friendly and attentive. And gave us free baklava and Turkish delight 😊. Highly recommended 👌

I love Petek. Delicious food with generous portions, lots of choice for vegetarians, vegans and meat eaters. Wonderful warm service and a welcoming and beautifully lit venue. Recommended.

First time we've been although passed it many times. Really friendly and efficient service. Great atmosphere: lively but not deafening. We had a selection of dips and hot/cold starters: generous portions and all delicious especially the lambs liver which was superb. Definitely will come again! Good value for money too!!

Delicious food! Had the meat platter for 2. Softest meat I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Staff were super attentive and present. All round great restaurant - would highly recommend

Fantastic food. Service was good and speedy. Lived up to reputation. Complementary starter and baklava. 5 star experience.

Bustling, snappy service and closely packed tables. Says it offers GF options, and my coeliac friend double checked that by phone. But, sadly in our experience, should qualify as only suitable for those 'avoiding gluten as a lifestyle choice.' My coeliac friend was unwell after eating there, and from my belated glimpse of the kitchen they are not cooking and prepping separately. Apart from this, perfectly fine, ordinary food.

Stumbled into this gem for a pre-match meal. It was gorgeous from the start to finish. We were warmly greeted, given beautiful olives and warm bread and chilli salsa. Our food was wonderful and we were served with a smile. To top off, we were given delicious baklava. What a great place. Highly recommend. Will definitely visit again if we go back to the Arsenal.

Adana kebab was my favourite, the moussaka was also very nice. I liked that it wasn’t over spiced and it had a nice ambience.

Petek is great. One of the best places for food on Stroud Green Road. It's well priced, nice decor and friendly staff. Best to get a big sharing platter to try as much as you can.

I came here with my friends, we were all happy. The food is great, the ambiance is very pleasant, the service is very nice. You find everything you expect from a Turkish restaurant. I would recommend it to everyone. A place where we can be sure that you will have a good time with delicious food.

Extremely fast and attentive service Olives and tomato dip on table in seconds of arriving. Olives, delicious, spicy, little too salty Tomato dip, delicious, sweet and juicy Basket of bread brought very shortly after. Fesh, soft and crispy but no doner kebab sauce on it(special Turkish secret). Still great when dipped in tomatoe dip. Mixed shish for main (Chicken & Lamb) Lamb, juicy, succulent, flavorful, soft, perfect Chicken, little dry (but very rarely very juicy anywhere) soft, charcoal flavour good Basmati rice a little basic but cooked right and soft, nice rice Salad lacked flavour, missing a nice dressing like pomegranate sauce. Yogurt on the side an unusual addition and not sure why/what exactly its meant to go with but nice, thick, rich and creamy Decor very chilled, dim lighting gives a relaxed and intimate vibe without being too romantic. Family friendly. Nice sofa style seating at some tables Plenty of pretty traditional hanging lights and plates on the walls setting the scene. Tea has sugar sachet not authentic cube. Pistachio ice cream, delicious, creamy, sweet but not too sweet with plenty of pistachio pieces. Baklava, warm, not cold like many places which is great! A little dry, maybe sitting a while but, not stale. Needed more honey on top. Pastry a little powdery/crumbly not soft and juicy. Not too sweet though like some baklava can be. The restaurant has a good authentic feel. Price at the higher end of mixed grills at £21.50 or £28 for mixed shish and kofté but not the most expensive and some others charging in the same range do not provide near the level of service or quality of food 4/5

Excellent service and the food was lovely just a bit pricey for what you get

A large group of friends booked lunch at Petek to celebrate a milestone birthday - it was a great experience. We ordered from their set meal options; the food was fresh, delicious, and nicely presented and the portions very generous. Nice touches, such as complimentary bubbly to accompany our cake, and Turkish Delight as we left, were appreciated. Atmosphere enhanced by beautiful collection of ceramics on the wall, and friendly service.

Lovely restyrant. It had a birthday and quite a big booking made it extremely loud to hear. Overall food was on point, service great and price was good for what you got.

What can I say. Flawless on all accounts. The owner and staff make you feel right at home. No criticism. Perfect restaurant to visit when you’re in the area. If you’ve never tried Turkish food then this is the place to start.

Beautiful staff, food and great atmosphere and portion size are great worth the taste & money... Love family orientated restaurant and kids friendly.

Despite the efforts from the owners to make this place something to remember I guess the only part that fails is the food. Service and atmosphere are really good and you can see they go above and beyond however I feel the food lacks quality, perhaps not so much at the execution but the produce itself. Go once, if you fancy a bit of meat similar to what you would find on green Lanes, where the turskih places are lines up.

I really enjoyed the food here at Petek. The atmosphere is really homely and the service and quality of food was excellent.

We recently visited Petek and was disappointed by the quality of food for the price range. Also when I asked for a piece of baklava, which is often given in these circumstances, I was told that they could bring me a portion instead. Although it's not expected that restaurants provide extra items free of charge, it can be quite annoying when you have already paid around £150 in total.

Absolutely wonderful restaurant. The decor is fab, the food was delicious and fresh and the staff were super friendly. Will be back! Fab!

The best Turkish restaurant I’ve been to. The decoration reminds of the nice restaurants I went to in Istanbul. Just a delicious restaurant. Lots of added little things like olives, bread etc that are complimentary and it adds to the overall experience. The atmosphere in the restaurant is really nice, perfect for dates.

Nice food .Good customer service. Good price aswell. ONLY salad should be given in separate plate. Bcaz when salad dressing mix with food and its change the taste.

We wanted a Turkish restaurant to eat out whilst staying in London and we found this gem of a place. I’m so glad we did! From the moment we walked through the door they were great, very attentive and the food was absolutely amazing! You must try this place if in London!! Wowzers! Best meal in a long long time.

Why an absolute little gem of a restaurant. We were down visiting from Wakefield and this came up on our search for Turkish food. It didn’t disappoint. I had the lambs liver to start which was fantastic, my wife had hummus which she said was one of the best she’d had. For the main course I had Chicken and Lamb Kofte, WOW, and my wife had the Lamb Kofte. Both were absolutely amazing.

Friendly welcome, great service and absolutely delicious, good value food. We had the fixed price menu, 2 courses for £18.95 and a bottle of wine but in addition were given some “nibbles” on arrival and a pastries to finish. So nice to visit a truly independent restaurant. Would definitely go back again.

Nice and caring staff. Good food at a good price. What more could you ask for?? Pre-booked for a group of about 20 people got a set menu but they were able to cater for a vegan and one person with gluten intolerance. Would certainly go back and recommend. Check it out!

Obsessed with the green babaganush

My wife & I were on our way to Nandos for a bite to eat & passed this restaurant. We stopped out of curiosity, looked at the menu & made a snap decision to eat here. We were not let down, the food was amazing, the service was amazing, staff were polite & welcoming. Definitely coming back for another visit & already recommended this restaurant to friends. Dined at Petek last night. From arriving, and the warm reception I received , the service throughout was attentive, polite and friendly. Both of us chose the Special of Swordfish. The presentation was excellent and the fish just delicious . Good selection of wines. It was a thoroughly good evening. Thank you.

Fantastic food and great service. We've now visited numerous times over several years and Petek is consistently excellent. Highly recommended, especially on the lunch/dinner deal which is great value.

Such a great find. Came with a couple of friends for the first time during the week before going to Park Theatre. We could not find fault at all. The food was flavourful and generous, the beer cold and the service absolutely outstanding. It is definitely going on our favourites list for when we're seeing shows. The absolute loveliest people!!

Visited 21 February 2023 The restaurant was quiet upon arrival at 18:15, but when we left an hour later it was filling up, and rightly so. The staff were all very attentive and friendly and the food was delicious. I opted for a lamb shish with yoghurt and sumac, the meat was so very tender and the side salad was top tier. Washed down with the very flavoursome Turkish lemonade with mint. Will definitely be returning as there is quite an extensive menu.

So delicious! We shared some dips with flatbread and then the lamb kofte with harissa and yoghurt, would definitely recommend - lovely staff also!

Great place, food always outstanding.

Really lovely cosy little restaurant. It was our first time tonight. Everyone was really nice and friendly and I loved the atmosphere and decor. Also love the fact it’s family owned/family run as I prefer that to a big chain of restaurants as it feels a bit more cosy, you know the food has been prepared with love and they care about each and every customer’s experience. The food was absolutely delicious. Every single piece of meat was juicy and tender. Just perfect! Will definitely be returning.
