Wow, what a place. I recall during the 90s when the building used to be a brothel, some seriously goofy nights out happened there. It’s now a pieminister, I’m fine with that. Food, brilliant. Service, outstanding. Music, perfect. I’ll tell you what, coming here really made me feel old, 20 years ago I was walking out on my wife and kids to come here, now I’m sat across my carer stuffing the creamiest mash I’ve ever had down my gullet. Brilliant, would recommend.

Popped into Pieminister before the cinema. Accomodated us for starters and pies. Service was friendly, quick and attentive without being annoying. Food is of a high standard and the place is really cozy. Faciities could do with a spruce up at the back of the service area as seem a little tired.

I had the pleasure of dining at Pieminister the other day and it was lovely. Looking for meat-free options I asked the waiter, Cameron, what his recommendation would be. He was very accommodating to my request and recommended the sweet potato pie. To my delight, it was indeed gorgeous. I was worried it wasn’t going to be substantial enough, but the pie was decently sized and filling. Afterwards, I asked for the waiter to come over, asked for his name and thanked him. Cameron gave service with a smile and I appreciated his recommendation greatly.

Just when I thought I'd emptied the sack for good pie joints in Manchester, this gem shines its pretty little face. Fantastic experience. Let me paint a picture for you: it's a bitingly cold December evening and me and the wife are famished. It's been a long day — two kids, a dog, a guinea pig with explosive diarrhea — the last thing either of us want to do is fire up the hob or oven and fumble our way through another janky recipe from that pillow-tongued culinary pirate Jamie Oliver. Enter Pieminister Deansgate, its open doors more inviting than a mother's warm bosom to a hungry suckling pig. Can I get an 'R' anybody? Because Pieminister's prices are r e a s o n a b l e. Myself and the wife were both well fed for under £40! I went for cheesy mash with my pie, but the Mrs. drew for mash original (one too many fungal infections have turned her firmly away from anything a little tangy on the taste buds). The atmosphere and staff were both sublime, too. They were smiley, welcoming, and each one I got the chance to sniff smelled great. Fast forward to late evening. I pull a pair of marigolds up to my elbows and set about the guinea pig's litter box. My nostrils are flush with the smell of hot excrement, but all I can think of are simpler times: potatoes, mushy peas, pie containing meat of the chicken. Pieminister Deansgate, you have my heart.

There are many places to go for eats around Deansgate, and yet me and my partner always find ourselves returning to Pieminister! The seating area is very warm and cosy, and the staff are a lovely bunch. They were just as kind, attentive and welcoming on a bustling Friday night as they would be at any other time of the week. Trinity, Amy and Cameron came together tonight and absolutely made our day. Our food came very quickly, was absolutely delicious, and the service exceptional. Today's visit to Pieminister in Deansgate reaffirmed why this place remains my absolute favourite. The pies, as always, were a symphony of flavours - perfectly flaky crusts and fillings that hit every comforting note. The gravy deserves its own special mention - warming, comforting and goes exceptionally well with their whole menu. What truly stood out, however, was the outstanding service. Despite being visibly understaffed, the team worked tirelessly to ensure everyone felt welcomed and taken care of. A massive shoutout to Trinity, Amy, and Cameron, who went above and beyond to make our experience exceptional. Their warmth, professionalism, and ability to maintain calm under pressure were genuinely admirable. This combination of excellent food and a stellar team guarantees I’ll keep coming back. Thank you, Pieminister, for setting the bar so high, even on the busiest of nights!

Asked about the menu and sent the server into a meltdown because he didn’t know a single thing that I asked him. He didn’t know any drinks or anything about the food. I’ve literally just come out to treat myself on a Saturday night after working extra hours this week and, I am sorry if I’m wrong, but I feel that I am allowed to ask about a meal I’m about to pay £15 for without receiving an attitude from a worker that clearly hates his job. I asked for someone else. He then proceeded to bad mouth me to the rest of the staff in an open kitchen, plus it’s tiled so the sound echos. A nice enough girl came over, but obviously she privately sides with her colleague, which is fair enough, but poor service for me. Ordered a starter that came with the main. The pie was plain and the halloumi bites could’ve been used for pellets. Had to ask for my second drink after ordering it. Would’ve ordered dessert, but I decided to go to Frurt where I go often go and never receive a horrible service. Who wants to stay somewhere that they feel unwelcome? I never pay bill service charge anyway because I prefer to pay it separately and I was going to not tip at all but I appreciate that the girl who waited my table, albeit slightly strained and below par, saved me from the presence of the lad that wanted to boot my head off for asking about his preference of pie so I tipped her as a thank you for letting me having a semi-uncomfortable evening rather than a really uncomfortable one. If I’d have wrecked the restaurant, I would’ve understood, but I asked about drinks and pies and I don’t think I deserved the service I got because the servers took offence to this.

Meh. Good vibes but even though they do vegan options, they can't cater to someone who is vegan and don't have alcohol as the sauces they cook the vegetables for the pie all contain alcohol. Came here in June. Out of 14 pies available there were 7 crossed out on the menu given to us. At other Pieminsters, we have very kindly been able to order the Mothership and exchange our minty mushy pees for graden pees. Our waiter explained that he couldn't do it, saying something about social media and people taking photos and documenting it. When I questioned more he came up with excuses about inventory too. Mothership = £14 Pie and two sides + adding extra cheese and crispy onion would come to £17 It could be done just at an extra £3 for us. Seemed a silly thing for this Pieminster to be worried over something simple that would make our short stay in this restaurant a pleasant one. We enjoyed our meal, tasty as always, just missing our few extra sides that give it that 👌

We came for the bottomless brunch and were very disappointed. After half of our party had to cancel we contacted in the suggested way and did not hear anything. Not wanting to be charged a deposit we decided to go just two of us. Staff were very attentive. However flat Prosecco, raw pastry and wrong orders were not impressive. The drinks choice is very limited and each time the Prosecco was flat and served with warm juice. We opted for a passion fruit martini and it tasted so strong of cinnamon (not a listed ingredient). When we ordered our pies it was served as the ‘mothership’ when we asked for the plain basic brunch and repeated we only wanted pie and mash. As fussy eaters minty peas are not appealing and not wanting to cause food waste we scraped them off, making the pastry soggy. The steak pies pastry was raw and one of us could only eat the meat inside. Staff were very kind and concerned and offered us the normal price for the plain pie, we wanted rather than charging for the extras we scraped off… we left one hour early into our brunch as hungry, moody, with flat Prosecco and weak beer our only option for drinks. The young girl who works here Andrea is fabulous and could not do enough, however the brunch needs some serious work as having to go and eat elsewhere after isn’t ideal! Especially when paying £56 for an hour of disappointment.

I came in for bottomless brunch with a few friends. The food was gorgeous as always but the service left little to be desired. The two male waiters lacked any kind of social and customer service skills and came across as rude multiple times. I felt like we were an inconvenience. The fact that the waiter was waiting tables and making cocktails meant that he couldn't keep up with the demand of the restaurant. They told us the wrong drinks on the bottomless brunch offer and we all ordered to be told we couldn't have them 15 minutes later. When we wanted to order drinks separately at different intervals the guy was really funny about it. We then had to synchronise all our drinks which was ridiculous. We asked if we could order an alcoholic drink and a soft drink as we were thirsty as it was such a hot day. The guy said no. We had to then pay separately for drinks and 75p for tap water. When the bill arrived it had £13 tip on there which we didn't think the waiter had earned but with all the hassle we couldn't be bothered to contest it so just let them have it. I read the T&Cs before coming and there was no mention of compulsory tips. I hate it when restaurants do that. It's so presumptuous and rude. It's not bottomless brunch either because we barely got any drinks in the two hours. None of our party would visit here again which is a shame because the food was so good. The service really let the place down. I think further staff training is a must. I worked in hospitality for many years and never treated customers in this way.

Love the food... But don't bother with the "bottomless" brunch on a Saturday. Two drinks in (table of 9) and they "ran out" of the cocktails on the list. The service was friendly but they were "not allowed" to replace the cocktails they've run out of with any other cocktails they do... Only went for the "bottomless" cocktails... So maybe ask in advance of booking if you really want a pie with drinks. Otherwise there's plenty of better places in Manchester for bottomless deals. Only other confusion was having house made ketchup on tables but they don't do chips. Not sure what I'd have had the ketchup with 🤷🏽‍♂️ ...a clean place, and quick-ish service. And the food really is good!

Lovely group of boys serving us. 10/10 for service. The food was also very good with a wide range of veg and vegan options for me and my friends to try.

Dine in - Wednesday lunchtime visit for 1, not too busy, quick service - have eaten here before with 4 ppl and was just the same, excellent food this time I had the mooless moo with mash, Smokey beans and gravy. You wouldn’t know it was meatless if you didn’t know. Defo going back for a 3rd 4th and 5th visit

We decided to pop in here before a show at the opera house. There is a nice variety of pies with some decent sides. My friends had booked a table, so once seated, we dove straight into it. I chose a chicken and portobello mushroom pie, and others have different moos along with mash and onions. The cocktail menus was 241. Alas, I changed it to a strawberry gin concoction as they didn't have the ingredients to make what I initially wanted, but it was very well made and tasted lovely. The pie itself was presented nicely, but I personally found the pastry a but chewy? And not much in depth to house a hearty filling. The mushrooms really helped with the flavour, but the mash was just okay. Overall, the staff were all very pleasant, and the setting was cosy. But I will not be rushing back.

Very poor. The kid's menu wasn't offered and I only saw it as we were leaving. Why did the waiter give four main menus when he could clearly see one of the party was a four-year-old? Our grandson didn't like his pie, so left most of it. Thirdly, my order was wrong. None of us really liked the pies. Mine was heavy and sweet. Very strange flavour. I left most of my pie, too. Altogether, the worst food and service for a long time.

Expertly prepared served and packaged, so much better than the pre-packaged pies they sell, which are already very good.

Food, atmosphere and service were 10/10. We ordered the whipped feta with sourdough, toasted focaccia, patatas bravas and the baked chorizo. O. M. G. It was fantastic. Food was UNBELIEVABLE!! Extremely reasonable price and we were extremely pleased.

We first phoned for a takeaway here 2 weeks ago when our regular chippy was closed. We've been so happy, we're staying! They were immediately helpful & friendly on the phone, reassuring us that their chips are cooked separately in veggie-friendly oil (rare, but important as one of us is vegan). We phoned around 7.30 (having phoned 3 other unsuitable places before!) & they were due to close at 8.0 but were relaxed and happy to allow us time to get there. The chips were delicious, even towards the end of service. The fish batter (for the one of us that eats fish) was crunchy & tasty and the fish (huge haddock) was succulent. Mushy peas were lovely too. The cost was reasonable and the portions were generous. Our experience has been consistently good on 3 consecutive occasions, and we're staying! Highly recommended! Thanks! 👍👍👍

Used to be a regular visitor here for years. Visited 4 days ago and I will never go back. Food has changed . Not sure but I think he's using cheaper ingredients. Sausages used to be lovely . Now greasy cheap nasty food. I counted 3 tiny half's of mushroom on my plate. Black pudding was paper thin. Such a shame it's got like that. Crockery was filthy I had to send it back. Very dissapointed

I like lounges and seek them out when I visit a new city. Navarro Lounge was no exception with its cool, chilled out vibe I have come to expect. I loved it here.
