Pizza Express in East Riding of Yorkshire

My wife and I booked a table for early evening meal and drinks Thursday. We were warmly greeted at reception and waiting on the table was Paul. Excellent personal professional service all round. Food was made to order from the menu by the in house chef who dealt with a minor amendment to the main course for us and Paul provided a great advert for Pizza Express service and customer satisfaction. A relaxed inviting restaurant atmosphere. Thank you.

I have ordered a surprise bag from ‘Too Good to Go’ in order to help to save the food and environment. I went to pickup the bag and haven’t noticed that order has been cancelled. Staff was so helpful and kind that I ended up to go home with a lovely chicken pieces and a chocolate cakes. What a kind reward for making an effort to visit. We also always enjoyed to have a meal in this place in a relaxed and pleasant environment in the past.

We went to Pizza Express today and couldn't fault anything. The food was excellent. The service was quick and friendly. We definitely will be back.

We always have an amazing time at Beverley Pizza express, the staff are so friendly and brilliant with my 2 kids, the food is always excellent!

Went for a meal on Christmas eve. The food was excellent as usual. Staff were very attentive and helpful even though the whole restaurant was full. Well done again never a disappointment.

So we're to begin was shown to a table our table was at the top of the stairs very drafty and cold,ordered 2 pizzas and drinks when the meal did arrive I was eating mine and the waitress came to ask if every thing was ok I didn't answer her because my mouth was full and didn't want to be rude she said why didn't you say anything before. My pizza was cold she asked me if I would like another one but I said I just wanted it hot the other half,if I had a staff member like her she would definitely not have a job in my pizza place,

Had an enjoyable meal here but found the service slow.

Really good atmosphere, service and food was as good as always. Been as a large group and as a smaller group, both times service and food were great and staff were very friendly.

Delivery time kept getting moved and when arrived pizza was stone cold,bit disappointed really as it was my first time eating there

For nearly £15 the pizza looks ridiculously small. The staff mentioned that standard classic American is 10-11 inches, but when you measure it it’s even less than 10.

Lovely food just a little cramped

Came here for dinner at the Beverley restaurant and the food was fantastic really enjoyed it all, we had the pleasure of been served by Paul, he made us feel really welcome was super friendly and gave us some good recommendations from the menu, made the whole experience better. Thanks again Paul.

The Beverley restaurant is one of the best. Much better than my local one.

Prices too high! A can of fanta £3.85! What the hell?! We Spent £21.85 on drinks! £80.00 on food! Way too expensive!

Nearly £4 for a CAN of coke!! What the hell, if your gunna rip me off at least pour it in the back. Also, my milk allergy child was given garlic butter. It was a good job i spotted it and grabbed it quick.

We had a lovely lunch in this restaurant. Pizzas were piping hot, freshly made and very tasty. I had salad nicoise which was very filling....didn't need the doughballs. Staff are fun and friendly.

Excellent. The pizzas are 2nd to none. The service is excellent and especially enjoyed eating in the outside setting which is a rare evening experience in the UK.

This review does not relate to this order one since, and another previous attempt. Twice now, Just Eat has accepted my order with Pizza Express, when there were clearly no drivers available. I called the restaurant twice. First, 1 and a half hours after placing the order and again at 2 and a quarter hours. My order had not even been prepared because at no point was a driver available. No one wants to take responsibility- have been completely fobbed off.

2 hours and twenty minutes ago I placed an order via Just Eat for delivery. I called the restaurant twice and then received a text to say my order was cancelled. I appreciate this ‘system’ may be beyond the control of the local restaurant staff but to Pizza Express head office, this is the second and last time this has happened. Accepting orders with no way of delivering them is totally unacceptable.

Visited for lunch with my partner and sons. Service was very slow, and no atmosphere in the almost empty place. Unfortunately is only got worse from there, both my partner and I were presented with burnt pasta dishes. Who manages to burn pasta?! And then we found thick facial hair in my partners dish that had obviously come off the scruffy looking chef whom was not wearing a hair or beard net. Once it was finally addressed and we got the absent waitresses attention (no initial food checks for the meals!) She deducted the dish from our bill. I will not be revisiting this establishment, as food and hygiene practises seem questionable.

Very good food, staff good, but not very attentive, pretty quiet and not busy in the restaurant, atmosphere felt a bit dead.

Been a regular guest of pizzas expresses for about 30 years. The beverley site is very good, always feels very clean and organised. Decor is great and a little different. Food is always consistently good. Service is friendly and accommodating. I usually visit with my sign who has lots of energy and lots of questions about everything. The team are always very patient with him especially with special requests. Would highly reccomend, especially to sit upstairs

Paul and staff were great. The food was delicious! We had a wonderful time, we had very different meals, all were good, we’d strongly recommend it.

We ordered a take-away from Pizza Express Beverley, which was very disappointing! The flavour was there, but all the items were extremely cold! Considering we live about a 2-3minute drive away from the restaurant, it was unacceptable considering it cost us £40 for just 2 of us! We will not be getting a take-away from here again.

Came to pizza express today with my family and Amy served us. She was so lovely and polite and was so patient with our very fussy family! Her customer service was spot on. I asked who the chef who made our food and she told me that finlay did. The food was gorgeous! Both a credit to the team!

Bit of a weird layout. Server was excellent and I was a bit stingy on the tip because the rosemary was left on my wife's pizza when she asked for it to be removed. Quite pricey for a chain in my opinion.

Could have been a bit warmer but overall very good.

All cold and pretty much not edible

Unfortunately not very hot even though we only live a few mins away and the tiniest pat ever of garlic butter to go with the dough balls. Although the pizza is nice it is overpriced for what it is

Freezing cold restaurant ... out for special birthday treat, the restaurant was so cold we ate as fast as we could and left, server very unhelpful when complained about the baltic conditions... £97 to eat pizza in coats frozen

Gave me the wrong order and have not received a refund

Just seems way too expensive. £35 for a couple of small boxes of dough balls and a couple of pizza that were ok at best. They can’t be serving this inside surely. I won’t order to takeaway again

Very nice food drinks rather expensive but overall very good

Good atmosphere for having dinner with family. Friendly and attentive staff waiting to serve you and your family. They have plenty of space, but it will be better to book in advance. I always use the Pizza Express application to reserve and get the rewards every time I visit.

Abysmal, the pizza was not cooked, chevy even the cheese didnt melt. Shame

Very expensive for what you get..order wasn't right when brought to the table..food was fairly good..

Nipped in for a pudding and coffee, ended up having dirty dough balls as well, highly recommend these they are spicy garlicy and unctuous. The staff is welcoming helpful and charming and the new service app offers great discounts and an amazingly easy way to pay. All in all a great experience.

They contacted me to say no pineapple salsa for the hawaian hot pizza. Pizza only 10 inch not made clear on ordering. Very expensive for small Pizza. Not bad quality though.

Went to Beverley branch with 9 others in the family. Table was crammed in and I was right up against another table with people trying constantly to get past and knocking me. Very noisy and unfortunately slow service, probably as a consequence of there being too many customers.

Pizza Express used to be very nice, but it's certainly gone downhill since I last went. I chose a margarita (thin) and it was so thin it was like a flatbread! The cheese was somehow cooked too much so it looked like a parmasan tuile on the top of a tasteless tomato sauce with one basil leaf plonked on top. It was also very pale and insipid. Very underwelming. I could have bought a supermarket pizza that was better. Halumi fries were like blobs of cream cheese with breadcrumbs on. The drinks were astronomically priced too. No wonder there was only one other table of people in this huge restaurant.

My food left the store ( 6 mins away with traffic) it took 32 mins to get to me and I had to put it in the oven when it arrived as it was cold. I have never had a hot pizza from this store.

Delivery time kept being updated later and later and then on arrival it was cold :( I live about 5 minutes round the corner but am really unwell so ordered for delivery, I'm not sure if it was walked round but it was cold on arrival and I'm currently re heating. It was cold I live 10 mins away and the food was cold and houlumi fries were soggy as well as cold. I’ve called pizza express to complain but they have directed me to you I paid £30 and expected a hot pizza and crispy haulumi it’s was poor poor poor

Familly event. We had starters and a main which were both excellent. The service and atmosphere were both very good with the waitress being attentive throughout.

Went for a late lunch, delicious food, unbelievably quick, sat outside but there was rather a smell of bins out the back! Shame.

Ordered a takeaway, delivered on time but the pizza was tasteless, dry and just awful no idea what they did with it but disgustingly. The chicken wings soaked in fat. Waste of money and will not be using again! Awful

A brilliant night with 10 friends. Food delicious & staff friendly and helpful. Though a big party they had no problem accommodating us. Can’t recommend highly enough.

The food was delicious but it was a really long wait. One of the waiters didn't even notice that we had arrived, when we came in and the other continued to serve. A small acknowledgement that we had arrived would have been nice.

Took a chance to see if they had a table and luckily for us they had. We were served quickly and efficiently by friendly helpful staff and we had 3 delicious pizzas.

The food was very nice but the service was quite poor unfortunately. It was a long wait for food when the restaurant was not that busy. We had to ask twice for a drink before it came, then at the end of the meal sat for ages while staff came and went and didn't take our plates or ask if we wanted anything else, or the bill. In the end we had to just leave our table full of empty dishes and go and pay at the desk. No apology from the staff member dealing with bill. A shame the service was poor as this was the only problem. Not a place we'll be in a rush to visit again unless we hear from others that the service has improved.

Service was very prompt and friendly. Food was great as always. Lovely meal in the outside seating area.
