The pizzas were amazing, such good value for money. Our waiter Carlos was so lovely and attentive!

Such a good time with a dear friend, I had a sloppy guiseppe and it was delicious, hot and fresh. Carlos was our waiter and he was magnificent. Thank you for having us!

Food was ok but the service was terrible. No staff. Poorly managed. Will be amazed if this survives 2025.

Excellent experience and good atmosphere

Our experience at Pizza Express was made exceptional by the amazing service. I got a nduja calzone and it was delicious, fresh, and full of flavor, and Matteo’s attentive, friendly presence made everything even better. Recommended, especially with kids, who just lived the menu!

I recently visited Pizza Express and had a fantastic experience, thanks in large part to Mateo, who made our visit exceptional. The pizza was delicious, with fresh ingredients and a perfect, crispy crust. Mateo was attentive, friendly, and provided excellent service throughout our meal.

Matteo was an amazing waiter, very kind and passion, specially with my child.

Barely warm when it arrived thick like a brick hardly any flavour. Waste of money.

Pizza was stone cold, paper thin, dry, and HARD. Inedible even after trying to reheat. Very poor. This was ordered as birthday meal , very disappointed

Fabulous place for family dinner

Not happy about the quality of the food - pizza was completely different than the one you get in store.

Quiet lunch time so limited atmosphere but the pizza are knockout!

I came here with my partner last week, we planned to come here as I have a O2 priority offer. I had asked the young waitress who served us if the offer was valid which she wasn’t sure but found out that it was for us. We ordered from the menu on classic bases which took some time to come out but wasn’t far too long… pizzas were nice but found red onions to be a little raw and not cooked. Nevertheless we enjoyed our time here, once we were ready for the bill unfortunately the waitress had finished her shift and not spoke to the current staff about our offer which caused a slight bleep but was sorted in the end. I would still recommend PE for a local pizza although I did find prices were a bit steep being around the £15-£18 mark..

Both pizzas arrived cold and one of the garlic butters was so melted it was liquid.

Very refreshing, service was good . The pizza was delicious ..loved the garlic oil. The Brushetta was divine.

We wanted no cheese on a pizza but there was no option to remove. We called the restaurant after placing the order to request this. They called back to confirm as they were making the pizza. Fantastic service and great pizza for our complicated household of one vegan, one gluten free and one cheese hater.

Great pizza, great service and a lovely atmosphere :)

first time at this PE location, but have had PE many times at other restaurants, this is the worst I have had. Out for pizza with a friend in Herne Hill 9.30-10.45pm on Fri 11th May 2024. after a wait of a minute or 2 to be acknowledged, we had a friendlyish welcome. From then, the waitress who served us gave minimal friendliness, no effort to create an environment where we felt welcome to eat. NO checking if everything was ok, or allergies. Ordered a pizza to share, they had to go away and get a second plate when it arrived despite it being on the order. My friend was ready for dessert before me so asked for a billionaire sundae with no chocolate, it came with the chocolate on top, the waitress slid it on to the edge of the table sideways with no words of 'here you are, enjoy' or anything of the like. We then waited to get attention of staff & asked a different waitress for an alternative ice cream because it had come with a chocolate on it, she took it away and took the order for different option. (We had both finished pizza and plates were clear at this stage.) The first waitress came back to confirm, and brought the ice cream over, again with little friendliness and walked away. She didn't check with me if I then wanted a dessert, it took over 5 minutes to catch her eye again to order some ice cream for myself, again it was placed in the middle of the table then pushed towards me, with no warmth, it was a smaller amount than my friend and I had to spit out the strawberry piece on top as it tasted mouldy. Staff were side tracked with delivery orders at times which was off-putting. When the bill came the sundae was still charged for despite the no chocolate request not being fulfilled and it being inedible by my friend. We didn't challenge it, but am bringing to your attention, the service failed these two customers on this occasion. All in all a disappointing experience. The second waitress was more friendly and attentive, but the mood around the experience had been spoiled already by the actions of the first. The pizza was perfect!

Pizza is disgusting..and garlic bread...don't order anything from them.. No one answer the phone.

Pizza base was far too thin, asked for classic but the base was more like a crepe with toppings. The cheese and toppings just came away when trying to slice pizza. Ended up having to fold it over like a calzone to stop the cheese and toppings from falling off. Normally i never have an issue with pizza express but today I'm really disappointed with the quality

I have never seen colder pizzas and doughballs which have not been in the fridge. The cheese was solid on the pizzas and the dough balls could not even make the butter soft

We went here for valentines, and the service was appalling. At first the waiter misunderstood our order so we had to wait for them to make another pizza, and then we were waiting for a whole hour for the dessert menu after we had already asked for it previously. This is the second time it happens now, and frankly we won't be going back again. The waiter, someone called Carlos, kept coming round to the tables next to us and making eye contact but we were ignored for the whole evening, even after signalling for attention. We left there very disappointed and felt neglected. We then also paid online so we didnt have to wait again for someone to come to pay the bill, and the waiter again just checked on the screen to see we had paid and looked at us, which made us feel pretty stupid, and when we left he didnt even say thank you for coming or anything even though he was standing right by the door. Terrible customer service, and just feel quite disappointed as we've always loved going to pizza express

Big mistake, despite Herne Hill having some of the best Pizza places in London, I tookn the children to Pizza Express thinking it would more ' kidfriendly', we waited 40 minutes, only to be served with the wrong order, and the pizza were mostly crust with nothing on top. Unapologetic staff, who told me they were going to 'make a favor' by bringing me the correct order, but I may have to wait... just awful service and pizzas.

Take away. Romana crust not well explained. Too thin for me. Will stick to the Classic.

Was given excellent and warm service by someone called Matt. Felt right at home!

Areas for improvement: - multiple items were out of stock eg Orange Juice, chocolate sauce - tables numbers not out on tables so have to ask for the app - pizza boxes for take away are just piled on one of the tables in the middle of the restaurant, don't really expect that from Pizza Express. - toilets broken, both men's and handles upstairs.

Pizza delivered cold. Pasta had oil/butter leaking from container.

Stone cold! Is there another way of keeping it hot? We had to warm the oven and put the pizza in on 2 occasions, which does not help the flavour.

Given welcome at entrance, could choose where to sit, helpful food suggestions from Sara C. Food was well presented, served at correct temperature and tasted delicious. Sara C, checked with us, everything was ok and we were happy with our food. We declined dessert but were able to sit and enjoy our wine. Thanked for our custom on leaving, and we left feeling valued customers. Restaurant is extremely clean and tables well maintained. Excellent dining experience, will definitely return

Just had a late dinner here and had to write a review because I think it’s the best pizza express we’ve been to! Hot honey Doughballs and tomato mozzarella salad were delicious, lasagne was piping hot, but the service from Andrea really made our meal! She was so lovely and attentive. Thank you Andrea! Will definitely become my go to pizza express from now on 😄

Warm welcome. Great staff, helpful and friendly. The food (spicy Giuseppe and a chicken Caesar salad shared between two) was perfect and really tasty. Early doors on a Thursday was a bit noisy, but there were quite a few kids having dinner. Everywhere was clean, including the toilets. Very good all round. The loyalty scheme makes it quite good value for the quality of the food, somewhat expensive otherwise. Will return.

They're so lovely and accommodating and friendly. It's a nice place to bring the kids, and taking up on their offers is great, too. Brought my 1 year old for her birthday, and she loved it. The food came hot and tasty. I recommend it for a mid week cheat.

I took my son to Pizza Express Herne Hill last week. It was great so I wanted to leave a review to say how good the service was from Matt. It was a memorable experience for my son & delicious pizzas! It’s one of the better pizza express we have been too.

The order did not turn up at all! The driver stopped near my house then turned around and drove off. So we paid and then waited all that time and it never showed. Will be requesting a full refund.

We can recently with our 3 kids for my sons birthday. The staff were brilliant at putting us at a great table at the back but were still very attentive. Our waiter Matt was fantastic. He really looked after us and made sure the kids were happy. Food was great. Service was quick. We will definitely be returning.

Ordered online. Pizza was cold and super greasy. It’s not the first time that this happens. A couple of times I was sent a burnt pizza. I’m not sure if they do not care because it’s being delivered rather than eaten in?
