Pizza Express in Harlow

Every time we come here we have great time.

I've been very pleasantly surprised. Excelkent service from the staff. Food is outstanding. Lovely atmosphere. You must visit Pizza Expeess Harlow. A real gem.

Had dinner with my wife and in laws and it was fantastic food with the food cooked to absolute perfection. We all had the crispy pizza the Romana and it was wonderful. Thankyou to Liam for his service

We were welcome by very cheerful manager. She told us her name is Agnes and our waitress will be Flick. We felt like we visited this place many times it was so welcoming. It was our only first visit but definitely we will be back very soon

Guido was really friendly and attentive and made my daughter and I feel really welcome and relaxed. The restaurant was short staffed but Guido was more than capable and remained pleasant and helped entertain a couple of children at two different tables too. I would say he is a credit to Pizza Express, nothing was too much trouble! He looked after us well and oh yes, the food was really delicious too! The truffle dough balls were amazing! Thankyou for a lovely evening!

Ordered online,tried to call them to tell them not to put cheese on the potato dippers called straight for about 15 minutes NOBODY THERE ANSWERS THE PHONE Food was cold won’t be reordering AWFUL SERVICE!!

I had to wait an hour and 25 minutes for my order, and despite repeatedly trying to call, I couldn’t get through to anyone. Pizza Express responded to my review, attempting to shift the blame onto the delivery company—but that’s simply not true. The delivery driver accepted the order quickly, and I could see they were waiting outside the restaurant. The real issue lies with Pizza Express. I’d like to know who they plan to blame for their failure to answer the phone—surely not the delivery company again? This experience was incredibly disappointing.

I cannot comment on the food as we didn't get any. We walked into this empty restaurant around 1.00pm lunchtime. Sat down and was asked if we had booked, we hadn't. All other restaurants along this parade of shops were full so Pizza Express it was. Only to be told they not taking walk ins until 4.30 pm. However as I explain to the member of staff that the restaurant was empty apart from one lady with her child on a table surely they could fit us in. But no because we had no booking and they were not taking walk ins. We were absolutely gobsmacked and went to Pizza Hut instead where they were busy and managed to fit us in. All I can say is that Pizza express must make good profits on empty tables. We won't bother with this place again.

One bite everybody knows the rules! All flop. Too sweet, under cooked.

Been a few times in the past and had half decent experiences but the last 2 visits have been awful. Service is terrible and has gone seriously down hill. Clearly very short staffed and on many occasions on both visits I had to get up to find someone to order or chase things up. Orders messed up, forgotten drinks and no one around. Staff literally by the kitchen/bar area all the time and don’t regularly go around the tables to make sure everyone has been taken care of. Tonight loads of tables weren’t cleared and the whole restaurent looked a mess. Many customers seemed unhappy, constantly trying to chase things up. Would avoid this pizza express, better to stick to the Epping pizza express as always had great experience there for food and service. Had every intention to speak to the manager but by the end of it, couldn’t be bothered to wait for them to come around and just paid on the app and left.

Unfortunately a shocking experience from start to finish. Service incredibly slow, it took nearly 40 minutes just to bring our dough ball starters out of which one portion was burnt and had to be returned. The main courses, especially the pizzas represent appalling value for money. £18 for pizza of this quality is just unacceptable and the size of the kids portions on the piccolo menu are minuscule. £80 total bill for a celebratory meal was a complete waste of money.

Visited pizza express yesterday with my family. Staff were extremely friendly and food was cooked perfectly! The service was quick and all staff were so helpful. Will definitely be returning

Food was great as usual, service however was on another level, a very very low level, it is a shame I can’t rate as zero stars, one is one too many. I may as well have been invisible, the waitress was very happy chatting to staff in the kitchen and cleaning tables but not once did she look in my direction to see if I wanted another drink…20 minutes it took and that is after taking payment from a table nearby. Wholeheartedly would avoid this particular site of Pizza Express until further notice…awful service, verging on rude.

Really disappointed, young waitress was lovely, £18 fir a pasta dish with rubbery prawns and no taste to sauce, manageress made us wait 10 minutes before even asking if we wanted a drink never mind food, then started clearing tables instead of serving us, with only 6 people in the restaurant , will not be returning

Unfortunately the service was very slow. After being shown to a table It was 40 minutes before our oder was taken and I had to ask for a drink.

Our waitress Joe was so friendly and welcoming. Really enjoyed her company really made our evening. Thank you !! x

Nice child friendly pizza express! Not much more to say.

This was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had at a Pizza Express restaurant. I booked a table for three people at 7 PM on a Saturday night. The restaurant wasn’t busy, with only about 18 customers seated and most of the tables empty. We were seated, and after about five minutes, a friendly waitress took our drink and food orders. Two of our starters arrived, but the third one didn’t. We waited patiently, but after a long delay, the waitress had to remind the kitchen about the missing starter. Once we finished the starters (which were left uncleared on the table), my pizza was delivered by a different waitress, the other two mains were nowhere in sight. All front of house staff were congregating around the kitchen service hatch, so we waited again, hoping to catch their attention. After another long wait, we finally got the waitress’s attention to let her know that we were still waiting for the other mains. By this time, my pizza had been sitting for 6-7 minutes and was cold. A male member of staff then approached our table and asked what we were waiting for. We explained that we were still missing two main courses. At that point, as my pizza was stone cold, I asked him to take it away and cancel it from the bill, along with the side I had ordered. Since it was clear the other mains hadn’t even been cooked yet, we decided to cancel everything and just asked for the bill for drinks and starters. We made the man aware that our complaint was not towards him or the waitress and that there was obviously a serious problem in the kitchen. This is when he told us the head chef was on holiday and they had another chef to cover him. We won’t be returning to Pizza Express in Harlow again.

Wouldn't let me eat, despite half empty as short staffed

Came 7th Aug to Pizza Express - WATER GARDENS food was great, my daughter loved the menu. @PizzaExpress How will it ever be okay to have only 2 kitchen staff in the summer holidays, it delays orders and put everyone under pressure, the service team deserve a good medal for trying their best when clearly under staffed.

Waited over an hour for mine and my children's food. Wasn’t checked on to see if everything was ok food wise. The worst service I’ve ever witnessed. I eventually asked for it to be boxed up as I just wanted to leave. When we looked at our order it was pretty much slap dash. I will not be eating here again.

To “General Manager” worst service of my life, an hour of waiting for my order, it never came, they forgot to give my order to the chef, I had to go to another place for lunch, slow service, Bad management! Never go back! the waiter in black is unhelpful and yes the general manager check the CCTV and you will see poor and slow service concerning me

I came here for dinner with my family, i saw multiple waiters and waitresses sitting down and not doing anything. I waited an hour to be served my starter and another 45 minutes to be served my main. The table was not cleaned even after my main was given to me. The food was lukewarm and several people came up to the door, waited at least 15 minutes and walked away. If i knew the service was like this i would have walked away too. I tried going to the toilet but they were all out of order so i sat though my half enjoyed meal while needing the toilet. People were seated but after the long wait to be served they got up and left!

I am from Tabasco, Mexico and an extraordinary place to eat, the pizzas are delicious. The staff who attended to us were extremely friendly and attentive. Nice comfortable place, 100% recommended. Lovely decor, but the place lacks atmosphere. Staff were flat, and a missing delivery meant we could only have pizza - no pasta!

The kids had the best time. They didn't know they would be invited to make their own pizzas! The waitress was really lovely and great with them. Amazing service, and the food came really quickly and was really good.

Had a lovely meal for my birthday at Pizza Express Harlow. Our lovely server Keeley was very efficient and friendly making the experience even better! Pizza was also good as always.

I went here for a birthday celebration with my friends, and the server Keeley made our experience so much more comfortable and enjoyable! She checked in on us, and was so friendly as well as easy to talk to. The pizza that we had was great also!

Entered the restaurant and was tended to by a very polite staff member. Ordered our food , which then took 30 mins to get a starter, and then an age to get our mains. Only when I approached a staff member, they put our pizzas in the oven (which were stacked, uncooked, with everyone else’s on a metal stand. We also ordered Polenta fries which were so undercooked we sent them back. In the end we had to put our pizzas in a takeaway box as we had plans. Would not return. It appears others had same issue today also.

Waited way over 45 minutes for my starter and dough balls and then i asked where my pizza was for them to lie and say its in the oven , then my partner had to go ask 15 minutes later for him to be told it wasn't even being prepared so at this point we was way over and hour where in the end we ended up leaving as was so hungry to go elsewhere

My visit to Pizza Express was a letdown from start to finish. The waiting time was excruciatingly long, with no end in sight. To make matters worse, the staff displayed rude behavior, adding to the already unpleasant experience. It's disappointing when a restaurant fails on both service and attitude fronts.

Dined in the Pizza Express, water gardens branch today for lunch. Jo was an amazing server! Her personality and attitude added an amazing touch to my day. Despite being understaffed and working on her own. Jo still made sure to make all the customers around us incredibly happy :)

Serving staff were lovely and helpful but food not the greatest. 3 out of 4 pizzas were extremely crispy (cheese totally solid on pizza and gave your teeth a good workout). The egg on one pizza,which is supposed to be runny, was solidly cooked; very few toppings on the other 2. Desserts were very nice but the coffee tasted like flavoured hot water. Not sure pizza express, which has always been quite pricey but nice, represents any sort of value for money now - would have been better to buy their versions from the supermarket and eaten at home. Didn't complain at the time as it was a birthday treat but wouldn't visit again.

Food was okay, but experience was stressful Part of our group of 10 was sent away on Mother’s Day being told there wasn’t a booking, until proof was shown and then begrudgingly sat us at a table! The service is very slow and it took nearly an hour for the pizza to come, do not recommend this place not coming again.

Big up to the bulky ape fella that cooked the most lucious gammon and jerk chicken. He convinced me to try pineapple on my pizza! Shame about his music taste though blinking frick this guy needs to move on from 2020 TikTok’s songs. Bombaclaart!

Food is never ready, very long wait, unprofessional staff, kitchen staff filthy and always chatting about, when it's a live kitchen.

The Harlow team is so welcoming and attentive the food was delicious and I love the vegan options available
