Pizza Express in Stockton-on-Tees

I love coming to this pizza express however the manager here has a very rude manner about him. He’s not helpful at all and doesn’t treat his customers with respect. This is the 2nd occasion this has occurred. All the other members of staff that we have ever encountered have been very sweet.

Pizza was good and service fine on a busy Sunday lunchtime 26th January BUT my wife then suffered excruciating diarrhea and vomiting afterwards having been served extra chicken with her beetroot and ,(missing) goats cheese salad. Had yoghurt for breakfast and we can't identify any other possible reason. Better but exhausted this morning....

Was Served my a person Called Kai I believe his name was. Had such a pleasant manner and was happy to help with any request. 10/10 marks Food was delicious although I do feel like they could sprinkle extra cheese over the pizza and make it more adverted worthy. However an overall of an experience was 9.5 out of 10 personally.

Enjoyed a great night at Pizza Express Teeside Park on 7 December. Linz and the team were all excellent.

Found pebble like hard little ball in a pizza. Made a complaint and the waitress didn't care or resolve the issue, so we just paid and left. Food is not great for the price too.

Basic pizza at high end prices that seemed an expensive disappointment. Doubtful I will return

Granddaughters 3rd birthday. Staff were perfect and looked after everyone really well. Great venue

We went here on New Year's Eve and we had a lovely meal and a lovely time, Abbie was amazing, she was so attentive and her service was fabulous even though she was rushed off her feet. She made our experience and she was lovely with my kids who have a lot of food allergies. The food was lovely and they were great with the allergies. We will be back again, it’s my son’s favourite place. Thank you for a nice night.

The waitress Abigail was absolutely amazing, such great hospitality and just great at her job, lovely girl and was doing as much as she could because the other staff weren't really and just let her do all the work. Deserves a well earned rest. Lovely

My brother and I stopped in on a whim as we haven't been to a Pizza Express in at least a decade. The atmosphere was quiet but pleasant. The décor was modern, sleek, but had a character about it that was nice. The server Paul was polite, and attentive. And the chef Mike appeared to be focused on his work and got out both our order and everyone else's order in a really timely manner. The food was delicious. I was pleased to learn that the food at Pizza Express is substantial yet provides a slightly more refined and upmarket alternative the usual pizza places that I often frequent. I forget the named of what I ordered, but it was delicious and done well. The toppings were ample but not overbearing. I wolfed it down. As my brother finished his pizza, I carpe'd the diem and ordered the Tiramisu, although I didn't have one, I enjoyed how Paul asked if I would like to order a hot drink as accompaniment. I thought that was a nice touch that aimed to enhance my culinary experience. I was a little bit apprehensive when I noticed that the Tiramisu appeared to be pre-prepared has simply taken out of the fridge and sprinkled, but when it came to my table, my worries were put to rest. Was it the best Tiramisu I have ever had? No. Was it a delicious way to end my impromptu lunch at Teesside Park? Absolutely. And again, prepared in full view of the customer which I find to me a really nice touch. All in all, a lovely lunch.

Expensive for what you get. Over 3 pound for a can of Fanta.

Stopped for lunch to get out of the bad weather. Was a warm welcome, food was delicious. Our waitress ABBIE was lovely, polite and friendly.

Mushrooms wernt cooked, little to no mozzarella, freezing cold, or thinnest pizza I’ve ever seen. “Garlic and truffle” dough balls where literally just dough balls get new kitchen staff 💀

Listed over weekend with my family food was lovely and the service was great linzi was really lovely and helpful kids loved her thank you so much will deffos be back

Slow slow slow, I have no idea what's wrong with this branch. They are just so slow at getting food onto tables. Nearly 2 hours for a "quick" lunch. Avoid and perhaps a dip in sales will get them the training the kitchen and waiting staff need.

Used Pizza Express at York outlet today as a first ever visit. Supermarket pizzas are much better and they are not great. My first and my last visit paid 50 pounds for pizzas that are worth less than 20 pounds. Never again.

Order 1 hour 15 mins late even though ordered in advance (3pm for 4.45pm delivery). Had to give child something else as too hungry to keep waiting.

delivery driver was about the nicest thing about this order lovely and polite food quality was atrocious I think they spent more time on the packaging than the quality off the food

The food always tastes great and the staff couldn’t be more helpful and friendly. My only criticism is the restaurant chairs at Teesside Park Pizza Express are very uncomfortable. Please think about getting padded seats.

Wouldn't serve this overpriced crap to a dog. Chips had the consistency if cus cus didn't receive my sauces got 2 lemon sauces which are for calamari not for pizza and both were opened chios wwre definitely old and food was cold stupid price of £70 quid 😹😹😹😹😹😹 I wouldn't mind if the food was good it's not even edible

12£ joke. just an expensive bread,the pizza was not even half with the toppings. the mozzarela was almost inexistent ,one piece of it was just with the tomato sauce and more than sure they use just one piece of ham for the pizza. the real one is nothing like the pictures. don't recomand ,very dissapointed.

I ate here recently and would like to send my compliments to the chef Yasmina I believe her name was. My goodness the pizza she made, as soon as it touched my taste buds I was transported to the hills of Italy, it infact brought a tear to my eye reminding me of my youth. I may go as far as to say she made the best pizza in the known observable universe and she should immediately be given a million pounds from Mr Express himself. However, I was not pleased with the attitude of one of the managers he was rude and demeaning to staff but it did not affect the quality of the food! Would recommend eating here

We went to Pizza Express for my nieces birthday and it was absolutely diabolical. The service was non existent and we had to ask to place our order, we had to ask for drinks and the quickest thing they did all night was ringing the payment machine when we got the bill. We were in the place for close to 2 and a half hours !!!!!!!!. Our nephew ordered a chicken vegetable pizza and when the bill came they had charged us £29 as they gave us a margarita and added every topping as a chargeable extra. We were not made aware of any of the offers that were in place so we paid full price for pizzas when there was a buy one get one for a £1 which was not advertised to us. The staff just seem to be walking around in a daze all night and didn't once ask if we wanted any further drinks or if we needed anything else. The staff in the kitchen looked like they were working hard and trying to get the food out so fair play to them. I don't mind at all paying a decent price for food when it's good quality and the service is good but paying not to shy of £200 for 8 people for a bit of pizza and a bit of cake is not my idea of value.

Terrible delivery again, driver couldn’t find our house, he couldn’t understand us giving him directions so so we had to drive out to find him on completely wrong estate. Food is cold and really disappointing for the price we paid for it!

I recently visited Pizza Express, and while the food was delicious as always, the experience was unfortunately let down by the service. The staff seemed overwhelmed, and it took quite a while for us to be attended to. When the food did arrive, it was tasty and well-prepared, but the overall service left much to be desired. To add to the disappointment, I later noticed I was double charged for my drink, something I only realised after leaving. It’s a shame, as the food was great, but the service definitely needs improvement.

So many replies to the negative reviews saying they will speak to their team about it… yet absolutely no improvement. Staff were rude and service was extremely slow - they cant even blame it on being busy as iv came to this restaurant when it was dead and still very slow. Forgot our starters, forgot to give us our drinks, and food was a solid 4/10. Potentially the worst Pizza Express ( and iv been to many pizza express, including this restaurant and it has never improved once). Not the first, second, or third time this has happened to us in this restaurant. I never normally write reviews even if they are negative but this restaurant is just a joke.

One of the most uninterested and rude staff ever. Not interested to serve. No passion. Nothing Food amazing but they forgot we ordered desserts for the children. Asked me if I wanted to pay the bill whilst she could see my feeding my child . Great food . Atmosphere drab. They were turning away walk in customers even though restaurant was half empty! Charged up for kids meals even though kids meals were free. Not happy at all. Still tipped the waiter only because of the food. Was about to enquire about the kids parties they do for October this year. Won't now as the service and atmosphere were the worst. Looking at the feedback of other people here on Google..and the CEO responding to them, doesn't look like great change has happened. Is this authentic leadership? We won't be returning to this branch. Shame because the food really was lovely. Restaurants are more than food. They are all about the experience and atmosphere. Sadly the staff couldn't care less. I wouldn't employ them if I owned the place as they are turning away business

This used to be my favourite restaurant the last few visits have been awful , I always get a legara pizza , it was all salad with a small ring of soggy tomato bread around maybe 3 inches wide , pizza express should take pizza out of their name , embarrassing for them

It's okay, nothing to shout about. Nice enough place. Clean, well laid out and provides a nice dining experience. Food is a little overpriced in my opinion. Pizza Hut is just better.

Shocking experience we had to ask to be served so we could finally get some drinks and order food. Starters came in good time, but we then had to wait about an hour for the main food to arrive and all we had ordered was 3 pizzas and one side, which an hour to wait for that is completely shocking in my opinion and I was very very tempted to ask for a refund and leaving having only had a 1/3 of my meal, I won’t recommended this place to anyone and it’s very unlikely I will return absolutely shocking considering there were 5 tables that arrived after us and received all there food before us

Sat waiting for ages, finished our starters an hour before food was brought out, when everyone else around was being served food who had come after us. Food ok service not better off going TGI across the road. Not even an apology, told us wasn’t even put in the oven

When I walked it was very fancy I noticed they were understaffed but they managed to get stuff done the pizza was great and at the end I left full and happy with my experience definitely coming back

Good food and drinks, and we got seated and served quickly even though we hadn't booked (2 people) and it was busy. There was an ordered extra topping that was forgotten about by one waitress who went home while we were there, but it was still itemised on the bill. The second waitress removed it without any issues.

The food was really nice. The atmosphere is great. The only thing that I have to mention is the service. Was not the best timing wise. The place was not busy and the staff was a bit slow due to the amount of busy tables. We will go again because we liked the food a lot.

I had the hot honey dough balls and my partner had the garlic dough balls instead of getting a starter, both of which were 10/10. We then got our pizzas after a short wait in the busy restaurant. I had the American with extra chicken topping. See I consider myself a pizza lover, an enthusiast my peers would say and that was probably one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had, my partner had the margarita both again 10/10 Coca Cola came in a real glass bottle too which is crazy for 2024 all round 10/10 experience

Theybserevvdrybdhortvstaffed but did their best.....had calamari to keep us going as was told only 1 chef n be a wait by time our pizza came I ..couldn't eat it it as was full...I would never normally go to a pizza restaurant and this experience has confirmed not to do it again. Nice staff friendly and helpful. Food poor. My lasagne tasted like a ready meal all sauce and no meat very bland. Credit to the waitress who did not charge me for it. The rest of the group did not rate their meals either. Sadly will not go again.

Great pizzas. Fiorentina with added anchovies was a perfect combination and pollo ad astra was perfectly spiced. Service was a little slow but we visited on a very busy lunchtime!

Lukewarm on arrival. Toppings all over the place. Loads of sauce at one end of pizza but none or not much at other. Same with the cheese. Very soggy as well

This was my 6yrs old choice having done ice skating very hungry now. I found the menu very confusing really thgt I was in a foreign country lol. Clearly listing starters and sides etc yet I didn't really get what meal was on offer. I like pizza but can only manage a small amount so couldn't order. So chose a starter of baked garlic mushrooms with a cheese over it. It was delicious. Not being as hungry as my family I decided a small side dish. Wow!! You must try polenta and Rosemary chips and served with a delicious dip. Served in a bucket Absolutely divine. More than enough for me. Defineately go back just for this and the starter. Photo hasn't turned out for polenta. Or the pizzas. I'm gutted sorry folks!!
