Decent High Street chain. Quick service. Varied menu with decent prices. Good at catering for various dietary requirements.

Definitely not the best Pizza Express experience in our life….Not warm enough in the middle of the winter and the food less than average….Chewy tasteless pizza…Good service

Pre booked food for party of 9 Xmas night out mentioning allergies..service was poor waited over 2 hours for the mains where one pizza arrived with no cheese! And the others were soggy in the middle.. The allergy information was ignored and food sent out containing this! We cleared our own table as there seemed not to be many staff..the waiter who then said he was the manager was very flustered and rude... Rubbish food and rude staff..don't bother even if you pre book your food you will be waiting hours!

shocking" pasta". Supposed to have had Pollo Parmegiano al forno pasta. This was not " al forno" it was just some few penne pasta (very small) portion thrown on the plate witn a burnt breaded chicken, pasta was COLD, no Gran Milano cheese no parsley etc.do not go here and do not buy such a thing as you will be out of pocket for nothing.

Kids pizza had hardly any cheese on it. One of the pasta dishes had so much sauce and some pasta tubes were burnt

The initial waiter huffed and puffed because we hadn’t pre booked….it was a Tuesday evening with plenty of empty tables not did they have to turn anyone away as we took up a table of 2. The pizza was a bit cold or went cold very quickly because of the cold plate and still tasted a bit doughy/slightly undercooked. Pizza express in Market Harborough is far better.

Racist man at front desk (shame if he is the manager!) seating people. Attiitude the moment we walked in. Passive Aggressive. Waiting for a table. White man walks in after us no booking. The seater person calls him "Sir and says I will.seat you in a booth sir." smirks down his nose at us. We get a table in the middle of the floor. The booth is for 2 to 3 people. After sitting down, we realised this seater man's white supremacist attitude was pretty rubbish. We got up and left. ahe smirked and never asked if everything was OK and watched us leave. The little Asian waitress asked if everything f was OK and if she could help. What a star. Here we are now sitting in another restaurant the best food in Leicester, in a great atmosphere with great staff. Pizza Express Management sort it out . We can't be the only ones. Call it Standing up Against Indirect and Direct Racism

Vino el domingo por la tarde a tomar una copa rápida y bolas de masa. Una hora después logró salir. Se pidieron bebidas y llegaron rápidamente. Pero después de 30 minutos sin comida a la vista y otra mesa al lado de nosotros que llegamos después de conseguir sus pizzas pregunté por nuestro pedido (de un plato de bolas de masa). Resulta que lo habían olvidado. Comida bien cuando llegó. Fue ignorado así que tuve que ir a pedir la cuenta. Mencioné que nuestra experiencia no había sido genial, pero solo una pena que voy a pasar a la gerente fue todo lo que recibimos. En realidad parecía que el gerente estaba justo a su lado cuando dijo esto, pero parecía totalmente desinteresado en intentar corregirlo. Numerosos intentos de llamar la atención de camareros y camareras fueron en vano y tuve que levantarme para hablar con alguien, no estaba ocupado en absoluto solo un puñado de mesas tomadas. Aconseja ir a otro lado.

Wanted a table for 4 there were plenty of tables available but the manager on the door seemed very reluctant to give us a table we did eventually get one but it felt very rushed and like they just wanted us out

Overcharged.. had 2 lunch time offers £12.00 and kids meal £7.95 and charged £ 12.90 for cola ?? Won’t be returning staff not happy and mangers standing around .. no crayons for menu given to children! Bill 49.50 !!! Didn’t notice till got home . Won’t be returning!

Very slow service, waited almost one hour for our mains. Asked the waiter how long the mains would be as we had plans, he said he'd check and then confirmed it would be around 5 mins. When I queried this almost 30mins later, I was accused of mishearing. Won't be returning.

La comida más horrible que he experimentado. Camarero grosero, 45 minutos antes de que llegara la comida, la comida equivocada, la orden paralela entregada 30 minutos antes de la comida y que nos preguntaran si requerimos condimentos al terminar fue un insulto adicional a la lesión acumulada. Solía disfrutar de este restaurante, pero nunca más. No estaba excesivamente ocupado, simplemente se sentía como si al personal no le pudiera importar.

Very good customer service! Our visit was a while ago now, but I have been meaning to write a review to praise the customer service. We came here for lunch before a show, and a noisy family with young children sat behind us. I have autism, so I am sensitive to noise, and was feeling overwhelmed/overstimulated. I asked the staff to be moved, but the lower floor was full of families, and the top area wasn't open yet. The manager very kindly/discreetly moved us to the top area which was a lot quieter. The manager/staff handled it brilliantly, and I am very grateful. The food was excellent, and we had a very enjoyable visit. We hope to come back again soon, thank you!

Staff were awesome .. They went above & beyond to assist us in our visit yesterday, just such a shame about the Actual Food 🍕 The food is so so bland blandy bland, there's no flavours in it .. I think because it's a chain franchise, they have to follow a strict protocol menu, I'm guessing .. Needs revamping & reinventing whoever's in charge .. Tipped the staff though because they were absolutely brilliant 101% 🍕 👎

We were celebrating our friend for her birthday our server/ manager (Vio) was so kind. He went above and beyond and made her day very special. He gave us a lovely dessert with a candle and even sang happy birthday to her!

Went for our friends birthday meal, service was wonderful , Vio was especially helpful and couldn’t do enough for us!

It's not as good as our previous visit. Service has gone down, even the basics weren't asked for , like top up on drinks, or if the food was ok etc. The food quality was good but the portion sizes have changed considerably smaller for the same money we were not pleased at all. We asked for some mayo for our little one but understandably they don't have any but instead we got charged for some garlic dip! Would I go again? In all honesty probably not.

First time here the pizza was really good, service was really good, the pizza was well cooked and my daughter loved it considering she doesn’t even eat pizza, would highly recommend, i did think it was a bit expensive for pizza and it was pretty small. They do need to start offering ketchup or some kind of sauce with the pizzas only thing they have is a chargeable garlic dip, so if you want ketchup take your own.

Delivery guy called the restaurant about the missing item, I spoke with the restaurant personnel. Restaurant told we can’t do anything speak with delivero customer support. Had a chat with delivero customer support, they didn’t do anything for my missing items. Neither restaurant nor delivero took the responsibility of the missing pizza. I decided to see these people legally as I collected all evidence.

Visitamos el restaurante Leicester para el cumpleaños de mi hija, estábamos sentados en una mesa para 5 en una cabina que tenía una temperatura similar a la del interior de un congelador. El restaurante tenía 12 personas sentadas en varios lugares, 2 camareras y 1 chef que estuvo picando cebollas durante los 50 minutos que estuvimos allí. Nos pidieron un pedido de bebidas donde pedimos una jarra de agua del grifo y le pedimos que volviera cuando hubiéramos decidido nuestra elección de vino. Después de 40 minutos le preguntamos si podíamos pedir bebidas y ella respondió en un minuto, nos fuimos después de 50 minutos de todavía esperando a ser servido. Absolutamente horrible servicio, una joven grosera que no sirve, prefiere estar maquillándose que hacer el trabajo por el que le pagaron. Incluso el chef que estaba ocupado cortando cebollas salió a sentar a un par a una mesa. Fuimos a Zizzi en su lugar y tuvimos una excelente comida. ¡Evite pizza express!

The food is always great. My favourite is the veg cannelloni. Great idea to come for lunch if you’re shopping in Highcross. Staff are always helpful and friendly.

Do not go to the Highcross Pizza Express! The service is absolutely diabolical! The manager - Viorel is the most arrogant obnoxious self absorbed man I have been unfortunate to meet! The food was awful! The manager was too interested in himself!!! Shame on Pizza Express for having such a manager representing their brand!! WE WILL NOT BE DINING AND WASTING OUR MONEY THERE AGAIN!!!!

Purely a delivery review. The sizes of the garlic etc dips are ridiculous. Has some manager told everyone to give way less than other stores??

Came today for lunch with some friends and Madhu gave excellent customer service. I really recommend going to pizza express. The vegan gardinera was amazing. Really recommend.

Basically it is expensive ready meals heated up.

Can't fault the service however the pasta dishes we ordered were small in portion size, expensive and had very little taste and the same for the chilli lime prawns. However the calamari and pizzas were lovely. If we return would stick to the pizzas.

Hadn't been into this branch for a while, completely different service staff who were inattentive throughout our visit. Some of our plates were cleared, some not. We had to ask for service to order our food, asked for plates to be cleared, asked to pay our bill, twice. Disappointing. Won't be visiting again.

Hace algunos años, era cuando se podía cenar en un Pizza Express y disfrutar de una pizza sabrosa y perfectamente cocinada en un ambiente elegante. Nuestra experiencia, visitando un par de diferentes restaurantes Pizza Express recientemente es que han bajado colina abajo. Esta vez, en la sucursal de Leicester High Cross, tuvimos dos pizzas diferentes, una en el clásico, la otra en la base Romana. Ambos estaban completamente empapados, sin ningún atisbo de crujiente. Esto fue en un restaurante que tenía una sensación de malestar al respecto. También desmereció la experiencia que aunque el lugar estaba menos de la mitad lleno, los comensales fueron coralizados en una pequeña área del restaurante, manteniéndose un área considerable vacía por alguna razón. Esto hizo que se sintiera lleno y ruidoso. Como nota positiva, el personal era atento y amable, pero esto no será suficiente para hacer una visita de regreso.

Didn’t accept Tesco Clubcard vouchers and the manager “Sunny” was rude about it. I wouldn’t bother with this place… Ruined the evening.

Food was quite bland - maybe we just chose the wrong thing. Gluten free base was unfortunately a very average gluten free base (have definitely had better elsewhere!)

Booked a table for 9.15pm on a Saturday night and arrived to be told the kitchen was closing and we'd need to hurry up. Mains arrived as we were eating our starters and when our plates were whisked away shortly after, we weren't offered coffee or the dessert menu. Our whole experience lasted less than 45 minutes and we didn't feel welcomed for a second of it 😔

Terrible service and management is appalling after 1 hour we had no pizza! Pizza exslow I call it!

The staff are outstanding but using the app here is tricky. I couldn't order a light pizza as part of the deal and was irked. Moving on though the staff were great and the food was pricy but good.

Served by Nicole well, prompt and friendly service. Good pizzas that weren't too oily and the cannelloni was creamy and well balanced. However they did not accept 2x £25 gift cards that were valid through to 2027 and would not budge, so had to pay ourselves. Nicole tried all of the machines in attempt to accept the gift cards but to no success, so appreciate her trying. The gift card website clearly shows Pizza Express as a participating restaurant so this was a shock. The manager was "new" to this restaurant and not welcoming nor sympathetic at all once he came to our table. Made my girlfriend and I feel like an inconvenience. The best he could offer was 10% off the total. Ruined a birthday meal and my girlfriend cried. Won't be returning nor recommending anyone to go there.

Pizzas are always fantastic one of my favourite places to go for eating pizza in Leicester! Always book in advance especially at the weekends as it gets very busy. The only criticism I could say is the service is a little slow at times and you do get spanked on the alcoholic drinks pizzas re out of this world though!

Come here every year for my big sister’s birthday. Not too busy, comfy chairs and a nice atmosphere. Calamari was quite rubbery and the tomato sauce was just like tomato paste out of tube but the pizzas, garlic bread and dough balls were tasty and so was the rainbow slaw and desserts. Toilets are also very clean and good friendly servers! I would definitely come here again.

I was really looking forward to my garlic prawn pizza, which delicious last time I had it. Unfortunately this time I could barely taste any garlic. The prawns were bland and the tomatoes were too sharp so I left dissatisfied. The service was satisfactory.

The service was great and not too busy for a Sunday lunchtime, however. The pizza was lovely and freshly made but the calzone looked bought in and more like a Greggs pasty without the filling. very disappointing... first time in a long time we have been back to a Pizza Express and think we will be sticking to the independent restaurants going forward.

This is a lovely restaurant, the service was excellent, not too crowded, and all round good except for my meal. Everyone else had Pizza which looked and tasted good jowever I had the Melanzane and I can honestly say I have never eaten such a bad one. In the past I rated PI’s Melanzane as the most delicious ever but this was simply dreadful. There were 4 pieces of roasted aubergine each with a teaspoon of cheese sauce on floating in what was clearly just heated up tomato puree with an excess of raw garlic in it. It was soo disappointing. I was expected a slow cooked layered dish of tomato, aubergine and cheese sauce, bubbling away and grilled on the top.! Come on Pizza Express, improve your receipe or just don’t serve it!!

So so disappointed. Ordered for the first time via Uber Eats. Both pizzas were cold by the time they arrived, ridiculously thin, soggy base, like a wet kitchen paper. Could tell the toppings taste nice but the overall appearance and presentation made this a big disappointment and unenjoyable. Not worth the price, and no incentive to ever order again or visit in person.

I did an uber eats and ordered pasta and hallumi bites. I paid just under 6 quid for the hallumi bites. And I only got a few, i am Disgusted!! And it needed more seasoning like salt and pepper

We booked for our Christmas party for the second year. Communication with Giuseppe was excellent and he was very accommodating of any changes we needed to make. Not a big fan of pizza express after ive had some bad experiences in other branches. Was pleasantly surprised they’re not all bad! Our evening got made by a lovely waitress Zivile. Such a bubbly personality and attentive service. Our pizzas were delicious too, definitely will be back!

Ate here the other night (6/12/23). Food and drink was lovely (I had the Snowball Dough Balls for dessert and it may be the best dessert I've ever had). What I loved most though was our waiter, whose name I sadly didn't get. He really made the evening for me and was just the best. I wish I had had the chance to thank him properly before I left but hopefully this feedback reaches him somehow. Definitely recommend this place, great food, well-priced for the quality of the food and above all, great service.

Pizza was ok. The dough ball's are now very small and that also goes for anything else that isn't a pizza.

This PE was more of a takeaway service than a restaurant. We waited over an hour as dozens of takeaways were prioritised over our order (with 5 children). Not impressed

Lovely place nice location staff were wonderful and helpful the food was lovely and delicious 😋 it came very quickly not much wait ,the atmosphere was great good mix of people would highly recommend this for a night out with partners or friends 😀

Firstly came in and was welcomed lovely by their staff and the mains were amazing however was waiting 40 minutes for mains asked the staff why it was taking so long and was treated disrepctedly by Zulie. Very rude doesn’t know how to treat customers properly apart from him it was a lovely experience

Came as a family of four with two young kids. We were welcomed in and sat down to our table straight away. We were served by Sebastian who looked after us and made we sure were okay. Very efficient and first class service.

Lovely place, came here when we got married and now come back for our 3rd year aniverssary, same agian wonderful service truly gratefull.

Usually can’t go wrong with an American hot romana and they didn’t disappoint. The good thing about PE is the consistency of the food as you always know what you will get and that you like it 👍 However went off piste for the starter and had the “new” mushroom and goats cheese which was very good but too small a portion. From a VFM point of view won’t be having that again unless doubled up in size 🤔. Staff were very friendly so overall we woz happy and content customers 🥳

We had the pollo pesto pasta at the Highcross Pizza Express today and requested the chicken to be taken out as we are vegetarian. The waiter said we can do this and it arrived with chicken in it to our horror. Me and my partner both ate a piece of chicken and we are pure vegetarians. I told the waitress what had happened and she didn't realise how serious this was and just said as a matter of fact that they will send another without chicken and asked whether she take the chicken pasta away! We felt they didn't understand how we are very strict with this matter as I'm sure there others who feel the same. There was no sympathy or compensation for our distress. We had mentioned to the waitress that we had accidentally eaten some chicken which was completely covered in cheese but there was no reaction apart from a robotic apology. We will never set foot in this place again!!!

I had the gluten free margarita pizza with various vegetables on it and it was delicious. The service was exceptional and we seemed absolutely cared for.

Great food. Plenty of options to choose from. Great taste as well. Had three different pizzas, the dough balls and a couple of drinks. Everything was amazing. Good ambience, plenty of seats and clean seating area.

We regularly visit before going to the nearby cinema, and it never disappoints. The staff, especially Luanna are so friendly without being intrusive. The food is consistently good at reasonable prices (and for those who shop at Tesco or have a Tesco credit card, you can swap your points for vouchers to spend here, making it even more reasonable). The best of the remaining Italian chains in our opinion.

Served by Sophie who had outstanding customer service skills and made our evening very special. If we came again we would love to be served by her!
