Ordered delivery, always enjoyed food here, always delivered quickly. Never any complaint, until today. Ordered fish and chips have many times before. The minute it was delivered the overwhelming smell of the fish was something else. Really very strong off putting smell. The fish itself was awful not any type of fish i have encountered in my lifetime. Unable to eat, the chips were horrible and stank of this horrendous fishy smell Basically ruined my Saturday supper and put me off ever coming back here again.

£36 for cheeseburger chips and a coke Plus a fish and chips And a single fish one portion of chips had 3 curly hairs in amongst the chips which put me off eating them immediately and the burger was just chewy and had to eat NOT WORTH THE MONEY AT ALL waaaay to expensive and pretty disappointed in the quality and the hairs in my food 🤢🤢

Just had delivery from Picante Fish Bar, had cod and chips absolutely gorgeous chips were proper chip shop chips and fish were fantastic, can you go up and show Applebys how you should cook chips.

The guy working there put a load of mayonnaise in the burger, and no salad, when I'd asked for the inverse of that. For some reason, he specifically asked if I wanted mayonnaise when I was ordering, and I specifically had to tell him no, so it seems an unlikely mistake. I'm not sure if it's just a really stupid joke or the guy's English is just really bad, so I don't want to be too nasty about him, specifically. In any case, weird mayonnaise man aside, the food's bloody awful. I've had them round the corner for a while, so I've dropped in enough times when warbling back from the pub on a weekend, and I really wouldn't recommend them - go next door to Masala 20 or Appleby's.

Best fish and chips in Portishead imho. However portion sizes have shrunk dramatically and yet still prices rise. It was the worst ever tonight with a large chips which is usually sharable by two only being enough for a small single - poor and frankly tight by stealth. I'll probably move to a more local competitor next time. Bad for business to get a rip off reputation

Takeaway food and service at its best. Pizza and chippie in one place satisfies our family on the rare occasion we fancy a takeaway. Friendly and quick service with great pizzas!

Best fish and chips we’ve had this year. Delivered, and still hot and incredible. Chips were fresh and chunky and the fish with batter is crispy and super yummy. 🐟🐟⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Plaice & Chips for five, delivered on time and piping hot. Excellent, good-sized fish, perfectly cooked, crisp batter (not soaked in oil). Chips from good potatoes, also not oily. Top quality - the best.

Staff are always polite and friendly. The pizza's are top notch and reasonably priced. Collection or delivery u will not be disappointed.

We have had takeaways there for years and the chefs are friendly and fast and the food is always delicious!

Used this takeaway twice in two days despite living just around the corner for twenty years. The food is simple but well cooked, the service friendly, welcoming and polite. The pizza is very good. I recommend Picante without reservation.

Terrible experience!! Used plenty of times before, probably 2 x a month. But tonight driver could not find our home and after 10 minutes of being late, I rang the store and the guy hung up on me...so I then had a missed call from driver, which I called and asked how long he had been waiting, I said I would only accept delivery if food was still hot. He arrived and it was just warm, so I offered £20, he rang his boss, who hung up after saying he was too busy! So I refused delivery and guess what, 10 minutes later he calls back saying boss will take the 20...haha NO WAY, TOO LATE. Will NEVER order again.

Absolutely top class pizza, restaurant quality. I reccomend the Pescatore. Service and delivery impeccable. Great range of traditional chippy food as well.

Disappointing blah, expensive and tasteless.

Decent takeaway, friendly staff, wish they would say 30 minutes prep time, rather than 15 when you order on the phone though, as normally end waiting around when collecting.

We were politely talking to them over the phone and they were shouting at us saying they were going to ring the police. We ordered two pizzas and on one of the pizzas had prawns on it when someone in the house had a fish allergy and was about to eat it. Then they replaced this prawn pizza with yet another wrong pizza in which then was wrong again and with bbq base which they said they couldn't supply before. Definitely not worth £40 for 2 pizzas and we called them in total 40 times of which they didn't answer. They said all they cared about is the business and not the customers.

Really disappointed. They supplied us with a pizza with prawns on when not asked for as we have a fish allergy within the household! My son was about to take a bite until we quickly stopped him! This could of resulted in a hospital admission or worse! When we phoned to explain the situation we were meet with the "not bothered" attitude! Avoid at all costs before something becomes fatal!

My Partner and I both ordered fish and chips from here this evening. The food is cooked to order so waited a short while until it was ready. Definately worth the wait, the food was cooked perfectly and was lovely and hot. If passing through Portishead again we will definately visit x

Since lockdown we have been trying all the local meal delivery options for our ‘new night in’ and wondered why this one had escaped us. Having seen a recommend, we tried the fish and chips, plus ice cream, and was very, very nice. Was easy to order via the website and cheerfully delivered within the delivery timeslot. The medium size fish and chips were indeed very generous and the cod and haddock beautifully cooked, all piping hot. The Marshfield ice creams went down a treat after.

We've eaten a lot more takeaways over Lockdown than we did before, and this has become our regular. They make great Pizzas at a fair price, as well as the usual British takeaway stuff and others. Their local competition is a bit of a rip-off to be honest, which pushed us to go to Picante in the first place, and there's no reason now to go elsewhere.

Beats me why anyone would go and queue in a chip shop when you can have delicious "cod lots" delivered straight to your door! We've been using Pizza Picante since we moved to Portishead a few years ago and we've never been disappointed. By a very long way, they serve the best pizza and fish and chips in town.

Poor quality food, very dry and undercooked chips we won’t be coming back

We recently moved to clevedon and used to live like 5 minutes from this wonderful wonderful delivery service. The food is effing lovely, portions are huge and the chips are a mile better than Appleby's next door (and don't get me wrong those guys also do a bloody good chip!) I am hoping and praying that they still deliver because the vast majority of take aways in Clevedon are a load of gash. Picante is well worth the extra price .. get it up ya.

Excellent pizza tonight from these guys. Always great food and the website is so easy to order through. The fish & chips is always decent too. Probably the best all-round takeaway in Portishead. Keep up the good work 👍

Traditional fish and chips no grease

Bit of a mixed bag first time ordering from here .pizza,s tasted good but bit on the cold side .garlic bread was like cardboard and not edible but the chips were great .was it good enough to tempt me away from domino's jury is out .

Was delighted with the Fish and Chips but the pizzas were so say according to their menu 'double pepperoni & extra cheese' Was not pepperoni at all it was a cheap tasteless alternative, possibly salami?? It was not the oily and spicy at all, very disappointed. Oh and it was definitely not double pepperoni either! £13.90...go to dominoes and get 2 for £20 with real pepperoni

Had order delivered, some of it was wrong so called and they came out with my order asap and no extra charge and insisted we kept the wrong item. Great service in the lockdown times & excellent food

Ordered 4 lots of fish and chips and double battered sausage and chips for home delivery. It arrived in around 35 mins and was steaming hot. The portion sizes were huge and the cod was pure white and flaky and absolutely delicious. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who fancies a tasty meal delivered to your door in good time.

Excellent pizzas, good quality and fast and friendly service. *Update* since my review a year ago I need to add that we have tried other choices from the menu and every order has been top quality. We've ordered several times since my first review and the delivery guys are still very polite and efficient. Best battered haddock for miles!

Great staff, fair prices, very rapid delivery! It is sometimes amusing how fast the knock at our door will come. Quoted "half-hour, forty minutes" there is always a smile between my wife and I as to whether they will come in fifteen or twenty.

Just walking through the door you feel really welcomed to this take away. The fish and chips are excellent, cooked to order. The pizzas are delicious and they do gluten-free bases. Have been getting take away from here for years now and have never been disappointed. Keep up the good work, guys!

Fantastic service, Fantastic pizza!

Read the reviews so thought we’d give it a try....wasted money. Completely lacking in taste, tomato base, cheese didn’t taste of anything. Undercooked and colourless, base had no crispness to it. The photo really is flattering Possibly the worst pizza I’ve had......only one slice eaten... bin.

I'm so glad I didn't go for fish and chips tonight and I went for pizza . I travel a lot with my work, and want to say that is hard to find a place with such good and tasty italian style pizza, Domino's or pizza hut is not proper pizza and I avoid these as much as possible. These guys make proper pizza. Fresh ingredients, cooked while you wait in shop or order for delivery.

Good fast food at a reasonable price.

Ordered a pizza, garlic bread and chicken nuggets and chips food turned up very quickly however I wish they took longer and cooked it properly, soggy grease under cooked chips pizza was nice once I put it in the oven for 10 minutes - not the best experience!

Fast efficient service, great value food. Three meals for just under £16. From ordering to delivery which was free just over half an hour food still steaming!!

Pizzas were pretty good, all made fresh while we waited

I had always been fairly happy with the pizzas from here, but last Saturday I ordered a pizza and the extra topping was missing. Mistakes happen, but I'm more disappointed that they didn't respond to my messages. It was only a small extra cost, but when you've made a mistake you should at least offer to refund it.

Have used Pizza Picante for at least 2 years. Always quality food. Lovely delivery guys. Great service. Better than any franchise.!!

Lovely pizza and the best fish and chips around. Amazing delivery service and reasonably priced. The restaurant is more than happy to adjust their recipes if you want something that isn't on the menu. Definitely my favourite Portishead take away.

Yum. Forget dominoes, pizza Hut et Al this is proper pizza! Thin Base, lots of topping and generous size. They also do fish and chips, which are soooo tasty. They don't deliver to nailsea for some reason, but they are easy to find, park and get your self! They do deliver to Portishead, Clevedon and around.

Staff are always very friendly, and food is prepared in very clean conditions. My only concern is that some of the delivery drivers appear unclean and appearances are important when handling food.

Pizzas are great but I'm afraid their deep fried food is not their best quality. The service is great and also their home delivery is good.

Was recommended to try their Fish and chips, so I did, fair play it was cooked fresh, but nothing to shout home about. The fish was large, but the thickness of tissue paper? Wouldn't go out of my way again. So haven't.

Visited this place as was staying across the road seeing family.We ordered a pizza, garlic bread and chips and everything was great apart from the chips which were undercooked which was a shame .

We phoned through our order & were told it would be ten minutes, as soon as we walked in our order was ready. Not even a ten minute wait - speedy service. Really good & tasty food.

Superb takeaway pizzas or delivered free of charge subject to min of £9.50 Margharita and festa de carni terrific! They always say 45 mins for delivery but it's usually much less than that. Staff very helpful - the large one takes some eating by two unless you are very hungry!

We ordered delivery while staying at the Travelodge in Portishead. For a smaller town pizza place they offer a user friendly website that makes ordering easy. Considering how fresh the pizzas were the prices are quite reasonable. Delivery was completed under the time quoted and the young gentleman who brought the pizzas had great manners and made me feel like a valued customer. Gotta love small town service. If in the area you should try Pizza Picante!

Once again a great fish and chips. Piping hot, crispy and delicious. This is not the first time they have excelled. I would happily recommend their fair. Always good always delicious.
