We have only just discovered this cafe and we have enjoyed meeting various friends here over the summer. If we want to meet old friends holidaying in the area this is an ideal place to meet them: on the main road, well labelled, plenty of parking, and of course lovely food. The staff are helpful and patient, e.g. with a group of ten, wanting coffee, then being enticed by specials to stay on for lunch, and all of us indecisive people. They are thoughtful as I arrive with my wheelchair, and move a chair out of the way so that I can sit at the table. A small gesture but it is lovely not to have to ask.

Limited menu and what they did have was limited. No Tuna melt and no tomatoes. The only thing that really appealed to me was the Sausage, Egg and Bacon Sandwich. Unfortunately you're not allowed them after 11.30.

Not a huge menu- but I’m my opinion I would rather that because I know everything is fresh. Me and my 3 friends had a variety of food ranging from panini’s to crab salad to lasagne. Everything was delicious and clearly freshly made. The garden we ate in is just so relaxing and lovely. Inside the cafe is really tastefully decorated and staff were very welcoming. We loved it so much we went back for breakfast the next day, and the following day for coffee and cakes! It will be a regular place to visit when we’re back in Sherringham.

So disappointing, this place used to be amazing! There is very limited choice now. My husband had the quiche with chips supposed to be Brie and sun dried tomatoes, it wasn’t. He said it was the worst quiche he had tried, chips were siggg and Luke warm. I had ham salad, far too much red opinion for me it was ver underwhelming, no coleslaw or anything to make it interesting. Not good quality for the price. It was our first visit for a while and we won’t be returning.

Have been on numerous previous occasions and have really enjoyed it. Shocked at the reduced menu options. Only item listed as vegan was a sausage roll. Was told if I wanted a meal they could put some chips with it. However as the other options for members of my party were so uninspiring - they no longer do burgers at all - we took our business elsewhere

Since it has reopened the menu seems to be very limited. They used to do a lovely full english breakfast, now reduced to a breakfast bap for £8.00. They used to have a brilliant selection of main meals and roast on Sundays, now reduced to a selection of half a dozen meals scampi & chips, ham egg and chips, fish cake and chips etc etc. Very disappointing compared to pre covid. We tend to go elsewhere now.

Went here for Sunday lunch, didnt do it! Ordered an Americano and soy milk, as I am lactose intolerant. Waitress took our order, brought my coffee, soy milk didnt look like soy milk. Had drunk half my coffee, another waitress came over, said to her was it soy milk and she said that they didnt have any! Awful, suffering now! Ordered fishcakes, sea bass, love sea bass, waitress came over and said that it was cod not sea bass, worst fishcakes I have ever tasted, had an outer casing on them that was solid, badly cooked. They were expensive anyway! Came to pay, charged for my coffee, which I only had half of as I thought that it was not soy milk and it was expensive. Waitress only apologised for the mistake over the soy milk, nobody seemed to know anything about lactose intolerance. Real shame, we have been there many times and it has always been excellent, standards are clearly dropping in the Covid crisis.

Visit here fairly often, especially on a nice sunny day as the gardens are very relaxing to sit with a cuppa. very nice scenery and a great menu, they used to have breaded mushrooms on the menu which were the best ever! however, they have since changed the menu and no longer serve them - which is a tad disappointing. This could so easily be excellent but the service is poor. Still waiting 20 minutes or more for a drink and placing orders for our lunch. We were visiting family in Cromer and a table for seven was booked for lunch @ 13.00 hours. The menu offers a reasonable choice of dishes and i chose the salmon and shrimp pasta for my mains followed by 2 scoops of mint choc ice cream. The pasta dish was very tasty indeed and had just the right heat from the chillies and the portion was so filling that I could not finish all of my sweet. The service was very good and there is a nice atmosphere within the wooden buiding. We shall certainly like to return again when we are next up this way.

Staff are always friendly and give good service and the food is very good. We had homemade soup for our lunch and I can honestly say it was the best soup I have ever tasted!! Visited around 3.20pm on a Friday afternoon. Looked at the menu and wanted to order a Cheese and tomato sandwich and a cheese, onion, tomato panini. Was told there was no hot food after 3pm - OK so 2 cheese and tomato sandwiches - waitress who was very sweet went away to ask about the sandwiches - no sandwiches either - all we could have was cake or scones which we did not want. So we just had a tea and water. I can understand them not doing main meals after 3 as they shut at 4 - but a sandwich!!! The waitress was very apologetic again and again, bless her. So if you want anything that is not a cake don't go after 3pm

I visit Sheringham every month and had heard that this cafe was worth a visit. I visited for lunch taking an elderly lady on her birthday. Fabulous attention to detail when I made the reservation, given that I explained that my guest had serious mobility difficulties. We arrived and were warmly greeted. We both ordered the crab salad. Just the best crab I have ever eaten. So fresh. Beautiful food and nicely served. Nice people working there and the atmosphere was lovely. I would have given 5 starts except for the one small, yet very annoying aspect. While the staff were making drinks they would pour out a drink from a glass bottle and then throw the empty glass bottle into a large bin. There was a constant clunk, clunk sound which seriously interfered with conversation. This would be very easy to solve. Believe me this was really loud and very annoying. That being said the food was great. Other diners food looked great too and portion sizes were generous. So to the management of the cafe please attend to this point. A real find and would highly suggest you give it a try if you are in the area.

We decided to pop in here on our way back to Sheringham from Cromer. The gardens are lovely to sit out in but as it was extremely hot and sunny we chose the only table left with an umbrella. Once we'd sat down this umbrella started spinning round and hitting me on the back of the head, when I asked a member of staff if it could be secured she said she was sorry but she didn't know how to! Fortunately my husband was able to fix it. We ordered 2 pieces of lemon cake, a latte and a weak cappuccino with no sprinkles. the young lady that had taken our order came back out to us to say only 1 piece of lemon cake left would we choose something else? We did but when the tray came out it had 2 pieces of lemon cake and a cappuccino with sprinkles!! The coffee was changed but wasn't weak and I couldn't drink it, the cake though was light and fluffy and most enjoyable. The service is slow and seems very disorganised each time we've been.

We had the Crab Mornay and it was delicious, coffee was nice and good size,I would definitely go there again if I were in the area. You don't need to go around the gardens, (they were beautiful) to use the Cafe. My only gripe is frozen chips, I would have expected freshly cooked chips from local potatoes but all in all, a very pleasant experience I would be happy to repeat.

We stopped for lunch here and was pleasantly surprised with the service and the food. I had a very nice Brie, bacon and cranberry baguette which was served with some coleslaw and chips, and a good sized cappuccino. The service was quick and very friendly. Overall would recommend.

We often call in here for lunch with the grandkids. Always plenty to choose from so no moans from the urchins. Good selection for adults too and it all appears to be fresh & home made. Loads of outside seating although some is not shaded. Inside is always clean and the service always friendly and efficient.Never a problem to get parked so this is often the easy option when deciding where to eat lunch with the kids.Prices good too.

We had booked meals for 14 of us there was a bit of a wait as one or two members late, but the meals when they arrived were more than generous and delicious. All if us were very pleased and will visit again. Adam The Manager was friendly and efficient and the staff were very good too. There is a decent toilet for disabled which is one of the reasons for booking. A very busy popular place to visit so advisable to book if you can and there are a few of you. Pre orders for more than 10.

Had a great lunch at The Priory Maze Cafe today. We pre-booked a table as we know it can get very busy but there was still plenty of seats outside should you just want to turn up. The service was very good even though there was a very large party in the Cafe. Food arrived within 20 minutes and was very hot and visually pleasing. I opted for the Veggie Burger (I have added a picture) but there is plenty to choose from including Panini's, Baguettes and Jacket Potatoes aswell as a selection of hot meals. It is quite expensive but definitely worth it. The Cafe itself had seating inside/outside aswell as benches and garden sofas in the garden. Did not use the toilet facilities so cannot comment on them but they are near the entrance of the Cafe. All in all a great lunch out!

Had a lovely lunch with parents and husband. Something suitable for everyone including a wide range of gluten free options. Meal was in my opinion reasonably priced. We had to wait for our food but happy to do so as all prepared fresh to order

Beautiful location and certainly kills a couple of hours for the kids.I come here a lot and have for several years. I often find the wait excessive, however the food is generally very good and the staff are polite. To improve the feedback a more speedy supply of drinks will definitely help. We understand that at busy times the kitchen will slow somewhat but there is no excuse for an often interminable wait for drinks and refills during these long waits.

I have visited this Tearoom a number of times. On my recent visit which they were extremely busy. When I arrived the waiter explained that there would be a long wait for our meal. We said we would order and wait. The meal as always was very good and value for money. They also had local Cromer crab on the menu. The menu has a wide variety of dishes to satisfy most tastes. The waiting staff were very good and efficient. It is well worth a visit

Called in today with my family prior to my sons 21st birthday as he is going on holiday with my ex-wife. I had the fish cakes, full of flavour and generous in portion size. My son had the burger and normally he can eat for England but he struggled and could not eat it all, the onion rings tasted more of fish than onion so I'm guessing they were fried in the same fryer that gets used to fry the fish and were not very pleasant to eat. My mother asked if they could do a crab salad (not on the menu) which they willingly did for her. When it arrived all the vegetables were cold but mother assumed this to be normal for a salad, but, is it? When we saw all the other finished meals plates being taken back there seemed so much left on there, could it be down to too much being put on the plates and not enough portion control in place?

Really enjoyed our trip, 2 children in tow, aged 9 and 5. Both enjoyed exploring the gardens and maze. Ponding dipping was fun! Cafe garden was nice and relaxed atmosphere. Staff friendly. Reason for for giving 5 stars was there was no menu/price list/indication of what was available and at 3pm there was barely any choice left.

We as a family of grandparents, parents and grandchildren had lunch here. We had sandwiches which come with chips and coleslaw. They were very good. The service from very young girls was excellent. We were fortunate to be able to sit outside in the lovely garden attached to the Cafe. Not the Priory gardens separate review.

Even though there was a wait on food (told to us as soon as we got in the door), the staff were very accommodating and the food was excellent when served. The food and drinks are reasonably priced and the setting is beautiful. Having said this, it seemed to me that the staff were rushed off their feet with the amount of work they had to do. Heard a few complaints from other customers and even saw one having a go at a member of staff! I believe that the management should not allow young girls to be treated so badly when they all seemed to be doing the best they could. Would definitely come again but I do hope the next time we do come that there are more members of staff as there are too many tables for only 5 waitresses - one of which was making the hot drinks.

Fantastic cheese and fruit scones! We cannot have enough of them. Friendly service. You can also get the scones at the market in Norwich or at a kiosk in the cathedral precinct.

Came here some time ago on a business trip where the three tired us were looking for a good spot of dinner after a long day of work. We had driven past earlier in the day and decided this was the place to be. Taking on the theme of a gastropub they have what you might expect for pub fare. Pies, burgers and some fish. We hadn’t booked but the place was busy, not quiet but they had a table for us. Staff were welcoming and helpful and were happy. Sadly, the only picture I got was of my mixed starter which doesn’t appear to be on the menu anymore. I might be wrong. But I was a vegan at the time so the hummus mixed plate was ideal. There is still the Plant-Based burger if that’s your thing. There’s a lunchtime, dinner and Sunday menu along with a specials board on the wall. They obviously host beers and ales from the St. Andrew Brewery which remains to be the only one in the city centre so worth a tipple and try. There’s also the typical pub range. We had a red wine with our dinner, after a couple of pints of Guinness. Overall, a nice place with a decent vibe and welcoming staff. Good menu and food was nothing too fancy but above par.
