Very bad food (Chicken not cooked), very unprofessional staff and above all very poor hygiene. I only took the food because I paid for it in advance via an app, most of which ended in the bin. AVOID!!!

This restaurant has new owners and so most of the reviews before 2019 aren't for the same restaurant. The original owner and chef etc no longer run this place. The food is OK in taste and the menu is quite big. But this place is nearly always empty so it's hard to tell on the freshness of the ingredients as there isn't so much turn over. Given the new owners have redecorated and expanded the menu considerably, I hope they grow their customer base

Double edged sword. The food here is great and close to one of the best in the area. Without a shadow of a doubt their prawn curry borders on phenomenal. What let's the place down is they do not honor discounts. I was first told you need to call in for a discount (not relevant), then told cannot bring your own drinks (not relevant) and then basically almost not served at all because I had a discount code. Like I said great food but if you cannot honor discounts dont pretend you will... its embarrassing

So, I've tried a lot of Indian restaurants in London, but this one takes the cake. Almost all of them I've tried before do make Indian food, but it's not the home cooked types. A taxi driver suggested this to me and I decided to give it a try...And I didn't regret that decision. Tried their chicken tikka fried rice, daal tarka and a cup of chai..And it was perfect. Though the ambience is pretty modest - it almost looks like a Dhaba, service is average...But if the focus is just food, then its the place to be!!!

This restaurant also has a BYOB option id you wish to carry tour own to save few bucks. May be due to this, I prefer the take away option as the food is good anyways.

Firstly it just goes to show that even a glowing review on Trip Advisor as well as hearing good things from friends isn't a guarantee. (See picture 1). So rather than our usual fairly mediocre saturday evening curry from nearby Anjams in Isleworth we took a chance and visited the Punjabi Karahi.1st impressions. ..yes a canteen style dining area as opposed to Anjams more usual typical Tacky Indian resteraunt decore. Not a problem I've been to some fantastic canteen style Indian resteraunts in the past.1st thing to note was a customer in front complaining that he would expect that being a restaurant they would have change when he paid his bill......They didn't. I was reassured when I saw the sign on the wall saying cards accepted only on a minimum £15.When I handed my card over to pay our £50.60 bill I was asked for cash. I said I didn't have any so the tried my card and it wouldn't work. I was told their phone signal was poor when verifying cards and it failed. After the waiter telling me there was a cash machine along the street I was embarrisingly accompanied to it by my waiter.I thought the bill was a bit high at the time but in the confusion failed to check it.So I didn't realise till we got home that we had been overcharged by £5.05. I'm a country bumpkin that had to go to Hounslow for the day, so I came on here to find somewhere for lunch. This place was very highly recommended and v close to where I needed to be. Took the wife and young son along. We were there early and the only customers, so we didn't suffer any of the customer service issues that others on here did, and I happened to have cash on me too, which avoided being frogmarched to the ATM. The restaurant itself is very casual and basic, and you can see the food being prepared. We had a biryani, tandoori chicken, dhal tadka and kadai gosht (or something similar). My wife and son loved it all. I have spent a long time eating v authentic indian food in Doha (before my trip advisor days) and thought it a bit mixed - the biryani was a bit meh, the tandooru chicken was a bit odd and overly seasoned, but the dal, kadai and paratha were fantastic. Overall a great value and very tasty lunch, and served quickly, which is important when you've got young kids.

You are greeted no matter, age, gender, nationality you name it you are so welcomed. The deep fried fish with the full meat platter is out of this world, you get beef, lamb, chicken, fish and chicken off the bone. Trust me this with their homemade sauce is out of this world. I've even been told that when I come again a recipe will be waiting for me to try at home, but you know it will never turn out the way it does cooked here. Everything on the menu is a must but personal favourite is the meat platter. Have visited Punjabi Karahi a couple of times now. I first heard about the place on TripAdvisor and so went down one day to pick up a takeaway of a mixed grill, a curry and a naan. The taste and spicing was very authentic and I looked forward to revisiting for a dine-in experience at a later date.A week or so later I had a chance to take some of the family down to the restaurant after I had already assured them that some great Punjabi food could be had in this very casual and low cost restaurant. Unfortunately we timed our trip with one of the World Cup football matches and so even though we were the only people dining in the restaurant most of the staff seemed absorbed by the TV than providing service to the customers. On this particular day it felt that the food also suffered from a lack of attention as it didn't have quite the zing that I had experienced on my first visit. Strangely enough once the football game was finished service improved and it also tasted like the food was improved too. So, I would be happy to give this place the benefit of the doubt and return again but I think they do need to always keep service and quality (and not football) at the top of their minds.

Have visited this place on a few occasions over the years but my recent visit made me remember just how great the food is here. To get the best Indian food you must visit the highly populated Indian areas such as Hounslow. This place is located very close to Hounslow East station very close to the town centre. When you walk in it looks more like a cafe rather than restaurant but im a firm believer that places that are overly glamorous compensate by good food which is what i visited for and boy did they deliver!. The food is some of the best i have ever had. I tried the mixed grill for starters which contained a variety of the tandoori starters on a sizzling platter. Each and every item was cooked perfectly and tasted fantastic. I then went with the Tawa Lamb dish for my main and i can honestly say i have never had lamb so tender and well flavored in my life. The dish is a masterpiece which many Michelin starred restaurants would struggle to produce. It is a must try at the restaurant! The service is good, friendly and as per my expectations and i love the fact everything is cooked freshly in an open kitchen at the end of the restaurant. I cant complain about a single thing, if you want great Indian food in a simple setting visit here, if you prefer average food this is not for you. Keep it up guys!

Top notch food here, served in a no frills, lively restaurant with a large customer base. The open kitchen where you can watch the chefs going about their business only adds to the atmosphere. The head waiter (who could also be the owner?) guides you through the menu but the paneer dishes here are excellent- especially the chilli paneer. There is a large menu with a variety of vegetarian, meat, tandoor dishes and draft Kingfisher and Cobra to wash it down with. You can bring wines and spirits in from the next door offy. Decided we will try this restaurant since it is the number1 rated Indian Restaurant in Hounslow. We arrived around Thursday, 2.30 pm, hoping that it will be open for a late lunch for the 3 of us. I left my car and followed the butcher whom was delivering to the restaurant. I entered and asked a staff member were they open? The boss stepped out of the 'open' plan kitchen and waved me in with his hands. Great! We sat down and read the menu. The waiter came and took our orders. We ordered for starters the grilled lamb chops (6 pieces) and a portion of the chicken wings (4 pieces). These were cooked just right-well done, and moist. For my main course I ordered the Karahi King Prawn and a dish of the Punjabi Special Rice (large) to compliment the meal. My wife ordered the Fish Tikka Karahi and her sister ordered the Karahi Lamb Scoda. A portion of 3 chapatti were ordered. My dish was quite tangy and gingery, not the karahi I expected say from Manchester Curry Mile, but tasted ok. I understand each province and chef cook differently. The Karahi Lamb Scoda was delicious as well as the Fish Dish. Both of these dishes tasted similar to the karahi I am used to; strange why my curry tasted differently and also red in colour whereas the other two dishes were dark green/ brown. However, my rice dish was such a large portion I could not finish it as well as the remainder of the curry dishes. The waiter kindly gave us some plastic containers to take the food home. The next day I had the rest of the curry for lunch and it tasted superb. The total bill came to £57.50, which includes a can of coke.

I wanted something to eat and trip advisor yet again came to my rescue. The food was really good and the price was very fair. You can take your own wine too as theres an off licence next door. I would recommend this as one of the best currys i have had.once again thanks alot for a great meal.

So this has to be one of my favorite indian/punjabi restaurants that was recommended to me by a friend who travels here from weighbridge (far). If you can handle a bit of spice then come to punjabi karahi for some great tasting food. The flavors just work! I personally love the tandoori chicken and the signature tawa lamb / chicken

Despite looking like a bit like a scruffy caff, this was genuinely one of the best indian meals I have ever had, at any price! And this was £13 a head. The Karahi Chicken was brilliantly spiced and really tender. The Rogon Josh fantastic too. I don't live anywhere near here, but will definitely be back!

Went to this restaurant on the 19th December. The food is amazing. We had a lamb dish to start the meat melted in your mouth and the flavour wow. Our main meal did not disappoint either. If your in this area and like Indian food you have to visit.

Visited this restaurant with my wife on Friday, after reading the reviews on tripadvisor. As its bring your own we stopped on the way to pick up some drinks. We started with the Chilli Lamb, ordered 1 rice and 1 Chilli and Keema Nan, Lamb and Pea Keema and a Chicken Jalfrezi. It was big portions. You can taste the spices and the food is cooked in front of you. We will be returning, please do not be worried about the look and feel it is a café and not a restaurant. The food worked out at £13 each. A bargain.

I have visited this restaurant several times now, usually with my grown up children. The food is always fabulous, exquisite curries with delicious accompaniments. The staff are always friendly and efficient. The Restaurant is not fancy, - no candles, or ornate chandeliers but the food I promise you is some of the best Indian food you will ever eat. The value for money - outstanding. They serve non-alcoholic soft drinks, but if you prefer something stronger, you can take your own.Highly recommended if you love great Indian food.

As a fairly regular customer we love this place. We go for other indian meals but always compare to punjabi and other restaurants can never compete. Amazing food, reasonably priced. Delicious, bit noisy but that only adds to the friendly environment

Have been a regular here since taken there by a Desi mate 7 years ago. Owners are friendly and staff are generally competent although it's sometimes difficult to explain which dish you want when during your dining eg a few bitings first, then the grilled, then the curry. Doesn't always matter as the food is top notch apart, maybe, the biryani which sometimes comes over as rather Chinese takeaway. Do not worry about "how spicy" as the waiter often asks and the chef will cook accordingly.Yes it's a bit formica and occasionally noisy but where else can you fill your belly with fine Punjabi food for less than a tenner a head including complimentary popadums, chili sauce, corriander sauce and salad (should the waiter remember)? Great grilled meat, excellent specials like dry fried jeera chicken and fantastic lamb curries - with ginger is a knockout. A fine range of breads are available too whether grilled, stove top or fried.Easily located (turn right on exiting Hounslow East Underground) and a few doors away from a decent grocer selling a range of reasonably priced beer including some rarer Polish brands, Tusker and a find the other day, Bell (Ugandan) a lovely 4% er which goes down well with what you get on your plate. If not drinking alcohol (some other PK punters love a drop of JD or JW or Grants with cola for eg) they will serve you a decent lassi or mango milkshake. So, when in Hounslow, this is probably your best bet. The main one on the high street may have let its standards slip and there are a number that are so halal as to request that you do not bring your own.

Brought in by a friend and taken through the best of the menu. Some very different dishes from those I have been accustomed to and found in the usual canon of British Indian restaurant and takeaway dishes. A lot of powerful and delightful flavours. Friendly and lively environment. Good value too.

We went here due to a recommendation by an indian colleague and although the place doesn't look much from the outside, the food is absolutely delicious! Full of flavour and quite different from your typical curry restaurant. I really recommend the chilli paneer as well as the lamb chops. The service is quick, prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly as well. Definitely one of my top 5..

Delicious food. Very spicy but does not detract from the flavour. The lamb was falling apart and so tasty. All presented really nicely and cooked fresh in front of you. Everything we tried had unbelievable flavour. Miles above any Indian food we've had before. Big portions so be careful not to order too much. My partner and I ordered two starters, two mains, one rice and one naan between us and it was far too much (for us that's saying something). Probably a starter to share, a curry each and rice or a naan to share would have been enough. Brilliant service.

started off with complementary (possibly because we are semi-regulars) poppadum's, followed by vegetable samosas, chilli king prawn (dry fry, my favourite!) + Allu Gobi, Garlic Chilli Naan and Egg Fried Rice; all wonderful, couldn't finish it (am looking forward to having it for lunch today). all washed down with a couple of beers i purchased from the off-license three shops up the street... 71 pounds for four people (the other three had mango lassi's, and various other meals e.g. butter chicken, rogan josh, etc)... i love this place so much that i always make a point of going out of my way to "drive past it on the way home", despite the fact that it is 18 miles away!

Worth a detour from the usual chain eateries in the area (just by Hounslow East tube station). Cheerful staff, canteen style setting, lots of menu choices and bring your own beer are some of the pluses. I had an excellent lamb biryani (huge portion) , crispy vegetable pakora and the lightest, freshest nan bread I've ever eaten. About £10 all in.

Whenever I crave for sizzling tandoori food , this is the place I go to which has a unique atmosphere i.e. crockery banging, waiters in lively discussions with chefs explaining customer's requirements and to hurry up..There is also indian music as well as tv is on. You can watch football while tucking into tandoori mutton chops. Food is par excellence and totally prepared by the head chef who happens to own the restaurant. His knowledge of special recipes and herbs is the key to why this is a special place. By 9 pm the place is in uproar and you have to shout to be heard.it is always a good idea to reconfirm with waiters that they have got it right. Amidst the crescendo you can hear staff taking down home delivery orders. There is a big selection of curries and tandoori grills. My mouth has started watering already .

Having eaten at many Indian restaurants around the country (Indian family- its what we do), it is hard to find food that stands out. Most dishes merge into generic flavours with nothing to separate one restaurant from another. This place though is something else! The setting won't fill you with much confidence (it is plenty clean though), but from the first dish you order to the last, you'll be glad you stayed. If this was a central london venue, you could easily spend double for food which is not even near the same quality

Not much to look at (think greasy spoon cafe) but the food is always 100% spot-on! The most flavoursome indian food you'll ever taste, especially if your experience had been only of 'regular' high street indian restaraunts - you won't find any over-sugary sweet korma dishes here! I recommend the chicken tikka karahi and keema karahi - tasty, fun and so addictive! Two thumbs up!!

I walk past here from the gym all the time, and haven't found a good Indian restaurant in the area. Was tired and stressed today, so I went in and was amazed by how kind, caring and hospitable Ali was. Felt like I was a guest in someone's home! Most places I've been, staff couldn't care less about you as a person! Ali was so nice, and later told me he could tell I was stressed out, and wanted to help me relax! Chicken madras is my favourite Indian food, and I find you either get a good one or a mediocre one in most places. The madras at Twickenham Spice was AMAZING. So happy to find a local Indian restaurant where the staff care about you AND the food is actually really, really good! Can't wait to go back! Thanks Ali!!

Had a Xmas eve curry delivery treat. First time ordered from here. Food was spot on. They give you the option of how spicy/hot you want it and I went for just spicy on the Bombayaloo. Think I’ll go for medium next time, never the less was still delish! The masala sauce is the best I’ve tasted….wow!! Will def be ordering again
