Quayside Fish and Chips in Doncaster

Still my favourite chippy in Doncaster. Been every Friday for months.

Becoming one of my favorite places to go for a great atmosphere and amazing food. All sauces are fab and the cod bites are generous. I can't fault anything about them.

Skimpy on the chips. Kids portions say suitable for kids under 10? More like under 6 yrs old? I mean how much do a few extra chips cost? Fish was beautiful just let down on portion size. Even jumbo cod was low on chips. Over £20 quid so not what you expect. Facilities and staff were great. 👍

Worst chicken burger . One star it s too much for this place. Cheap just because they can t charge you more for such a mess

Beautiful fish and chips for a very reasonable price! Sarcasm from one staff member was not well received. Maybe it was intended as humour but it came across as rudeness. The other two staff were well mannered and friendly which stopped us walking back out the door instead of ordering. During our meal the same staff member was vocal about various displeasures and was heard singing 'I don't give a f***'. I hope this feedback is taken only to improve the experience for customers, as the rest is top notch. There are tables to sit and eat and we didn't have to wait long for our food.

We live in North Lincolnshire where Fish and Chips are routinely rubbish. We travel forty miles to Doncaster once a month tp go to Quayside. We are never disappointed. The fish are beautiful, a completely different thing to the grey/black stale stuff served up in Lincolnshire with its skin still on. Quayside serve fish and chips like they should be....absolutely fantastic.

I used to go here all the time when I studied at the nearby college. I don't think I've been back for at least ten years, but I did recently. Not only does it still do the fish bite menu but it's just as good as it always was. Decent inland chippies are a rarity these days. I'm glad this place is still going and as good as I remember it!

NEVER had bad fish from this place, would definitely recommend.

Best Cod and Chips meal in Doncaster, the peas are to die for. Service was excellent, staff were engaging and took me through menu options. Cod was crispy and flaking in the inside. SIMPLY the best piping in the background, that they are.

Been a couple of times now and always fantastic value. I am not a small man and even sharing with my partner, I finish the meal with a full stomach. Large cod and chips with curry sauce is the perfect meal

I wish this they were open more hours on JustEat. When able to get to town i called and returned many times however now housebound so JustEat Delivery is only option. But when I order these are by far the BEST QUALITY traditional tasting Fish and Chips in my 60 years. The batter is crispy and tasty plus the Cod is flaky white and moreish and chips fab too. Never fail with quality

I cam here for their lunchbox special offer, 2.70 for sausage or fish cake, chips & peas. It was tasty and good value for money. I sat outside and ate my lunch in the sun

First visit, definitely return, pleasant guy thanked us for calling on leaving. Very much enjoyed ... quality Fish & Chips without question.

A Doncaster institution? A Marketplace gem? Salt of the Earth establishment? The answer is: all of the above! We visit with our kids. Not frequently, but often enough to know that this little chippy is bloody great. Lovely smells. Friendly smiles. A bit of humour from the ladies behind the counter. There’s banter if you seek it. Good value. Deals to be had. Crispy batter. Nice chips. Decent peas. Tables outside and in. What’s not to like? The pigeons probably. But that’s irrelevant - it’s the food and interaction that counts. Oh and card payments. They do those too. Try it.

Lovely chip shop, customer service is top notch and the food no matter what you order is absolutely perfect and delicious. Can't paise this chip shop enough, keep up the good work! Totally recommend.

Very pleasant little chippy adjacent the market place. The cod bites are yummy, and the staff are always friendly.

Visited Friday 27th January - had chips and a scallop cake (which I'd never had before). Blooming lovely. Went back the following day for more of the same but they close early which was a gutter, but when I'm back in Doncaster next year, I'll be sure to visit. Highly recommended...

Always lived in Doncaster but strangely never been here, I am glad now I have. Quality Fish chips Peas Drink & Breadcake on the meal deal for 2 for 14 quid that's 7 pound each very good portions I bet the large cod is a whopper not a lot of seating might be a worry in winter.

The fish are massive and the curry sauce is to die for. Polite staff too.

These are the best fish and chips I’ve had in years, real traditional old fashioned batter like it always used to be. The fish is not hidden by thick stodgy batter so you get a really good portion of proper fish and the chips are brilliant too. I can’t recommend this shop highly enough, if you are in Doncaster make sure you try them.

If we're visiting Doncaster we always call at Quayside and have never been disappointed. The large cod (it's huge) cooked fresh to order is a must. Crisp batter and chunky white flaky cod. We've some really good fish shops in Selby where we live, but this 'just' tops them and is a treat.

I was a spur of the moment thing whilst walking back to the car. There was a queue outside Rothwells so we decided to try Quayside. Ordered 2 fish and mushy peas. The fish was ready cooked and in the warming cabinet. This would contribute to the fish being dry and over cooked I usually ask for fish to be cooked to order but time was not on our side. Nice crispy batter and the peas were good Had to pay cash only

Very good, the batter is as near as you will get it to being perfect and I am speaking from experience after retiring after running my own fish and chip shop for 46yrs

Had a £4 mini meal which was small fish and chips with a side and a hot drink. Food was lovely, hot and plenty for what was advertised as a "mini meal". It wasn't greasy at all and the staff were nice and pleasant. Would definitely go again.

Went as a couple, due to having car serviced we needed something to eat and chanced it. Absolutely spot on!! Had the mini fish and chips, fish was lovely, chips nicely done and peas we had weren't dry. To top it off it came with a hot drink for £4! Altogether a lovely place and staff were friendly and helpful, will definitely visit again.

I can say in all honesty that I have never had more greasy badly cooked fish and chips in my life. I managed to extract some fish from the mess and then dumped the whole thing. Considering the price, I think the people of Doncaster are being ripped off.

Best fish n chips in Donny, they taste just like the fish n chips I remember as a kid many years ago, good value for a quality meal which reminds me of the taste you get at the seaside.

I visited here with my mum on a market day. We just fancied a cuppa with some fish and chips. We opted for the mini fish, chips and peas special. The fish tasted fresh and was succulent. The chips and peas were also very tasty. Pleasantly surprised!! The two ladies serving were very cheerful. Great value for money!

I’m a regular visitor here as I work in town and regularly have fish and chips on a Friday lunch. The service is friendly and efficient and the fish always cooked perfectly as are the chips; well drained and not swimming in oil at all. To top it all the prices are very reasonable too!

On the way back from a trip to the Doncaster market, my family and I are all in agreement that the fish and chips we bought from here were quite honestly the worst fish and chips we have ever eaten. They were swimming in grease and obviously reheated, In fact the fish was almost bone dry, The taste was understandably terrible! a couple of mouthfuls and it all went into the bin.

It must have been a different quayside fish and chips in Doncaster that I went to as they were the worst fish and chips that I have ever tasted bar none. They are not even worth 1star!!!!!

Popped in for lunch and was greeted warmly, The meal we had was of course fish and chips which were excellent. Would visit again if in Doncaster.
