We came for breakfast with Santa today, 4 girls, parents and grandparents, 10 of us in all. The Santa is one of the most engaging Santa's I have met. We had plenty of time with him for photo's and chat, the whole Santa experience was extreemly well done. There was no queue and no rush 👏👏👏🎅

Went for breakfast with Father Christmas, atmosphere was great. Staff member Brydie was very informative and efficient, at a very busy time she had everything under control. Brilliant staff member, Father Christmas was great...... the best one.

Came here for a breakfast after visiting family in hoylake food was really nice and very low priced. Tom who served us was really nice made us feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble Will definitely be visiting again

Liberty was superb, friendly, super friendly and professional.

My wife and I visited the Railway Inn this evening for a meal, and overall, it was a lovely experience. The food was excellent—I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, although my wife wasn’t entirely happy with her pie. What truly made the evening special, however, was the exceptional service we received from Liberty. When we mentioned the pie, she immediately offered a free pudding as a kind gesture, which we really appreciated. Liberty was incredibly attentive, warm, and went above and beyond to ensure we left happy. Her professionalism and kindness truly made the evening one to remember. Thank you to the team at the Railway Inn, and especially Liberty, for a wonderful night. We’ll definitely be back!

Came to watch football, bar was packed and Ben the manger and Laura were fast and provided a good service. Great atmosphere would definitely recommend.

I visited your restaurant last night for 3 adults and 2 children. Food came out promptly but had to ask for one more meal 10 minutes after the rest had come out. Again with the desserts had to find someone to ask about a missing dessert,not Ince did we get asked if everything was alright with our meals . My dessert (the trifle baked Alaska)looked nothing like the picture on the menu ,it was half the size ,no custard and the merengue was soggy. I would have sent it back if I could of found a staff member . Very disappointed as normally have had no complaints with our meals .

As a regular I can see so many positive changes. Not so many younger staff, who are ok but definitely don't have the best customer care attitude. Sharon who serves us regularly is a total breath of fresh air. Can't do enough for you, goes above and beyond for everyone. I hope she is properly appreciated. Food is 100% improved and cooked well .

Must be under new management. Food so much better. Tasty, hot and quick. A good atmosphere. I hate getting own cutlery as left by door and some looked dirty. Otherwise fab!

Been here many times and food is always fab! Had a previous issue and Jodie the manager took the time to phone me, listen to my complaint and immediately rectified it. I went back and was the best experience ever. Just goes to show give someone/ somewhere a 2nd chance, give them the opportunity to put it right and trust. You'll be more than satisfied. Jodie was fantastic, couldn't have asked for better service all round experience.

Pretty gross, bathroom was vile, tables were sticky. Food was just about edible... but staff were nice enough.

Often almost full - which is probably best best review. Comfortable seating. Great pub food at a decent low price. Helpful staff. TVs on for important football games - a definite benefit. Clean toilets. Free spacious parking.

The other day I had wonderful experience at the railway , a lovely young girl, I think her name was Niamh , she had a very warm and friendly personality towards me and my family , will definitely be returning soon!

I like this place but last few times I've been it's been pretty grimy with plates, glasses and sauce bottle left on unused tables etc. Hope it's not going downhill as its good value, friendly and the food is nice.

Pre booked for a table of 13 (9 adults, 4 kids) for 26th Aug. My son requested to eat there to celebrate his 7th birthday with the family. When we arrived a table for 9 had been set up but it wasn’t a problem and they sorted a table for 13 quickly for us. Service was great, Jodie was especially wonderful. Unfortunately the veggie lasagna we ordered was firstly over done to the point it was burnt to the dish and very watery so it was sent back and a fresh one was requested. 2nd one to come out was undercooked and watery. Jodie was very approachable and apologetic about the meal and offered for a new meal off the menu to be cooked which was with us within 10min and was good. We were refunded for that one meal without asking which was great. It was a lovely time with family and the food wasn’t the main reason we were there but unfortunately the food was just ok. Service on the other hand is amazing, the team is really nice and Jodie was really lovely.

Lovely meal with family on a Sunday afternoon, quite busy as expected so best to book the table as we did. A good choice of food including vegan options. Food came in good time and service was good too. Will return soon .

Classy venue. Handsome chap in the burgundy top (think his name is Ben) is arguably the best bartender in the whole of West Wirral. Brydie was excellent too. Will definitely be coming back.

We came over from Liverpool to treat my nephew & his son to a Birthday lunch. We were told by the server at the bar that there was a 45 minute wait which we accepted.But we didn't expect was 3 meals to turn up in dribs and draps and 1 meal not to appear at all!! We were not offered a refund until my husband insisted then the young lady now at the till reluctantly agreed. As you can imagine my disappointment in your establishment and I will never recommend it to anyone. If you and your team continue in this vein you will be heading for closure pretty soon. We were at table 68 and we arrived at 2pm, there was a lady also complaining about the way one of your workers had dealt with her children, she didn't appear impressed !!

Great food and service. Really good for live sports as they have plenty of TVs and a large projector screen, along with a pool table. Staff are always helpful and friendly.

Staff great. Atmosphere good. Plenty of parking. Food served quickly. Food low standard. Medium rare was well done rare, didn't think you could do that. Chicken was dry. Burgers dry.

Last time i had food here it was shoccking so i have not returned till my daughter said we should go there. I had the mixed grill and it was under cooked and taste 🤢i have put it in take away bag for my dog but probably bin it .as it not my dogs flaut

Quality food at good prices served by a team of staff that know what hospitality is all about!

Last time I came here was about 10 years ago when I lived in Moreton I used to go here all the time with my two sons it is my birthday today so me and my grandchildren went here for a birthday treat but I was disgusted with the way the place is now. We went to sit down at a table but it was filthy so my daughter went to the bar and asked one of the many members of staff who were just standing round doing nothing .one came to the table and wiped it but never cleared the food that fell on the floor ( and there was a lot !!) So we went to another table but that one was messy to!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!

The general manager, Libby, was very friendly and helpful! She made great suggestions for our choice of food. The 8oz Steak Sizzler was cooked to perfection and the Fish and Chips was spot on. The pub was very busy at the time giving it a great atmosphere, and we felt very comfortable and happy. The other customers seemed to be enjoying themselves too which was lovely and welcoming. Absolutely will be visiting again!

Came for a friends birthday, Rob and Ben very friendly on the bar looked after us all night. Food was excellent and fast would definitely recommend.

After numerous visits with issues on each visit I feel I am not being unfair with these ratings. The first visit most of the drinks were wrong , the next visit the food orders did not follow the instructions of the online order. The same with the next visit and finally today toast requested ,and paid for ,with my breakfast and they claimed it didn’t show that on their monitor so I showed them my order on the App so they told me they would put some on for me but it didn’t come until I had finished eating my whole breakfast so it was a waste of time telling them of their mistake. We had hoped to continue to meet at this venue every Monday but enough is enough we are going elsewhere. Goodness knows what it’s like if they get busy because there was only my family and three other people in the whole pub!

Maybe try it sometime. I had reserved a place for the European Championship final. However, that was a dirty cat table right by the kitchen. Not nice.

Came up from London with my family to visit my Son and his Partner family. We had our evening meal with the family. The food was very nice and the Staff are very nice and helpful. Will definitely going back there next trip

Firstly, don't think 3 stars means this is no good, the Railway is probably the best value for money I have experienced in a very long time, however it is lacking in certain aspects. Food - exceptional value, paid somewhere around £40 for lunch for 2 adults and 2 kids including drinks. Food was of acceptable quality, however my gammon did not come with pineapple as advertised (not bothered, but someone else might be) and was so salty it actually made my lips numb. All the other food was fine. Drinks - good quality cask ales for very good prices. Service - could not fault in any way. Atmosphere - the place is a bit dated, carpets could use a refresh, however toilets were clean, tables were clean.

Stopped off at The Railway Pub today. Only had a cappincino. I couldn't get over how big the pub was inside so had to take pictures and share. Staff was friendly and the pub has a welcome feeling to it. It's dog and child friendly place aswell. They also serve breakfast until 12pm. 😀

You know what you are getting so not bad for a cheap and cheerful meal. Place desperately needs re decorating though.

We were walking from Leasowe to Hoylake and this pub is very conveniently placed for lunch. Been coming here for quite a few years as it's always provided good food and drink at a reasonable price. One of it's Special offers on Tuesdays was their "Mix it" offer which was a bargain at £7.50, reduced by £4. We all ordered it and it arrived fairly quickly. It was quite large and was very tasty too. Nice selection of drinks and service was very good. Plenty of parking spaces. If you do call in here ask one of the locals about the Viking ship buried in the car park..

Baguette wasn't cooked properly melted cheese was two cheese slices o. half cooked baguette coleslaw tasted a bit dodgy chips were nice though

Very good Greeneking pub, came for a big meal with lots of people and they accommodated very well. Was a small wait for some, but not by much. Being able to use my blue light card forn20% off food was an excellent bonus.

Had my birthday meal here. First off we made a reservation, they then said it wasn’t on the system so we had to wait for a table because there was quite a few of us. Then when we got a table there wasn’t enough room for everyone ( think there was about 12 of us ). Then when we were finally satasfied, food took a whole hour too come, which we were warned about so can’t complain. Discounts weren’t valid as it was bank holiday. Food was a 3/10, most of ours was cold, service is always good but needs upgrading urgently.

We took visiting friends for lunch ( their first visit) The young man (Rob) who took firstly our drink order, then later our food order, was extremely pleasant and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit It is our regular eating place and we're pleased that our friends also enjoyed their first visit. Thank you

Recently, I went for a birthday meal with some friends. We ate some excellent food, the staff were all friendly, polite and helpful. Unfortunately I only recall 1 member of staff whose name is Rob or Robert. I'm an excessively fussy eater and he listened to my requests and made helpful suggestions. I will definitely be coming back here and recommending it to all of my friends. All of your staff are a credit to your company and a pleasure to be served by.

Very disappointed ☹️ No dips included with ultimate big combo. Smothered sizzling steak didn't even hiss. Would not recommend or return.

We come weekly and never been let down staff are always welcoming and helpful. customers are always asking about our boxing club that we run weekly in railway the manger Lisa is enjoying participating in the boxing herself we had a breakfast wrap after our session which was lovely and came out on time

Long story this one guys apologies in advance. Was proper belting it down in the Costa del Meols you know me, I'm always up for some food. Sat down in the booth with the little telly by the entrance. Chefs kiss. Best seat in the house, but as I was devouring my quadzilla burger with extra chips and onion rings (no mayo cos I'm not a boff) some dude (think his name was like Aaron) started dipping his fingers in my side dish of chicken tikka and licking it off his fingers). Minging. In other news, would fully recommend. Top scrannage hotspot in the mean streets of Meols. 5/5. Belter.

Food was great, very tasty. 1 or 2 of the waiting staff could do with smiling a little but service was OK.

Absolutely lovely atmosphere, staff were more than polite. Summah was outstanding when it service, she was right to us when we had any questions. Food was delicious, steak was gorgeous, absolutely mouth watering. Mocktails were my favourite. Absolutely refreshing. The pitcher jugs that my mocktails came in were absolutely beautiful. Sam was great when it came to taking my order. He considered if I had any allergies or dietary needs. PUDDING was bangin , gooey chocolate brownie was absolutely scrumptious. The warm chocolate melted in my mouth. I will be returning to the railway for another absolutely delicious meal. I will sharing my experience with my beautiful family and Friends.

Booked a table . Went to bar to order food and get a drink . I was totally ignored by the staff , waited 20 minutes to be served still ignored . So I walked out total waist of my time

Lovely friendly staff who were very helpful. I went with my family, we went during a football match not my thing, but everyone was friendly and loud atmosphere. The food was delicious. A little long of a wait for food but it was a really busy period every table was filled was about a 45 minute wait for food.
