Food was incredible. It was piping hot, great flavours and looked amazing. The waitress was so lovely and nothing was too much trouble. I would happily come back again.

My girlfriend has been living on Filton Avenue for the past 2 years and had been dying to try this place. After suggesting we visit on a Saturday morning, I was met with a joyous smile and we drove straight down there only an hour later. To keep it short and simple, the food was delicious. We were met with a friendly smile and a quaint atmosphere and nice background music. The menu was simple yet covered all options. We both had a Chashu Ramen with a Tonkotsu base, and salt and pepper chips on the side. The chips were a very tasty snack to keep you busy until the main event arrived. The ramen… where do I start, it was quite simply brilliant. Hearty, flavoursome, rich and unique flavours all around. I give it a 10/10 and urge others to try.

Tried this place recently and although the food wasn’t authentic Japanese in my opinion, it was tasty and good value for money. The ramen broth is quite weak, but a nice option for people trying Japanese food out. Really lovely service and a nice atmosphere!

The Seafood Ramen was amazing! (Laksa Seafood Ramen was delicious as well, but be carefull if you can't handle spicy food :) Very big portions, great service and lovely ambiance

We had the nicest food and service at Rahman Zen this evening! We had 4 amazing starters and 2 main meals and could have enjoyed them more! As you can see by the pictures it was cooked amazingly well and super colourful! We would recommend the salt and pepper chips, pork rahmen and house special sizzler! All so flavoursome and delicious!

Fried chicken - absolutely amazing. It's as delicious as anything I had in Japan. By far the best thing I've eaten in England. Pork dumplings - the best. No complaints. Chicken cutlet - delicious. I prefer a smooth sauce with a blend of vegetables. Mochi - the worst. Very damp and submerged in water. I can only assume that you took it out of the freezer and didn't thaw it in the fridge. I've had mochi at other restaurants, but it was kept in the fridge so it was good for a few hours. It should have been stored in the refrigerator instead of the freezer.

Dined in on the way back to Oxford. very good customer service with lots of selection. There seems to be a lot of repeat customers.

We've been wanting to try this place for a long time because of the reviews. We were very disappointed. First of all, you can't pay by card. Secondly, I ask who served us, he was very chaotic, he mixed up the orders and caused confusion. Most importantly, tasteless food. We took different ramen but they all tasted the same. The taste is not distinctive. Ok for one time but we definitely won't come back.

I came here a few months ago and loved the food! Everything is delicious and the service is great. I ordered a takeaway last night on ubereats, but as i ordered from someone else's account I couldn't leave a review on there. But again i loved everything i ordered and i even got a free large duck spring roll ! Thank you, I’ll definitely be visiting/ordering again.

What a great find! Japanese food served in big portions with Asahi on draught, spot on for me. I went for the Tofu and the Chicken Vermicelli both delicious. The lovely Ling runs a great place. Her home made plums in the plum wine was a bonus. I will come again and try the Sake and Ramen IPA as well.

Booked a table at Ramen Zen with friends via First Table, excited by the glowing reviews online. The staff were genuinely lovely and attentive, which was a nice start. However, the restaurant only accepts cash or bank transfers – a bit inconvenient if you’re used to card payments. We ordered a mix of dishes, including a sizzling plate, tempura vegetables, and squid. Sadly, the food didn’t live up to the hype. The flavors were bland, and everything tasted like it came from a frozen packet – not the fresh, flavorful experience we expected. For the price and reputation, it was disappointing. There are definitely better Asian restaurants around if you’re looking for quality.

Absolutely superb food and customer service. They were quick, adaptable and served seriously tasty food - starters and mains! Ask them for a little bit of chili oil on the side if you like a little spice, along with some Sake. Cannot miss with the Tonkotsu broth Chashu ramen. 5/5 indeed.

Visited here couple weeks ago, it is a small but cute spot. The atmosphere is very serene and calming, would say it’s perfect for those who loves to take themselves out or wants to go on a solo dinner ✨ the staff are lovely and friendly. We booked ahead to grantee a table. Only thing I’d improve is having more available for vegetarian and halal diet but nonetheless would recommend! The food was fresh and piping hot, starters were very tasty!

The food is delicious. You can choose your broth and noodles. The portion sized are very generous and they leave you satiated. The place had a nice vibe and we will be back as it was great value for money.

Lovely sizzling plate Bit of a miscommunication with the Katsu Raman which ended up being Katsu with rice. Fine except I don't really eat rice! The food tasted good and the service other than the mix up was good.

The first time going to Ramen Zen was really nice as the waitress was very polite and the atmosphere was very pleasant. The food was also very good, i ate it most of it as it was pretty filling. 10/10 would definitely come back again with another dish in mind!

At the arrival, we had received a very warm welcome. The food came in quickly, and it was fresh. However, my pork in a black pepper sauce was very greasy, and I could not finish it. In the middle of our meal, we were told that I won't be able to pay with the card, which is why II had to walk around to find a cash point. The prices on the menu in the restaurant have not been updated, so you might get a surprise when the bill arrives. 10% tip is included.

The gyozas and pork ramen were delicious. Popped in whilst at the university open day, shame it’s two hours from home otherwise would be here every week!

Now, let me tell you about the service! The staff at Ramen Zen are incredibly friendly and attentive. They made sure that I had everything I needed and were always ready to answer any questions I had. The service was prompt and efficient, making my dining experience even more enjoyable. Overall, I had a fantastic time at Ramen Zen and I highly recommend it! 11/10

The seafood ramen was full of flavour with a tonkotsu base. The young lady that welcomed us and took orders etc was very kind, accommodating and had a smile on all the time. There are 3 main things we didn't like: based on the area the restaurant is in, I do not see how these prices are justified especially when topped with a 10% service charge. Service charge has become a bit of an 'additional profit' that restaurants think they can demand despite already having an expensive menu-a service charge works in America where staff aren't exactly paid a full salary. Food prices normally depend on the type of food you're eating, demand and the area of the restaurant. Either lower your prices or make service charge optional. Secondly, no NHS discount is offered despite the higher end prices which makes it harder for people like me to enjoy this again-the restaurant is close to hospitals and NHS staff prefer places with a bit of a discount which would remove the 10% service charge. Thirdly, one of the mussels (which were very tasty and fresh) was covered in sea hair. These should never come on the mussel's shell-they need to be removed as they can cause stomach upset. If the pricing and service charge was different, I'd come back next week and tell my friends to come too.

My boyfriend and I visited Ramen Zen for the first time and had a lovely experience! For starter we had the salt and pepper wings, chicken dumplings and vegetable gyoza’s. All came out piping hot, and full of flavour. For our mains we had the chicken katsu ramen and the yakimeshi both tasty! We will definitely come back!

Probably the best service I’ve had in an eatery. Food was great (try the takoyaki, but let it cool down a little) and the atmosphere was peaceful, laidback and restful. Would definitely come back again. I will come back for the grilled eel with rice.

Overall experience was great but let me get the "bad" out of the way first. The only thing I would complain about was that the tonkotsu broth was just a touch too watery and light for me, I've preferred richer tonkotsu broths. That would be the only thing I'd complain about. The good: Both pork elements were fantastic, the chashu and the tonkatsu (fried pork cutlet) were done to perfection. Service was polite and I really enjoyed the restaurant's decor.

Excellent food - great quality and quantity. I have luckily eaten Japanese food all over the world and including in Japan. This was up there with the best I’ve had. Just delightful flavours in the chicken and pork broth, generous Ramen noodles and boiled eggs. The Yakitori chicken skewers were super tasty too. I will be returning.

The stir-fried assorted rice noodles have the flavor and wok flavor of a Hong Kong tea restaurant. The ingredients are very fresh. I just saw this restaurant while passing by on the train. I really wanted to eat Chinese food, so I went in to try it. I was pleasantly surprised and the staff was very friendly. Politeness👍😋

We went to Ramen Zen to make use of a good Groupon deal and we're really pleasantly surprised. A cute little venue serving good honest food with fair pricing. Staff were friendly and grateful. Service was good. We would return and happily give them full price business again. It may not be the best ramen in Bristol but it's worth a visit to enjoy the food and show some support for local business.
