Called in for lunch. Busy but got a table easily. Good lunch, reasonably priced.

recently came for Sunday lunch, Natasha and Jess took great care of us. food was lovely and the fire was nice and warm will be visiting again soon.

We had a lovely evening - thank you. We asked for a table to be reserved near to the fire in the bar and it was perfect. Toasty. The bar was busy and the atmosphere was great as a result. Food was delicious, wine choices were really good too. Staff all very attentive and smiley. We've been a number of times over the last few months and always enjoy the menu choices. Thank you

This is a good pub to drop anchor, but don’t forget to log your car in…we don’t want any tickets. Food good if a little expensive, beer good with cask ales available, staff helpful. There is also a real fire.

Good food, reasonable price. Unfortunately The room was a bit cool. The chocolate bomb dessert was delicious.

We booked for my husband’s 50th for 12 of us. I dropped off balloons and a cake beforehand and the table and balloons were ready for his arrival, which was a surprise for him. Staff couldn’t do enough, particularly Sarah who was absolutely lovely and sorted out the cake etc She even managed to get a smile out of my teenage nephew, which is some achievement. The Roast was lovely and desserts varied and delicious. Everyone had a fab time and I would highly recommend.

Had heard good things but was disappointed with the visit. It was cold in the restaurant - no radiators nor fires were on, I kept my coat on. I was also disappointed that the vegetarian Sunday lunch option was a vegetable wellington with tenderstem but what arrived was an individual pie, not a wellington, and there was no tenderstem either inside nor on the side. Roast potatoes were also pale and hard. Would have expected better for the price.

Always a bonus finding a decent pub open early doors on a Monday lunchtime. This pub has an enormous, tastefully decorated interior and a huge, verdant beer garden at the rear. 2 cask ales on, the Hophead excelled but was pricey for the half. So handy for Disley 🚂 station.

Went for the 1st time yesterday with my son and wife ..excellent food and service. Will definitely be back. The best sun lunch I've had in a very long time

Amazing food, amazing friendly service including an ipad system for allergies, warm open fire, everyone was so friendly. Dog friendly. Would love to go back if ever up that way again. My Dad and I go regularly to The Rams Head for a meal out. The food is absolutely delicious and the waiting staff are always very patient, courteous and professional. We are both vegetarian and there are some really tasty and different choices. I particularly enjoy the celeriac steak and the banana blossom 'fish' and chips. There is a spacious and busy beer garden at the rear and plenty of space and different rooms too suit whatever type of party you are dining or drinking with inside. The whole place has an easy and relaxed vibe and I would definitely recommend a visit.

Terrible! We went there this afternoon and it claimes it's 2 lunch mains for £18.95 when we received the bill it was £32 for the 2 meals when asking why they said because we ordered a side of chips they couldn't do us the deal, absolute scam!

Service was great. However the food wasn't good at all. Not what we would expect from you. The selection was restricted with a few main courses not being available. We had the roast dinner. The chicken was dry. There wasn't even any cauliflower cheese left as a side dish. Not good I'm afraid to say.

Fresh well presented food with excellent service

Staff all very attentive, food was quick but of an extremely high level. Very accommodating. Best roast going. Unlimited gravy is great. Portions sizes are great. Mini pudding and coffee is a fab idea. Could offer a small version of roasts.

I’ve wanted to visit the Ram’s Head for lunch for some time now and boy did it live up to my expectations! Lovely, cosy atmosphere which is impressive given how large the building is. The staff were attentive and friendly. 5 of us had the Sunday roast and all agreed it was one of the best we’d had (the too tough crackling aside!). My daughter also had plenty of options on the kids menu. The desserts were delicious; my partner and son were particularly impressed with the melting chocolate bomb!! Can’t wait to go again!

Fantastic experience for our first visit to Rams Head We booked online before we attended as we were travelling back down the motorway on a pre-planned trip and wanted somewhere to have some lunch that was dog friendly We sat outside due to the weather being absolutely gorgeous Food was exceptional and reasonably priced Staff were extremely welcoming and very attentive I’m sure we will be back if we pass that way again, unfortunately we live nearly hours away

Great choice of drinks at the bar, superb menu, the food is fabulous, a lovely outside seating area, and the staff are fantastic.

Lovely, good size pub with a massive garden at the back with plenty of seating both in and out. Food menu is ok, nothing exciting, a tad on the pricey side for what you get. Definitely go again for drinks only.

GREAT LOCATION LOTS OF FREE PARKING THERES A WARM AND FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE UPON ENTERING.WAS EFFORTLESSLY SHOWN TO A TABLE AND MY DRINK ARRIVED SHORTLY. SADLY IT THEN TOOK 20 MINS FOR MY ORDER TO BE TAKEN, DESPITE THERE BEING AMPLE STAFF ON HAND. THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS FRESHLY COOKED AND HOT. I DO HAVE A SUGGESTION . BE A LITTLE MORE GENEROUS WITH THE MASH POTATOES AFTER ALL THEY ARE ONLY A VEGETABLE AND AT £20 FOR THE "SUNDAY ROAST" IT WONT IMPACT THE PROFITS . I HAD THE CHICOLATE CAKE & ICE CREAM TO FOLLOW AND AGAIN A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED WITH THE PORTION SIZE "SHRINKFLATION" TO SAY THE LEAST.... 5* FOR THE FRIENDLY STAFF BUT AGAIN HAD TO WAIT FOR MY BILL... !!

We arrived early but were seated immediately, the decor was super lovely and we had a special little corner set aside for us both, really intimate feeling so ideal for date night. All the staff were helpful friendly and courteous and couldn't do enough to put out minds at ease regarding my allergies, checking everything on the tablet and also with the kitchen (10/10 for that alone!) the food was superb, the wine amazing and the whole experience was one I'd love to recreate again and again! Thank you for a wonderful evening!.

Came for dinner and everything was spot on. Was met by the lovely sam on the host who showed us to our table and took our drinks! Then we were looked after by Erin for the evening who provided great service!

Really disappointed. The food is mediocre but pretty expensive, especially for such small portions. It's average pub grub at restaurant prices. The monkfish chowder and the pork mains were pleasant but not nearly good enough to justify the £23/£18 prices. It came to £60 for two mains and two drinks with tip - for which I'd expect much better food. The staff were lovely but I'd not go again at those prices and portions.

Ist visit. The Rams head is quite an old building. It is showing signs of wear and tear internally. Especially the tables. Although cleanish there was still dust on the window ledges and the well worn tables a little sticky. Food was ok but overly expensive as was the wine. Price are restaurant prices,where you would expect tables to be set instead of bare badly scratched wood. That said the staff were excellent so well done.

Went for lunch for my Mums Birthday, we was able to have a table outside on the patio. Lovely food, I had the king prawn linguine with scallops which was very tasty, and others had the lamb rump and pizza, also enjoyed lots of cocktails! Service was great, will definitely return

A really great pub! Staff are super friendly and welcoming, great atmosphere for drinks as well as serving great pub food. Lots of space for food and drinks inside as well as having an impressive green pub garden with lots of seating which gets the sun in the afternoon. Highly recommend paying Jack and the rest of the staff a visit!

The food was nice enough, slightly better than average pub food. We had a pizza (which needed more toppings) a panzanella salad and two kids burgers. The beer garden is lovely and the kids enjoyed running around. The reason for the low score is twofold: first the food took over an hour to arrive, which is slightly ridiculous given what we had. Secondly, there was no avocado in the salad I ordered, and when I asked a waitress to rectify it she came back from the kitchen saying that the chef would like me to know that it's definitely in there, but chopped very finely. It definitely wasn't (I showed the waitress) and was a bit put out that this was even being argued! The waitress asked what I'd like them to do, I asked her to please bring me some avocado. It took a while, but I eventually got a few sorry chunks on a plate. This was then added to our bill as extra avocado, thankfully it was taken off when I pointed it out. Such a shame that the service is so poor, we have friends who have been recently and had a similar experience. Unfortunately we will be trying somewhere else next time we drive through Disley.

Went to the Rams, enjoyed the three -course festive menu and it was delicious. The christmas decorations put me in a festive mood and roaring fire warmed our feet after a long walk around Lyme Park. Had great service from Katie and Amélie who were always happy to accommodate. Will definitely be returning in the new year!

Had lunch here today with my husband and his Mum, for my husband’s birthday. We were so impressed and had a lovely time. The menu is full of both traditional choices and some fresh ideas, the atmosphere is pleasant and the layout is well designed. The food was prepared with care and tastes delicious. Service was polite, friendly and well timed. Honestly couldn’t fault it. Thank you! (Special thanks to Nicole and Amber!).

Nice place all round, decent menu. Only downside was their Sky WiFi didn't work and it's a 4G deadzone. We stopped there to plan the next journey but couldn't.

Such a great place to eat and drink.. A small village with a big personality.. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful.. Food choice is varied and changes often.. My only quibble is the Men’s restroom is so cold 🥶 and dull..

Visited Easter week after a day out at Lyme Park. We were a group of 7 with 3 dogs & were seated in the bar area which was very nice. We ordered from the set lunch menu which was excellent value. Some of our party ordered from the main menu which was also great value. All the meals were very nice & the staff were excellent. Our daughter had sprained her ankle whilst in Lyme Park & the staff went out of their way to make her comfortable, providing an ice pack for her injury. Absolutely recommended….the food is great, the menu is varied & good value. Staff were exceptional, thank you for a great afternoon. We will visit again when we are in the area. 👍🏻👍🏻

Whilst on a break to that part of the country we used your pub after a visit to Lyme Park for a Sunday dinner. The venue was very pleasant. The staff including Amber that served us were very polite and efficient. The Sunday roast was excellent. No complaints at all

Everything was excellent! From the booking process, through to a welcome when we arrived, the service was exceptional and the food delicious. Was really looking forward to dinner having been out and about all day but was spoiled by a very cold venue, even asked if heating could be turned up or even on as radiator was stone cold. It was but only started heating up when we finished which was a shame. I had the Cumberland sausage which was not what I’d call a traditional one (the swirl variety) but 2, albeit tasty sausages. Only 2 sausages felt rather stingy sadly. My wife had traditional fish & chips but an interesting twist on the batter is what we’d say. Very disappointing and given the choice in the area so I’m afraid we won’t be rushing back. The waitress seemed surprised that we were cold as “this isn’t the coldest room” we were told. Lovely wood fires around, all ready to go but none lit either. Such a shame.

Had a great time again at Rams Head. The chef's fish special was amazing and Amber delivered a very attentive service throughout. The pub itself is an old coaching Inn and full of charm.

Friendly service throughout, from entering to leaving. Service looked v busy throughout, yet there was no issue with it at any stage. We registered our car upon entering, got a drink at the bar (some shandies) and took them out to the gardens prior to being seated at our table. We got served v quickly and had a roast dinner (duo of beef & trio of meats). Servings were generous (ample meat) and left you feeling full, so much so that we only had one course. The pub seemed to have many different areas including a private function room and a noisy bar area, yet where we were seated was quieter and comfortable. Overall it was a really enjoyable experience and a great feed. Would recommend.

Booked in advance, arrived early, table not quite ready which was fine, when sat at table given Sunday menu, chose what we wanted only then told that beef which is on 4 of 6 mains isn't availed for about an hour! Should have been told this when we arrived because then we could've decided if we were willing to wait, at thatching we had ordered and paid for a bottle of wine so we had no choice! Ordered a small starter to keep us going, which I don't think we should've had to pay for fir, food was fine when it came, waitress tried really hard to appease us, but won't go again!
