Red Dog Saloon in Liverpool

Currently eating my delicious double XL Cronos burger and I noticed two AMAZING waitresses and one bar staff working at lightning speed taking on the ENTIRE first floor! It’s a full house!! The best thing is they’re keeping everybody really really happy! I don’t know what they’re paid but they certainly deserve a raise.

This is hands down my favorite restaurant in town! The food is always incredible, from the smoky BBQ flavors to the indulgent sides—everything is cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is vibrant and the staff are so friendly and attentive. Whether it’s brunch or dinner, this place never disappoints. I always leave happy and already planning my next visit. A must-visit for anyone in Liverpool!

Same as the RedDog saloon in London was super happy with the food. Had a quick lunch with a friend. The brisket burger and mac n cheese were awesome. All topped with a reddog lager they have. Another 5 of 5 stars.

THOSE BURNT END NUGGETS ARE SUBLIME the sauce is to die for! I will come back specifically for that sauce I hope they never ever change the recipe :)

This place was amazing...the service was quick and food was well priced. All were attentive and had a good knowledge of what they were serving. Two of our group for the booking have allergies yet we were well taken care of by the staff to ensure there would be no danger of any allergic reactions. Will deffo be coming again

Even as a vegetarian, this place is incredible. Decent veggie options, decent drinks and the service is spot on. We’ll be back 💯!!

Bought a "sharing platter" little to my knowledge, I was told when we organised to split the bill that both me and my friend would pay DOUBLE the price, because two people where having it which doesn' make any sense. Shouldn't be labelled as a sharing platter if you're going to charge full cost per person who eats it - false advertistement and just utter robery

Food was nice and service was good but it's so expensive for what it is. You don't get any sides with the burgers so have to pay extra for them and it's £5.50 for a tiny cup of fries. Was shocked at how much the bill was when it came.

Had the loveliest meal ever! I’ve been thinking about those burnt end nuggets ever since. The best part was our wonderfully speedy, attentive and kind waitress, Anna. Thanks Red dog!

Nice staff and service. But the food is average and the value for money is bad. The trinity for £24.50 was really poor value, one rib,1 toast, 3 small slices of brisket and sausage, and no fries. The burger was decent, but again £21 without fries was way too expensive.

Great American themed restaurant with absolutely excellent food. Had a sharing platter and all the meats provided were delicious, particularly the brisket. Extremely generous portions can't wait to visit again!

Not usually one to leave reviews but was really impressed with red dog Liverpool. Seated quickly upon arrival. We asked our waiter what he would recommend and my wife went with his recommendation. Food arrived in minutes and was truly amazing (and well priced). The same waiter was attentive and made sure the drinks kept flowing. Let him know when we came to settle the bill how much he impressed us with both his service and recommendations. Already booked to go again with friends over the festive period

Everything was perfect, dog friendly - brought water and some chicken for the dog, servers were so lovely and food was perfect. The ONLY reason I gave the food 4 stars instead of 5 is because half of the menu wasn’t available but that was due to a gas leak. Very much worth it!

I’ve never felt so unwelcome and rushed at a restaurant in my life. From the moment we walked in, the front-of-house staff made it clear we weren’t a priority. The lady at the door couldn’t have cared less and left us with a sour taste before we even sat down. We were placed right by the entrance, at a table that hadn’t even been wiped down after the previous diners left. This meal was supposed to be a Christmas gift I’d been looking forward to all year, but instead, it’s now a bitter memory. Our server made things worse by rushing us through the meal. He barely waited for us to answer his questions before walking away and made it obvious he wanted us out as quickly as possible. While the food itself was good, the experience was completely ruined by the inattentive and dismissive service. I won’t be returning to Red Dog Saloon in Liverpool, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else either.

if i could give 0 stars i would. Ordered through deliveroo. missing sides and found a bone in my sandwich. phoned restaurant and sll i got was yeah that can happen from the Assistant manager... wow just wow. shocked! been a customer for years but wont ever be going back

Was disappointed as had to pay an extra £5 for a side of chips which were tiny and for the burger, was okay but very pricey for the size, not exciting

Really enjoyed my visit to the Red Dog. Visited whilst working up Liverpool so it was early in the week. Place wasn't to busy. Staff were great and the food was lovely. Highly recommended.

my nephew who has just moves to Liverpool Uni wanted to show me around his haunts. He mentioned he wanted to try this restaurant, so we did. Food was very good but the sharing platter was deceiving as the price was unclear whether the dish was per person or for the platter

Really disappointed with the food everything was so salty and over-seasoned. Asked for the burger to be pink it was overcooked Think we both ate 4 mouthfuls and that’s it. Waitress asked us why we hadn’t eaten we explained and all she did for us was tell the kitchen staff no discount applied and we paid over 100 pound. I’m really looking for a refund to be honest as we didn’t eat anything was so shocking and disappointed after being advised to try here from a friend.

To much salt on the food and really greasy where i felt sick all the next day , we only eat bits of the food because things didn't taste right. Smoke brisket taste like smoke fish , for £110 the is well better food in Liverpool town for your money, well better , I wouldn't be recommending this place to anyone

Went to the red dog saloon on Friday night with my partner -we were seated quickly but waited quite a while for both drinks and someone to take our order. we decided on the USS Oregon at £34.50 ( we were later told that is was a sharing platter and it was £34.50 each ) it had Brisket, st.louis cut pork ribs, buffalo wings, hot links, hickory pork shoulder, peach bourbon bbq, pit beans and mash, we changed the sides but as a first visit was excited to try the food - it looked nice but honestly for £80 we were disappointed - the food was nice but as nice as you would get in any takeout place, we walked back to the hotel very disappointed, also we payed cash and the lady that served us didnt even bother to try and give us our change, it wasn't much but we thought it was cheeky. will not go back

Food is absolutely delicious. Had burgers, brisket sandwhich, meat platter, all cooked perfectly.

Disappointing Anniversary Meal We had high hopes for our 10th-anniversary dinner at this smokehouse, but sadly, it missed the mark. Despite the promising menu, the experience fell flat in several areas. Starting with the positives, the beer was served in frozen glasses—a nice touch—though one glass had an odd fishy smell. The fries (once they eventually arrived) and chicken wings were decent, but that’s where the compliments end. Many beers and wines on the menu were unavailable, including our top choices, which set a disappointing tone from the start. Later we heard the staff telling just arrived customers that they were low on BBQ, this was at 7.30 on a Monday night. Our “platter for two” was both small and unremarkable for the cost. The brisket and ribs were overly fatty and heavy, lacking the smoky flavor and ring we expected. The pit beans had no texture, just a spicy, mushy consistency without any chunks of burnt ends or anything. Hot links tasted like canned hot dogs, and the mash was watery, resembling instant mash with bisto gravy powder rather than fresh sides. The burnt Texas toast was flipped over to hide the scorch marks—a rather telling detail. Service was inattentive, and we had difficulty getting staff’s attention even for basics. When we brought up our concerns at the end, they were dismissed with little interest, adding to our disappointment. Overall, the decor was more generic saloon than smokehouse-inspired, giving the place a chain restaurant feel. Unfortunately, this was far from the special meal we’d hoped for. We won’t be back.

Just had a couple of wines in here but food did look half decent, thought the choice of wine could have been better for the price 2x 175ml £15 but not a lot to choose from and bar staff not the knowledgeable on wine possibly, but nice atmosphere and possibly would go again

The online menu was different from the in store. They had got rid of nearly all hot dog options and we only found out once we sat down.

Went here looking for the best authentic American Food and I was not disappointed! I got the Cronos: Titan ruler of the universe XL and it was incredible. I eat a large amount and even I struggled eating the single XL and I could have got the double. All the meats in there were excellent quality and tasted like an Authentic American BBQ restaurant. Also got the chips which were incredible, can't fault the food at all! one thing which was slightly disappointing was the service, to be fair to them, I did go as soon as they opened but I don't believe thats an excuse to be slow with drinks and slow to take my order but the food 100% made up for that. The waiters were polite and had no issues on that end just bit slow. As you can expect, as soon as they open is not the time to go to get a good atmosphere! It was empty and no music until about half an hour after I arrived but I can completely understand the fact it was empty but not the music but wasn't a big deal. If your going for the atmosphere, go later on as it picks up then but early lunch its quite dead. Was excellent overall and would 100% recommend if you want a big, proper American meal

Liverpool branch of a chain that serves ATX style barbeque. Starting with the good, the brisket was good. The pork and beef ribs didn't come out of a smoker and tasted like they were reheated, with the beef rib a tad too burnt. The links were okay, not very spicy. The sides were okay.

The pictures were better on the spot. I am disappointed.

This is very DISAPPOINTING. Horrible service !!! Ordered and ended up waiting 2 hour and a half!!!! Not once they’ve answered their phone before closing. Waited for more than a hour and a half. A complete waste of my time. Don’t order.

FOOD TOOK TOO LONG! We have waited for more then 2 HOURS AND 30 minutes for our order. It’s an absolute joke. We had to cancel our order and to make it worst, by 11:30 when I decided to cancel the order all the restaurants were closed. Very very disappointed in this place. Never ordering again. A waste of time!

Will not be returning. I cannot fault the waiting staff, they were friendly and satisfactory. But service was small, only around 7 tables in attendance. Yet we waited close to an hour for our food. Our fries came out 10 minutes after our burgers and waited another 5 for our sauces. The dishes are individually ordered and don’t come as meals. So two burgers (1 double and 1 triple) , two fries , a portion of chicken bites and two cokes came out at £80 full price. Way too overpriced for what we got as a couple. The Aesthetic does not match the vibe of this place. An all American smokehouse vibe blasting rap and house music we couldn’t hear ourselves talking. The clientele was also abysmal. Heard a drug dealer talking to his punters on the phone when he was dropping off his stuff on one table. Had a gang of 10 fellas walking in together wearing their classic north face attire uniform stinking of weed on another table. Another table of fellas stumbling out their booth drunk while two of them took a questionably long trip into the toilets walking in wobbling and walking out full of energy wiping their noses. Maybe that’s not the restaurants fault of course. But this place caters for families, hence… children. And allowing in people who are bladdered, still serving them drinks and letting in people stinking of weed into a restaurant charging for premium service shouldn’t be happening. Not bothered what people get up to in their own time. But don’t allow it in your restaurant when there’s families and couples having a meal. If that’s who you want to let in, then you’ll have the riff raff staying in and decent people walking out. It’s an American style smokehouse not a sports bar

Food was poor to average and overpriced for what you get. Ordered the teriyaki beef burger which was about 60% caramelised onions so you can barely taste anything else. Had burnt end mash which was more like potato soup. Mozzarella sticks were massive! But tasteless. Maybe it was a bad night for me. Maybe for them. I wouldn't rush back.

Had a New York(i think) platter for 2 between me and my sister. Cheese burger was delicious, brisket was lovely, chicken stripes juicy, creamy corn - never tried ir before, but it was surprisingly good. Delicious food, great food service, relaxing atmosphere.

Quite evening. Already had a full English brekkie and burrito for lunch! So this went down a treat!

I'm sorry, but I didn't like it at all. The service was very slow, and above all the portions are really small if you consider how much they charge (18 pounds for a hot dog, but please...)

Perfect birthday burger. Just what I wanted

My partner and I LOVE the food here - we’re obsessed with the brisket and the beans. I must knock a star off for service, however. The first time we came was perfect. But last time we came here, we waited 30 mins for a table (we booked in and turned up on time). Albeit it was a Saturday evening and looked like they were understaffed. Staff were walking past us but we were not being acknowledged for a good 15 mins. I was seeing if I could get someone’s attention, but I’m pretty sure one of the servers gave me a discrete middle finger as she was walking by!! There was also loud live music which is understandable for a Saturday evening on bold street but we intended to be able to talk to each other over dinner. So might not be the best place to catch up on a weekend evening.

I recently visited Red Dog Saloon in Liverpool and had an amazing experience! We ordered the New York Platter for 3, and it did not disappoint. The platter came with creamy mac and cheese that was perfectly rich and indulgent, pit beans with a slight kick that added a nice touch of heat, and a brisket that was incredibly juicy and tender—it literally fell apart. The pulled pork was absolutely delicious, full of flavor, and the chicken tenders were huge and succulent. Every item was cooked to perfection. Honestly, the brisket here is even better than Hickory's. If you're craving authentic and hearty BBQ, Red Dog Saloon is the place to go!

Don't usually write reviews, but would avoid this place. Misleading menu, overpriced and low quality meat for a so called grill restaurant. Food was also poorly cooked and tasteless

Been a couple of times always great food and atmosphere. Staff always very friendly and good beers.

2nd time going to this burger joint and both times was absolutely blown away. Delicious burgers and great atmosphere make it a must visit for me when im in Liverpool. Most recent visit was on 17th of august and the 2 staff members we interacted with stood out as exceptional. Mollie our server and Usma on the bar. Both were really friendly and chatty immediately giving me banter and sass. It was great. It pushed a great visit into a fantastic one. Also the live music was super classy, paired with a glass of whiskey I felt very much like a cowboy that evening.

Didn't live up to expectations unfortunately, so slightly disappointed, food was cooked lovely, service was good but very deceiving from the pictures you see online to what you actually get and it's alot of money for what you actually get compared to other places serving same style of food! Bit gutted...

Went with 13 other friends on a day out. Was worried with some recent reviews, but I really enjoyed it. We were seated quickly to private area on the first floor, we were served with drinks quickly and the staff took our orders on time. Ended up ordering the USS kentucky, which is a platter, but it's got a minimum 2-person order. It was amazing. It reminded me of food when I go to America. It's enough to feed 2, so if you go with friends, maybe share amongst each other as there really is so much food and weren't able to finish it all off. It was tip quality food. For the 2 person platter, 6 drinks, it came to £100, including a tip. It you shared it between 4 people, it would be amazing quality for the price.

I took my boyfriend here on his birthday and we had a great time - we shared the net york platter, and it was amazing. The service for our whole meal was great, in particular one of the servers that was passing out table spotted that he had been given the wrong burger before we started (we had no way of knowing), and had it changed within minutes. We would definitely come back again!

Food was burned, tasted like charcoal

The food was amazing! Definitely recommend it just based on that. The service could be better ordered a cola never got it and they still charged me for it and only noticed after I paid. I was still sat there when I asked for this to be corrected but that becomes an issue so I left it but in fairness they did offer me a beer but we were done.

It was tasty but dreadfully over priced, this was the Reuben sandwich which was £17.00. Not a lot for a hefty price tag.... I only realized later that I never received the crisps and iced tea that was meant to come with it. We also had 2 single patty burgers, 2 pints and a lime and soda and the total bill was an eye watering £89. Not one I can recommend all things considered.

Food is always spot on, absolute quality meat. Sometimes there can be change up in the menus, but that has no impact on the quality and taste of the food. Staff are absolutely lovely and the manager is such a friendly geniue guy, we love him and always has a chat and makes you feel welcome. Also, best mozzarella sticks in Liverpool.

Good menu and presentation. However, I found the meats to not be of the best quality and the service to be on the less professional side. My opinion is slightly overpriced for what is being served.

We went on a Wednesday so it was pretty quiet, that’s how we like it. We started with scallops and if reviewing those alone I’d give them a 5, absolutely delicious and so meaty! They come in shells too which is a nice touch. Then we got the Oregon platter, this is where we (personally) were a little disappointed. Reason being for the price, hickory’s platter is cheaper and nicer. The service was great, all the team were really friendly and attentive. The toilets are a little unusual.. you have your own little cubicle with sink mirror etc all down a corridor for the women and at the end of the corridor is a normal gents room. I thought that was different and they were nice and clean. I would go back but I’d definitely try a burger next time. I will say it’s a little on the pricey side so wait for payday!

For the price this was poor. Ordered a Double XL burger expecting to be over come with meat and was left with all that can de described as a Double Quarter Pounder from McDonalds. It was bland, too pink and not nice at all. Waited 10 minutes for cutlery. Only part of the order that was right was the Aperol Spritz. Won’t be coming here again and couldn’t get out fast enough.

Red Dog Saloon in Southampton is a fantastic place for a night out! The atmosphere is cozy and vibrant, perfect for hanging out with friends. I ordered the largest size cheeseburger, which came with fresh-cut onion, American cheese, homemade dill pickle, baby gem, and their signature Red Dog sauce. It was absolutely mouthwatering and cooked to perfection. On the side, I had the fries, which were crispy and delicious. My friends also loved their meals, and we were all impressed with the quality and taste. The service was friendly and efficient, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommend Red Dog Saloon for anyone looking for great food and a good time!

We ordered the platters at £32 each which I thought was a crazy price. There was a huge amount of food. I reckon we left three quarters of it. However, it said it was served with ice tea and we didn't get any. Considering how much we left nobody checked if everything was ok or if we needed a take out box. The other people on the table had popcorn chicken and a burger. All served on tiny side plates or small buckets, no coleslaw as advertised. The staff paid us absolutely zero attention. We had one drink and had to keep getting their attention to ask for drinks. The staff just stood around chatting or were on their phones. The service was absolutely atrocious and some of the conversations the team were having were totally inappropriate. I am a restaurant manager and I was appalled at the service. I'd have been furious if they were my team . And then on top of that the service charge was added and they didn't deserve any of it at all! Such a shame it promised so much and delivered so little. I just wish the service could have been better, or even mediocre, but it was just so, so bad.

We made a booking and travelled over an hour get there, just to be told that there was no bbq meat being served, bearing in mind their main selling point is ‘Texas BBQ’, we still ordered a burger each and a few side, but the service itself was terrible and they brought out the wrong sides or the wrong amount of sides multiple times. Very disappointing considering the travelling we did for this specific restaurant and the way the restaurant is structured itself in terms of how it is run is quite frankly embarrassing. After this experience we got 20% off and a back handed apology.

Disappointed Instagram made this place look amazing and it was rubbish, overpriced food, no flavour, greasy, food cooked from frozen, food came out at different times. I can cook better than this

Overpriced and nothing special. 5.50 for a portion of fries. Ordered a Cuban sandwich which was a fatal mistake. Plastic cheese and turkey ham. I imagine it would be appealing. If you were in prison. Not saying don't try this place. Menu sounds great. Food is bang average and you'll definitely need to go the toilet straight after. Moral of the story Don't go a burger joint and order a sandwich.

Found this restaurant while walking around Liverpool, and I'm happy we did. The food is so good here. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. The portions are really big but worth it. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
