Red Onion Indian Restaurant in Barnet

I usually only order starters from the restaurant and have takeaways delivered but all food is always cooked to perfection, served with all sundries and always make me happy to indulge in a takeaway! Highly recommended! Try for yourself :)

Had a takeaway, for two. Meat and veg samosa, bit of a kick, very good. Lamb chops, very tasty, not enough meat, though. Chicken jalfrezi, lovely. Mixed rice, perfect. Saag bahji, wonderful. Very good takeaway, cost £42 Visited restaurant had lamb chops, partner had mixed grill, saag bahji, rice, keema nann, large glass of red wine and one bottle of lager. Total price £57. Food was absolutely amazing. Paul

Sadly I can't recommend this place. Both me and my partner got a bad food poisoning. In over 15 years of having Indian takeaway this never happened to us. But even regardless of that the food wasn't very good. Particularly the curry dishes lacked any flavour.

A very small restaurant, however, it’s really cosy and lovely. Amazing food and very, very friendly service. There was hardly any wait time for our food and the food served to us was prepped and cooked really well. Reasonably priced food and alcohol. Very impressed and will definitely be returning for more!!

Excellent food , the lamb is so tender . The tandoori is very good. Every dishes we have had are all great The service is top , we always feel very welcome each time . We recommend it

Starter was nice but the Chicken Jalfrezi tastesless and very watery. Gave the takeaway a try but probably will not use again.

Absolutely disgusting staff wearing scruffy dirty clothing no shirt or tie food was even worse no taste very bland rice looked reheated chicken dry with a stale after taste old table cloth with holes cutlery very old and scratched £21 for tasteless food that was the worst curry I have ever tasted and that's me being nice please save your money and eat somewhere else I'm an ex chef so was not impressed

Lovely takeaway and quick delivery. Starters and main courses were hot, fresh and flavoursome. Usually a take away is not as nice as eating in but this was top notch. We have eaten in once before and this was jus as good. Also a 10% discount for deliveries. 100% recommend. (We ordered extra due to the discount)

We had a takeaway last night and it was really good. Even had some chicken wings thrown in and it was delivered promptly and with care.. my neice and partner said it was the best Indian they have had.

Nice, chill out restaurant with tasty food and friendly staff. Been here several times and also had deliveries, food are always fresh and on point. Its affordable, family friendly and also a nice, romantic spot. Whatever atmosphere you're looking for that's chilled out, you got it here and you can enjoy conversations without shouting over loud music like other places. Honestly, everything about this place is perfect and I recommend it wholeheartedly!!! Update 19th February 2023... Got mouthwatering dinner here last night and it was as fresh as daisy. Staff are always friendly and welcoming, even to my very young kids who earned themselves free chocolates and my 3yr old said "mammy, we should eat there everyday"💖 I'm not gonna lie, the food here is made with love. It's authentic, fresh, delicious and pocket-friendly too. If you've never had food from Red Onion restaurant, you're missing out big time. Do it now and thank me later😋

Very tasty Biriyani and nice portion size, the Mixed Kebab was delicious as well would definitely recommend.

Really enjoyed our delivery tonight. Finally after trying lots of Indian restaurants in the area we’ve found a great local. Only suggestion is to explain the ingredients on delivery apps for those with allergies. Will order again

Great quality food and service, butter chicken was really tasty as was the chicken curry and vegetable curry. I would highly recommend.

Had a really good meal today, the food was incredible, the staff super friendly and welcoming and on a Sunday it’s 30% off so our lunch was really cheap!!! Would really recommend!

Vegetable curry is the best, pilau rice not my favourite, lamb madras not my favourite coconut rice is the best but the guys who work here are brilliant

A Friday night takeaway fit for a King! After a while of not having an indian takeaway, this was a great reminder of what I'd been missing! A tandoori mix, a masala, rice, chat aloo, naan were just some of the highlights that arrived! The guy that delivered this feast was nice and friendly, much like all the staff I've met whilst picking up a takeaway or eating in the restaurant. This is yet again another 5 star rating, this was my original hidden diamond in East Barnet!

Good food. Real Indian. Portions are small though and there is little space when you sit. But food is wanderful. Much better and looking forward to coming back soon!

Used to love your restaurant. What happened when I visited with 5 other people on Wednesday 6th Novemeber, to celebrate a birthday! Lovely greeting from staff, then no attention by staff and food was not up to your usual standard. Normally, first class, best for a 5mile radius of your business. We spent a lot of money with you and more than deserved gratuity. There was no mention of the birthday being celebrated, and we thought maybe a small cake and candle would have been nice or complimentary liquor after the meal. No offer of coffee. We have visited on previous occasions and have used your excellent delivery service..outstanding food always. Kindly reply Thank you

Had such a great experience at the Red Onion. The server asked us what kind of dishes we usually order and he brought us something he thought we would like. I had the best dish I’ve ever had. He said it was a typical Pathia dish and it was sweet and also had a spicy kick. Great value for a three course meal. We will definitely be back!

Look no further for the best curry house. Nice, warm and friendly.

Our local and love the food. They have a great buffet on Sundays for 9 quid but the normal menu is also nice and not that expensive.

Twice we have had a takeaway both times cold,bombay potatoes hardly any taste very disappointed
