From the moment I entered Red Sails the staff were very kind and nothing was to much trouble. Service at the bar was quick and the lady had a laugh with me and my daughter when ordering our food. My grandson's meal came to the table in a timely manner, which was helpful as our table didn't wait long before we got our carvery, which was lovely, once again the man serving the roasts was really nice and engaged in our banter. I must say the gravy was fantastic, I always say the gravy makes a meal haha. The atmosphere was great the children's area was brilliant, even my 2 grown children loved it. And last but not least, the pub was spotless and I am looking forward to my next visit. Thank you for a very pleasant experience 🌻

Popped in for a quick lunch while my car was being repaired nearby. Served by Rich, Sammy and Amelia. Food arrived quick and was fabulous.

Food wasn't great, the carvery was tasteless and over cooked!

First time here, definitely coming again, the food was so tasty especially the leeks and onion, wow. Staff really friendly. Only complaint is we were seated near the door which was constantly banging, but overall a great place.

The staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. It's always difficult to find somewhere to eat out for my coeliac partner, we will definitely be coming back here though. There was plenty of options for coeliac and otherwise. All food was cooked to perfection and was very tasty! Overall a lovely meal out and we can't wait to come back.

Upon arrival we ordered two carverys one with pigs and blankets we was not given a ticket with pigs and blankets which then when we gave the man the tickets he was very arrogant and rude about there own mistake the potatoes was very cold and hard and they was no gravy in either of the gravy pots so by the time we got some gravy our food was even colder the only person who seemed to be happy in there was the woman waiter who was very polite. Not satisfied with my visit today.

Just been for a carvery for the first time. Got a small one priced at I think £8.49 or £8.99. Got the tiniest amount of meat! Going by Toby carvery, there medium is same price as Red sails small one, and you get miles more meat. The meat however was nice and the rest was, although not masses of choice. The pub was nice inside, plenty of places to sit, and was lovely and warm. I wouldn't however go back for that price and the amount of meat

Food was OK but appalling service after a family member had a health incident at the pub. Bear in mind how cold it was outside my mother was told to go outside rather than stay inside and keep warm whilst her husband was getting checked over in an ambulance after having 3 fits. Disgusting, the least they could have done was to sit her down maybe give a warm drink whilst she waited for the ambulance people to come back to her as she was upset and worried and wait for them to let her know how her husband was and why he fitted.

Very friendly and helpful staff, clean and well maintained facilities, just a little bit pricey for a pub grub experience.

Last minute decision to call in this evening to get something to eat. Opted for the Steak Night deal and upgraded to the 8oz Sirloin. It was a good choice, cooked to order as requested and tasted great. Not the normal choice for us (steak) in a chain pub, but this was exceptional. Great meal at a great price, thanks Gavin and team. 5*

Love going ro red sails my favourite carvery in the world with great carrots love them. The gravy is always spot on and always has a consistent consistency. Great price too for the amount of food you can stuff onto the plate which is always a 5 star reason. Will be going back for many years and I am 15 so will be enjoying your service and food for a long time.

We was really well looked after, I made a mistake when ordering the desserts and you accommodated us by letting choose something else , the desserts was amazing. The grandkiddies was happy and relaxed , all 8 of us enjoyed it and the atmosphere was so welcoming. Thankyou all very much x

Service, food, hospitality are always amazing, best carvery in hull, we dont go anywhere else, staff are lovely, always go that extra mile for you ,linzi is so lovely and friendly, always time for quick chat, I booked for all my family boxing day ,It was so nice ,doing it again this year, the desserts are to die for ,so many different types of cakes ,highly recommended, by me and all my family.

The Pub was nice and accomodating, Last min table booked for xmas work meal. Lots of space and lovely atmosphere and helpful staff. All food came out together (were 8 of us) and was of a good quality and very tasty! Good price and great visit overall.

I normally go for your carvery which I must say is 10/10. However I got the ultimate chicken burger after they was no fish and chips :( and it did disappoint, the chicken was hard and quite dry on the burger. I do think it let it down when I usually enjoy it so much , I maybe wouldn’t order a chicken burger again in the future

After our first visit, which we did because Red Sails appreciates and respects Blue Light card holders, We were so impressed with everything from seating, the service, friendliness of staff and lastly but not not lastly in priorities the Food. We settled for the carvery at a very modest price, but worth every penny. Choice of Vegetables was outstanding and the cut of meat was tender fat free and delicious. We now go most weekends but tend to get disappointed at times as it is rammed to the rafter, so it is not only us who appreciate Red Sails. Oh another item worth mentioning is the location and parking is very handy for the A63 and inward to the Ferry Port, lots of people stop at Red Sails before joining the Ferry to the Continent, mainly on a weekend I have found.

Visited and had another great meal at Red Sails. Carvery always lovely and good choice of vegetables. Pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff including Linzi.

On entry to the premises we were welcomed by happy smiling bar staff. My wife placed our drinks order while I used the toilet, which was nice & clean. As the dining area was busy my wife enquired about having a meal & where we may sit with our daughter& grandson, she was given the necessary information & told we could sit wherever we wanted. We found a nice quiet table near the kids play area. When we were ready we ordered our meals, 2 x carvery 2 x chicken strips & a child's pasta portion with garlic bread. All the meals were in my opinion good value for money & very tasty too. My grandson finished off most of his pasta & tried the healthy carrot & cucumber sticks that came with it, he wasn't a big fan of the healthy stuff but it did give him a try of these vegetables which I thought was a nice touch. The waitresses were attentive but not too intrusive. All in all a nice time was had & I will return in the future.

Double gin & tonic was a single rip off. Hair found on food, hard fried eggs Amounted to our gammon late full price and size lunches. Came last week, usually go to the excellent Three Crowns only returned as was fairly good but Will not be back at all yuk yuk yuk!

Work nite tea and it was shocking service,asking us to pass plates over people.instead of the waitress walking round the table with the meals! curry was watery and the peppercorn sauce on my colleagues meal was inedible. We go here from work but we will be trying somewhere else next time!

From making my booking for 15 people on the website to leaving Red Sails I can only say the Team went above and beyond as usual! I made an error when booking and had to call the pub a really friendly girl answered and soon sorted me out thank goodness. Next I received a lovely phone call from a member of the Team telling me that we may not be able to sit where we wanted as there was already a large party in that area (near the kids indoor play area) but he went the extra mile to put is in a nice comfortable area with more room. I received a confirmation email and text and had the opportunity to cancel if I needed (very easy to reply on the text you just say yes or no). On arrival we were met by some Santa's elves (its that time of year) who seated us at our table with big smiles :-). The food was fabulous not long to wait and enough bar staff on so there wasn't any queues. The chef serving the carvery was brilliant very friendly and chatty and fresh vegetables and meat were continuously being brought out. Excellent service all round Red Sails is now our 'go to place' thank you everyone for a great night!

Was busy for the time we went, but the staff didn’t miss a beat! There was a queue at the order point so another was immediately opened, the carvery was well stocked and beautifully cooked, the guy carving even cut especially fatty bits of meat for me (I’m pregnant and it’s my craving) Ebony checked in with us twice that all was good as well as bringing me a box to take home my left overs as I definitely had eyes bigger than my belly! They accept tastecard too so we received 25% off which was a bonus! I’ve missed Red Sails since relocating to Scarborough but I’ll definitely be making an effort to visit more regularly!

We had carvery here yesterday. The food was delicious and the server was polite and friendly. Also Amber who attended us at the table was pleasant and professional.

Very welcoming. Young called Keisha served our meals and let us know when my wife could collect her carvery as I was having from the grill, this was a great idea has we both ate at the time which was good wish all restaurants did the same.

Went for a meal here the other night with my family, great service from Ellie very attentive, carvery was lovely too.

Everything was just perfect. Staff are so friendly and they cant do enough for you. The pub was really busy, but it was clean and tidy with everything under control. The food was outstanding, we had four carvery's, cannot fault the food at all. Fantastic meal and service, thank you.

The carvery was lovely and even though it was really busy, the one non-carvery meal we ordered was served very quickly. All staff were very friendly and welcoming and it made for a great experience.

We had a wonderful experience thanks to our waitress, Keisha. She went above and beyond to ensure our meal was perfect. Not only did she double-check our order to make sure everything was correct, but she also checked in to ensure we were happy throughout our visit. Her friendly and attentive service truly stood out, and the food was absolutely amazing. Keisha’s professionalism and warm demeanor made our dining experience exceptional. Highly recommend!

Went for a quiet drink towards their closing time. Lovely interior, well decorated for the Christmas season. We didn't have food but the place smelled wonderfully of nice food. The bar person was attentive and served the drinks well. A lovely experience, we will visit again if in the area.

Arrived at 12:30pm with no table booked and staff managed to find us a table. Ordered online as was on my own with a small child. Food arrived quickly.

Wow unbelievable what people from Hull will accept- Picked the carvery BIG MISTAKE Ham - poorly trimmed for too much fat on this . Yorkshire large - absolutely cold Peas - shrivelled dried Carrots - good still warm Sprouts- good still warm Gravy - congealed lukewarm slop Pigs in blankets - brought to the table way undercooked - the pig was pulling the blanket under his chin Staff fetched brown sauce and stood it on the lid on the table as there was only 1 cm left in the bottle. I reckon if William booth did lunches it would outdo this joint The cook needs a lesson in when food is cooked- basic really The staff need a lesson in when the sauce is empty. All in a pathetic place to spend your cash They are aiming at the low forehead people- volume over Quality. I’ll put this down as giving cash to charity. Fully expect a stupid response from the owner in a futile attempt to say no other complaints, isolated issues, new staff, the dogs go out, blah blah blah Looking at the one star reviews says a lot, this owner cares about his profit over his clients that’s why there are so many unsatisfied customers.

Excellent, hot food on the carvery where the vegetables don’t seem like a second thought. Please never change the carrots or parsnips as they really make the meal. The queue for the carvery was long but we visited on a Sunday afternoon and the food was totally worth it. Staff were so friendly, Amelia Elf in particular was happy to let us know about the festivities. Very child friendly with the play area outside. I would recommend this pub over any other chain pub serving carvery’s.
