Stumbled across this cafe, a warm welcome greeted us. The food was well cooked, tasty and excellent value. This is a community venture that fully deserves your support and custom if you are in the area. You will be rewarded with a lovely meal and a nice quirky setting.

A lovely cosy place that’s easy to miss off the street. Friendly and helpful staff and the food is very tasty. There’s a good range of vegan options for breakfasts & lunch/dinners. I had the veggie breakfast and swapped the egg for extra beans. The veggie sausages are yummy too. And one of my personal favourites, they offer not just soya milk but also oat milk too. I paid £6 for a breakfast deal which is fairly reasonable. I’ll definitely be popping back soon to try out the vegan curry and chilli options too 🕺😃👍

Un lugar cálido y acogedor con un personal encantador que se toma el tiempo para conversar. Pedí una moca. . Delicioso. Desayuno vegetariano ordenado. . ¡Yum Yum! La comida salió caliente. Salchichas de verduras muy agradable. . 2 huevos fritos hechos como a mí me gusta. Setas no sacadas de una lata. Frijoles y 2 hash browns. Tostada marrón no cuadrada. . Pan adecuado.

Rosa

We went here for breakfast this morning. I had a full English. It was a classic fry up! Everything you’d expect. Cooked really well. Great service and it’s run by a charity so you are helping the community just by going there!! We will definitely be going again soon. Highly recommend.

This community run cafe is wonderful. The staff a professional and friendly, the prices are ridiculously low and it's great for a real proper fry-up. No tinned mushrooms or tomatoes here. All fresh. Highly recommended cafe experience. Buses no 1, 5, 10 and 12 all stop just by the establishment. So easy access from the city centre and East Oxford.

Two sausages, two bacon, two hash browns, an egg, mushrooms, beans, a slice of toast and a cup of tea... Well cooked and five quid - you can't say better than that! It's run by Turningpoint as a social enterprise and is staffed by their volunteers, who should be very proud of themselves for making such a success of it.

Every morning i stop and get a coffee here. Service is always with a smile and their coffee is definitely the best on Cowley road. It's also cheaper than the better known coffee shops! Go and see for yourself, you won't regret it!

I've eaten lunch here a couple of times now, and every time the staff have been friendly, provided good service and served up tasty, homecooked-style food. Outstanding value too. Where else can you get an all-day breakfast with a cup of coffee for a fiver? Nowhere in a two-mile radius of this place, I can tell you!

Whilst staying in Oxford with friends we were out looking for a place to have breakfast and stumbled upon this place! Breakfast for a fiver you say! Well you wouldn't usually expect much for a fiver!! 2 sausages, 2 pieces of bacon, 2 hash browns, egg, beans, mushrooms, tomato, tea or coffee and a slice of toast!! Best fiver spent in Oxford this week! The only downside was a bit of a wait for the food, but it was well worth the wait! I will definitely eat here on my next trip to Oxford.

Recently refurbished and looks great. Large breakfast for just £5 (and not at all greasy). Friendly staff, great atmosphere and huge photos on walls. Complete with sofas, dining areas inside and on decking area out the back. Get there before the students fill the seats.

My son and I wanted a coffee and this place looked interesting. We went inside, there was no staff at the counter. We waited about 3 minutes and looked around for someone (which wasn't hard, as it's tiny), but there was no sign of anyone so we left and went to Costa next door.Shame, as we wanted to support an independent retailer, but ended-up putting more money into the coffers of a £7b company (Whitbread, who own Costa).

Recently was offered a freebie hot chocolate on walking past this premises recently after it opened, thought it was nice so though next time I'm down this way would pop in for a tea/coffee/chocolate break, well was down that way a couple or so weeks ago and thought would give it a try, wasn't sure if there was seating or just over the counter sales, so when I entered I was surprised to see there was a dining area to sit down, rather large area as well compared to the small shop front. Well decided to have a late breakfast and was given generous couple of bits of bacon, back not streaky type so was surprised and happy, sausages were tasty, and near everything else was excellent and reasonable priced as well with mug of tea included. There was a selection of cakes & snacks on offer, my wife had a peri peri wrap and she enjoyed that as well. Only negative was the beans I had with my breakfast, which were of the cheap type, which was surprising as I had nice quality bits of bacon and cheap 'watery sauce' beans. Will visit again of course when I have a stroll down the cowley road.

I work near Refresh and stop by several times a week for a drink and a snack. Apart from the great work this place does for the community and it's staff, it's also a great cafe. The staff are all friendly and will stop to chat while the prices make it affordable for most to hang out or keep in from the rain. A stand out on a street full of good cafés and coffee shops.

This place offers an example to all, with the fantastic work they do within the community. The product itself is not flashy, but is very reasonably priced, especially with 20% student discount, and is exactly what you expect. The atmosphere is great with a good mix of people, and simple yet effective decoration.

This is a passable location for a quick snack. There was nothing special about this establishment; the food was not great, and the service was very slow. The staff members who were working were quite friendly, though. I would recommend this for the price, as it is a very lunch-friendly menu. However, I cannot recommend it based on the ratings, as it doesn't match my experience.

We have visited England several times but never on a Sunday. I've been so disappointed to miss their famous Sunday roasts. This season, we found ourselves in the Costswolds over a Sunday and I was excited to partake in this Sunday tradition. After a few internet searches, I stumbled upon an article in favor of the Chester Arms. It bragged about a long line around the block. We made a reservation months in advance. We found ourselves in the middle of an unassuming neighborhood. The restaurant was quaint and filled with locals. That being said, the best thing I can say about the restaurant is local convenience. The appetizers are middle Eastern inspired. You won't find Yorkshire pudding or any good gravies here nor any tender meat. The meat is flavorful but difficult to chew and beef is your only option. This isn't a type of place you want to go to for your Sunday roast but this may be the place you go to if you don't want to drive beyond your street.

I had a coconut Custard bun which was nice and spongy with a really nice filling. The matcha latte was yummy too. I would come back here again if I'm in the area.
