Rioja in Doncaster

It was our first time visiting Coppa so unbeknown to us, we’d arrived an hour before their food sitting so instead we enjoyed a drink. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable in wines and the atmosphere was so lovely and chilled. We decided to wait for the food sitting due to how lovely the staff were. I’m very glad we did because the food was better than we’d imagined. Incredible food, service, staff and wines which they were well versed in, helping us pick the perfect wine to go with our mains. We will definitely be returning, although we’re not from Doncaster this place is definitely worth the trip!!

First time visit last night. Exceptional. The dishes were sophisticated and full of flavor. The service was attentive and highly professional, Decent decor and warm atmosphere made for a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Highly recommended

Beautiful meals for four of us, each one a different dish. Delicious wine and the most warmest, friendliest, kind, funny staff in the whole of Doncaster - don't go as we want it all to ourselves.

Love it. It has a great atmosphere, a great, and a lovely relaxing atmosphere. The team, who are led by Dan, are amazing. It is a credit to them as they work so hard to please all of the people who come for a really relaxing time and it enables them to relax, unwind and regroup

Had lovely lunch here with a nice glass of wine. The sea bass and burgers were both excellent. Great place good vibe

After travelling 3 hours from London Came across the Coppa Bar after being recommended the local pub. Well didn’t look any further as soon as we saw the outside seating!!! Had an amazing meal And a good few glasses of fizz!! Will defo be back when next in Doncaster. Service was fantastic, could not have been more helpful! Very nice vibe 👌👌👌

The food is out of this world! I have never experienced flavour like this before. Every dish was unbelievable. If you like food then try this place. The staff are amazing and the atmosphere is relaxed. I will definitely be back again and again. 5 stars is not enough!

We went to Coppa on Father’s Day for a bite to eat and a few drinks. My sister had a pina colarda and said it’s the best one she’s ever tasted. We took our 1 year old baby who was asleep in the pushchair and the staff made us a space accessible with our pushchair and were very welcoming and helpful. The food was absolutely sensational!! The freshly baked bread with some amazing dips, beef brisket tacos, scotch egg and chips. The chips were the best chips we had ever tasted. We can’t wait to return!

The new food menu seems small but makes up for it in quality. We had several items between 3 of us, shared each dish and were all delicious. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was chilled and relaxed. Could not fault the cocktails or the barman always happy to answer questions about any drink you might like. Definitely shall be returning in a hurry.

Love the interior design! The staff are great, they know their drinks. I tried the orange wine after seeing Matt on the newsletter & it was very nice, but my favourite was the Limincello Spritz cocktail 🍹😍 The food was 100% too to nibble whilst chatting to my friends! Would highly recommend a visit, the vibe, atmosphere is amazing.

Really loved the soft launch of the bar side of Coppa Bar & Eatery. Great atmosphere, really excellent cocktail menu at very good prices, with some great draught beers and a very nice wine menu, too. They've really taken care to choose drinks that will help them create a distinctive brand. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. It's just a very easy place to spend an evening and we can't wait until they launch the food side. If we lived closer, this would be our local. Highly recommended.

There's ample comfortable seating options, perfect for lounging or mingling. The cocktails were a highlight; expertly crafted by a talented mixologist, they were delivered promptly without any wait. The diverse drink selection left us impressed, and we're eagerly anticipating trying out their new food menu. Additionally, the abundance of outdoor seating is a definite plus. Overall, a top-notch experience that my partner and I highly recommend!

The newly refurbished bar was warm and welcoming. The service was great and cocktails were made properly! Looking forward to going back again!

We had a funeral buffet here 28.4.23 All was absolutely beautiful, the food was exceptional and the service was excellent. Thank you to Lee and David for making the day special. Our guests said it was the best buffet they had ever had and great choice of drinks .

Wow! what can I say, food absolutely lip smacking, service on food and drinks A⭐️. Ordered from party menu and couldn’t manage dessert so a percentage was knocked off. Can’t recommend enough!!

I’ve passed this please most mornings to collect paper from the shop next door. Unfortunately and at my cost I have never given Rioja a second thought. However, I decided last week to give it a try. Wow, what a surprise, first of all the place is pleasant small basic in its seating but spotless, it’s cuisine is a take on tapas, but with good size portions, we had, the Nachos, a chicken dish, a steak and mussels, so plentiful we had to leave a little. We accompanied the meal with a bottle of white wine, a mix of Chardonnay and Sauvignon, which was excellent, by the way the wine glasses were clean and shiny, always a good sign. The service was excellent and the cost reasonable at £60. This won’t be my last visit. I rated it 4/5 however it’s nearer 4.5/5

Arranged to meet friends at our local, didn’t book as we wasn’t eating, walked to the bar and Lee the owner said have you booked we said no he said well there’s no tables but then told us there was a table for 2, our friends were to join us 10 mins later so not a seat for them, he could see we were stood, all the time we were there 2 regular customers were sat on a table for 6 people, clearly some favouritism going on! Went to the Maple as would rather give them our money than someone who’s not bothered about custom

The dishes are amazing and decent portions well presented. Drinks are good too no dirty or worn out glasses. The place also really nice and a little quirky so really worth a visit.

I live in Spain and was visiting family in Doncaster. The tapas was fantastic. Better than any tapas I have had in Spain. The two young ladies who served us were absolutely lovely. Cannot fault this restaurant 😊

No paella??? Really at a tapas restaurant!!!

We were a group of 4 friends. When we arrived we were placed on the six seater table in the middle of the restaurant. Greeted by lovely staff, very quick service. We found the seats to this table very uncomfortable, so we asked to move to a different table with more comfortable seats. The staff were great about this and we were moved. We were advised to order two dishes each because the portions were large, to be honest we should have ordered three each what we normally do at a Tapas because we found the portions were not very generous. The service was great with happy staff. Great live music and great atmosphere.

Ok. Not the best place I've been to but not the worst either.

Welcoming staff, pleasant interior, great menu choice and the food was delicious. Our electric vehicle journey planner, from the north east to Suffolk brought us to the EV charger round the corner. We recharged ourselves at Rioja!

I have been a few times to Rioja and enjoyed the food.However the catalan bread was previously fresh tomatoes on crisp baguette. Yesterday it was a soft bread and a tomato paste which made it soggy.also the olives were huge and bitter .bring back the old catalan bread and lively small olives

The food was great in its variety and taste. Atmosphere was good with low and high tables creating a rustic feel when coupled with the decor. Wine was good value for money. Staff were slow and lacked any warmth

Amazing and tantalising variety of tapas. Excellently presented and very appetising. Service extremely attentive and friendly. Fantastic atmosphere which made our meal with family all the more enjoyable. Would highly recommend, can't wait to go back and try more dishes.

Went for breakfast. Eggs florintine with added advacado & hulliomi was aboustly gorgeous ( couldn't eat it all though) daughter had banoffee pancakes again gorgeous. Staff polite and friendly . Would highly recommend.

Called in after work for a drink. Ordered drinks and Breads with olives. 25 minutes later bread hadn’t arrived and we had finished our drink. Mentioned to staff who were very unfriendly with no apology and just said 2 minutes Waited nothing happened, asked to cancel and staff just said ok! No apology! Overall felt unwelcome

We went with some friends on Saturday night for tapas and drinks. I’ve been before and always enjoyed it whether it be breakfast or dinner. This was our first visit since before lockdown, the menu had lots of choice and the food was delicious. I love the laid back atmosphere here and can’t wait to go again!

Highly recommend the tapas,we had breads and olives followed by Iberico pork - Salt cod, px Chicken and sizzling prawns - the food looked amazing and tasted equally as good, this is not your average tapas restaurant we cant wait to go back and try it again

Met friends tonight for tea, the best meal iv had in a long time, I had chicken breast burger with chorizo and mozzarella, stunning! It was also beautifully presented on a wooden bored. They have got it so right in there 👍🏻

Eating at rioja has become somewhat of a regular thing for me and my mates. The bar it’s a brilliant place decorated in a really trendy up to date fashion. The staff are always very attentive coming o er to the table welcoming us and taking our drinks order. The menu is extensive (I’ve had both breakfast and main menu, both brilliant) there a huge range of tapas dishes, pizzas and build your own burger. We went on Saturday and had the tapas. Every dish was amazing and the presentation was brilliant. I really can’t recommend this place enough

My wife and I called today for a coffee and ended up having the 3 tapas for £15The tapas were larger than some places we’ve been to, and really can’t fault the quality. Don’t know her name but the young women with glasses was lovely and very friendly and polite we got on really well with her.Nice setting and will return. It would have been a 5 rating apart from the main door. Every time it was opened it was cold as it didn’t shut properly.If you’ve not been give it a go. We’re going to go back and try the breakfast options as they are also different

I absolutely love Rioja. The atmosphere is so welcoming and very relaxed. The food is absolutely delicious and so well presented. I’m very impressed with how flexible the chef (Dave) is in terms of catering for vegans - the pancakes are so yummy, plus the avocado/ mushroom toast - to die for! They also have oat milk (the most sustainable dairy-free milk). I highly recommend a visit!

Nice atmosphere and good reception. Table for 6 easily sorted by pulling the tables together.Friendly waitress took our orders. Only our table ordered food but waited nearly 40 minutes for it to arrive!All dishes were a fair size for Tapas apart from the chicken skewers. 2 of us had them and commented that they were tough, dry and cold. Had someone come to ask us if everything was OK with our meals we would have told them.Only when the waiter came to collect the plates did we say anything. He nodded and muttered something but clearly wasn't going to pass our comment on which was a shame.Customer service could be improved. Overall the food was good shame about the chicken.

I have been meaning to try this place for absolutely ages, and finally today I did. Just had a lovely long lunch with a friend, we ordered five Tapas dishes and bread (with olives and oils and butter) - and there was enough food to feed four people! Thankfully we are both greedy so there wasn't much waste. The Tapas were absolutely delicious with bags of flavour (the star of the show for us today was their confit salmon with muscles and a scrummy cheesy creamy sauce). It is a perfect and relaxed place for "grazing" with friends. Service was lovely and informal, a great find and I will definitely be back

Great place never fails to disappoint, friendly staff, good food at a reasonable price in a trendy setting. We go here at least once a month and there are always new things on the menu to keep us interested. Well worth a visit.

We visited Rioja on Saturday lunch time to meet with my brother and family who live local. How we wish this was local to us!!! The food and service were both excellent. Large selection of drinks. We had the cocktails which were delicious. A very nice atmosphere and surroundings. We will definitely be back in the New year.

Fabulous little tapas bar! The staff were friendly and extremely accommodating. The wine list had loads to choose from and even plenty of cocktails on offer. Ended up ordering the burgers as we were very hungry. The burgers were good quality with homemade chips. Nice that you can build your own as well. Definitely will be returning to have the tapas and try breakfast!

What a great decision - Nice atmosphere & wonderful food. Won't be long before we return with friends this year.

Its been a few months since we ate here, we booked a table for breakfast on a fairly busy Friday morning. 1 person working, who seemed rushed off her feet. she came over promptly, took our coffee order and when she returned after a longer than i would of liked wait, with our drinks, we ordered our food.

Nice, quiet, pleasant, well priced and full of flavour food with different menus for breakfast, lunch and later in the day. Opens early so you can have a nice breakfast

Myself & my husband booked a table for last Saturday night at Rioja - amazing food for both starters & mains. Very generous portions, I couldn’t eat all mine! Beautifully presented as well. The restaurant was very quiet which seemed such a shame for a Saturday night. The young girl at the bar was lovely & polite. You definitely need to visit to experience the tasty well presented food. A great find.
