Great food, lovely people and a nice atmosphere. Fantastic coffee, if not the best in town!

Very kind and hardworking staff, beautifully decorated, very cozy but bustling atmosphere, and serving neatly presented quality coffees, food and alcoholic drinks. Would certainly recommend and will be returning again.

Coffee was OK, slightly sour taste. Bathrooms could do with the spruce up. However the decor was fantastic!

I have been twice in 1 week - the ceasar salad is amazing and great portion size. We interacted with 4 different staff members who were all so smiley and seemed genuinely interested in our dining experience and made me feel really welcome with my newborn - i am still trying to navigate the pram and they were so helpful with positioning it whilst we sat down and got the door for us on the way in and out. Will be coming here more often for sure!

Really friendly staff, the coffee was the best I've had in ages, always very busy but still manages a fast service. Seating is comfortable including booths for larger groups.

I had an amazing dining experience at Rock Salt! The food was fantastic, the vibe was great, and the live music was amazing. The service was outstanding, with all the staff being friendly and attentive, especially Steve, he took such great care of us and our children all throughout the evening. If I owned a restaurant, Steve would be the type of person I’d feel so lucky to have - made our night! Highly recommend!

I had my babyshower at Rocksalt on Sunday afternoon. Perfect location, great atmosphere and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful throughout the day/evening. Thanks so much for helping to make it a such a lovely day.

Please advise customers when booking for food cooked from kitchen that the kitchen actually closes at 3pm during the weekdays apart from Friday, this had not been told to us yesterday Tuesday 5th November, we were rushed through, no time to check menu as our booking was for 3pm!

The place is incredibly friendly and cosy, perfect for a relaxed evening. We did have a small issue with one of the beers (it was the end of the barrel—happens everywhere), but the staff were super supportive and quickly offered us a different beer without any fuss. Their service really made our night, and we'll definitely be back!

Came on a relaxed no-plans rainy Sunday, drove from Stockport until we found somewhere we liked the look of. Both mine & my partner's food was beautiful. Can't fault anything. Lovely lively environment in a pretty setting with lots of pretty lighting and fresh flowers in a vase on the table, big tick!

Nice local cafe with good food, drinks and cakes.

We went here for my wife’s birthday. We had a superb lunch of chicken tenders ,feta salad and a cheeseburger which tasted delicious. All washed down with Prosecco and a very nice Sauvignon Blanc. The blueberry muffin with ice cream finished the meal off brilliantly. The waiter was attentive and friendly as were the other staff. Highly recommended. We will be back.

Lovely place. The staff are very warm and welcoming, not being able to do enough for you. Had an iced latte and a slice of cake (why not), both were great. Would highly recommend as both a coffee shop, and a place to have a drink with friends.

We have just had lunch Steak sandwich was good,we weren't asked how we would like it (I assumed they were minute steaks and therefore didn't need to asked, but wife's wasn't done well enough sorted and then fine),front of house staff should be mindful of that conversation can travel to the tables.I would go back nad recommend.

I asked for a beer and the server went out for smoke, then proceeded to eat her lunch, I never got the beer, so went across the Road for a beer and wine. Pity, really good food and comfortable seating.

A really lovely meal this evening at rock salt. We hadn’t booked and they very pretty busy but very accommodating, especially on a bank hol. Food was delicious and staff member was particularly good with the kids, getting down to their level and engaging with them. Much appreciated. Best burgers around, beautifully cooked Which is rare to find in England! Also delicious chicken pie and chicken strips. My only comment would be it would be great to see a little side salad or veggies on the kids food but appreciate this might generate a fair bit of waste. Maybe just an offer of this. Otherwise, fab!!

A gem.of a family run cafe bar. The food is excellentl and good value for money. The staff are really friendly and kids are made a fuss off. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

I took my Mum out for Mother’s Day with my brothers And we all the Rocksalt full breakfast which was very good and good quality the staffs was very welcoming I’ll be coming back again

Rude staff disorganised when not even busy. Waited an hour to be told they had forgotten our food, shame really but need to get more organised especially with lots of staff working

Found when looking for a place for a quick breakfast, very clean, pleasant place, quick service, attentive staff, food was very nice, I had bacon bap and hubby sausage bap, both very enjoyable, coffee was great, only drink black coffee and taste was not too strong. Will make effort to come again 1

if you want to stand for 10 minutes, waiting to be seated as instructed, then ultimately find your own table ask more than twice. If you could see the food menu, ordered some drinks asked for a glass of water to accompany the drink was told it’s there on the bar, in other words to get your own Found a table in the cramped little café bar, then had to go and order and pay at the till quite clearly to make sure they got money for the food that came at different times with dirty knives and forks given in a wooden square thing spoken to in a disrespectful way by the so-called manager for no apparent reason best known to itself ?! the chips were not what we asked for having an ordered sweet potato fries. There were fresh ones mixed with old ones. In my opinion it’s only worth being a coffee shop or a place. If there’s nowhere else to go, I have witnessed other people being spoken to rudely thought I’d give it another, go with my friends But I won’t be trying it again. Sorry to be so blatant about things but try it and see you might feel better than a few people. I know who have frequented the place seems to be a bar for rowdy as long as they spending the money for dining forget it forget it. There are lots of lovely other venues to eat in where people know what hospitality and service to retain customers and have them coming back time after time, but as mentioned previously it’s okay as the last resort if you desperate rant over😁

I visited the cafe this morning ( 31/01/24) to meet up with my friend, who arrived well before me, to do a bit of work on her computer. She witnessed while she sat on a small table near the windows, a group of small kids running around the cafe, a mum sat opposite with a pram next to her, the staff member serving her and other customers was pleasant enough , she wasn’t bothered about the pram the lady had next to her, nor the kids running around the place ( middle aged lady, blonde hair/ pony tail, thin build) I arrived @11am with my 2year old daughter sitting on a bugaboo bee 6 (small pram), after greeting my friend, we suggested moving on to a table of 3, my friend asked politely this particular member of staff, who didn’t respond immediately instead she looked hesitantly at the table and said yes that one! She then looked at me and said can you move the pram outside? I didn’t say anything, my friend then asked if we could have a high chair? The staff member then brought a filthy high chair, I wouldn’t dare put any baby in there . Looked at me again and said, can you put your pushchair outside ? At that point we haven’t even sat down yet, my daughter still on my friend arms, stood up, wondering what is wrong with this staff member attitude, hostile, rude very impatient tone of voice? By that time she must have repeated the same question to me 3 times? Without a reaction from either one of us, we both then realised there’s definitely a problem with the lady attitude and customer service skills. Wevisited this cafe numerous times, we are both professionals and I never experienced such ill mannered customer service ! My friend decided to go and talk to this member of staff who clearly showed a different approach to me specifically as soon as I walked in ! She asked her! Is there any problems ? the staff knew exactly why she was approached but evidently tried to say otherwise she knew the issue was nothing to do with the pram, it was clearly a problem from her side that we could not comprehend ?! I would not use the race card here, as I was wearing a head scarf but my friend wasn’t. I am still puzzled, why was I particularly treated and shown a lack of respect in the first 5 mins of my arrival, where she clearly let the previous customer sat on the same table with a pram, and was ever so pleasant to them??? We decided in the space of 5 mins, to exit the place and go and have a peaceful coffee elsewhere in Heaton moor and we did ! I would like a full explanation, to why this had happened ? why was I singled out ? Why was I presented with filthy baby chair ? Why was I asked to put the pushchair outside where the previous clients weren’t? I was not allowed to be given the name of this particular staff member by the duty manager when I phoned the cafe to take the managers name/ staff name, Hence I had to write her physical descriptions instead, to distinguish her from the rest of well mannered staff members.

I can highly recommend Rocksalt, I am a business owner and have held multiple client meetings here and recently networking events for other business owners. The staff are great, really attentive, polite and accommodating, the food is amazing and all of my clients always comment on this too. Thank you to you and your team.

No menus on the table, seated quickly but then waited for 10 minutes with no menu, which we then had to ask for. Hot chocolate was clearly from a packet given the speed at which it was served and then charged nearly £9 for the privilege, which was a lovely surprise given that we would have had no idea how much the drinks would cost. Will not be returning

My wife and I went for lunch and drinks at Rocksalt a few days ago. We were seated and ordered drinks. Drinks arrived and we waited to order food, after 30 minutes a rude waitress said “we’re not doing food now” and walked off. Very rude avoid!

We call in for a bite to eat now and then. Always excellent food, service and atmosphere.

Goodfor a breakfast or Brunch! Coffee is very good too! The best the big area outside, it is perfect when is sunny! Although in the last few years they change the menu, not as good as before, sometimes when you go with children, after 5pm it seems to bother a bit, as few times I could see but the look of staff or the owner.

Very inhospitable. I only wanted a drink, chose from a limited selection of ales, which wasn't poured out very well and sat at the only available table I could see, a table for four. When I was nearly finished, an officious women came over and said 'Lady, I need the table for customers'. So I left and won't be going in again. It's clearly now a restaurant that only expects to serve food and gives preferential treatment to those customers.

I had brunch with friends here recently. When I arrived I ended up seating myself as 3 members of staff ignored me waiting for ages and I saw our table with our name on it. No-one came with a menu so I queued at the till to ask for one. After my friends arrived, a member of staff came over to imply we couldn't sit there as it was reserved. We said we'd reserved it and ordered food and drinks. A few minutes after were told our order couldn't be put through as it was too busy, but they would try to put it through in a few minutes. Our food finally came for everyone except one friend. When we were checked on to see if everything was okay, we said we were still waiting on a meal. We ended up asking three or four times, and when my friend's food finally arrived, everyone else had completely finished. We were advised that my friend's food had probably gone to someone else. When the bill came we asked if we could pay separately and were told no, not really as it was a faff. I put everything on my card to split out afterwards and was glad I wasn't asked if I wanted to include gratuity as the service was really awful! When I checked the bill, not only was gratuity already added to the bill, they charged for my friend's meal twice, even though she'd barely got it at all! I got a refund for the additional order, but I think it was pretty rubbish they'd charged for hers at all. The food was nice, but the whole experience was so bad we will never be going back and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

soulless and unfriendly staff. Music too loud. will not take orders from table they insisted we go inside to order. could be the owners decision. no improvement since my last visit.

Felt very uncomfortable with staff. Had sit where we were told even though empty. Complained about other customers not spending enoght money. This made the person I was supporting anxious. Then they didn't take cash didn't care that not everyone doesn't have access to debit cards or can't read the signs when entering the building.

This busy café bar on Heaton Moor is a good spot for lunch, plenty to choose from on the food menu with a full bar or coffees available too. Steak sandwich was great.

Lovely space with amazing food. Has a terrace so it's nice to hang out outside when it's good weather.

Well this was the first and last time I even attempt to eat or drink here, my order was taken and I was told drinks and food would be brought over, well 30 minutes later still no drinks went in to see what was happening and everyone was just stood around chatting my order hadn’t even been put through, asked for a full refund and went somewhere who actually want my money and order.

Nice place for a drink and catch up with friends. Didn't have food on this occasion but it was good last time I did.

Very small portions - certainly NOT value for money. Unpleasant and fraught staff including manager. Definitely gone downhill.

Hofmeister Helles was surprisingly good. Served in correct glasses which is attention to detail. Neck Oil and Planet Pale also on offer. Efficient friendly service. Didn't eat so can't comment on food.

Woman who sat us down was rude, ordered iced coffees, had a quarter of my drink left and found a bug inside of it, got the bug out and showed one of the waitresses, she turned round swirling the drink at me and rudely said “it’s abit late now innit” as if i was supposed to know there was a bug in my drink from the start. And paid full price for the drink. Will not be coming back again. Very poor customer service.

Called in on a Sunday morning. Lovley full English breakfast, nice place, friendly staff. But it took over an hour to receive my order. Yes it was busy, clearly you need more staff.

Great place. Questionable staff. Myself, my Wife and my two year old frequent here weekly. We travel from Chorlton as we love the food and general vibe. It's a cool place to relax and everytime we eat we are astounded by the food. However, on two occasions, Ive said that I needed to use the baby changing facilities and one particular member of staff has left me feeling awkward. She asks me each time where I am sitting outside and if I've bought anything. I'm not in Spain and this isn't how we treat people.

Nice place, no one to seat when you enter despite saying wait to be seated, found my own seat. Found my own menu as no one came to give one. Service poor, women a bit standoffish (blonde women) Food lovely, some things on the very small menu not available. But food I ordered was really nice can’t fault it. Went to pay women didn’t tell me what I owed just shoved the contactless machine at me, I paid and said thank you, she didn’t say thank you and walked away. Very strange.

I met my brother and sister for breakfast, we decided on Rocksalt cafe Stockport. We were not disappointed the waitresses were attentive and efficient, the food was just amazing! We all had different things and everything was just perfect, none of us are generally easy pleased so that says volumes! The manageress (Greek lady) was just the icing on the cake she clearly loves her work and she had her eyes on everything, the kitchen, waiting staff, customers, and the contractor outside! She even took then cake wow! I had a fabulous breakfast followed by home made pancakes, fruit, syrup and cream! We will definitely return when we treat ourselves next, thankyou again Sharon Weston Super Mare!

Mother's day Brunch Our food was great, looked good, tasted good! We got the kids some waffle and syrup. It was a cheap option for the kids, however they appear to be straight out of a packet. I was expecting something slightly better All in all though, happy, and I'll be coming again for sure

Food is good, space is nice but there are better places in Heaton Moor. It is quite pricey for what it offers and this is why I have only given it 4 stars.

Staff are polite and friendly (haven't eaten there hence the absence of stars for food)They have a great selection of beers and wines and suitable seating! Highly recommend for a few with friends ! 🍻

There is absolutely no reason for dogs being in here . It’s a small restaurant with outdoor areas for people who insist on bringing them . I own a dog and would never dream of brining one in such a small area .It’s not enjoyable of hygienic to have barking dogs one next to us who had a wind problem . We don’t live in the countryside so absolutely no need for dogs . You need to rethink your dog policy because this could be the downfall of your business .

Visited this morning and the place was rammed for a small cafe they shouldn’t allow dogs there 4 dogs in and dogs were very distressed with the crowds . Selfish owners and a cafe run very badly

I've been a fan of Rock Salt for a good few years now but have been particularly impressed on a couple of recent visits where the team have done an amazing job accommodating a very large party of mum-friends and all their little ones! We were made to feel very welcome despite the inevitable liveliness of our party and thoroughly enjoyed all of our food, which catered to a wide range of tastes too. A really lovely place and one I'd highly recommend for all of your coffee/prosecco/brunch/lunch/cake needs, and a massive plus that it's so child-friendly too 😄👍🏻

Love to visit this little place. Only rating as 4 for food and service cause menu has changed a bit since I last went and busy at lunch. Still great food but portions looked smaller. Great if you book a table for brunch, otherwise can be sat at smaller tables and can feel abit crammed, but overall worth the visit.

First visit here since moving to the area, food well presented, service good and unobtrusive. Enjoyable experience all round. Will be back!

Never had a disappointing experience at Rocksalt. We love coming here for either a midweek coffee or a Friday night out. The staff are always so friendly and you feel really welcomed.

Really disappointed to see large dogs in yesterday when we were in for a nice relaxing breakfast to have them barking as well . There really is no need for dogs to be let inside when you have a nice outdoor area . We certainly won’t be visiting again which is a shame as we have always loved Rocksalt .

Jason and his staff go above and beyond for their customers and their fur babies! You won't find a better hot chocolate - believe me I have tried them all during December, and come January the lighter options will just be as delightful!!
