Rose Garden Chinese Takeaway in Chesterfield

I normally order from a different Take Away, but they are currently closed, so I thought I'd try Peking Palace as I live locally ... I always order Special Chow Mein without onions, so that's what I tried here and it was a real disappointment ... the pork was chunks of tinned ham, I got one prawn, I think there might have been some beef and chicken but I couldn't identify it, however, I did get a few (possibly 4 slithers) of unidentified meat so I'll hazard a guess that was supposed to be chicken and or beef; the noodle were dry & largely tasteless. The Prawn Crackers (free with orders over a set amount) were good - they tasted like prawns and melted in your mouth. My daughter had Salt & Pepper Chips - they had no salt or pepper but they tasted of cinnamon, she couldn't eat them because they were sweet, not savoury. My daughter said the Peking Duck and Mini Spring Rolls were quite nice - in all fairness it did. look pretty good too. To be fair I won't be ordering from Peking Palace again, I could probably do a better job of the chow mein myself & prawn crackers from the supermarket are quite tasty. I will say the delivery driver was lovely, very friendly and jovial.

Absolutely the worst Chinese I ever try can't say eat coz all go to bin. It look disgusting taste terrible can't find words to describe my disappointment

Considering the prices are quite high i was expecting a decent meal. We normally go to winner house at Brimington but thought we would give this ago as we only live 5 mins away. it was awful. the food was really salty and all the sauces were claggy and lumpy. overall there was no taste other than salt. we wont be ordering again.

I ordered a Chinese this evening for me and my partner the food was very cold and wasn’t great at all. Also the chips was over cooked. I wouldn’t ordered from here again as the food was horrible and was cold also

The best Chinese tonight! Can not fault it, Had a few bad ones in the past with it being cold this was pipping hot, beautiful!

This is our new go to Chinese takeaway. The food is excellent, takeaway is delivered on time and the food is always hot. Caters for all diets including vegan, they are happy to make changes to dishes.

Was told 1hr and 40 mins and when arrived 10mins after that it was cold and had to warm it up as everyone was hungry and getting angry as it just took too long to arrive. NEVER AGAIN!! DONT ORDER FROM HERE!!

Really disappointed with this meal, despite really good reviews on JustEat. The rice had never seen a frying pan, plain white and bland!! The salt and pepper chicken was just pieces of batter couldn't see any meat! My advice - avoid and try elsewhere!

First time trying out this Chinese as our usual one is closed, and it’s also the first time my meal had sweet and sour sauce put on it already, which I prefer to put on my self, the chicken skewers & chicken balls were very chewy, and the rice was very plain not much flavour as it had no colour either just pure white. Also our meal had came to around £16 and everywhere else we would have been given free prawn crackers, but we had to pay £1.60 extra for them. They don’t take card either which is really inconvenient. Very disappointed

Lovely takeaway!! Good quality food, and great prices. Just a little cold & half an hour late for delivery but putting those aside it was a nice order. Thanks.

Absolutely disgusting!!!! Turned up after 20 minutes. Food was barely cooked. Sausages were still flesh coloured and mooshy inside! Chicken balls were luke warm. Totally inedible. My food doesnt have to be piping hot. But id atleast like it cooked!! Rang to complain was told id get a fresh meal...... Im still waiting!!! I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN!!!!

Good prices and fairly quick service. Was ready when we got there. Personally I found it a little bit all tasting the same but that could have been I ordered the wrong thing. Would give it ago again.

Had a brilliant takeaway . The food was hot and really tasty. Nothing was too much trouble for them and service was so quick. We also gave them a phone order and they were so quick from taking our order to delivery . Food was good and hot and would definately reccomend them to everyone.

My favourite Chinese. Eaten here for many years and never had a bad one. Food is wonderful staff are lovely and friendly. Food ready quickly when collecting takes a little longer for delivery but not bad. Would recommend, however is take away only.
