Route 66 in Christchurch

good american style cafe..good selection of ice creams,pancakes,etc, maybe its my error but dont expect a proper english breakfast.."flat sausages " were a burger and bacon was thin and streaky...for almost £10 i didnt think it was good value..plus its dog friendly which im not keen on in food establishments

I was in Christchurch Town Centre and fancied a big breakfast but when I Googled ‘Best Breakfast in Christchurch’ nothing I really fancied came up. I started heading for Costa Coffee in Saxon Square when I noticed the Route 66 restaurant was open. I’d never been before but after walking in I was greeted by super friendly staff. The restaurant was empty (which is not normally a good sign) but staff said to sit anywhere, browse the menu and then come to the counter to order. I love American food and this place certainly delivered. I had the triple stacked pancakes with bacon, sausage patty and maple syrup for £9.95. Everything tasted hot and fresh and the food came out about 5 minutes after ordering. It was delicious and filling (I didn’t eat again until supper!) and I would definitely recommend if you like a hearty (if slightly unhealthy) American style breakfast. I will definitely return for breakfast again and will try the lunches too. This place was a bit of a hidden gem, it didn’t come up when I searched online for breakfasts in Christchurch, I mentioned to the staff they need more social media presence to advertise their restaurant!
