Royal Mahal in Wandsworth

Organizamos 3 semanas antes para un grupo de 16. Esto fue para celebrar un 60 cumpleaños. ¡El restaurante tenía 14! Nos colocaron en una fila a lo largo de la ventana que también era el acceso principal para las personas en el restaurante y se agregó una mesa extra. Tuvimos que seguir moviendo mesas para que la gente fuera al baño mientras estábamos encajonados, literalmente. No era aceptable teniendo en cuenta el tiempo desde la reserva. Mirando a su alrededor tenían cabinas más cómodas adecuadas para 16 en lugar de 1 o 2 familias estaban allí. Llevé esto a la atención del gerente de piso que sintió que estaba bien seguir moviendo mesas para acceder. La comida era justa, Sag Aloo era puré y desagradable. No es mi mejor experiencia gastronómica india. Más que decepcionado ya que también era nuestro 60. El lado positivo, el personal era muy agradable.

Busy times, there's a long wait. Their own version of the biryani is somewhat bland. Mango lessi was good but pricey.

I came here last week with my family to have dinner and my family were so happy. The restaurant exceeded their expectations and they enjoyed the delicious food and welcoming atmosphere. I want to thank Mr. Abbas who served us. He is kind, attentive and clearly dedicated to his job. Thanks to all the staff for making our evening so memorable!

Excellent service, lovely food just had their masala fish & chips. I am a regular there, excellent to entertain and for special events like family birthday meals.

It is with sad regret that I am writing this message. I attended royal Mahal on New Year’s Eve, which was totally shambolic. I go out out to eat every new years and I understand that it is normal for it to be busy. However, I did not appreciate the staff working, very rude and dismissive. They seemed to be arguing amongst themselves majority of the time. When putting the food on the table they were sliding things down and not giving no eye contact. You can clearly see that they treat different customers differently, especially ones from there country. The staff are inexperienced and have no idea about customer service. It was already very cold outside and they kept the front door opened, you could see as a few people still had coats on. Sadly before we even finished our food one waiter goes can I get you the bill? I felt like I was being rushed. I would avoid this place during the busy times of year!!!

So well looked after by Jamshed! Great service, always with a smile and each guest treated as individual, despite being fairly busy .

We had a big family booking today and had Jamshir serving us. We come here fairly often especially as big group and they never disappoint!! The food is always up to standard and the service is always amazing, we will of course be back.

Restaurant atmosphere okay but congested. Staff very nice and helpful. However food quality and taste was below standard. Went after reading the reviews but disappointed with food taste.

I went to Royal Mahal - Tooting . The grill was soo good as well as the chicken parda biryani. I am so happy with the service given by the staffs ( ABAS) , the care and we definitely felt welcomed :) . Definitely will revisit another time in the future.

We went there on 25th December-2024, Ayesha served us. She gave us all a very good service. Ambiance was very nice. Food serving was excellent. We really enjoyed the starters that were Gol gappay, Dynamite chicken, small mixed grill, fries and Chapli Kebabs. For mains we ordered Chicken Biryani, Lamb Balti, Chicken Handi, Garlic Naan and Plain naan. Everything was very fresh and hot and then in desserts we ordered Ras malai, Almond kulfi and kinder beuno milk cake. All were on point 👌 Really enjoyed the food. A must recommend desi food place 😋😋😋♥️ Thankyou Ayesha and Royal Mahal staff including Kitchen staff who made really delicious food.

We heard about the mighty biryani nd it's up to the expectations. It was delicious. Our server Aisha did everything she could to make our dinner special. When were taking pictures she even brought the flowing smoke thing to give us a good shot. The best lamb chops I've had in the mixed platter nd tandoori paratha was the best. Then the throw ins were golgappay nd dynamite chicken nd both the presentation nd taste were yummy. In curry we ordered chicken tikka masala and palak paneer nd they were just okay. Nd the i must say their birthday song is hilarious nd they also perform a little for you so we had fun while having food because there's a birthday celebration in every 10 mins. Over all a good experience nd we will definitely comeback.

Beautiful decor, great food and super attentive service… just lacked any atmosphere. Bit of you like good food served well and the chance converse with your fellow diners… it’s a good good choice.

I came for my mums birthday and the hospitality from when we arrived to when we left was great. We were served by Abas who was friendly and very attentive, making sure to be available if needed. For the birthday, they all made it a very special day; brought out cake and sparklers and were all singing together. We loved it and would definitely return!

I went with my family of 7 to Royal Mahal. Experience was so great . Food was so fresh and delicious. Ayesha served us very well . Dynamite prawns was so delicious. Sitting is a bit tight but other than that I recommend this Pakistani restaurant 10/10 .

Very good food, pakoras were amazing but also quite fatty, somebody didn’t let all that fat to drip off. Can’t complain since it was yummy and disappeared in my belly in seconds. Ingredients are fresh, meat is well cooked and melts in my mouth. Was well impressed with Kofte meat: full of flavours and mixed with grounded spices. Their sauces are good too, exactly my level of spiciness and mint sauce brings that cool feeling. Recommend.

Royal Mahal has become my family's favourite place for Halwa Puri on the weekends as it is such good value for money - £2.99 per portion! The chai is great too, and our fantastic server, Saqlain, recommended the pistachio kunefa french toast last time we went - simply incredible, and really unique to find a desi place that does such great western breakfast options too. Highly recommended!!!

I really enjoyed my meal at Royal Mahal. We tried the nihari which my husband devoured. Their lamb biryani had the right amount of spices and flavour. Papri chat was quite nice. Masala fish could've been better

We came here to celebrate my sisters 18th birthday as we wanted something special for her and the staff definitely made her night special. The staff were so attentive and wonderful especially the gentleman, Saqlain. He took care of our table all night, making sure we were satisfied with everything, he genuinely went about and beyond for us. This was our first time visiting and we will definitely be back, the food was amazing, as well as the music and atmosphere!

Went for dinner at very last moment with group of friends the service was excellent and fast one and the food was 9 on the scale of 10 and staff and ambiance was 10 on 10

I came with some friends. Looks nice from outside. Staff were polite and throughout were very good. Unfortunately the food was very disappointing. The handi karahi had hardly any flavour, the mix grill was not full of flavour. The masala fish was nice and the Chapli kebab should not be called Chapli kebab as it felt like a regular kebab. The lassi mango was nice. Unfortunately after spending 80 pounds we went without feeling it was worth the money. We try new places all the time and unfortunately we won't be going here again. We initially wanted to go to another restaurant down the road and the wait was long. Reviews should count on food and service. Service was great but food was not. Both have to be good to come back. Unfortunately only service was good.

I had a great experience in the royal mahal , everything was delicious and the service was amazing by nilesh who served us, I really enjoyed it

The tables were dirty, the toilets were dirty and one was even broken down. The food was decent, they do birthday celebrations quite loud not good if you have anxiety or get shaken easily. Barely able to call waiters to the table, have to get up yourself and go to the counter for anything you need. The glasses to drink from, all fingerprints and smudged and dirty, the 'tap' water tasted like metal. Wouldn't recommend to be honest, but if you want to go somewhere for a quick bite and okay food I guess you could do worse.

Good service, Great food and a nice atmosphere. Only thing that let them down was the masala fish was over fried and some lamb chops were over cooked and therefore chewy.

The customer service is 0 the waiters were soo rude except one lady who was asking for water. Starters were good but main course was soo bad …

Excellent breakfast - soft and freshly fried puris, halwa and chana All for only £2.99 as part of intro offer. Other menu items also good - Pancakes were nice and fluffy Only negative was they didn’t really know their menu that well e.g. no one seemed to know what a Spanish coffee was, but ordered it anyway and it was nice!

The food here always gets the taste buds alive. Top service with a waiter already for you. It can get super busy and of course that means service takes longer but the food is worth the wait.

One of my favorite place for good authentic Pakistani food. Delicious kebabs, lamb and chicken karahi. Lahori falooda is the best dessert here.

Went here to try a breakfast. Really not good enough. All ingredients were poor quality. My partner mentioned it was ‘not good’, and totally ignored! Honestly, enough decent places in tooting to swerve this one. Toilets were filthy as well.
