Rudding Park in Harrogate

Can't comment on rooms as only visited for dinner. Table booked in advance to celebrate my wife's birthday. Nice table in conservatory, attentive staff on arrival and throughout our celebration dinner. Nice choice on menu, portions a little on the spartan side, but nicely presented and tasted nice. Can't fault Ralf our waiter for the night. Disappointed that one of the best voted hotels in the UK and multi award winner doesn't hold a cash float for cash paying customers. No change given

An outstanding experience at Rudding Park, how anyone could rate this place less than 5/5 is beyond me. The staff, location, spa and golf were all exceptional. We have had the best couple of days staying at the hotel. Every single staff member was amazing and couldn’t be more helpful! Personal shout out to Eva on the front desk who went way above and beyond to make sure our stay was so special! A real credit to Rudding park and deserves so much recognition. Same for Poppy in the Spa! Nothing was ever too much trouble! She made us feel so welcome and again nothing was ever too much trouble for her. We will 100% be back to Rudding Park and will be telling all of our friends and family to book a stay and experience here. Thank you so much! Adam & Laura x

What an incredible weekend! The hotel was stunning. The spa was a highlight. Dinner was delicious, with fantastic service from the moment we arrived. What made it truly special, though, was Josh Leigh. He went above and beyond to organize the perfect trip, handling all the details and making sure everything ran smoothly. I can’t recommend this place enough—perfect stay all around!

We stayed here for a wedding and travelled up from London for the occasion, let me tell you, it was worth every minute of the journey, I have never stayed anywhere with staff so welcoming, warm, attentive and full of zest. We’ve been looked after like royalty and been made to feel so welcome and so special. We’ve also ate at the clock tower brasserie when we arrived which was gorgeous- the chocolate bomb for 2 is such a treat. We’ve not even left yet so can’t wait for what else is in store!

Just visited today for champagne afternoon tea wow it was amazing lovely setting and service I work for Volvo in knaresborough and I sold Peter banks a new vehicle to him and is partner last year been meaning to visit since then and wow was it worth the wait we will be back for an overnight stay very soon I will call Peter tomorrow and let him know about my experience personally I did catch a glance of him in the bar but he looked busy so didn’t say hello but thanks for A lovely afternoon 😊

If I could rate this venue higher I would, top customer service, nothing was a problem. Great food and lovely grounds. Attended a wedding and the wedding planner was outstanding!

I recently stayed overnight and overall had a good experience. The spa is extremely clean, and I would highly recommend it. Everyone was extremely nice and professional, especially the girls at the spa and at Horto. However, there was a situation that unfortunately marred our experience. As we were on a budget and had already paid for the package, we politely requested to have the service charge removed at check-out. The lady at the front desk appeared to take extreme offense to this, and her demeanor became rude; she didn’t even look at us for the entire check out process. We noticed that other guests were offered assistance with their bags and were given friendly farewells, but we did not receive the same courtesy. We were simply told that we were checked out without a goodbye or any pleasantries. While we would have happily carried our small bag to the car ourselves, the way we were treated because we opted out of the service charge was disappointing. It left a negative impression on what was otherwise an enjoyable stay. I hope this feedback is helpful, and that future guests can continue to enjoy the wonderful facilities and friendly staff without encountering similar issues.

The hotel, from my personal point of view, is overrated, especially after you have been to another nice hotel with welcome and warmth, this hotel is more posh and superficial. Most of the staff at the reception are very nice and helpful - this is good. However, at breakfast, it doesn’t seem the staff are permanent or well trained. Some of them stand together chatting, or chatting cross the door when the guests pass by. The service was very slow, waited a long time for coffee and tea to be served. Something the waiters have promised - never got a feedback. The dinner was so so, no daily special but the same menu all the time. The cheese burger for kids was very hard to chew, not much flavor in it either. Not recommended to families with younger kids as there is only 1h in the morning and 1h in the afternoon splash time in the indoor pool. It was a bit strange to have people training in lane during the splash time in the pool at the same time. The cleaning service was also very slow. We called 3 times for cleaning. There was no cotton stick or pad, nor body lotion. Very limited stuff. The air condition didn’t work perfectly and thus we had to get the staff over several times. This is overall not money-valued for a 5-star hotel.

I've photographed numerous weddings at Rudding Park, and they never disappoint. It's always well-run, and the food is lovely. The grounds are excellent, and there is plenty of choice for portraits. I have always loved shooting at Rudding.

This is without doubt our favourite spa to visit in the UK. It's absolutely amazing. We did the spa package with an overnight stay, access to the rooftop spa and dinner allowance and it was worth it! The rooftop spa is great with a massive outdoor heated (hot!) pool and various steam/sauna/experience rooms. The rooms are the highest standard (we had an upgrade to ours with a terrace). We are at both clocktower and Horto restaurants and both were excellent (including the breakfast!). And the dinner allowance with the room makes it a no brainer. The service is sublime, all the staff were friendly and helpful and are there to make your trip extra special! We've been here twice now and will certainly be coming again in the near future. Fantastic for families , parks. Walking, animals birds, ducks dogs, brilliant for coffee and snacks for adults and kids, and of course ice cream, 😂

This is my third time visiting but this time I brought my partner from Australia and he agrees that it’s the best place we’ve ever stayed. Sensational facilities and top class customer service. This should be a 5* hotel. Every time I visit home I will be visiting. Thanks team.

We staying at Ruddington Park one night but packed a lot in! Upon arrival, we had checked in. The chap at reception was v jolly. We had lunch at the Clock Tower and then headed for our facials. We were late by 15 minutes due to travel issues but the therapists kindly fitted us in! Post treatment, there were various relaxation rooms, visual, audio, the sleep room and a general relaxation area. Tea was available. We hung out in the sauna next with another friend who had just arrived and headed to the indoor pool for a quick swim before heading back to our rooms to change for dinner. The rooms were adequate and two of us had interconnecting doors which they kindly unlocked!!! We also had a terrace each which was divine!! Dinner at the Clock Tower was fine. We had breakfast here the next day too and spent some time in the outdoor hot tub before we left. A really lovely place!

Absolutely beautiful resort and the customer service, particularly from Richard is absolutely exceptional. We had an amazing stay and I would highly recommend.

Dropped in for lunch and it was definitely worth it! Absolutely delicious food, great service and a lovely place. I would highly recommend for any occasion, including a spur of the moment lunch! 😃

We came for a spa overnight stay to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The staff were (in general) lovely, room was wonderful and the spa was great but the food in the main restaurant was dreadful. We waited an hour and 40 minutes for food which was inedible only to be told that they were busy and the food had to be overcooked for hygiene reasons. This unfortunately marred the entire weekend and at the prices charged was completely unacceptable. Won’t be back, there are plenty of similar places to choose from.

A beautiful hotel and what it offers, staff are so polite and attentative, great efficient service.

Amazing babymoon night away! From the moment of getting our bags out of the car we were greeted by a lovely gentleman who insisted on carrying our luggage to reception. We were early so our room wasn't ready yet but the friendly reception staff said our luggage would be taken to our room ready for when we'd finished in the spa. The spa.. what can I say, second to none! Staff amazing again, the best facilities and felt truly relaxed after our 2 hour rooftop spa experience. We then went to have lunch in Horto in our robes and some of the best food we've had in a long time. By this time our room was ready so the spa called reception to come and collect us to take us to our room. Lovely spacious room with Molton Brown toiletries and the comfiest bed. As part of our package we had an allowance for the Clocktower Restaurant so after getting ready we heading down there for some more amazing food and service. After a well-rested night's sleep we headed down to Clocktower again for breakfast which of course was delicious! We were very impressed by the service in all areas of the hotel and cannot wait to come back. We did pay the additional service charges as felt they were worth every penny as we didn't lift a finger the whole time we were there. Thank you for making it such a memorable experience ☺️

Popped in to book a room for my wife's auntie's birthday and stayed for lunch. Lovely place, helpful staff and I enjoyed the food. Looking forward to the birthday party now

Lovely place and great SPA but not that relaxing, bit go go go feel Downside: Drinks in the afternoon, service was slow and ended up chasing request’s, similar experience at evening meal, had to chase drinks Bar area is odd / not relaxing, no “real” bar area, just sat in a corridor it feels or a “library” type room, which looks / feels more like a afternoon tea place or something you would see at a old people’s home. Upside - struggle Left disappointed for the price.

We returned to Rudding Park to celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary, we had our wedding reception at Rudding Park all those years ago! The welcome and service we received were fabulous. Everyone looked after us so well and we had a wonderful time. We enjoyed an afternoon at the rooftop spa and our meal in the Clock Tower Restaurant was delicious. Thank you to all the attentive and friendly staff, you made our stay a memorable one.

Update: I was asked to email the team with my details, which I did on 31/01/2024, did not hear back, chased on 27/02/2024, still not heard back nearly 2 months since original email. This just adds to the atrocious service. I used to be a regular who would visit multiple times a year and also recommend to friends, family and colleagues. However, my last 2 experiences were both below par, 1 of which was a birthday gift for a friend, it was the treatments that let us down. On my second time where I left quite unhappy on my own, I was advised to leave a review in the survey sent after and I would be contacted by someone, which I did, but did not hear back, it's been months since then. I had hopes to book again since then for my birthday, and also a hen do, but the last 2 experiences and after services have put me off from doing so. I no longer recommend to others and have since advised of alternatives, such as Swinton Estate, and DoubleTree in Harrogate. It used to be a lovely place to visit and my top recommendation for others, I'd even vote for it in Spa Awards, sadly no more.

The customer service was amazing. All those thank you and and an occasional sorry we’re delivered with genuine care. Great how the staff noticed us when we saw the sign for the cinema and stop what he was doing to show us. Lovely touches. The ladybird in the bedroom after the bed was turned down. The luggage delivered and put away. We were here on a work conference. The service, room and good food made it perfect. Thank you

We had the pleasure of hosting our wedding at Rudding Park on 10th February 2024. We are only just coming back down to earth after the most incredible day. The whole events team at Rudding, from Izzy, Amy, Will and Sarah were helpful and attentive throughout the wedding planning process and on the day itself. Rudding was very accommodating the day before our wedding, as we had a rehearsal in their beautiful chapel and then a drinks reception. On the day itself, Rudding pulled off a truly fantastic day, coordinating and entertaining our 170 guests virtually seamlessly. The Russell room for the bride and bridesmaids to get ready in was an excellent space and Jen did a fabulous job with the bride’s hair. The groom and groomsmen thoroughly enjoyed their stay in the Lodges the night before. Our ceremony in the chapel was exceptional, it is such a stunning space and Rudding’s florist Colette decorated it so beautifully, as many of our guests commented. Being able to make use of the chapel with our chosen celebrant Eleanor was the most unique and special part of our day. Amy was so helpful organizing all the bridesmaids and sorting the brides dress for the ceremony. Our drinks reception had delicious cocktails and tasty canapés and the dinner during the reception was equally delicious. Service was excellent, we never had an empty glass. The decoration and set up of the Radcliffe room for our reception was a real showstopper! Service continued late into the evening and all the staff we interacted with were lovely and helpful throughout. The timings of the day were well-coordinated and we hardly noticed the rain as Rudding organized many umbrellas during the fireworks. Our bridal suite was beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in the spa that next day. When we were leaving after the weekend, Peter was incredibly helpful in packing up our car with all our luggage and wedding gifts. If you are thinking of getting married at Rudding Park, absolutely go for it, they made our wedding day so incredibly special and we cannot thank them enough!
