Russell's Traditional Fish & Chips in Redcar and Cleveland

I was having a day out at Redcar and stumbled upon Russells on the sea front. I had Haddock and chips. They were freshly cooked while I waited. The BEST fish and chips I have had for years. The delightful couple who were serving - possibly Mr and Mrs Russell but don't wish to presume - were so friendly and obliging.

Popped in with my family and we had fish chips and mushy peas to share The lady who served us was very cheery and the food was excellent

We've eaten here 2 weeks in a row now! After surprisingly sunny days in September/October lured us to the coast for a walk along the beach. The food is always great quality and delicious, and very friendly service with a smile. There is often a queue at the weekend as it is very popular. We spent £16 for 3 meals - 1 large sausages & chips, 1 fish & chips and 1 fish patty and chips (no drinks as we'd brought our own water bottles). The portions are just the right size, large without being too much to eat, you will be very full afterwards! but an hour or 2 later and you can just squeeze in a Pacittos ice-cream too :-) There are picnic tables right across the road, overlooking the ocean. We always manage to get a seat here although it is often busy. There are more sheltered seating options if the weather is cold and windy. There are also around a dozen bar seats inside the fish & chip shop with counter style eating option if the weather is really bad.
