Ayman

¡Evite a toda costa!

“Rüya” means dream in Turkish it was absolutely dreamy night for us!!! Thank you for the staff looking after us. They were so helpful and kind. We loved the experience.I am a sommelier student in London and I have chosen Rüya for food and wine pairing for the Turkish cuisine. They have got large number of wine selection from Turkey and all around the world. Their food menu is very authentic and they do special menus for special days as well!!! I have picked the Kayra Buzbağ Reserv from 2019 which is the blend of the most famous Turkish grape varieties Öküzgözü & Boğazkere and paired with my fav childhood dishes iclikofte & Adana kebab. Always go with local wine when you eat local food. I definitely recommend Turkish wines or Raki which is well known Turkish alcoholic drink as well. Oh yeah also make sure to end your meal with kunefe dessert and pistachio ice cream!!! Will be definitely back…

I was unable to join my friends inside the restaurant after feeling unwell. They kindly brought me some takeaway and it was delicious. My in-laws moved to central Turkey about six years ago. I have visited many nice restaurants in Turkey because of that. I’m not the right person to comment really as must admit to find the menu a bit similar wherever you go. However I was impressed by the food given to me. King size prawns with the vein removed. Beautiful fresh green beans and I’m told the restaurant is impressive. All in all would be happy to take relatives.

Ruya Restaurant was recommended to us by friends who live in London. We visited as a group of seven. On entering the restaurant we were warmly welcomed by the reception staff and our coats were taken to the cloakroom. The ambience is chic causal, and although it's a restaurant there was a live DJ playing lounge music, giving the dining room a fun and sophisticated feel. I appreciated the view walking past the open busy kitchen, the overall appearance was one of clean efficiency. We were seated by a friendly waiter who offered advice about the dishes. A sommelier advised us regarding the wine and we decided to try a Turkish red from the Marmara region. One thing I would say is that the sommelier really knows his wine! The meal was phenomenal. We started with a variety of mezes, followed by kebabs, a vegetarian dish and several desserts. Everything exceeded our expectations and was presented like edible art. Each dish arrived at the perfect moment, nothing was rushed but neither did we wait for the next dish. The staff were very attentive; clearing empty plates and refilling our wine and raki regularly. Thankfully they were professional and refilled wine glasses at the correct rate, and were not just pouring a larger glass so as not to have to return too quickly. The restaurant has a Mayfair address, but we really felt at home and were welcomed like old friends. Lastly I must give praise to whoever designed the bathrooms, as we spent the remaining portion of the evening reminiscing about past Turkish holidays and Turkish bathhouses! A big thank you to the chef and all the lovely staff for making our evening a truly special one.

We ordered 2 vegetarian full brunch with vegetables like mushroom, spinach, courgette and avocado with poached eggs. Only the egg and the avocado were served. Once we pointed it out that we were waiting for the food the waiter said Of course but after other 30 minutes he was just hiding in the kitchen. So no veggies available. They offered us a croissant instead. The quality of the egg, salmon and coffee is good but it is very poor however not expensive but I would say that with 6 tables maybe the service can be improved. Very nice coffee though

A Cozy Mediterranean Brunch in Wimbledon Village After a delightful 2-mile walk through Wimbledon Village, we stumbled upon this charming spot for a Mediterranean brunch. The cozy ambiance and the no-fuss menu instantly set the tone for a relaxed meal. We ordered the meat shawarma, soup of the day, and Beirut beer. The soup arrived piping hot, paired perfectly with fresh bread, making it an ideal choice for the chilly weather. It warmed us up nicely and prepared us for the rest of our walk. The meat shawarma was flavorful, generously packed with well-seasoned meat, and accompanied by creamy hummus and a fresh salad – a hearty, satisfying combination. The Beirut beer was smooth and mild, rounding off our brunch with a refreshing finish. All in all, a straightforward yet delicious dining experience that provided the perfect fuel for our journey to the Wimbledon Stadium. If you’re looking for good food without any frills, this place is worth a visit!
