What a little find. Arrived as they was cleaning down and closing. Lovely gentleman reopened just for us for which we were very grateful. Bread that we took home was some of the best I think I’ve ever had. Wish I lived nearer.

Beautiful coffee shop directly by the river Brent with plenty of seating inside and outside - very busy in a fantastic place, with waterfront view, close to the Duke of London. They’ve not only great cappuccino and other non-alcoholic drinks, but also a tasty selection of rolls - especially their chicken roll is super yummy - and cakes. On event days they also offer a good looking bbq outdoors, but I’ve not tried that one yet. Nice place to hang out and relax!

Well ... we visited today following the positive reviews. Unfortunately we are disappointed... We get coffee in the plastic cup because they dont have clean cups LOL - we wasnt even informed about that.. no tissues no cutlery..for the money which we paid there is much better places where you can feel like in nice coffee place . We will not back especially we drive specially to this place and we paid for parking locally which cost us around 7£.

We popped down to find out what the fuss was about and became instant converts. No fuss, no frills, just good coffee, good food and excellent service. The location is fun now as the Brentford Project grows around it and is going to be great when the project is finished. We had two sourdough baguettes (well, half baguettes to be accurate) generously filled with high quality Parma ham, little gem lettuce and mustard mayonnaise and can't fault them on any grounds. The raspberry lemonade is a very grown-up soft drink and our espressos were expertly made with good quality beans. We bought a sourdough loaf to take away and it is quite exceptional. What's not to like about a place like this?

I organise a monthly walking group from Kew. 34 of us descended at Rye By The Water on the insistance of two of our walkers who know this cafe and bread shop. It was astonishing. To get there, we walked through an unpleasant industrial estate but.... The restaurant is by the Grand Union Canal in an attractive location with a far more attractive way of approaching it. The staff were incredibly efficient and provided quick service. The coffee was good but the croissants were the best ever. As it was sunny, we lounged in the pleasant outside area. My double espresso and croissant was £4.80 which was great value for the quality We will certainly return there.

Me and my BF we visiting the area & just by chance walked by the Rye. We arrived and were greeted by such lovely people - the food was absolutely incredible. We got fennel salami, homemade sourdough (can’t recommend enough it’s made in house), fresh burrata with capers and olives & hot garlic potatoes. We also had a couple of incredible cocktails! So authentic and delicious. We watched the boats and swans go & soaked up the atmosphere. We are only staying one weekend but are planning to swing by on our way home on Sunday. So great I couldn’t recommend more!

Honestly the pastries will knock your socks off. Crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. And that's before the sourdough bread, which goes excellently with lashings of butter. Worth waiting in the queue!

Reassuringly expensive. You get what you pay for. Good coffee. Good bread. Good pastries with the exception of the almond croissants.

This is by far the best bakery and coffee shop in West London. Forget Gales, tis is where you will get the very best bread and pastries - and the coffee is pretty good too. The sourdough loaf and the croissants deserve special mention, but the piece de resistance is cheese and marmite pastry; it is just amazing. The location is pretty special too down by the canal in Brentford and makes for a really nice towpath walk from Chiswick.

Lovely location, lovely to watch the master-bakers at work. Excellent quality bread and pastries. Expensive, yes, but you're paying for near-perfection.

Lovely sourdough bread and the best croissants ever. During the lockdown they are selling vegetables, cheese, milk, eggs, and Oatly.

Waited for 15 minutes to get into the shop. This bakery had been open for 11/2 hours and only had one large loaf for sale! it was £4 and I was told it was the best bread in London. I don't think so! Ended up buying a Ciabatta roll which was tasty but tough. This is the second time I have been in the cafe, once last summer and on both occasions I have been disappointed so wont be going back. This is a pity because it is my local cafe/ bakery. I was also horrified that they were charging £3.50 for a small tin of sardines! That is a rip off. Prices are all over the top and service very slow. I do not consider this to be a bakery. There is very little choice and always very little volume of bakery items

Brilliant and a god send. The coffee is fantastic. Probably my favourite coffee in London. Rich and almost chicolatey. I’ve tried the sourdough (amazing) and the pastries (exceptional) and a sandwich from the lunch menu (roasted vegetables with tahini and delicious). Lovely atmosphere, great hidden away location and friendly service. Feels very welcoming. I’m a bit addicted already.

By day a bakery and by night a lovely restaurant with a curated but delicious menu. Wonderful staff who accommodated my friend’s requirements beautifully.

I really love it at Rye By The Water, it has the perfect combination of a wonderful low-key atmosphere, friendly service and delicious, different food that is all made from scratch... It makes all the difference! The coffee is also very good! My only feedback to the team would be that I went for breakfast with my family and we weren't able to have either poached or scrambled egg over fried, which was the only egg option on the menu. Whilst I understand that 'menu changing' can be really annoying as a cook, actually my Dad said he may choose to go elsewhere where he is able to have a poached egg! It may sound completely petty from the customer point of view, but I also sort of feel it isn't that hard to cook a poached and/or scrambled egg either. This small issue does not diminish Rye By The Water and I will definitely be back!

Small, but with a lovely selection of cakes which always taste fresh and delicious. The price for tea and coffee is a but cheaper than the big franchises too

We had a late lunch when it was not too busy so did not get to experience the ambiance fully, but the food and service were excellent

Very friendly staff and cozy vibes! Their coffee could be better & stronger tasting, for example their flat whites aren’t the proper size.

There is only a few words to describe this place, and one of them is stunning. The food is so authentic and spiceful. Not a lot can beat the Indian flavour of this place. We never have a problem with this place and we have been here about 50 times. There has been non stop changes with the taste of the food. The tandoori vegetable momos are along the favourites. This places is brillant for us as we are vegetarians. We ordered Tandoori Vegetable Momos, Veg Tikka, Veg Tikka Masala, Chilli Paneer and Dhal Makani. Which was excellent. Although if you come to the pub it is a bit of a rowdy place with wild kids and wild people.
