In town to do a few jobs and decided to treat myself to a quiet breakfast. Found this little gem of a cafe and it was an absolute win from start to finish. Super friendly staff, lovely surroundings and a great sounding menu. A great tasting menu as well If my traditional breakfast was anything to go by. Top quality produce and all cooked really well. This is definitely on my list to return to now…well worth a visit

My partner and I was looking for somewhere to get some food when we stumbled upon this little cafe. The place just re-opwned as Riley's and its so cute. We were greeted by the waitress/owner with a very warm smile and so much possitivity. We had a traditional breakfast and a vegetarian breakfast and they were absolutely delicious. It was out of this world. Interesting point to note is that they source everything locally; we know this because as soon as we placed our orders, a young chap left to get our fresh food from the market which was being cooked as we endulged in our freshly made hot chocolates. Overall, the service was 10/10. The view along with the subtle rain was so romantic 😍 ah I love chester and the food and the quality is to die for. I definitely recommend that everyone who has a chance must visit this quaint and cute cafe. Would definitely be coming back there soon.

Had the small English breakfast this morning and a fresh fruit juice. Beautiful fresh food and sausage was the best I’ve had in a while. Plenty for me, along with doorstop toast, left me feeling full up and ready for a days shopping and sightseeing! Definitely would return if back in Chester

Having just finished, I would put a picture on however empty boxes would not give you a clear picture of what we had, so we ordered afternoon tea to take our, and wow there was sooo much food, mixed sandwiches, sausage rolls, quiche, cakes, scones with clotted cream and jam, separates so you can do either Cornish or Devonian way. All of this food was home made, the cakes are to die for, moist fluffy flavoursome, the lemon one is my favourite but all equally amazing, the proprietor Faye was a delight to deal with, happy to accommodate anything even my million questions on line through their face book page, nothing seemed to much trouble, so a little gem amongst all the chain store cafes in chester, if your on northgate street where the rows start look up, you will see a cute little sign green and white, go in say hello and have some real home made tasty food in a clean and fresh atmosphere or even sit on the historic row and people watch down below, either way this cafe is a must when you visit Chester not only is it Great Faye is a champion for using as much local produce and local business as humanly possible. What a star, I FOR ONE WILL BE BACK.

Laura's effervescent charisma has been a huge loss to Handbridge since Meltdown's closure, but will no doubt be a giant gain to whatever comes next for the (former) Toastie Queen. I say former, as there's one final chance to taste her magic creations before the apron is hung up for good at fellow Chester indie scene star That Beer Place on Foregate St tomorrow, which I wouldn't miss for all the cheese in Cheshire...

Friendly local bar serving fine wine local beers, ciders and ales and guest beers and ales from around the U.K. excellent gin selection and Whiskeys too. Quiz night on Tuesday! Great for meeting friends and used often by cycling groups as they pass through! Opened in July/August 2022 and has served the community well. Dog friendly and children too. Recent addition is some Cheshire farm ice cream which is a favourite for the children during the hot weather. Well worth popping in for a pint of three and for the wine drinkers there is a good selection of fine wines.

We were due to stop here in our campervan overnight (EHU available with a 3 pin adaptor) but got flooded in at the previous site at New Years! So as the landlord was so lovely with us on the phone, we decided to at least call in on our way home and have lunch instead! The food was fabulous, very large portions and the owners are as lovely as they are on the phone!! There is so much going on here - live music, Burns night at the end of the month, folk events, car boots weather permitting and books and board games inhouse to borrow - this place is a little gem and well worth a visit! Dogs are not just tolerated but actively welcomed with spare doggy blankets and a hamper full of doggy treats to purchase at really reasonable prices! We will most definitely be back to this lovely place and bring as many friends as we can, this establishment deserves to do well!

Waiter excellent. Food better. One of the most flavoursome breakfasts I’ve ever had. Cortado very good. Would be nice to sit outside (if weather was nicer).
