The worst ever, ages wait for rubbish

Frequently try to come here for my out of home English breakfast as it always delivers something truly spectacular for something I would consider budget with the price. The staff are friendly and the cooks in the back know how to cook a great fry up. The quality of the produce is decent too and it always comes out super quick. Best supermarket breakfast is Sainsbury’s without a doubt. Only thing I wish was on the menu was black pudding. Other than that an amazing breakfast cafe experience. 9/10 Ps - already buttering the bread is something I have strongly promoted for a long time to save on the hassle when you get your meal. Sainsbury’s has been the only place to accommodate this and that for me is superior attention to detail which is a great niche to have. Will come back many times to follow! 😄👌

Felt compelled to write a review on the service and food we had at Sainsbury's Monks Cross today. I have to say what a disappointment. The cafe was filthy. There was spilled food on the floor. The tray trollies were full, there were dirty plates and cups all over the tables. The food was barely edible. We had toasted sandwiches and a bowl of chips. Goodness knows what the five staff were doing, the service wasn't very good at all. Come on Sainsbury's get your act together, this is hospitality. Sort this cafe out, the atmosphere is awful, the furniture is dated, it's dirty. Your staff need to feel valued, they need training, you really need to up your game. I won't be back

Bitter coffee, breakfast: stuck together bacon, watery mushroom, over cooked sausage, cold toast and uncooked tomato. Cafe has that butlins feel with dirty windows and old furniture.

Este café es crónicamente escaso de personal, y se nota. Largas colas para pedir la comida, luego largas esperas para conseguirla. El personal hace todo lo posible, pero se les hace aún más difícil cuando los comensales perezosos no despejan sus mesas. No me impresionó lo de la ronda negra (pasa, arándano, ¿quién sabe? ), que estaba pegada a mis panini. No es la primera vez que esto sucede. Claramente, no ha habido limpieza entre el brindis de diferentes pedidos. Las repisas de las ventanas no parecen haberse desempolvado y han acumulado una gran cantidad de insectos muertos.

A disgrace, an hour wait for a poor breakfast

Sat over an hour waiting for 3 breakfasts. Came in at 10:30 they'd stopped serving breakfast by the time ours came out. They brought 2 out and said we'd need to wait for the 3rd as they'd now ran out of beans. Wasn't just us multiple people waiting over an hour for food. Food was mediocre at best. No forewarning about the wait no apology.

Desgraciado servicio ha estado esperando una hora desde que pedí un desayuno. La administración necesita revisar el asqueroso nivel de servicio. Varios clientes se quejan del largo tiempo de espera para la comida. Llegó medio cocinado después de una hora, No volveré a usar este lugar.

Solo esperé 1 hora para 2 desayunos ingleses. En una mañana de domingo muy tranquila. Sin disculpas por el tiempo de espera. No regresará.

They obviously don't read these reviews. Neither do they respond to complaints. Suffice to say we had dreadful service and average food. Won't be going again.

30 minutes to prepare a toasted sandwich and jacket potato. Not the first time we have had to wait an unreasonable length of time but it will be the last.

We ordered 2 chicken burger & chips, The was so poorly prepared no chicken burger 2 strips of chicken placed on cold bread buns even colder lettuce, coleslaw, bbq sauce and French fries some cooked some not. Altogether it was inedible. The cutlery was not clean or the table had not been wiped properly., it seemed under stagged

Great food and reasonably priced will be back.

Took 40 minutes to cook a jacket potato with no forewarning or apology. Won't be bringing my kids back in a hurry

Clean and tidy. Staff friendly and chatty. Food can very quickly was hot and tasted great. Cost inexpensive and great value. Cafe on 1st floor all level with lift access and toilets.

Poor quality food thrown onto the plate. Three recent visits. First visit the order was wrong, second visit they forgot to hand our order into the kitchen. Today's visit just poor. Sat in a quiet cafe with screaming howling kitchen staff echoing around the cafe. Worth the drive to Tesco's at Clifton moor. Far superior worth the extra travel

The worst meal I have ever eaten! Dirty cutlery, chips that had been kept warm for hours and a completely undercooked toasted sandwich. Neither me or my daughter will ever eat here again

This place is gradually getting worse. Now there is no choice of soups (today it's tomato or nothing) and no longer a choice of rolls (white or nothing). Oh, and "let me make the next person's lunch before I make your drink". It's as if the company don't actually want to provide cafe services but are forced to do the minimum necessary (it looks like a large staff canteen). I don't come here often and I should come here less.

First time in to Sainsbury’s Cafe Monks Cross whilst waiting for the car to have its MOT and Service over the road at Ford. Friendly staff on arrival, ordered the All Day Breakfast which was hot and delicious, no complaints at all along with the latte I had with it. Restaurant itself was clean and tidy and lots of seat/table availability. Would come back and recommend to others. Thanks a lot

All the food was preprepped and stale. Was much nicer here before the lockdown!

we used to visit often, this was the first time since it has reopened after lockdown and standards have dropped considerably. some new staff on that did not know what food was available to order but did check. ordered a cooked breakfast which was burnt on one side and only just cooked on the other, I left most of it. doubt we will eat here again unless I get a pre packed sandwich. such a shame as it used to be a decent place.

I have been here twice now for lunch. Got both my kids the sandwich kids meal. Asked them to peel the apples as my kids won’t eat the skin also a choking hazard (my kids are 1 and 2) and apparently they are two busy and to chose something else. My two only like apples out of the fruit section! The lady on the tills was apologetic but it was coming from the kitchen staff!

I certainly wouldn't call it good for children, been to 2 very large shops in last 2 weeks, can't even get a bottle warmed, I understand you have industrial microwaves, but get with it sainsburys and use a small space for a domestic one, to warm food and bottles, you sell them!

Friendly staff, cheap food and my three year old loves it!!
