Sakushi in Sheffield

Atrocious experience. Ordered on delivery. Saying they delivered it to some lady in a 32 yo man. Refusing to issue refund as they delivered. To the wrong person!!!!!

The price is quite reasonable, but the portion is really big, especially their gunkan sushi, which is very large, especially the salmon sushi, which is very delicious. In addition, the store does not allow take-out drinks, so you need to pay attention if you go there.

Ordered through Deliveroo. Order was accepted by the restaurant. It was supposed to be an estimate of 35 minutes to have it delivered. After hour and half, never got any notification that it's on its way. Tried to call the restaurant several times, no answer. Deliveroo tried to contact them, no answer. After two hours of no information, we had to cancel the order. 👎

We have been coming to Sakushi for many years as the sushi has always been great. However tonight the sushi was disappointing, the consistency and taste of the rice was not right, the rice was too sticky and tasted like cardboard. The salmon nigiri had thick pieces of salmon on them, and makis had way too much mayonnaise, nothing was authentic. Sadly we won't be returning.

Ideal if you have remodelled your bathroom and you want to spend hours on the toilet to admire the work or to spot errors of the contractor. I was sick for 2 days, me and 2 other friends. Never again

I had the pleasure of dining at Sakushi, Sheffield, I must say it was a lasting impression.the salmon avocado is so worth it and tasted fantastic.The menu offers a variety of authentic flavours, making it a fantastic spot for anyone who appreciates Japanese cuisine.The ambience is quaint, I would rather prefer to pay for the quality of food than a grand ambiance. Overall a great experience, looking forward to visit again.

Really enjoyed it. Food superb with (Korean chicken starter and the duck futomaki probably my favourites). Very attentive staff, swift service and smiles all around. I've only marked them down for atmosphere because it was quiet, but we went at an unusual time (5pm mid week). One criticism; the steak nigiri. I'm used to this being a very rare piece of steak, seared around the edges but very red inside. The one I had here was more like a slice of packet roast beef from a supermarket! However as I said it's one dish and everything else was great...will definitely go again!

The food was outstanding, however the service and lack of atmosphere let it down. We were a large group, yet organised, and they added an extra dish to our bill then argued us into submission. We weren't going to die in a ditch over 9 quid, however it left a bad taste 😒

Yesterday I ordered sushi first time from Sakushi , the food was really amazing specially the sushi’s (salmon box) , it was bit expensive but really worth it.

By far the most disgusting and disappointing sushi I have had in a while, would not even serve it to my dog. They don't even make the rice right.

A lovely place for some delicious food. The team were amazing and the food was perfect. A perfect place for anyone visiting Sheffield.

The main ingredient of sushi/maki is rice. The rice had an appearance and consistency more similar to congee. Maybe that's why there were more staff than patrons on a weekend evening.

Good food and good size portion for the price! Recommend!

Very small maki, didn't know they did it that small and the sticky rice was like chewing play dough. Will not come again.

Probably one of the most below average sushi I have had in a while. High rice to sushi ratio - and the fish doesn't really taste that fresh. I ordered a sushi box and tobiko gunkan - I was not impressed. Has nothing to do with some of the other offering Sheffield has in terms of sushi.

One of best Japanese restaurants in the UK. I went with my family and thoroughly enjoyed the dinner. Both our kids are very picky eaters but we were pleasantly surprised when they enjoyed the meso soup and veg gayoza. The spring roll was out of the world and the kinko udan was excellent. Great ambience and friendly staff. Truly world class.

Amazing food that comes in good and great portion enough to make you full! Amazing service as well made it very welcoming and had a great time overall!!

The aura around this place is unmatched,nothing comes close. Every crevice of food is mouthwatering and shouldn’t be overlooked. Music was played to perfection and matched the vibrant atmosphere of the place. This IS one to remember

Our first time at Sakushi today. We were wowed by the food and service, can’t wait to come back!

The portion sizes for the sushi and starters are very small for the price however the mains are quite the opposite, taste wise it’s a good place to go eat halal food!!

Ordered delivery which was quick but chicken was burnt and dry, rice was soggy and food was damaged. Couldn’t eat it. Ordered kids noodles for my daughter which is literally plain noodles (no sauce, nothing) and bits of battered chicken. She wouldn’t eat it and I don’t blame her. Nearly £50 for 2 meals and a complete waste of money.

The service was really welcoming and polite, but the food is really overpriced. It was fresh, but nothing spectacular. Would definitely recommend going somewhere else for this price.

‘The biggest mistake is go to this restaurant for lunch’. Such an insult to Japanese food.

El sakushi es el mejor para el pollo katsu kare. Mi novia y yo hemos estado aquí hace mucho tiempo y volvimos por un poco de sushi y kare el sábado pasado. Había una fiesta de cumpleaños y los niños estaban allí. El restaurante tenía un gerente de un solo tipo de servicio. A pesar de que el restaurante estaba lleno, recibimos nuestra comida a tiempo y estaba delicioso. Volveré de nuevo.

Unpalatable. . The sushi is not fresh. The rice is too sticky, which may not be appreciated by those who like Japanese food.

It is authentic, the staff is friendly. Really enjoyable.

We tried Sakushi tonight for delivery. The food itself tasted ok, and it arrived in good time, but the reason for the low rating was that we felt quite cheated out of our money paid. We both ordered salmon maki and what we got was mostly rice, with a sliver of salmon. In half of the slices, you could barely see any fish, it was rice and a *hint* of salmon. I’ve never had sushi with so little fish. Total was £46 for 2 maki (again, mostly rice and a bit of fish), and 2 other sushi rolls, and 1 gyoza appetiser to share. Was not worth the price, sadly.

I am a regular customer at Sakushi and I can't recommend it highly enough! The katsu curries are absolutely fantastic – generous portion sizes and top-notch quality every time. I've recently started exploring other items on the menu, and I have been equally impressed. The variety and flavors are exceptional. The service is also outstanding. The waitress took the time to clearly explain all the dishes and made excellent recommendations based on my preferences. It’s always a pleasure dining here, and I am already looking forward to my next visit!

Went for an early Monday lunch, it was (not surprisingly) quiet. The manager was super-friendly and we were made very welcome. The options were explained to us and we both went for the “3 conveyor belt bowls and a soft drink for £9.99” option, upgrading to a beer (Kirin Ichiban) & wine for just £1 extra. It was delicious, very fresh and zingy flavours. Really enjoyable and saved a packet. If I worked in Sheffield city centre I’d come here often! Well done!

Great experience last week, surprised I was the only customer as the food was served fast and tasted excellent. Server was attentive and made the experience great - will visit for a lunchtime pokebowl again soon!

When I saw the rating was 4.3, I gave it a try. It turned out to be mediocre, expensive and not very tasty. The taste is totally disappointing. I’m very disappointed😵‍💫

Amazing as usual - decided to try some of the cold sushi mix boxes this time rather than the usual hot food that I order, and even they were top notch - not only the taste but the presentation of the food in the box too. The driver was very polite and friendly. Always good to have sushi with a variety of world drinks to choose from, including alcohol.

I feel like I was ripped off by a sushi restaurant whose owner even wasn’t Japanese. So please never trust a restaurant like that.

I got a text saying the food had been dispatched, it arrived 25 minutes after the app said it would. Resulting in the food being cold

the rice was completely unseasoned and bland, and some grains of rice in my sushi were uncooked and hard. the Korean chicken and gyoza were great, the sushi was honestly really gross as a result of what I mentioned above.

Delivery was late, food was luke warm. I have a sign on the front door and put on the delivery notes to come to the back. Driver came to the front and by the time I got around was getting back in his car. Had to shout after him to get my food. Actual food was delicious and buy again based on the quality, probably not for delivery though. Such a shame it wasn’t hot!

The best Japanese restaurant in town.

Wow - what a fantastic restaurant and apparently the first Japanese sushi restaurant in the City - I would guess it it probably number 1 for quality and range of foods. Loved the amount of vegan on the menu which meant no hassle for me and my partner and I then just totally indulged with a range of foods from the carousel and table service. All the food was so fresh and the serving team were great - even though the place was quite busy.

My fiancè and I absolutely loved our dinner at Sakushi! Great selection of food and sushi. The vegetarian menu is separate and clearly labeled. We will be stopping by again!

Needless to say that the food is always brilliant from here - and they are one of the only places near me who deliver alcohol.

Ramen was missing ingredients and prawns were not cleaned- could see the bad stuff Bao buns were good

I tried the tempura aubergine. It was very good. Light, crispy batter not too thick with a steamed slice of aubergine in the centre. I have been to Tokyo and eaten in a 2 Michelin Star restaurant that focused only on tempura. I was surprised to find that I enjoyed the version of tempura aubergine in Sheffield more !

The order was delayed twice resulting in cold food which was sub par at best, the delivery driver didn't come to the door he just sat in his car on his phone and made us come out to him. The experience as a whole was abysmal and for the price point of the food I expect A LOT better. I don't think I will be ordering from this establishment again. Absolutely shocking and utterly appalling.

The staff are really friendly, I came with my boyfriend and we ended up staying 30 minutes after closing time. As we came quite late there wasn’t much on the conveyor belt so we decide to order beef udon and pork Raman. These were nice, the beef udon >>>> pork Raman. We also go a pikajuice mocktail and a PJ martini mocktail. They okay but tasted like melted ice lollies and you didn’t even get much from the PJ martini. It needs to be diluted as it was way too sweet. We didn’t pick up anything from the conveyor belt as we realised it’s way too easy to pick up what you see and the price of your meal will build without being able to comprehend the amount you spend. Other than that it was a nice meal and the staff was accommodating to our allergy.

Value for money non-existent. “Sushi” with bland fish, rice so cooked it’s cement, all of that has excessive prices. I absolutely do not recommend.

wow!!… this was incredible. I ordered two different bao buns and the rice teriyaki chicken don, which is always my go to at wagamamas but this was much more flavourful. The katsu chicken bao bun was so juice, not a dry bit of chicken in sight. Will 100% re order from here and recommend to others!! Amazing service in every way!!

Ok we only have 13 of 14 items we've ordered. As the food was far from we have expected it's har to say wat was missing. I think It was California rolls. £137 order really disappointed. Really....

The Ramen was kinda bland and does not have a genuine rich broth that you would see cooked for hours. The Korean Chicken was full of Sesame oil and soi sauce. The only great think was the plain fried chicken pieces that was in the ramen. Totally not worth £26. First time and last time

We had booked a table, when we arrived we asked for a booth, we were told no as it takes too long to clean, even though we said we could wait we were told no. Then 5 minutes later a couple arrived that had not booked and they were given a booth. The service was ok although it was a little slow as she was mainly on her own and busy. The sushi was very plain and tasteless. We ordered some food from the kitchen, the poke bowl was good but the gyoza was greasy and inedible and the squid was also too greasy Overall the sushi was low quality and over priced

The service was friendly and the waiter did a good job. We ordered duck donburi. It is advertised as shredded duck. It was large chunks of overcooked fried duck with lots of fat on. The vegetables served were minimal. The rice was overcooked sushi rice which was very hard to eat. A simple wagamamas would have been better and cheaper. It wasn’t as advertised, and it was objectively badly prepared food. The gyozas were ok.

Thanks to the lovely guy who was serving me he was nice and welcoming 🙏🏻 I had kinoko Udon ramen in a large bowl 🍜 for the first time so i have nothing to compare it with but I enjoyed it 🍲 The interior of the place is just not the vibe I enjoy all black and red.

Asked for Dr Pepper but was given Ginger Beer instead. And delivery was late. Otherwise food quality is excellent. The best Japanese food I’ve eaten in the UK so far - and this is feedback from someone who visits fine dining restaurants in and around London regularly.
