We did not eat, but food is an option, good atmosphere, and plenty of choice on the wine front.

Have a bottle or have 2, corkage is a wonderful thing! So much choice to choose from, and the staff on the floor can help you with this. And if you order something by the glass, you can always use the enomatic machines. Extremely addictive. Now that you drunk, have one of their charcuterie boards. Also a winner when it comes to wine bars

Love this place, they’ve got a lot of selection of wines whether to have in or takeaway! There’s also a wine vending machine which is really fun to play with (great to bring people here for the first time). Only rated the food at a 3 as there are just some small snacky bits + charcuterie boards available but that’s not expected for a wine bar anyway! Really great place and a definitely go to for me :)

I can't comment on the food overall as we stopped off for wine but I have had the olives before and they're excellent! We did go down the route of getting a card from the waiter, this has a cash balance put on it an then you can use this to sample the wines in the downstairs part. I recommend!

We popped into Salut one night without a reservation. The place was pulsating. They kindly found us a high top table. They feature a lovely selection of beer, cocktails & wine. Their wine selection is where they truly shine. Our server was helpful, extremely pleasant and eager to ensure that the guest was satisfied. We enjoyed a couple drinks in their comfortable surroundings. We did not sample but I must admit, their cheese & charcuterie boards looked absolutely divine. Salut is a pleasant pleasant boite for a drink or a plate of nibbles.

My partner nipped in to Salut wines this evening on his way home from work to grab us a bottle of red. The gentleman who served him was unbelievably rude, my partner never comments on people and I was surprised to hear him say it, so that means he must’ve been extremely rude for him to even pass comment. He did buy a bottle but with zero help from the rude staff member. Will not be returning there after that experience. Work on training your staff for better customer service etiquette.

Great local spot with cosy atmosphere and loads of solid wine options, with food pairing options. Relaxed, friendly service and stocked bottle shop. Nice to self serve, but system of loading a payment card, rather than just paying with your own, is a bit clunky.

Just a great place to come for a chat - nice ambience and not up itself for a wine bar. Great selection of wines and the ones we had were delicious (not that we're experts or anything). They do a self service thing that we're definitely going to try next time we come. The staff handed out more hugs than I've ever seen so there's a definite warmth and friendliness that has people coming back. We didn't try the food but, stalking other tables, it looked good and we're up for some snacks too, the next time we come. There, I've spoiled the ending but, yes, we're coming again and would definitely recommend. Salut!

I went here for the first time on September 7th. The vibe was nice and decor good. But I got sick after visiting.

Bought my friend a gift card and she had such a good selection of wine and cheeses she went onto buy a gift card for another friend of hers.

Didn't have the food but the wine, vibe and service is great! Seems like such an eclectic collection of wines to explore. Perfect place to chill on a wet Sunday afternoon!

I got sick after visiting this place! Great atmosphere and wines but staff checking up too much to a point where it’s anxiety inducing, don’t think it’s necessary to ask every 10 minutes if I need another drink or snack. Also a bit uncomfortable to be approached and looked over at constantly.

I’ve been here a good few times and I’m always blown away by the service, atmosphere and wine. Recently I went with my friend for a catch up and we tried the orange wine, fantastic! The perfect place to catch up. Servers are so attentive and friendly.

What an amazing wine bar. We loved getting the wines ourselves and having the choice of sizes, even being able to have taster measures. Really good variety of wines available. Food options looked great but we didn't eat on this occasion. Really nice vibe and friendly staff too. Highly recommend

Wine bar and wine shop in Central Manchester. Visited at around 5pm on Friday so it was busy with an after work crowd...but the manager seated us in 5 mins even though we hadn't booked. I was originally there to buy some rose wines to take away and the ones recommended by the manager were really good. We did decide to have a glass of wine and a charcuterie/cheese board. This where things disappointed a little. The wine arrived very promptly but it took nearly 30 mins for the food to arrive...maybe too long considering nothing was bring cooked! We had 3 different charcuterie and 2 cheeses...which came with a few slices of focaccia bread, crackers, fruit chutney, cornichons and a few grapes. It was nice...but not amazing...and maybe a bit on the toppy side at £25. There was also no butter or olive oil for the bread...which annoyed me 😂

The bouncer was lovely, but the staff seemed a bit busy and uninterested in volunteering guidance. The glasses were only 175ml, which seems inappropriately large for a summer day serving of a vinho verde as it ruins the point of a chilled glass of wine to hold in one's hand. The wine list also seems small unless you wish to order by the bottle. If you come as a larger group with consistent tastes, it's probably fine.

My absolute favourites wind bar in Manchester. Does lovely food accompaniment that pairs well with wine. A lovely selection from around the world with the option to sample several from the machines.

First time visiting and will definitely be back!! Lovely chilled atmosphere with friendly helpful staff!! Weren’t sure how much food to order and great advice given…the charcuterie/cheese boards are amazing!! Also fancied trying the orange wine and the staff member advised a taste before we ordered which was helpful as not what expected! The vending machine option was novel and great for those unsure about committing to a full glass/bottle such as ourselves! 10/10 all round!!!

Great wine, rubbish baby policy. As a restaurateur myself I can’t believe the archaic rules in this supposed progressive city. Tried to buy a bottle of wine to enjoy in the rare Mancunian sun with my diamond 6 month old baby to be told the little Renée is not welcome. Used a licensing rule that I’m not sure is true. Why are yappy dogs allowed in this city but babies, the future of our society are forbidden. You have lost a loyal high spending customer Salut.

Salut Wines is a corner wine bar on Cooper Street, Manchester. Very centrally located if you’re in the city. The mood is hip. Vibrant. Urban. We were met upon entering Salut with a smile and nod from Morven. A very good sign. It’s Saturday night. The place was packed but we secured a table for two. Server Aida was warm and friendly. We selected a bottle of Italian Barbera D’Asti from the shelves that were stocked from ceiling to floor. We were looking for a wine bar that had some style and we found it!

Found this great bar 3 weeks ago & loved it, told my friends about it & we called in today. Only fault was... they hadn't replenished the empy wine bottles in the vending machines. Sadly half the wines we wanted were at the end of the bottle or ran out😔 If staff can rotate on filling up??

This is a very pleasant place for relaxed drinks and nibbles. We visited after a meal elsewhere and enjoyed sampling the wines on offer in the dispensing machine. You can order wine here by the bottle, by the glass or using their dispensing machine in amounts as small as 50mL - ideal if you want a personalised mini-tasting session. If you are using the dispenser, they give you a card which logs how much of each wine you dispense, and you pay for what you have drunk at the end. The wines on offer were good but none really wowed me and there were a couple of empty bottles in the dispenser which we couldn't therefore try. We didn't try the snack boards - maybe next time!

Haven't tried the food. Perfect place for a date or a casual, classy evening out. Staff are lovely and service has always been fast. We also didn't realise they had closed and the staff allowed us to stay in and finish our drinks which was nice of them. Haven't ever spent too much here because I've only had maximum 2 glasses but could definitely build up a hefty bill; you could easily get carried away!

Huge selection of wines either by the glass, bottle or the wine vending machine. The honey & chilli cashews are a great bar snack and the charcuterie boards complement the wines nicely. Pleasant atmosphere and good service. Would 100% recommend.

Perfect for a date or post work drink so calm and with an ever changing array of wines to choose and vending machines of wine for samples when you don't know which bottle to buy.

We went here on Saturday. Andy was brilliant. He kept an eye on our table and made sure we had all we needed. Andy was friendly and attentive. Excellent service.

Had a lovely evening here with some really nices wines and helpful and accurate descriptions. Had some food too, well presented and tasted great. Staff were friendly and attentive. Felt very nice and relaxed atmosphere too. Great for if you don't want a full on meal but just somewhere to enjoy someone's company and have a little bite to eat. Edit: been here multiple times since my last review and it remains a top class place to relax and converse with friends and enjoy the best wine (without breaking the bank)

Really enjoyed spending a few hours here. If my Champagne had been properly chilled - why is it SO difficult - it woukd have been 5*.

Our booking was at 3:30 in the afternoon and we were super excited to try this for my 26th. We are still sat here and we were happy until 5 minutes ago. We were met at the door where we had explained we had booked etc. she told us to choose one of the tables that was in front of us. We did and were pleased with our two top table that overlooked the rest of the bar. However 15 minutes into our booking with wine in hand and conversation flowing we were asked to move for another booking!! Had we been told before hand we would not have sat at the table. Extremely annoyed by this as the waitress said they have another booking for this table, where is our table that we booked? They get two stars for having a wine we have not seen since we were down south in the Cotswolds and that is the only reason. Shocking floor management from two people with years of hospitality experience. We finished our wines and have just left

Favourite wine bar in Manchester - friendly staff, well priced selection and good location to head on to central restaurants.

Never visited here before and what a great experience! We hadn't booked but the friendly staff quickly seated us. Good choice of wines, we had a couple of carafes with some small plates and bar snacks which were all delicious. Will definitely return.

Salut hosted our pre-wedding drinks and they couldn’t have been more amazing; Bob made the planning process painless, the drinks, food and service on the night were brilliant and our guests had an amazing time. Visited yesterday afternoon and it was surprisingly busy. They sell glasses by the glass again with the purchase of a special card or you can just buy a bottle or carafe of wine. Update, Dec 2023, really enjoyable evening, the staff were knowledge and we had a great evening here with bottles of wine and charcuterie board.

We stumbled upon this place and decided to pop in for a drink. We were quickly greeted and taken to a table upstairs. The place was warm and inviting - just what was needed on a cold, damp winter evening. Service was good, and the champagne hit the spot! In fact it was so good, we decided to head back the following evening. Unfortunately, on Saturday evening, the service was slightly slower. We had to ask to order drinks, and we had to chase them up once ordered. We also had to request the bill on a couple of occasions. However, this was noted, and the waiter kindly deducted the olives and cashews (both exceptionally tasty) from our bill - a lovely and very appreciated gesture. I would definitely go back, and next time, I'd sample a charcuterie board, as the ones being served to surrounding tables looked very tasty. Shout out to the very friendly security guard on the door, too! He was lovely and friendly, taking time to speak to us on both evenings.

I haven't had a drink in Salut Wines, but it looks lovely. I have purchased several bottles there over a number of trips to Manchester. Great place.

I'd wanted to visit for a long time and finally the stars aligned. I'm so annoyed i hadn't been sooner. Plenty of wines and beers to choose from, by the bottle, glass or even by these fancy machines in the wall (we didn't try these). Staff were super knowledgeable and recommended wines based on our descriptions. 100% will be back

We've been to Salut several times and been impressed. Not the case yesterday - it was a service disaster. After our initial (table service) order took 20 minutes to arrive, that was the end of any level of service. We wanted to order another round but waited 20 minutes , politely trying to get attention and eventually went to the bar, ordered and was told drinks would be with us shortly. 25 minutes later and nothing so my husband politely enquired and was told service would be a couple of minutes. Another 15 minutes later and we decided vote with our feet. As we paid at the bar, staff didn't even acknowledge (let alone apologise) this meant we were cancelling our second order - which by then we'd waited over 40 minutes for. Salut is expensive but its usually worth it - sadly not any longer.

I normally love coming here, but I’m not sure what has happened to the service. I ordered one glass of wine and explained that I would like to order some food afterwards. It was relatively quiet. After I had finished the glass of wine I waited for 10 minutes without being served. When I went to the counter to order another glass of wine and food, I was told that the kitchen was closed. Poor form I’m sorry guys, I hope this feedback helps to improve the service for others to come.

Super nice staff, nice atmosphere for students to study in

Had such a great time at Salut! Not a huge wine fan so ordered the lemoncello spritzer which was fantastic. Also tried the Elderflower but the lemoncello had the edge. We were served by Morven who was really awesome, very friendly and welcoming. We ordered some meats and cheeses, was very impressed with the presentation and taste. Thick cuts of prosciutto, delicious balsamic onions, fresh bread. Perfect nibbles while we drank. One of the best charcuterie plates I’ve tasted! Love the look of this wine bar, they have all the wines on display so you can browse and choose what you fancy. They have table service which was great, staff very knowledgeable and fun to chat with! Can’t wait to go back!

Been to three wine tasting events now and always leave learning so much . The staff are incredible helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. There is a great selection of food to nibble on to accompany their ever expanding wine collection (400+) from around the world. It's great for a cozy date night or a cheeky afternoon treat to yourself. 10/10

Salut bills itself as the ‘best wine shop in Manchester’, for good reason. A place dedicated to great wine and tasty nibbles that’s in the heart of the city. As well as serving by the bottle, they run a Corivan dispensing system where you can try great wines by the glass. Top tip: the outdoors seating on the Fountain St side catches the early evening sun on a nice day. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, nice vibes. Try it.

Excellent wine bar to come and try multiple different wines. We used the wine machines and ordered a meat and cheese board. Service was amazing, as was the food and wine. We will be back!

Really nice wine bar, they have a variety of good wines from all over the world. I was happy to see that they even had wines from my country. I also tried the orange wine they have it was great! The staff were lovely, would go back there again !

Andy is single-handedly the best server in manchester. Me and my friends have been coming here for the past year and he remembers our favourite wine everytime. So attentive and so vigilant. Couldn’t recommend this place enough!

An amazing wine bar, with a fantastic (and friendly). The prices are more than reasonable for some truly excellent wines. (Although it's missing my favourite wine, Two Paddocks) which I can find elsewhere in the area. Their food menu, which has recently been updated is great for grazing on, with some truly scrumptious options. The cheese and meat boards are a must when we go. Their main draw however is their 'vending machine' of wine, which offers different glasses of wine weekly. An ingenious idea which keeps bringing us back. They have regular events which we've yet to go to, but have heard how fun they are. Overall, its a fantastic place, well worth a visit and to become anyone's local wine bar to go on a semi regular basis.

A great alternative to beer!! Lovely place and a very kind service. winery with a selection of wines from Italy to France and South Africa. we drank an Italian rosé, good and fresh. Recommended!!

Visited twice, both times asked if I had paid the bill when leaving, and also waited 45 mins to be served. Great selection, shame about the staff.

Staff are lovely, place is great for a chilled drink and bite to eat. The cheese bored was perfect! Reasonable prices too. We loved it here, thanks guys!

I had a horrible experience. I came here with my sister to celebrate her visit with a glass of wine and the female manager was so rude I decided to leave before ordering. Iv passed this place often and wondered why it was quiet. Now I know.

If looking to sample wines via cool vending machines and know/ want to know a bit more behind the wine you are sampling, then I would recommend Salut Wines over Provence in Spinningfields. Vending machines offer full descriptions of wine and staff is proactive to help you too.

The wine on offer tonight was absolutely delicious. The staff are very friendly, genuine and attentive. This is by far the best place in Manchester to sample wine, eat some delicious cheese and wine and unwind 🍷🧀

Came in tonight for wine as I’ve been so many times before and you charged me £6 for some ham for my dog!!! We spent over £30 on wine and have numerous times before but you charged my little sausage dog £6 for some ham??? Are you being serious? Please respond as genuinely won’t come back after tonight

It was fantastic!! I went to Salut for the wine tasting. The experience was amazing, and the connoisseurs were very informative and happy to answer any questions about the wine. A superb variety of wines and champagnes were available for us to taste. I will most surely return for another wine tasting and would highly recommend it for a chill night out. The only thing I would suggest is adding a few more nibbles to go with the vines.

Gotta say it could be a really brilliant place but it looks like we had the pleasure of the B team on Sunday 27th. The service was ok but had the staff informed us that we could have wine off the shelf rather than from a mediocre house selection, the bill may have been a little larger. Also it was only as we were leaving we found the wine vending machines, again the bill could've been larger. Had the cheese not been served at Baltic temperatures, again the bill may have been larger. It's a shame we felt let down in this way as I said, it could be brilliant.

After driving past this venue for 2 years we finally was able to visit after work. I feel I have missed out by leaving it so long. The staff was amazing. The wine selection is amazing. We shall certainly see you again soon. Thanks guys. X
