Stopped here today en route home from Cambridge and so glad we did. The place was buzzing and virtually full but despite being told food could be a 20 min wait we were served very quickly . Food was hot and tasty and staff were superb . Highly recommended.

Went for breakfast on New Year’s Day with my family. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The food came quick despite it being an extreme busy morning. Staff were honestly really great and couldn’t do enough! Food was tastey and piping hot!

Sticky Korean chicken bowl nothing like when we had it last month. Dry no sticky sauce just chicken southern fried and normal with a bbq sauce squeezed on and a tiny amount. The rice should have been coconut. It was plain. It was asked and told that’s the rice we have. Table next to us the same issue dry dish not like before. Disappointing and the image and description not accurate so should be improved or removed.

Location great for train station. Online drink ordering. Table service. Can get very busy at weekends. Very cheap drinks. Had to ask a few times for an area to be cleared to sit down hence 4*. Will be going again and would recommend to all. I didn't feel there was much access for wheelchairs.

My friend and I went for lunch on Monday 23rd December..as always the.food was good . However one of staff who might have the manager on duty was extremely an older lady with blonde hair .unprofessional..and rude ...when my friend asked for something off the menu all she said was no there wasn't any in a very short manner ...my friend thought it was disgusting to talk to someone like this ...she also asked for our drinks to be delivered to our table as she has to use a walking stick ...and the lady was extremely rude and short to a member of staff ...the lady in question has been like this on several occasions now ..

Double whisky and bag of peanuts while I waited for the next southbound train...whiled away the time nicely.!!

I have worked in Huntingdon at least one week per month for the past 10 years and have stayed at a wide range of hotels and establishments. In the past year I have stayed at Sandford House and to be honest I can't fault it. The rooms are great and the staff are extremely helpful and having a Wetherspoon pub 10 yards away is a bonus. Overall, excellent value for money.

Good experience, there's always something to improve but staff came across as genuine. We were there just for a family breakfast and a catch up. Four generations sat around the table.

Extremely good value breakfast. Staff are lovely. Only visited the pub so can't comment on the hotel.

They have recently changed the coffee machines which now produce barely warm coffee that is far too strong. In addition the hot chocolate is no longer available from the machine, only in sachets that must be requested from a staff member. Will be looking for a new place for an early breakfast.

Called in for a coffee a lovely pub lovely decor very reasonably priced highly recommended.

best Whetherspoon so far, lovely place to stay room was in perfect condition, and the pub... old post office combined with old chapel like building, and between them italianlike place with hanging flowers and small tables, old fireplace in the middle and plenty of space around

Bar staff want you to die of thirst waiting for a drink so they don’t have to serve you.

Stayed for one night in hotel and ate in attached pub on a couple of occasions. As mentioned in other reviews no parking is available directly for the hotel, however there is a drop off point and staff have info available about a CCTV monitored cheap car pack a 5 minute walk away. Rooms are basic but clean and given the reasonable prices are perfectly adequate. Staff we found are a mixture of helpful and welcoming to disinterested and Petty, one appearing to enjoy reprimanding one of our party for vaping in an outdoor area which had no signs up (and not indicating where they could go) before turning back to chat to his friends at a nearby table. Food was as expected for a wetherspoons, reasonably priced and of reasonable quality. If needing to stay somewhere in the area it is worth using.

Perfect place to enjoy pitchers of Pimm's with friends who are travelling around Europe. Looking forward to returning soon. Our American friends enjoyed a late afternoon snack of chips and mushy peas 😜

This place is really good! I stayed for a few nights in the hotel and used the pub during my stay. It was awesome. I only assume the management is really good because the place is clean, the staff are excellent and the food was great. From the moment I arrived I was well taken care of, check in was easy. Every meal I had was great and the pub team were polite and attentive. At 6:45am, just before the pub opened for breakfast, the place was full of people cleaning, tidying and preparing for the day ahead. There was even a lady outside cleaning the pavement and digging out weeds that had grown at the side of the road! The hotel room was really nice, clean and comfortable.

The place is massive and a lot of choices where to sit, which is good... but they keep burning those chicken wings which I really like. Overall is a nice place

Great pub ,food hot and beer cold,free coffee refills. Nice outside area,sat sunning ourselves. Very large inside ,bar is in old chapel.

The Sandford House is a good wetherspoons. It is smaller than a lot of wetherspoons i have been to and has a Cosy feel to it. There is a small cosy gallery accessed by a very narrow steep staircase. The staff are very friendly and attentive, there was an excellent choice of beers lager and cider including cask conditioned hand-pulled real ales at very cheap prices. The beers we sampled were in excellent condition. The food was good, the fish and chips perfectly cooked and the gormet burger was good and very filling. There is a nice outside seating area behind the pub in a courtyard next to the hotel.

Typical weatherspoons fayre. You know what you are getting, Friendly staff reasonably priced food, quick service.

Food could have been warmer, also because we were sitting next to where the food is plated, we notice that it can sit there waiting going cold to be picked up to go to the table. Could be served quicker. Otherwise, we enjoyed the freedom breakfast even though the food was warm but not hot. Seating chairs could be cleaner, most covered in food splatters gone black in the fabric, shame as it let's the customer satisfaction to be dragged down, also seems to be the norm across the whole of England as we travel extensively and use weatherspoons alot, maybe we should change venues, it's a thought.

I often go in and have a good experience but when the food is not edible and you complain politely they don’t want to know ! In fact they walk away whilst you are still talking !

Despite being one of the busiest places I regularly eat at, they've never got my order wrong. The food is always hot, drinks cold, prices great. Good choice for eating solo or with friends.

Top quality Spoons - just what you want and expect from them. It's in a beautiful building that dissipates noise really quite well too, and there's more than ample seating. They weren't the quickest ever to serve, but effortlessly corrected an ordering error where I got the table numbers the wrong way around!

Excellent place for a decent lunch for price.

Fantastic atmosphere detailing the history of the building which is very well thought out and nicely finished. The food was good, exactly what you'd expect from a Whetherspoon's and the service was with a smile and a quick turnaround. Would definitely recommend.

Good prices, nice atmosphere with historical roots. However, I am not a fan of ordering and paying in an app. Would have liked to pay in cash.

Manners go along way! I understand you might be busy but don’t take that out on your customers. Majority of the younger staff are great and eager to please. The food is great considering how cheap it is. The place is always very tidy. The beer garden lets it down. Much better since Covid but it needs remodelling. Not child friendly. Toilets are always clean. The security staff almost look for confrontation on a regular basis. Overall your standard Wetherspoons. Cheap beer, cheap food.

Me and my friends thought that we had ordered another drink to which we went to the bar to ask if we had and were met by the rudest staff members with an awful attitude when all i asked was if we had ordered another drink as it had been 30 minutes since the first 2 had originally came after apologising for the confusion and went to leave the staff member at the bar responded with "maybe actually add the drink to your order next time" so unbelievably rude for no reason when we were nothing but polite to them just asking to find out whether we had actually ordered a drink or not.

We are regular customers and have used the same table since it opened great management team and staff 👍💖

Lovely pub food was excellent,I had a large Mixed Grill. After working in the Pub trade for many years,the waiting staff were like robot's. No enjoy your food or After eating it was everything alright, otherwise I had a pleasant couple of hrs.

Visited the Huntingdon Wetherspoon many times, unfortunately the last few visits being ones not to remember, senior management seem extremely hostile to anyone that raises a complaint or concern, or even dares to question anything , this hostility seems to be rubbing off on the lower management too, customer service is well below what you would expect from a company like Wetherspoon. If I go again I’ll just use the app to limit interaction with the obnoxious, rude pub management. On a plus, I’ve never had an issue with the food and floor staff seem attentive, the management could learn a thing or two from them.

Did not have any food. The place was packed on sat 100224. Good selection of beers. Managed to get a seat,as I was travelling solo.

As Spoons go this is one of the nicest. Group of 9 if us called in for breakfast on a Friday morning. Food was served quickly by friendly helpful staff. Weirdly, some if the nicest pub toilets I've been in!

The Sandford House is much better than JD Wetherspoon in St Ives. You don't get a blast of cold air when people walk in and out of the restaurant.

Ordered a pint and a Curry. The beer was fine but the curry was absolutely freezing cold and not even warm. I sent it back and it was replaced with a hot one. But it should not happen...

The place is clean, the food is average and good, the service is polite, good value for money, the atmosphere is good, the restaurant is worth visiting

Not sure what I expected to be fair but for approximately 100 pound for the night I got just what a Premier Inn would offer for less than half the price,there was no parking facilities.My son and daughter in law picked me up from the station and on trying to check in they were told that they weren’t allowed inside the building or allowed to enter my room and had to wait outside unless it was raining as check in person said that they themselves had a heart and would allow them inside the very tiny check in area,wish I could say I was so grateful for the sentiment,can I just add that prior to checking in I had to phone for someone to come to reception area as not just I but two other parties were ringing reception bell to enter hotel with no one operating the area,someone had to come from bar area in a separate building,not impressed.There were many cancellations with train services from London to Huntingdon on the day I travelled due to strike action,I had before seen revised train operations contacted hotel to see if I could check in earlier as from looking on LNER train app I would have to get an early morning train service,I was visiting my son and his wife with newborn and didn’t want to put them out with rushing around early morning to accommodate me,I got a response approximately 12 hours later saying the earliest I could check in was 1300hrs instead of 1400hrs at a cost of 20 pounds,not sure I was too impressed about that either,I could go on with the dissatisfaction with service I received with certain bar staff that evening but at this point I’m far too tired to even find the words,this was rated as a fabulous place to stay,perhaps I’ve been too spoilt in life but as a nurse struggling to make ends meet I think I’ve been rather fair in my comments,very disappointed ☹️

Busy and quite loud but in a nice way, people laughing and chatting and generally having a good time. Food was good, hot and tasty and quickly served. Price is very affordable, 2 main meals and 2 drinks £20. Good value

We went to Weather Spoon's for an evening meal, the food was very cheap and you got a drink included in the order. All of this is done on the app at the table. The food was Ok for the cost and I think you would be at push to find anywhere with food and a drink for the price they charge

Was accompanied by a disabled friend who uses a mobility scooter, and crutches to walk. On entering we both went directly to the left side of the bar where the lager taps are. We were told to move, impolitely as we wouldn't get served there, ..no compassion or regard was displayed to my disabled friend, the tall male (manager?) male, was rude, obnoxious, arrogant, and showed no regard whatsoever towards disabled people. Avoid st all costs if disabled, or simply just because they obviously discriminate against disabilities without even knowing.

All I can say us Harry Potter sinks in the lady's toilets are worth a visit. The sinks of myth and legend

Ordered breakfast but it took so long we had to cancel and ask for a refund after nearly an hour. Unfortunate but the staff were very helpful and friendly and arranged the refund without any fuss

Don't bother going there the meal was total rubbish chef needs to brush up on how to cook steak properly, three items missing from menu by the time staff replaced same meal was stone cold, third visit like this. Tell chef kill the beast before serving this rubbish. Moo blood running all over plate. Staff could not care less. I WONT BE COMING BACK NEITHER WILL SEVERAL FRIENDS ALL SAY THE SAME. GOURMET STEAK I THINK NOT. RUBBISH, SHOOT THE CHEF.i was a regular customer not any more.
