Friendly and comfortable, very child friendly. 10 in our party, guy who waited table friendly but not so knowledgeable. One meal returned as new potatoes hard as Rock! Another meal food wasn't very hot!

We were here for a family birthday, the table was large enough for the 12 of us. The waitress was very friendly and took our orders for food and drinks within a few minutes of us all arriving. The food was great and the choice of drinks was great too and everyone got what they wanted. Lovely atmosphere and the place was very busy with only a couple of tables empty when we left. The car park round the back was a good size too with plenty of space.

While there were some enjoyable aspects of the meal, there were also several issues that left us disappointed. To start, we waited over an hour for our starters and a further 45 minutes for our mains. When we asked about the delay, we were told it was due to a large party, but it would have been helpful to have been informed of this at the beginning of our visit. Regarding the food: The lamb kofta starters and halloumi were delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed them. However, we ordered one gluten-free prawn cocktail, and there was confusion when it arrived as the staff wasn’t sure if it was gluten-free. We then had to wait another 20 minutes for a missing prawn cocktail, which unfortunately arrived almost frozen. While we appreciate that this was removed from the bill, it was disappointing nonetheless. For the mains, the macaroni cheese was excessively oily, and both the burgers were burnt, which detracted from the overall experience. While I understand that the kitchen may have been under pressure due to the large party, the quality of the food and the length of the delays fell short of expectations. I do appreciate the gesture of removing the problematic prawn cocktail from the bill, and the starters were a highlight of the meal.

We booked for Christmas Day, as for the first time ever we didnt want to cook !, The high quality of food and Service that the Sarsen Stones produced, just everything, far exceeded expectations. Well done to all involved in providing us with the perfect Christmas Day ! We will be definitely booking again next year.

We only live around the corner and visit the pub often for food and drinks, and chose to spend Christmas day there this year. Everything was perfect and the staff were brilliant. Thank you for making our Christmas day a great one!

Having heard good things I was really looking forward to our Christmas breakfast, however it really did not live upto expectations. Service was slow and took a long time to come. Our children's breakfast was brought out first being told ours wouldn't be long. Our children finished there's before ours arrived leaving them bored. 2 vegetarian breakfasts then came out with bacon on. This for me is a big deal and they need to do better. When the replacement vegetarian breakfasts came out everyone else had nearly finished and the breakfast was cold and bland. For the love of God please swap the vegetarian sausages for quorn ones or ones with some quality to them. They were awful and looked like something that comes out and not something you eat. In addition to this when the lady came other to take the children to see santa. As pleasant as she was. She grabbed my nieces hand and walked her over completely blanking my son. This is unacceptable and she should focus on all children at the table. It just wasn't a nice experience overall and I wouldn't recommend.

Love the food choices, the staff are always so friendly and attentive and it has a lovely ambience. They even remember what I like to drink and eat. (Elderflower and apple spritz and Chorizo and chicken kebab) Great customer service. 👍😀

Arrived on time and were greeted at the door. We were immediately taken to our table drinks were served and our order was taken. The food very tasty and filling. We asked for the bill and that came quickly but they hadn't taken the voucher discount off, this was quickly rectified we then left and was given a nice goodbye from the staff

Just came back from our Xmas lunch. Waited 1 hour for our starter. Main Xmas dinner arrived. Yorkshire pudding was burnt, pigs in blanket burnt, stuffing burnt. Not enough gravy. Staff member as if we needed more we said yes, that took over 10 minutes to arrive. Dinner nearly finished before that arrived. Staff were scarse although very busy. Left no management available to address our issues.

Was a last minute decision to go out to eat. Booked on-line easily and when we got there although it was busy due to Christmas parties we were seated in the bar area which was ok. Cameron was great and looked after us and made sure everything was ok.

Deserves zero stars.The food was absolutely awful, all the meat tasted rotten. The staff were rude and abrupt. Several other customers before us had complained about the meat but it was still on the menu. Would definitely not recommend to friends/family and will not be going back.

The staff were brilliant from booking to pre order checking to serving up our meal. This was the first time I have hosted a business lunch for my clients and they all loved it thanks to the lovely table layout, great staff and tasty food. I will be booking again for future events

Booked online in a hurry, missed closed Monday and Tuesday. Booking system stupidly allowed me to book, confirmed my booking by email. Received a feedback email on my visit. Really disappointing all on a computer programme, no customer care at all. Doesn't make me want to visit when they are open and to be fair a quick peek through the window didn't enhance that thought.

Good food, friendly atmosphere, attentive staff

We were a large group, and the staff made us all welcome and were very attentive and friendly. The food was lovely, and it all arrived together so we weren't kept waiting. Staff looked after us very well. A great evening. We will be back. Would highly recommend.

It was very busy but staff kept us informed throughout our visit. We visited with friends and was able to enjoy more time with them while waiting for the food. Again, staff let us know what was happening and offered complimentary drinks to apologise. It really wasn’t needed as we enjoyed our visit and really didn’t mind waiting.

The staff were very professional and attentive. Our waiter Jo was great at making sure we had everything and checked in a couple of times but wasn't over bearing, absolutely great service.

We went there for a dinner, had two starters and two dinners with some drinks. We didn’t pay that much which was a nice surprise! Decorations are lovely inside, nice and festive! Service was excellent, Mandy was very nice, helpful and made us feel welcome. We’ll definitely be back!

We ate at Sarsen Stones on Fri 8th October and agreed with a waitress that we wanted to sit at Table No.21 on our visit on Fri 15th October @19:00. She updated the computer to reflect that. We arrived promptly at 19:00 on 15th and were told that we were now on Table 35! We ordered 2x Camembert to share between the 4 of us. This took about 45mins to arrive!! Our main meal then took another hour to arrive. The Fish in the Fish & chips that I ordered was swimming in oil. The only way I could eat it was to remove all the batter but I must say the Fish was really meaty and there was plenty of it. We left pretty much as we finished our main meal ie at 21:30 that's 2.5hrs for a starter & mains!!! The building was pretty busy but with bookings you must know how busy you are going to be and should staff up accordingly.

Always great service received at Sarsen Stones. The staff are fantastic, friendly and always greet you with a smile. Food choice always good and you know whatever you choose it is going to be delicious. Good value too. Love Sarsen Stones it's our local go to for a decent meal when I can't be bothered to cook, or with friends or family.

Visited for a funeral gathering. The catered food was very nice, especially the sandwiches, with a only a few things not of the same standard. The setting and atmosphere was also pleseant, and the bar staff were friendly, accommodating and efficient.

First time going in a few years for a birthday meal. 8 people, and the only meals that were half ok were the 2 children’s meals. One Steak was so grizzly couldn’t eat it. two had chicken tikka masala both were luke warm and not great. One had hunters chicken, the chicken was still pink, this meal was taken off the bill. Service was really slow, and restaurant wasn’t overly busy.

They ruined my birthday celebration, we booked a table for four for 19:00, once seated we got a menu, ordered food and drinks, the drinks arrived. However over an hour later there was still no food, when we asked why, we were told another 15-20 minutes, to which my husband replied forget the food just bring the bill for the drinks. The manager then came and his only response was sorry and handed us a bill for £38.40 for the drinks, no reason as to why we were not served any food, his custom care skills were nonexistent. The lady that seated us joked when she took our order that she’d forgotten the next tables deserts, but assured us she was on top of our order, that must have been another joke from her. We certainly were not laughing and won’t be returning. The service is the worst we have ever experienced.

I arranged a work re-union for 20 people, Carly in particular was really helpful in arranging buffet options and setting aside a small area. All topped off by the pub being really well done and super friendly and helpful staff all around. Food was excellent. Would definitely recommend and go again.

First class lunch with great service really enjoyed this first visit.

Visited for the first time and wow! We had the most amazing Sunday roast! It all tasted really fresh, good portion sizes. I had the trio of roasts where you get a thick slice of turkey, pork and beef. Impressed it came with crackling. The Yorkshire pudding was so light. Peas, mange tout, carrot, parsnip, green beans and braised red cabbage, so plenty of veg. Gravy was lovely, could've done with a bit more though. Oh and stuffing. Every bit of it was delicious. We tried the sides to share too which was cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets. Both also delicious! Only thing I'd change is I'd have it a bit hotter. It wasn't cold, but it wasn't hot either. Service was great and we didn't wait long. And the decor in there is really nice. Will definitely be back!

Staff were truly amazing, kind, and welcoming, our food and drinks came relatively quickly, considering we were a table of 10! Prices are very reasonable for generous portion sizes, and food is always tasty every time we come! The restaurant itself is very sanitary and an overall lovely atmosphere, bonus of activities to entertain the kids!

Went there as part of our day out and wow, indoor/outdoor seating with beautiful indoor decor! Fancy private looking table for two or something bigger? Whole place clean and tidy with surprisingly a lot of space to actually move around! Food itself? Delicious, served almost like an art and for a decent price! Reasonable selection of starters, mains as well as few puddings. Definitely recommend!

It's a pleasure to spend time at the Sarsen Stones. The atmosphere and decor is relaxing and the staff are very welcoming. They are careful to make sure that food and drinks are what the customer wants. Having recently visited with a friend who has severe food allergies, I was impressed that that was the first question asked. I have eaten there with friends and family many times over the last year and will continue to do so.

I ordered the ribeye, medium well. In a word it was awful! I must assume it was force cooked from frozen, as I'm not sure how you can grill a steak to be so rubbery and incredibly tough! Wife had Americano steak cooked similar and over a third left on the plate, rubbery or too tough. I have not had steak cooked that badly, even force cooked frozen. There is no way I'll go back!

We booked for 5 of us and had a table with plenty of room. Mandy was our waitress and she could not of been more lovely and helpful. She checked we were ok and if we needed anything. We were very well looked after. The food was tasty and arrived in good time. Enjoyable lunch and will be back again soon.

The food we received was good quality and a good portion. We were disappointed that Yorkshire puddings were not available with our roast at time of service - which was not explained to us. On inquiry we were told they had run out. We then asked 20 mins later if a new batch was ready and were told none were available - only to see them served to another table 3 minutes later. Generally there seem to be quantity control issues as by 3 pm other tables were being told all roasts had run out

Very disappointed with our visit today. We arrived for lunch, 12:30. It wasn't overly busy. We were still waiting for our food at 1:20. 50 minutes ..... far too long when you have a little one and a 10 yr old. When the food eventually arrived it was just warm, although the plates were boiling, even the little ones plate :(. Not the best visit today sadly !

Nice pub. Good food . Reasonable prices. Chef cooked my steak perctly. Not the chefs failure that the cuts are not great ,not very flavoursome. But that is definitely a supply and not a kitchen problem. Service with lots of smiles and friendliness. Was relaxed atmosphere. Would go back and definitely recommend. Loads of disabled access.

Good food, friendly staff, and there's a relatively fancy (but nonetheless good-quality) pub quiz every Monday evening.

Went for Quiz night. It's not easy for me to find a decaf coffee that tastes good, but theirs was excellent! We didn't eat a meal, but did have a Sundae which was really good. The quiz was a lot of fun, but very difficult!

We have been before but it looks they have changed hands. Service was good. Love the new intro of water. Menu did not have prices of soft drinks. However, food was bad and small for the price it charged. Fish n chips fish was over fried so dried. Calamari smell was not good. Chips were thrown but as there were so little, it looked non appealing. Unfortunately, our experience has put us off.

We waited a fair while for our main courses to srrive,but to be fair the place was really busy. The Waitress was nice,and after that the service was good.
