Seafood Fish & Chips in North Dorset

A delightful little fish and chip shop with excellent sausages and large portions. The staff were very friendly and even gave us a small portion of chips on the house while we waited! We left with a smile

This place is very clean very friendly and very good cod and the chips are great size large feeds the family of 4 and not lieing there is still chips left at the end highly recomended and top tip if u fancy being a bit naughty try the battered mars bar oh my was a naughty little treat 10/10

They gave me a few chips to eat whilst I waited, showed me which fish was which and even gave 2 extra small fishes to go with them. And I asked for a small chips which he said was 1 scoop however he was kind enough to give me 2. My grandmother owned a fish and chip shop and she said it was very nice and fresh

Friendly staff when we walked in especially Zena 😊 bright and clean ordered our food and given some chips to nibble on while we waited cash only which is refreshing and the food was very good and generous portions

Although it has been taken over by a franchise, the new staff are so nice. Food is good, price not changed much from the last owners. All good so far.

Ordered online and there was quite a delay. More worryingly, both the fish and the chips were dry and overcooked. Hopefully this a blip, I will try once more as they have always been excellent. Popped back, the fish was cooked fresh but unfortunately it was still dry along with the chips ☹️

Ordered direct for collection. It was very busy and our food wasn’t ready when it stated but unsurprising for a Friday night. Food was all hot, we ordered a variety of things between us and the portions were HUGE! Definitely good value for money, it all tasted very fresh, especially the fish. Kids were very pleased with their sweets in the kids boxes. Will definitely have again in the future.

I popped in to get my daughter a treat for dinner and got her a childs meal , it came with a drink and some sweets too , all in a lovely childrens meal box . We where also given some complimentary chips , those and the childrens meal went down a storm and we will visit again ! Lovely people with a friendly smile , was cash only but natwest is only opposite them 👍

We pre-ordered online and it was ready within 15 minutes. Staff were really polite and friendly, really reasonably priced and tasted lovely!

The new owners are lovely and the quality of the food has improved massively since they took over. I had haddock last week which was the best haddock I'd had for a very long time and the pineapple fritters are to die for. The chips are really very good too and while you wait they give you a few chips to keep you going. I would say it's possibly the best chippy in the area now.

Ordered and paid online, chose a time frame r collection, it was ready for me when I got there , everything was excellent

Notice, those people no longer use food hub so please be aware as I put an order in on the food hub this evening they took the money and we have no order so no food from the chippy tonight for us. There was no notice that they have stopped using food hub and they have their own website that people should use. Please tells us why there is no notice of this happening? This was a horrible experience tonight as normally it is a good service but tonight it was not very good at all I have never found the service so terrible until tonight.

Friendly and excellent price and portion size. Food is very good. Yes, you will have to wait as it's cooked fresh but it's definitely worth it.

This is a photo of a 'regular' chips portion. This is a disgrace of a portion it wouldn't feed a small child. Apparently the excuse was cutting portion sizes. I don't remember this being advertised anywhere. We would've ordered more otherwise. Customer service is lacking when trying to sort it too. Honestly disappointed

Best Fish and Chips in Town. I arrived straight at opening time, do not expect fast, as the signs say, "cooked to order" no dried up chips or fish, just freshly cooked for you, good food is always worth waiting for. Not greasy and a good amount of chips and really lovely. Friendly guy that works there and good prices. Always lovely and clean too. Will always come back to this Chippy.

The best fish and chips I’ve had in years and I used to live 5 minutes away from the sea. Lovely crispy fish and not at all greasy. This was my first visit and I’m looking forward to getting it again. Very generous portion size too. 6 Stars

Like to go here on a Friday for the classic fish and chips Friday. Great size portion of chips, medium enough to feed the 3 of us. Sometimes, as a treat, we might even get a cheeky battered Mars bar or pineapple. Defo our go-to chip shop in Gill.

Can be quite busy. But cheerfull staff every time. Open most days ( except Sundays ) and prices are reasonable ...clean and easily accessible

We have had chippies from here twice now and they have been freshly cooked both times! Crunchy but soft in the middle and very generous portion sizes. The best chips I've had!

Giving this a 4 as the fish was a bit dry. I really wanted to give a 5 as the staff are very friendly and this is a really good traditional feeling chippy. Recommend anyway, does the job.

This chip shop is amazing. Great service and excellent value for money. Food is cooked to order, cannot fault it.

The only two places I've had better were in seaside towns with access to same day caught fish and they were triple the price for half the portion size. Unless you fancy nipping hundreds of miles to Whitby this place is the best option.

Freshly cooked and worth the wait.

Ordered online with a message saying food would be ready in 15 minutes. When I arrived I had a good half hour wait. There seems to be no advantage in ordering online and you have to wait behind people who are arriving on spec. I paid a 50p service change online but wondered if why?

Great food but preorder as ques can get big

Depending on how big a Gannett you are I reckon a large cod & a small chips would easily feed two people here making it great value because it's cooked beautifully every time and tastes spot on without any greasiness & nicely done chips & batter to boot . The guy didn't get my Pea fritter ? Only be that big joke but hey you can't have everything & they're all lovely folks in here . Oh & the pea fritter is actually massive , it's a flat one which is unique & about the size of a football pitch .I like it so much I haven't tried the other fish bar yet cuz when the yearning strikes it's here I go . Yum !
