Severn Gorge in Telford and Wrekin

I have coeliac disease and ordered a carvery. The gentleman who served us was incredible by going above and beyond to ensure that my meal was safely gluten free. We will definitely visit again and cannot recommend this restaurant/ pub more highly

Great food and staff would 100% recommend

Went to the Severn Gorge for a birthday meal. Lewis, Chris and John made us very welcome. Great service and the carvery was excellent. The fact that they are a dog friendly establishment makes everything perfect. We will visit again soon.

Food was ok, even though they had run out of the wine I would have liked with my meal. The biggest disappointment was that the bar staff thought it was OK to ask me for a tip on the card machine, after they served me just 2 drinks

It was out dirst time visiting as a group of 6 (4 adults and 2 children). The food arrived promptly and was delicious, we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you to Dan and Aida for preparing such Delicous and fresh food and thank you to Gavin and the other staff for such good service. We will definitely be returning.

Food was excellent as always, staff were polite and attentive and fussed over our dog as well.

We visited on the wednesday 1st Jan for a new years festive carvery. We were served by Gavin at the till who was very friendly and polite. Our carvery’s were 10/10 great options for my mum who is a vegetarian ⭐️⭐️ big thankyou to Jack carver for great food as always! & Chef Kate 🫶🏼 Excellent customer service provided by everyone and all Went above and beyond and will definitely be returning. The meal was delicious. Staff were run of there feet but very polite, service a bit slow but overall had a really good experience and will definitely book for next year. Well done 👏

We decided to have our Christmas meal here again this year, as we had such a lovely time in 2023. Again we had a lovely experience and the meal was just as nice as last year. I am not the best with IT and didnt really get the orders right for my party, but Elaine was super efficient and sorted it for us. Gavin the manager couldnt do enough to help and made my mother in laws day by being so lovely and having a laugh with her. Tim the carver was so helpful with the hot plates and lovely to all our party when we were at the carvery stand. I would also like to say a big thank you to Dan the chef and Maddie for our lovely meals and very well presented deserts. We dont get to have many family time since my husband became severley disabled, so it is important to us to enjoy the time we can spend together. You dont get many venues who are so willing to help you make positive memories, but this year is one we will take into the new year and hold dear. Thank you all for making our Christmas, see you next year.

Everything was great. We had a group of 14 and our food was ready as soon as we arrived. I emailed ahead to ask and they happily accommodated my request.

Booked a meal for 10 and the servers were lovely, served by Gavin and Chris both extremely friendly and patient considering how many of us were there. meals from aida and John both extremely friendly and bubbly carvery was the best I’ve had yet especially the mash! don’t usually get pudding but the cakes looked amazing and tasted even better than they looked served by Maddison 10/10 all around everyone was so chuffed Thankyou!

I visited today Friday 29th March 2024 with 2 others. The atmosphere was calm and relaxed and non rushed. The food was beautiful and you are definitely full up at the end. BIG SHOUT OUT TO THE CHEF Evan The Staff are fabulous and very polite and helpful. Chris is the host is very attentive and shows care to customers checking and making sure you are fine. Amelia the waitress is also lovely All staff are very hard working and doing a fantastic job. Compliments to everyone and thank you for an enjoyable experience. I recommend to anyone looking for a fabulous eating place.

I have been to the Severn George, several times. On every occasion, my husband mentioned that I have a food allergy, the staff there was brilliant. Especially Amelia, Jack, Kate and I think the other person was Gavin. Having been to other restaurants where my food allergy did not seem to be taken seriously The time and attention to detail was wonderful, as well as the carvery we had which there was a good choice of vegetables.

Food was appalling for the rice service was crap to say the least at least the eating area was cleaned when asked as we arrived to a dirty table that hadn't been cleaned and the place wasn't even busy... Guess that kinda speaks for itself wish we turned around and walked away after that tbh... Will not be returning

This pub was very nice when it first opened but not so much now. The staff are very nice but there are always uncleared tables and it doesn't feel very clean.

The food was excellent, great choice,well cooked(thank you jack), and really tasty vegetarian option of cauliflower cheese tart. We had a party of 6, and Chris, Gav and Laney (I think that is his name), could not have done more to look after us. They went out of their way with our rather complicated order, splitting the bill, making sure all correct, and what we wanted. They were extremely attentive, and the service and welcome we received were exceptional. We will definitely be rerurning, and recommending the Severn Gorge ❤

Great location, took my grandfather for 93rd birthday meal as was visiting. Gavin, Chris and Kate the chef were great. Food was excellent and will visit again.

The carvery is excellent but the vegetables were dry and bit tough. Christmas pudding was a bit disappointing, texture and the sauce doesn't cut it.

Excellent allergen process, better than Toby for a carvery and the service from John on the carvery was excellent And the bar staff Elaine and Lewis had good knowledge of allergens and was friendly all around

This is a pub in a national chain in a busy town yet today friends and I felt we were the only customers because the staff were so good. Amelia welcomed us, took our orders and looked after us so attentively and cheerfully. Chef Kate served the meats for our carvery again cheerfully and helpfully. Both ladies made us feel valued customers. The food was excellent in all respects. Care was taken. My wife commented that it was nice, and unusual, for the lime juice not just to be at the bottom of her drink. Simple, but makes the difference. Thank you for a lovely experience.

The food was really nice and good portions for the price. The ladies toilets wasn’t very clean.

Despite being busy and our booked table being taken by someone else, Gavin had a table cleared and ready in less than a minute. There was a huge variety of veg and it was all hot and fresh. The beef and gammon were delicious. We would have opted for a cake too but was absolutely stuffed. Probably one of the best carveries I've had in a very long time. Shout out to Kate and Tim in the kitchen! Will be recommending!

Booked a table for 4 today for lunch,to take mum's out for Christmas, busy when arrived,but served quickly and shown to our table,very pleasant staff,all of them,served by Elaine and the team, couldn't do enough for you,tim served us on the carvery,great portions and all fresh and hot, beautiful carvery, dessert,s excellent too, definitely recommend, lovely roast lunch,the pub is clean and comfortable,the staff work very hard , well done 👍

Excellent meal, the food was fresh and a huge variety of veg. The best Turkey I've had in a long time. Compliments to Tim and Kate in the kitchen for a fab meal. Gavin sorted us out with a table very quickly and was super friendly. 100% recommend

We're a group of friends who used to work together and now meet up for "ladies that lunch". We have been to the Severn Gorge several times now and this time booked the festive menu. Very good it was too food and service - as someone famous says --"We'll be back"!

We ordered a mixture of carvery and meals off the main menu and Dan and Aide in the kitchen were quick to serve the alternate meals from the carvery to an excellent standard. Service at the bar was quick and efficient from Chris and service in the restaurant area was really friendly and welcoming from Gavin. Over all super service, food and atmosphere and would recommend.

Absolutely amazing me and my partner visited for our 7 months anniversary the service was amazing had a great server she was absolutely amazing very polite and smiley. We both went for a large carvery which was very cheap. We absolutely loved the food it was amazing. Definitely recommend for family and friends. Definitely returning.

We came here for food on Saturday and had to say we were really impressed, 2 of us had meals from the menu, the other 2 of us had a carvery which was beautiful, they also have a dog carvery bowl which our big girl loves every time we come here. I love that it is so dog friendly and have dog meal options as she is part of the family, it makes it easier to go out for meals without leaving her at home. Special mention to Jack and Aide who cooked all the food and Gavin who served us at the bar. We will be coming back very soon!

We came in today for a carvery and were worried due to one of our party having a nut allergy. These worries soon disappeared thanks to Lewis and his service. He guided us to the online menu and we saw the allergy filter and decided on a carvery. When we went to the carvery Tim did a two stage clean and replaced all of the utensils on deck this made us feel at ease and we will definitely be back soon for another meal.

I've been to the Severn Gorge many times over the years and have supported the individuals I work with to eat there also. Whenever we go, the staff (Lewis in particular) always go out of their way to make sure that we are accommodated and nothing is too much trouble. Thankyou!

We came on a Sunday and was accommodated with a table enough though we hadn't booked,I.was especially impressed by the young man who served us I believe his name is Lewis he was very charming polite and recommended us to.new drinks we hadn't tried before was nice to have a friendly face behind a bar food was good too thanks

Food is always reasonable, both in terms of quality and price. Great for a hastily decided meal out if you can't be bothered to cook.

It was a nice easy pub dinner, tried BBQ cauliflower wings for the first time and would have again!! We have now been multiple times and I decided to update this review. This is now our go to Sunday roast spot as the food is so good! Tim was our carvery and the food was incredible this evening!

Four of us ate out. The food was great and service fab. Would recommend. We had 4 mains and drinks £60 which I thought was really reasonable.

Welcoming staff on arrival Gavin helped with signing car in at the bar. Service from was very friendly. The chef did a lovely hot meal and Chis cleared the plates after meal finished without me feeling rushed

First impression count and being greeted and served by Lewis was fun and welcoming he’s a credit to the Severn gorge. The food was nice just a little cold (but you wouldn’t expect it to be hot being a carvery) flavour and voice was great, the server jack was good and sociable too

What can I say popped in for a meal on Saturday greeted with a smile from a friendly barmen named Lewis took our order made sure all was ok. Even spent time with our little dog to make sure he was comfortable. Food was served quickly was hot and good valve . Good value for money food could be hotter, I'm put off the beef as always too tough,but the turkey and gammon is very nice,I suggest booking table at least one week in advance,also pigs in blankets too expensive for what they are.

Didn't eat but carvery looked great

We had a great server who took us to our pre-booked table, which was able to fit four adults, two babies and an assistance dog. The food was delicious and we all had the carvery. The server was also happy to turn down the music as I’m DeafBlind so loud music makes it even more difficult for me to hold a conversation with others. Had a fantastic time!

I don’t often leave reviews for casual dining, but it’s just fab for a cheap meal out, their understanding and consideration for allergies especially when it comes to the cavery. Staff are so lovely and clean up after us even though our baby made a mess. Team are all really sweet.

Friendly staff, fast service and great food for a good price. John was very accommodating for our needs, and Elaine was very friendly too.

Birthday meal, some very picky children and adults , usually a recipe for disaster. However the amazing staff at the Severn Gorge went above and beyond to help us. The food was hot , cooked to perfection and devoured by even the picky eaters, we had a wide variety of meals too, from a mega mixed grill, to a Mac and cheese. There was not a scrap of food left on any plate. Compliments to the chef Dan. The staff who served us ,Lewis and Madison was very friendly, helpful and funny. Helping me find a non alcoholic drink 🤣 but I think the one thing I did notice was the staff WASN'T in your face every 5 minutes asking if everything was ok, or hurrying you along, this was amazing and was the reason we spent almost 2 hours there. Great food, great staff, would highly recommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Our family was served by Madison who saw to our needs well. The food was very tasty, with good sized portions. We'll be back to visit the restaurant in the future.
