Best Indian takeaway in the area without doubt and beats the local restaurants too. Always good food, excellent service. Highly recommend.

Great food every time. Cracking nan breads done properly in a tandoori oven. Curry's are excellent too. I'd recommend the murghai massala.

My Mum decided she wanted curry for her birthday,4 adults and 3 kids. Fabulous food yet again, very timely delivery and food was pipping hot. even my fussy daughters and neice absolutely loved everything. all the curry's and dishes where extremely flavoursome and didn't have the overwhelming just spice in any of the dishes, the naan breads and onion barjis where spot on and delicious. would 100% recommend having food from here

Absolutely 5 star across the board. We ordered food which was delivered and sadly we received a wrong item. Rang and they remade the whole order and re delivered within minutes the correct order of piping hot food which was delicious as always. Cannot recommend enough. 5 star food and 5 star service. My family and I have just had what we all agreed was the best Indian meal for years, from Shahnaz in Ashburton - and certainly the best onion bhajis and Peshwari Nan ever. The food was excellent (various dishes chosen between us), the portions generous and lots of chutneys, salads and raita included. The online ordering system worked without a hitch and when I phoned later to add an item I'd forgotten, the person I spoke to was friendly and helpful. It was delivered to my door on time by a driver who was also very friendly. Highly recommended!

had tandoori grill...lots of various meats chucked in a box...the rice was tired and dry even the poppadom was tired . sorry not for me or my wife. never again!

Our first order based on recommendations. Shahnaz website is easy to negotiate, orders can be collected or delivered and take note that it's cash on delivery. Tracking is available and was delivered within the time frame and still hot. All that would be nothing if the food didn't come up to scratch and I'm happy to say that we have eaten lovely food. The naan bread was possibly the best I've tasted and the complimentary poppadoms were a tasty bonus. I'm very impressed and will be very happy to order again.

We have been going to Shahnaz since they opened in the late nineties - there are Indian takeaways much closer but none as good. As example we had a family get together last week and ordered from Shahnaz - every person around the table praised the wonderful food. Thanks my friends, you have never let us down and the food is unrivalled.

Had a delivery From Shahnaz last night, can honestly say it was the best delivered food we have tasted in a long time, the sauces were beautiful and fragrant, the Chicken and Lamb dishes were Amazing, Side salads and sauces were gorgeous, Highly rate these guys, So friendly when you order and great delivery staff. Also amazing price.

We have been ordering deliveries fairly regularly for a couple of years. They have forgotten items such as naan bread a couple of times . Tonight I ordered a biryani and it arrived after about 1 hour 15 minutes without the vegetable curry. I rang and was first offered a refund of £5 when I said but I have a main dish that is basically not what I ordered I was offered £10 and told they are very busy and passed to a delivery driver to take the refund - he took my card details and I suggested they should take less orders and he cut me off . We paid £47 for our order and that’s their service . I’ve overlooked their sloppiness several times but if I’m paying £47 for a takeaway - I expect to get what I ordered . Check your deliveries before dispatch - it takes minutes . Sending incomplete orders is inexcusable - a biryani without the vegetable curry and a £10 refund - no . Your mistake you refund the whole dish and offer free delivery on next order .

I don’t normally write reviews straight after eating my food, however. This needed it! We are staying in Finlake Resort and fancied an Indian takeaway. We were recommended this place form one of the members of staff. Delivery was a bit delayed, however, the food was extremely hot! Staters we’re tasty and very nice, onion bajhee and mixed kebab. We ordered a two rice dishes, chips, tikka korma, chilli masala (quiet hot) and a nan. Portion size was pretty decent, I think I had 8 large pieces of chicken in my curry. Same as the wife’s. I would waste my time with any other Indian in the local area. Will be definitely ordering again.

Lovely food and honest, friendly, engaging staff. They weren't unfortunately able to deliver to where we were in the middle of Dartmoor, as it would have been during their busiest time so we collected and drove it back ourselves, after a pleasant walk around Ashburton whilst it was cooking. My wife is punjabi and I've been cooking Indian food for 40 years and we though it was decent.

After seeing recommendations on our local Facebook page decided to give them a try for a take away ( Sat 3rd June). Surprised they delivered so far away to us, must be a good 20 minutes? Well the lady who delivered was so friendly, arrived on time and the food was piping hot even over the long distance. This was very surprising the the food was lovely and good size portions. Well definitely be using again in the very near future...Oh yes, they are open 7 days a week including Bank Holidays...Bonus.

We had our meal delivered for the first time and we were very impressed with the service. Quality of food was excellent and really tasty too. My husband is super fussy and he's looking forward to having another meal soon. Portion size good and good value for money.

Not sure about the food, I paid in ordering and was told it would be 30 mins, I said make it 60 and went for a beer, came back after 60 minutes and had to wait another 30 minutes to get food! Luckily there are bins in the car park behind the Indian, I put my food in the bin and had a cheese sandwich, I will never go there again, a short drive to Totnes is worth it to get a decent curry with good service!
