Perfect pub in london!! Special thanks to Aayushi who very kindly find us a table!! This was perfect for us!! Go to drink a beer or something else and eat what you want in this pub, pleasure for sure!

Found a nice spot here to sit and have a couple of drinks. Had look through the menu, and we decided on having a bite to eat. Unfortunately the food was not up to much.

We had a bit of a wait but the pub was full and we could clearly see the intense activity of the staff. Everything arrived at the same time, hot and super good! The fish was super crispy. It was exactly what we wanted. A good time, in a typical English pub setting and a signature dish!

Big cosy pub ok for a.drink but don't eat there. We ordered four meals and they were all inedible. Worst.meals.we have ever eaten.

Food was bad. Just bad. Sunday beef roast - two small very chewy slices of beef drained in grease. Chips were dreadful. Yorkie pudding fkat and dry. Disappointing. Do not recommend on your worst day!

Great team, tasty xmas food selection, mulled wine and big selection of gins and beers. Traditional British pub where you feel welcome. Tastefully decorated for Christmas with hidden cellar bar.

Utterly flat lager at 'through the roof' prices..service OK.. not sure why they have bouncers coming round giving 20 minutes to leave when anyone(but especially mates of staff)get served 40 minutes plus after...this occurs every single time I come in..60 odd visits at a guess I've put in and I'm out and gone by all of em each time

The pub is lovely but they serve the worst Sunday Roast I have ever had!

Easy to access and quick with bringing out food out. Staff checked twice that all was ok. Good menu selection and the prices are fair for the area. I clearly had cash in my hand to pay and this was totally ignored by the person taking my order - either robotic with what they do or just could not be bothered to converse as to whether they take cash or not.

One of the best pubs in Westminster. Excellent fish and chips and draft beers. Super characteristic environment. If you want classic British food, this is the right place.

They gave me a voucher for a 2 for 1 beer, but when I came back it didn't work according to them. All the terms were fine, but the guy just shrugged it off and said it didn't work.

Did not have food, nice large pud/sport bar, plenty of room, good choice of beer. I found it too noisy, but that's not the pubs fault

My partner said the beer was ok & a lot of choice but the food was terrible. He had the pie & it was all grissle & fat & I had Mac and cheese which was tasteless. Would not eat here again

Strange place for a pub in a tunnel under waterloo station,no natural light,it was ok,not for claustrophobics.

I would like to thank the staff at The Shakespeare for being so patient when helping me with a group of French visitors who did not speak much English. The service was very good, food tasty and not badly priced for the centre of London.

Refused entry by a rude doorman who, while sucking on a cigarette, told us "bookings only" I won't bother trying this one again.

Nice pub in the heart of London

We were in London for a day, and had the great fortune of choosing a stop for supper at the Shakespeare. Great atmosphere, food was tasty and the sticky pudding was the best I’ve ever tasted.

We came here to try British pub food and were not disappointed! Had the Fish and Chips, and tried the Sticky Toffee Pudding, which was the best dessert we've had in a long time! We recommend coming here just for the pudding!

Good pub grub, two gin and tonics, two main courses and a bottle of wine for £85 plus tip. Quite noisy inside, perhaps acoustics need tweaked. Perfectly acceptable

During our stay in London, we have enjoyed eating numerous times at the pub Shakespeare, where the atmosphere is friendly and fun. The food is great and the service has been wonderful!

Don't waste your time on the flat iron steak. It's sinewy, overcooked like shoe leather. It's also about 1/3 the size you're expecting and comes with 11 French fries in a tiny cup. My review is of the food only. Atmosphere and beer are good.

Fresh off Gatwick Express, this was my inaugural London Pub experience 😀 A sympathetic bar goddess explained the ropes…1) Buy a drink at bar…2) find a free table and note the number…3) review menu…4) leave drink and coat at table and go back to bar and order food with the table number…5) Sit back down and make friends…6) Food arrives…7) Repeat as necessary. This lesson worked at most pubs there after…but The Shakespeare was my first kiss ❤️ Food and drinks were excellent.

The macaroni and cheese was gummy and sticky. The garden salad was sparse and the "crispy fried potatoes to share" were neither fried, crispy or shareable. Ordering was a pain and the only available water came from a lemon water station in a corner. I guess it lived up to the Shakespeare name as it was a comedy of errors all night.

This is the first time I've met someone where sharers are just a plate of chicken, not any ads like the bread or chips. Very meagre food.

This place never ceases to amaze me. Given it's a tourist trap, standards are always maintained. Good quality beers, food and service every time.

It's OK. Very busy pub with ok standard of food, OK service and OK decor even though the toilets were not in use when I last visited and the disabled was being used instead which as you may imagine led to a few waiting times and the toilet was not in the best of states. Good selection of beer.

Fantastic selection of gins plus beers on tap. Steak pie is tasty too. Will be returning.

I always knew that the cleanliness of the toilets says a lot about the kitchen. Let's just say it was pretty gross in the toilets. Thick mold on the sink.... it made me upset and I didn't eat my Hamburger, which was undercooked what's more. We didn't go back there. Barman who took the order, unfriendly.

Diksha was awesome! Definitely recommend, 10/10! Fish and Chips were crispy and salty, the steak and ale pie was hardy and rich. Cant ask for anything better!

If you’re looking for a basic bar food with a very pleasant atmosphere, this place might fit your bill.

On arrival placed order online, seemed like 15 minutes so sign of our drinks, asked a member of staff what’s happening eventually got them, then our food arrived fish & chips was tasty sadly I think was approximately 6 chips on the plate, my niece had the steak & ale pie this was huge. But when she started to eat it she found 3 tiny pieces of meat 2 were to hard to chew, when we complained we was given a refund for that meal, overall though not happy

Visited The Shakespeare for dinner tonight and definite 5 stars. Rob the Barman was friendly, welcoming , professional and gave generally a great service . John/Jon was our waiter and again he was friendly,welcoming & gave a great service.Nothing was too much and the service was so quick.There was no rushing or pestering either which made for a relaxed enjoyable night. The food was delicious and great portion sizes. I had the steak pie - most places give you meat,gravy and a slice of pastry - this however was a proper solid delicious pie packed with so much flavor,the meat was tender & the pastry was beautiful. The same with the lemon tart - yum. Thank you Rob & thank you Jon

This pub is amazing! Im from America and had issues with directions and charging my phone . They helped me out while I ate and relaxed. Vidhi was my server an was super sweet and very helpful. The music is spot on too. If your looking for a good pub experience in London next to Victoria station this is your spot! Authentic food and good selection of drinks. I'll definitely be back!

Really good fish and chips. Sausage was bad, but the Japanese chicken was good.

Excellent Guinness poured by the very competent and professional bartender whose name we found was Bedir. 10/10 would come again!

Food was great, so was the cider.
