We went to Shendish Manor for our staff Christmas party. It was so cold inside the building that we had to keep our coats on. We complained to the staff who appeared unable to do anything about it. The food was average but the venue was very short staffed and overall it was a disappointing evening. I would not recommend Shendish Manor for any group event or wedding. The management don’t seem to care or want constructive feedback.

The Restuarant and the food was really good and thoroughly recommend. The room was really dull the net curtain had a hole in it the bed was the most uncomfortable that I have slept on.

The hotel room smelt very damp. ( room39). Cleaning was also a poor standard as long black hairs on the bathroom floor. The evening meals were good and breakfast in the main restaurant was also good however due to a wedding on the Sunday morning we were moved to have breakfast in a separate room in the hotel. This breakfast was not so good with most of the food being cold to the point that people were just leaving plates with most food still on there.

Overall just really disappointed with the service! I booked up a 'Sparkling afternoon tea' for my mum's birthday. We had the same last year and it was such a great experience we have both been so excited for this visit. When we arrived we didn't have the usual warm welcome and the girl who greeted us seemed like she didn't have a clue. We got told to sit at a table with a water jug. We sat down and I then had to call the girl over and explained that I couldn't have the bubbles as I was 8.5 months pregnant and asked if I could swap mine for another type of drink. The lady said I could only swap for a soft drink and nothing else. This wasn't an issue but something different would of been nice. After around 10 mins they came and asked if we wanted tea or coffee I asked if there was a decaf option, the girl said she didn't know and went off to find out. She didn't come back to let me know but after around 15 mins she came back and said one was decaf. The member of staff just walked away not saying anything else to us. After around 20 mins she came back as asked if we had any dietary requirements I explained I was Gluten free but I had stated this at booking. She went 'o ok I will go and see'. Once again didn't come back to us and another 15-20 mins passed. They then brought the stands over and said this one is gluten free and this one is normal. But once again just left as soon as she had put it down. No one even came over during the meal to ask how the food was or to see if we needed any drinks or anything at all. After around half hour we had finished and were just left sitting there, I then walked up to the bar to ask if they had a box or anything to put some of the cakes in which we didn't manage to eat, the girl said yes and just walked of, she then returned with the box and I then put the cakes in the box. Again no one came to see us, we then decided to leave. We got up from our table and no one even approached us to ask if we was ok. We literally walked passed two members of staff and they didn't say a word. I am shocked that not one member of staff asked us how our food or even experience was. The food was fine, nothing special but it was fine but the service was so disappointing. I wouldn't expect service like this at a local pub let alone a large establishment like yourself. We were discussing booking another event but due to our experience we will be looking elsewhere.

Had a lovely stay at Shendish Manor. Great food in the Orangery restaurant, lunch on arrival, evening meal & breakfast. Room was very clean with a huge en suite. Staff very friendly and attentive. Worth a visit, well done all!

I took 23 Ladies for a one Night Break - we all had our own double rooms for single occupancy - we played a round of Golf on our arrival day and then had a superb Evening Meal in the Orangery Restaurant. Next morning we had a great full English Breakfast and then a round of Golf - finishing our break with one of Shendishes super Afternoon Tea. My Ladies are all asking when we can do it again. The Staff everywhere where fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Shendish Manor you were a real find.

I have visited before for afternoon tea which was nice but on this occasion it was very poor quality and bad value for money. The sandwiches were already a bit dry round the edges when they were served and the cakes had a mass produced artificial taste and were really not very nice. The one favourable thing was the service

Very happy with our visit, the food was superb, a proper afternoon tea, with finger sandwiches and cakes. particularly impressed that they provided our 4 year old with her own kiddy friendly selection..which of course she did not eat, because she is four and fussy! they bought her a little bowl of ice cream to tempt her which was lovely. Such nice staff, friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back there.

From start to finish we cannot thank all the waiting staff enough. They were very attentive without hovering over you. Extremely helpful and friendly and made you feel welcome and special. The food was first class, eleven clean plates !! The table layouts and settings were also excellent and you really felt you were in a very expensive hotel. The value for money on Boxing Day was second to none.

Arrived at the hotel which is a stunning Manor House in beautiful grounds. Plenty of free parking in the grounds and disabled access right outside. Swift check in with polite and helpful reception staff. Our room was huge, very clean and in keeping. Plenty of towels and toiletries changed daily which was great. Extra pillows in wardrobe and the bedding was immaculate!! Comfy bed. I always check the bed mattress and under blankets and they were pristine! Breakfast was cooked buffet style, nice local produce with plenty of hot drink options. The dining area was clean with nice decor and waiting staff helpful. We ordered a lovely afternoon tea for two but would easily have fed 4 people, was lovely and lots of it! The only thing I would say that needs a little attention is the in room heating system, which appears to be air con. Takes a while to get going and seems only to blow warm air in the evenings when switched on. However, we didn’t need to ask as our room was fairly warm anyway. No doubt staff would have been very helpful if we asked for support. In all a great place to stay and we would certainly return again.

We hosted a lunch for 59 at Shendish to celebrate our club's 40th anniversary. I had tried to organise the lunch on two prior dates, but the lockdown had thwarted us. Shendish were very helpful in rescheduling so that we could make the event happen, and very cooperative in accommodating our wishes. We had a private suite with its own bar and foyer area, and then access to the lovely gardens afterwards, even though the rain stopped us enjoying those gardens as much as we might have. The food was really excellent, which was the general opinion of all the guests. Service was willing and generally good. There was the odd wrinkle, but minor and not very visible to the guests. The room was nice and light, with direct access to the gardens. I would definitely consider Shendish for a future event.

Dinner was presented well and tasty , I recommend the sea bass . I was surprised to see quite a few tables occupied as it was a Tuesday night but this might be because lockdown restrictions had been lifted .but , despite this , staff coped very well and were very efficient .

My daughter and I enjoyed a birthday celebration afternoon tea. The scones, fruit and plain were particularly good , with an assortment of sandwiches and mini cakes. Plus an extra treat of a yummy , complimentary, chocolate mousse on a plate iced with”Happy Birthday”. A very nice touch.

We enjoyed a leisurely dinner with family and friends in an oak outdoor pod. Lovely to have space to relax and enjoy the food alongside conversation. Our waiter was upbeat, helpful and friendly even bringing our food with a smile in the rain! Great flavours and good choice to suit all tastes. We will be back!

Booked table for 4 for birthday dinner, after a recomendatio. no greeter to show us where our table was, tried to asked a waitress who was too busy to stop, bingo going on as well as loud music, not a great start, barman showed us table in the end, who was helpful throughout re allegies etc. I had the steak and venison pie which was good, the same couldn't be said of the veg, which appeared to have been left under a heat lamp too long and was rubbery, you could pick the mash up in one lump but what was really disappointing was dogs yapping and barking throughout. why are dogs allowed in restaurant. First visit, won't be returning.
