Had heard good things about the food here. Disappointed to say the least. Soft bread not even toasted with chicken parfait starter & 3 small scallops starter. The prawns & chicken starter were not bad. The sea bass & pork belly mains were good. The dauphinois potato was a square lump which looked more like a lump of bread pudding. Was really looking forward to the monkfish but was very disappointed as it was overcooked & dry. The new potatoes were undercooked. One of us had the trio of desserts which included a creme brûlée which was the same size a creme brûlée ordered on its own. They were runny and really nothing like a classic creme brûlée. Waiter was pleasant but service could have been more attentive. It was not packed or particularly busy for a Saturday night so not sure what it would be like on a busier evening. Side note - when I let the waiter know about the monkfish this was deducted from our bill but even so for over £220 including drinks sadly this was not a memorable meal.

The food options are varied, my burger with it's filling was GF however the bap sadly was not, but that was my choice to keep it on. Service was brilliant, with friendly attentive staff. The added bonus was that my wife had informed them in advance of our dietary requirements and also that it was our anniversary, the staff made us up a special desert to celebrate!

Sadly disappointed with our roasts today. Arrived and were advised the restaurant was fully booked, but we could have the same food on my of the tables in the bar. Ordered via the App & went to the bar for drinks. 2 out of the 4 just wanting tap water initially and given 2 small plastic cups to help ourselves. My husband had ordered the 2 cuts of beef & had very little sirloin & the tiniest bit of rib. Roast chicken was missing the bacon wrapped stuffing. We advised the waitress who said she'd bring more beef & the stuffing, which she did, along with more gravy. Our roasts really weren't very hot at all. Virtually cold cauliflower cheese side dish. Very few roast potatoes, but tasty, along with a roasted carrot & parsnip. Green veg (peas, leek, kale i think) pretty strong flavour & Al dente. It was early eve, so not that busy at this point, so very disappointing, especially at £19-£21 a roast!

Went on the weekend with my daughter (as we have recently moved to the area). Only popped in for a coffee on sunday morning and the place was really quiet. We were seated outside and i then went in to order. I asked the bar maid for a list of their coffees only to be bluntly told 'we are not a coffee shop'. Ok i am well aware of this but having frequented many a pub in my time they all serve various hot drinks. I did say is there not a drinks menu but i might as well have been speaking another language. Finally after some searching, said drinks menu was found with various coffees, syrups, teas etc listed on there. The bar maids tone was still rather rude and dismissive. She said she had never been asked that question before which i find astounding. The elderly couple in front of me waiting to be seated were met with the same tone and for an upmarket place i was very disappointed. I was also told to take my umbrella down as it was too windy. I get health and safety but why not remove them. Mine was actually broken to. There were others trying to put them up so i wasnt alone. I wont be coming again. Rude, unhelpful and not inviting at all. Why not just say, oh im sorry i dont know but i will find out for you'. No need at all for rudeness. It was such a happy occasion having just moved here and now its tainted my experience.

I really nice pub on the Harbour in Lymington. I just had a passing visit on my way to a hotel. The chap serving behind the bar was fantastic! He went the extra mile with an elderly gentleman who had allergies whilst I was there. He even read out what allergens were in each meal to make sure the customer was completely catered for. Service was good Food was not good at all. Only meal that was good was my daughter’s fish and chips. My other daughter’s kids pasta had an awful thick pasta sauce on it and didn’t come with any veg sticks. Which it said it was served with on the menu. My husband had a burger and paid extra for mushrooms and bacon which was literally one slice of bacon and 3 slices of mushrooms! The worst though was the duck noodle salad which was basically a bowl of noddles, hardly any vegetables and wasn’t presented well all at and then smothered in sweet chilli sauce which tasted like it came straight out of a supermarket bottle. I was told by the waitress this is one of their most popular dishes! For the price that we paid and considering the service was good, the food really let it down.

Decent food but we waited far too long for it! We were a large party of 8 who ate there today, and despite waiting almost 90 mins for our starters to come out, they still put a £30 service charge on the bill! It really should have been left off, or we should’ve at least been offered a complementary drink. We didn’t get so much as an apology. Those in charge should seriously have a rethink on their customer service strategy.

We arrived for Sunday lunch, the waitress quickly said she’d clear the table, she cleared half and said she’d come back, she didn’t. I ordered 2 Line caught Cod and chips, one with normal peas and asked if the table could be cleared. Eventually I asked a passing waitress to do it, she did most and went. We then had to stop another to wipe all the food off the table and she literally just did our side and left the remaining glasses and other side. When the food finally arrived, my wife pealed off the batter from the fish (she’s trying to diet) and without a word of a lie, the amount of Cod hiding in the middle was smaller than my IPhone and about as thick!! The did change it but I couldn’t be bothered with mine as I knew the replacement wouldn’t be much different, it wasn’t. Very disappointed and possibly the worst Fish and chips I’ve ever had! Total waste of money and would not return on another visit

An epically mediocre pub, poorly staffed (the staff themselves were doing the best they could be clearly they were spread far too thinly), a reliance - nay, insistence - on ordering by app and at least one truly hilarious dish: the 'charcuterie platter' which was two types (just about) of ham straight from a packet and covered in a bizarre mix of grated cheese, picked chillies and LOTS of cucumber! I'd say avoid but I fear you're a captive audience in downtown Lymington.

The food was very nice, but the service we felt was 'lacking'. The menus were already on the table, so we were not informed that there was a range of specials available, but this was not apparent when we ordered. My wife walked up to the bar to get some drinks, and was immediately told to go and sit down, and we'll take your drinks order, but we couldn't choose from what may of been at the bar! Don't even ask about Mocktails! "No we don't do those!" 😞 The specials only came to light when we had to go and locate a member of staff to take our sweet order! These were on little black boards on the wall near where you come in. The atmosphere was ok due to the lack of interaction from the staff.

Beautiful surroundings, amazing food and service Our family had the absolute pleasure of dining at the pub where Chef Lucian works on Christmas Eve, and it was an experience we’ll treasure forever. The pub itself is absolutely beautiful—cozy and warm, with a charming fireplace that created the perfect festive atmosphere for the evening. Each dish we tried was a masterpiece, beautifully crafted and bursting with flavor. I opted for the skate wing, which was cooked to perfection—delicate, tender, and paired with flavors that complemented it beautifully. My father had the turkey, which was moist, flavorful, and served with all the traditional trimmings, elevated to fine dining status. My mum enjoyed the braised beef, which was melt-in-the-mouth tender with a rich, savory sauce that was pure indulgence. My husband couldn’t stop raving about his chicken with saffron risotto, a dish that perfectly balanced hearty comfort and sophisticated elegance. Not only was the food incredible, but the service and atmosphere were equally outstanding. Lucian’s wife, Annie, who manages the pub, impressed us with her impeccable organizational skills and genuine politeness. She ensured everything ran seamlessly, creating a welcoming and relaxed environment for everyone. It was inspiring to see such a hardworking and talented duo at the helm. This was truly one of the best Christmas Eve dinners we’ve ever had. Between the incredible food, the inviting atmosphere of the pub, and the warmth and professionalism of the team, it was an unforgettable experience. We’re already looking forward to returning for more of Chef Lucian’s culinary brilliance and Annie’s exceptional hospitality. Thank you both for making our evening so special! ❤️

A nice place and the food was well cooked with reasonable sized portions, albeit a bit expensive. Be mindful if you park in the Waitrose car park directly next to the restraunt because you will get a ticket if you stay for more than 2 hours, even in the evening, which is ridiculous.
