Bonito ambiente, amable y la comida era excelente, todos teníamos diferentes platos y me llené para el Cordero Jalfrezi que era excelente. Personal muy servicial y muy atento, una experiencia gastronómica muy agradable.

This is the only curry house I go to. Always reliable, the curry is very tasty and their staff are really nice too. Top marks!

Another amazing meal at shish mahal, always great food and service. The food is always so fresh and tasty. The only issue I do have is that the glasses of coke are served from a warm 2L bottle and are often flat. It would be better to have either individual cans or glass bottles.

This is one of my absolute fave locals and will always recommend coming here!! Make this a must visit!

Very good as always. We have been coming here for many years. The staff are so friendly. Try the tandoori king prawns. Delicious! The saag bhaji is always good.

Took our son for his first birthday, the food was great, and I am really picky with my curries. I had the Bombay badboy and it was fresh spicy and lamb fell apart. Highly recommend, and the waitress was great with our son and made it feel special

totally pathetic service. Not recommended. They will not allow the coke from outside by saying that please buy coke from us worth 3£. Staff was also rude. Dont ever go to this place

Went with a friend yesterday afternoon and was really impressed. Staff was very attentive and food was great. Portions very large and we are good eaters. This spot has been added to our list of places to go to.

We had a takeaway. Good and prompt service but the food was disappointing, sadly. It was the blandest Indian takeaway I've had in a long time, to the extent that it had me questioning whether I'd developed a cold that was impairing my taste buds!

So I got a leaflet yesterday with their menu, saw the Hygiene Rating 5 out of 5 and since I LOVE the Indian cuisine I gave it a try. I ordered 3 things, but even got something extra and price reduced, which was very kind. Delivery was way quicker than a usual delivery when ordering through Deliveroo,justeat etc. I simply called them, told them what I’d like and paid with cash when my food arrived. (Which took less than 20 mins). Food was DELICIOUS and there was a LOT of it. I definitely recommend this place, either to visit (even though I haven’t been there yet) or to just order from them, as the food is fantastic.

My boyfriend and I had dinner here on the evening of 3 May. We were very pleasantly surprised. The food was amazing. We ordered some starters & main courses. Our orders arrived quickly & the food was so nice. We will definitely return. We recommend this for madras & vegetarian curries in particular. Lovely atmosphere in here too. Friendly staff. I love the dim lighting. Five out of five from us. We recommend it!!

Not sure if management has changed but previously very good- ordered takeaway at beginning of December with family- had to call after 90 mins as no food - then arrived after another 20 minutes - 2 meals were stone cold to touch? Very bad- tried again NYE to eat in - restaurant empty , very overpriced fixed menu that we were not told about when we booked and not great service . We left and sadly will not return of using for 20 years

Worst place I have ever been in my life please don’t visit, waiting time is around 30 - 45 mins. The food menu is also not clear, food has more oil to it than taste and the staff were decent but not proactive. My review : -3/5

Had a few takeaways from this place, which were excellent, so decided to visit the restaurant on my daughter's birthday. Everyone was most impressed by the food. Both the Tandoori and the curries were cooked to perfection. The service was attentive but unintrusive. My family and I will be going here again.

Booked a table on NYE we were not told it was a set menu or price over the phone but told as we sat down - £39.99 each for 4 items plus a glass of Prosecco. Plus some poor singing . We were a bit upset as this is a lot more than menu price but too late too change plans . Ordered food - 2 of the group didn’t like the drink - starter each , main and side - no 4th rice or bread offered so assumed it would just be given . Food delivered no rice or bread so basically paid £39.99 for about £15.00 worth of food . Only 1 other table as stated by staff everyone else cancelled - not surprised. Not sure if changed owners but really gone down hill- takeaway 2 weeks ago also bad - waited almost 2 hours , several calls and cold food when delivered . Really sad but won’t use again after 20 years loyalty as a customer x

Visited the restaurant on recommendation of a friend. I cant thank enough the staff for their service and attentiveness . The staff were welcoming and also helped us to choose the food menu according to our taste. We ordered few curries and non veg starters .They were fresh and delicious . We would definitely visit again.

We had an annual reading group Christmas meal. Only 9 of us thus year - two cry-offs bec of Covid. As always, food arrived on time and was delicious. For first time we tried a special - the Napoleon Balti - and it was well worth it. We recommend the Shish Mahal.

Restaurant keeps pestering me with text messages about their offers. I moved out of Leyton years ago. Sent multiple STOP requests to opt out, but these appear as undelivered. Cannot block number as generated on internet. No email in “contact us” section.

The chicken Jalfrezi not even enough sauce inside box .This issue has been highlighted and last time it was okay but something has gone wrong again ! The dhaka Dhal container is less than half full .This is not right .Normally it has been full to the top for regular portion .This portion is very low . I ordered the food on Tuesday due to the discount ,but actually need the food for Wednesday which I am.saving .However ,I left the food out waiting for it to cool .down and as I took the food containers out if the bag ,I noticed how the level of sauce in the chicken was low ,and the lentils is less than half full .I called the restaurant just before midnight, but it was closed .So I sent a text to the delivery man from the restaurant to let him know that I need to speak to the manager . Thank you .Ms Razzaq .

This local restaurant has been a regular for us for quite a few years now. Food is always delicious and staff are friendly and attentive. We pass other more local Indian restaurants to come to the Shish Mahal because we prefer the food and atmosphere here. Always a great experience!

Honestly the best Indian food I’ve had in a while. It was very delicious and flavourful especially the paneer and biriyani..Music was great! The service was absolutely fantastic. Overall I had such a wonderful time, it was a blast. Definitely recommend everyone to go!!

I was pleasantly surprised the food was good although I felt the meat portions could be slightly more. The staff were extremely helpful regarding my nut and mushroom allergy. Overall this is good value and would use again and recommend.

We really enjoyed our meal here one Friday night. The food is traditional British Indian if you get what I mean. Portions are about right, sauces are not too sloppy and are nicely spiced. No rogue vegetables such as sweetcorn. Plenty of lentils in the lentil dish. Very nice chana masala. Lighting is a bit harsh (LED?) but otherwise it’s a nice atmosphere and the staff are certainly friendly without being over attentive. Highly recommended

Ive been going to this restaurant for over 10 years and decide to pop in there last night, but after seeing how much the meals and side dishes have gone up in price £12 for a normal curry with out rice, i wont be attending the place again. The food is generally good, but can be very hit and miss depends on the chef you get it seems as I’ve had fantastic curries and equally very poor curries from here. The guys who run the place are very friendly and are lovely guys. But it was the final nail in the coffin with a £4 price hike on a curry without rice and £2 price hike on a side dish. Although if you order online you get a curry for £10 rather than £12 and 10% discount
