I got some Ramen to go as well as a few sides. Definitely much better than the disaster I had at Wagamama but it was nothing to write home about. I have definitely had much better ramen bowls in the lower east side of NYC at a more affordable price. I'm convinced there's no great ramen in this city, and this is about as good as it's going to get. -sigh- I guess four stars because everything else is abysmal and this is at least decent.

A Ramen done really well. This time I chose the one with prawns and I must admit that they prepare it really well, if you are Italian and the place is not full, the head waiter is an Italian boy who likes to entertain guests with suggestions and advice. The plum wine is absolutely worth trying.

Just what I hoped for- the welcome was warm, the atmosphere functional but friendly, service was excellent and very quick. The staff took pains to explain the menu thoroughly so we didn’t feel baffled by the variety or options. The food tasted really good and the meat in my ramen dish was very tender. All reasonably priced too, for a city centre location. ♿️Access from the street is level, with plenty of room between tables. There was a women’s/access toilet but this was cluttered with a baby changing table that would make wheelchair use impossible. I’m sure they’d move it if asked, but that’s not the point. We enjoyed the visit and will definitely return

It’s quite a casual set up, nothing fancy, and really nice atmosphere. Great value for money too when it comes to food. A pint of a Japanese beer was £7.20 so on a pricey side, but the food was very reasonably priced. For two beers, two katsu curries and a mochi brownie with ice cream we paid £56.

Nice place, a bit overrated. It's good for solo dining or maybe even a date cus the place is small. Ramen was good but the sides are not as good especially the gyoza- tasted burnt. The staff was a little too pushy and chatty, the female staff in this place probably came and talked to me and my date like 10+ times throughout our course. Also didn't get the birthday desert I was hoping for. The manager I think tried to arrange it but the chatty waitress ruined by asking for something at our table which was meant to be a surprise for my boyfriend. Overall it was nice and the welcoming but can do much better.

Me and my friend who don't get to see each other often we're excited for our day out in Manchester and for them to take me to a restaurant that they remembered being some of the best kastu curry they'd found, and a really nice atmosphere where you are greeted on the way in. So I was excited. Me and my friend are into a lot of fashion, so we like to do makeup and dress up a bit interesting on our days out, but nothing insane, just bright colours and for me I'm a little more gothic, just some white and graphic liner, which I didn't think would be a problem. We waited outside where it said to for about five minutes with staff inside seeing us and ignoring us. Thinking maybe we were a bit young, we decided to step inside to show that we wanted to be seated. We again stood there for some time, confused as to why this pretty calm and not busy restaurant would not take us to a table. One of the chefs was pointing to the bar staff and waiters to come sit us but they said no, embarrassed and went into the back, so the chef had to tell us we could sit at a table that did not have any cutlery or napkins. No one came up to take our order, which we saw they did for other tables, and luckily there was the option of QR code so we got to order. The staff who came over seemed embarrassed to do their job. The manager was the one who brought over our food, where they asked how things were, and I explained that we've been ignored by the other staff. The manager and chef that seated us were nice, but everyone else was a little rude. The food was very nice, and a good portion size, it was annoying to see other guests greeted while we still didn't have napkins. There is also a mandatory 10% service charge. A little disappointing that we were treated differently because of how we looked when we just wanted to have some fun.

The food is great, the broths are incredibly rich, only drawback is a lot of the meats are separately cooked and stored and then dropped on top while plating up which i could tell as a lot of the time if meat is sticking out the non-submerged end is cold. But i don't mind that. Atmosphere is great, the drum entrance when you're seated is very cool. Only drawback is the service. It's always really slow, I've been several times with my partner, we only order 1 drink, 1 starter and 1 main each, and yet we've never been in and out in less than an hour and a half. There's just too many tables in the small unit so everything is quite slow, and then putting 10% service on top of your bill feels like a kick in the teeth. I've been a few times, it's worth checking out once, but I'm not in a rush to go back any time soon, unless they take away a couple tables to speed up the process.

It was okay… Central location, good atmosphere and service but the food lacked depth of flavour. We ordered two ramen dishes. The noodles had a good texture and were well cooked but could have been more flavourful. The same can be said for the broth; it was good but not amazing. The Karaka Tan Tan Tonkotsu needed some more salt to help enhance some of the good flavours in the dish, and the broth should have been cooked for longer to allow the flavours to develop. The Piri Piri Tonkotsu lacked depth, it had an overpowering flavour of chili peppers so some of the bone broth flavour was lost. There are certainly better ramen bowls in Manchester with more affordable prices.

On top of that, I saw the 1 table behind us; they came later and got their food before us, so I asked some waitress, and they told me that they have some missed communication. We have decided to not wait and ask for a refund. And I need to wait for 20 minutes for them to process the refund for us, and they also told us that we need to wait for 72 hours to get the money back. Came here earlier this month on a busy Friday evening. We were luckily able to get a table without a reservation. Staff were very welcoming and friendly, and went over the menu with us. I decided to have the chicken katsu curry ramen, and my partner had the pork ramen. Our food arrived pretty quickly, and we were surprised by how big a bowl full of food we got for the price! The taste was incredible, so jam packed with flavour! We also decided to get mochi ice cream. I opted for sesame mochi, and matcha mochi. My partner opted for chocolate mochi. We both enjoyed these, but think the sesame one was the nicest. Slightly pricey for what you get, but we're glad we tried it and didn't opt for more as we were very full. Very pleased we came here. We both enjoyed it very much, and will happily return when we next visit Manchester.

Better than „Kushi Tei of Tokyo“ (Düsseldorf, Germany)! Shoryu Ramen in Manchester is an absolute gem! From the moment you step in, the inviting atmosphere and chic decor make you feel right at home. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring a seamless dining experience. The ramen here is out of this world. The rich, flavorful broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and top-notch toppings come together to create a bowl of pure bliss. I particularly loved the special edition Takana Tonkotsu – the depth of flavor was simply unmatched, and the char siu pork was tender and delicious. Not only is the food exceptional, but the overall dining experience is also top-notch. The menu offers a fantastic variety, catering to all tastes, and the attention to detail in every dish is evident. Whether you're a ramen aficionado or new to this culinary delight, Shoryu Ramen is a must-visit. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy authentic, high-quality ramen in Manchester. Five stars without a doubt!

My partner and I went for dinner on a Monday evening and were seated quickly without a reservation. As first time visitors, the menu and offers were explained to us which was nice. We ordered 2 Shoryu buns (which were both delicious - some of the best we’ve ever had), and a cod katsu curry and chicken katsu curry ramen which were both very nice, and everything arrived quickly. We’ve already decided which dishes we’ll try next time - we will make good use of our loyalty card. Thank you

Everything was fine. Too bad the prices don't include taxes. It costs nothing to include them and avoid surprises when paying!

I am lactose intolerant and it's the first time ever that the waiter brings the allergen menu in order to ensure I won't have any allergic reaction. I love the way they treat their customers and it's a very warm atmosphere. I tried the karaage curry and the takoyaki it reminded me of one of the Osaka's donburi avenue I had but not as hot 🤣. I definitely recommend, the Asahi cider 🙏.

Delicious tonkotsu ramen, incredibly nice atmosphere, but the real lynchpin of how great an experience it is here is the staff. They were the friendliest and most helpful people I've had the pleasure of being served by, full of recommendations and they were especially kind when I'd lost my wallet. Altogether awesome experience, will be coming here again and again. (Once I've found my wallet)

Awful experience. Was sat down shown the menu and given some water. The waitress said she’d be over shortly to take our order. 20 mins later manager asked if we had ordered said no. He then rushed off to seat another party a further 2 parties sat down and were served straight away. Could understand if the restaurant was busy. Seemed shocked when we asked to just pay for the water and leave. Warning sign should have been two other tables complaining about the wait for food. Shame as I’d heard good things

Disappointing evening. The service was good and atmosphere of the place was nice but the food was average at best. We had such high hopes as the menu reads like a dream but had to send back a couple of dishes for being undercooked. In my opinion it's overpriced for what we received

Not the best Wagamama and a bit of a grumpy server, food was good but my steak meal was a bit overcooked and the duck Gyoza seemed oven baked, which I wasn't expecting.

Kokoro is normally amazing except yesterday I felt sick after eating a few bites so I left it for a while to eat it later on. After eating it again i ended up getting a bad stomach pain, I cut into the chicken and in the middle it was pink. It's an easy mistake since it was very busy and they may have been rushing but my stomach and anything below payed the price.
