A good choice for mid morning tea. Nicely decorated and very clean, with hand sanitiser on each table. Serves a decent cup of tea in a china tea pot. Popular with locals which is always a good sign.

On a mission to track downt he best veggie breakfast in Leamington, this was our first stop. It was busy but we found a table straight away and sat down. The decor is nice an it feels welcoming although I think the clientele might have been responsible for that, as the waiting team seemed rather harassed. If I had to sum it up, it appeared as though the regular staff had gone on strike and left the owners to it - they looked like fish out of water! But fair play to them, they served us efficiently and were pleasant if a little remote and distracted. The breakfast was good, although small, and one set of veggie sausages was better than the other (different brands). The tea was lovely and served in fine china which was pleasantly nostalgic.

My wife was keen to track this down remembering it as being good on a visit two years ago. Now called The Regent, it was a welcome oasis on a long motorway journey. They offer the same wide range of teas as previously (we chose the Earl Grey). I had the Feta and Date Quiche from the specials board and my wife selected the Chicken and Orange Salad. We both enjoyed our snacks. Covid-19 precautions were on the minimal side.

I had been taking flower photos in the nearby lovely Jephson Gardens and wanted some lunch, so I strolled up and down Regent Street to see what was on offer; the cafe, from the outside, looked just right to me. Inside, it was compact, but I liked that. The menu was good, with a specials board as well, from which I chose one of the "Tartlet of the day" options: goat's cheese and bacon, with chips and salad, and a very nice coffee. I don't normally eat a meal on my own, but some others were doing the same, so that was fine.

We stopped by for an afternoon snack and were quite pleased. The teas we chose were very nice, our first choice food was not available so a little frustrating but clearly explained that they had been far busier than usual / expected and all dealt with very well, so no big deal. The service was good, food came promptly, the soup was delicious and I would happily revisit and recommend you do also. It is a compact cafe so you will catch a draft from the open door on a chilly day when people come and go, but I did not find it a big deal,

Whilst the decor is cute (although very much like several other, better, cafes in Leamington), I was really disappointed. The tea menu looked great, I chose an option which stated it was ‘great hot or iced’ so I asked for it iced which got an incredibly rude ‘I can’t do iced, how would I do iced, it’s boiling water’ ... Pointed it out on the menu and the lady (owner) responded with ‘well I don’t print the menus’. I would’ve walked out at that point had I been alone. Went for a latte instead, which whilst nice was rather small for the price, and half foam ... Also, could see them makijg sandwiches and the cross contamination going on was incredibly worrying. They claim to be able to cater for gluten free, but I was with my mum who is coeliac and she refused to eat anything after seeing the standards of the food prep area. Think they need to rethink the use of space behind the counter as it’s chaotic.

After my daughter's swimming lesson we decided (my 2 daughters and I) to go for a quick snack. We walked past this café and decided to try it. Very quiet for a Saturday morning and so were seated immediately. The staff then advised that we could put two tables together and although his intention was pleasant his body language did seem annoyed. Anyway we seated and soon after the lady came and took our order, although my daughters weren't ready! However, they soon decided what they wanted and the lady came and finished our order. I ordered a Latte and a bacon croissant and my daughters ordered a plain chocolate with jam and a scone. My daughter who ordered the scone thought that there would be 2, but there was only one. However to make up for this, the bacon croissant that I ordered was shared with the girls, and it was agreed that this was AMAZING! We finished our snacks and drinks and paid for the meal. The café has some novelty décor and pleasant seating. Staff are pleasant but it doesn't feel natural. However, the food is good (especially bacon croissant) but slightly on the pricy side (I think). But purely for the bacon croissant I am likely to go again, and would recommend others to try it also.

Had breakfast here, which was OK [except for the toast which was apparently buttered before being cooked on a flat grill, so was actually more like fried bread]. But the coffee was the worst I've had anywhere in Leamington - I had a flat white which should have been strong, rich and creamy; instead it tasted like weak filter coffee with some hot milk. My wife's Americano was equally weak. I left my coffee untouched, which you'd expect would have the staff asking why, but sadly not here. Shame - this could be a great little business, especially at the quiet end of town. Maybe today was an off-day ... but as other reviews point out, there's no shortage of very good cafes and coffee shops in Leamington, so I'll avoid Shou Shou in future.

We must have got them on a bad day. Very Abrupt and rude man that served us. He needed to use deoderant and I find that sort of thing totally unnaceptable when dealing with food. Drinks that we had were fine but he was VERY affronted that I asked for a glass of water. I wasnt feeling well and couldnt decide if I wanted tea or a cold drink which I did order and we had ordered for the others in the group. Too many cafes to need to visit this one again. If you have a sandwich I recommend spending an extra pounds to upgrade to fries, they were delicious. The couple that run it are friendly and definitely have experience of kids in their family because there were games and books on hand for out little one to enjoy. A little thing let it down a lot. Decided to pop in for a coffee but once we saw the delicious looking food we decided to order lunch too. Ordered one salmon salad and a "goats cheese and caramalised onion tartlet". The salad was lovely, really fresh with a subtle dressing but the "tartlet" was really disappointing. It was a basic (at best), shop bought cheese and onion quiche with a slice of goats cheese and caramalised onions placed on top. The quiche had that strong onion taste associated with mass production and certainly not an ounce of quality. Not sure that can be defined as a tartlet or described as goats cheese and caramelized onion tartlet. Overall nice setting and pleasant staff. I would return but would just clarify before making an order.

Le Cafe is one of my favourite places in Leamington. I often go on a quiet weekday to sit and work and enjoy their amazing teas, and it's also ideal to meet friends for lunch or brunch. After a couple of minutes this woman literally barged to the table and in a very aggressive tone said "this table is reserved" whilst stabbing with her finger at a tiny reserved sign on the table (about the size of a business card). Obviously we hadn't noticed the card! She then stormed off behind the counter again. It was the most extraordinary behaviour from a staff member to a customer that I've probably ever seen. There were no other free tables but a couple said they were leaving shortly. We decided not to stay. Why would you spend your hard-earned money in a place that treats customers with such contempt? Especially in a place like Leamington that is literally crawling with lovely tea rooms and cafes.I don't know if this woman that was so rude to us was the owner or a manager but she seriously needs to look at some customer service training. When we left Shou Shou, we walked to another cafe called Aroma. What a find. Beautiful hot chocolate, lovely Earl Grey tea and exquisite cakes (I had lemon drizzle my friend had carrot) and, as soon as we walked in the door, we were greeted by a lovely welcoming smile by the owner. Note to Shou Shou - that's how to treat and retain customers! When I'm next in Leamington, I'll be going to Aroma. Looking at the fabulous tapas being served at other tables, I'm very much looking forward to it.

How wonderful to find a traditional cafe/ tea room offering a genuine warm welcome from the owners and their staff. Everything on offer which you would expect from such a place. Well cooked breakfast, choice of teas and coffee. Freshly made pastries. All served on old fashioned but lovely china. Everything very clean. Looking forward to many future visits when in Leamington.

Whilst visiting Leamington Spa again my wife and I popped in Shou Shou for a change to the other establishments (must be about 30 in Leamington) and found ourselves the only customers (late afternoon). Our coffee and cakes were very nice and the lady owner was very helpful and friendly and the tea shop was clean and tidy.

Found this place by chance and was given a wonderful warm welcome. The cream tea was a true delight and the tea was perfect. Presentation wise this place is lovely and the cakes looked lush. The scone was warm and the clotted cream was authentic and tasted lovely with the jam. If visit leamington again just for another visit to Shou Shou!!

Wanting a light lunch we wandered along Regent Street checking out the places we had been to before. Sadly some have vanished so we crossed over to check out Shou Shou and were glad we did.My hearty tomato soup was just that - hearty and were I to have made it would be very pleased with myself. My wife declared that her salad was lovely. I chose a Morning Breakfast Tea and it was great.Definitely worth a revisit next time we are in Leamington.

There must be more tea and coffee places that serve small bites in Leamington Spa than charity shops :)I guess they must all scratch a living or they would not all keep opening up.We first visited Shou Shou when it was previously owned, now under new ownership we felt it would be better to review it again. There is still a nice airy feel about the place, clean and nicely fitted out, there is a welcoming atmosphere due to the fact that all the tables are neatly layed out, the food display is at the far end of the shop.Good to note that the breakfast is available until 1pm -A reasonable selection of lite bites and cakes -Shame about the coffee though, looks like the coffee machine has seen better days, my cappuccino would have trading standards having something to say about it.Also a cappuccino served in a dainty tea cup is just not on.Maybe I'm just being picky but good coffee keeps the till ticking over and brings patrons coming back for more.Nice selection of cakes on display, friendly servers

This part of the street has probably the most interesting assortment of shops and is a good area to stop for a tea or coffee. There is a good selection of loose leaf teas. Also a decent choice of gluten free cakes. More substantial meals are available too. Were served by a lovely French young lady.

A lovely little tea shop, the perfect place for a cream tea or cake and coffee. It is delightfully quirky and chintzy with very pleasant, welcoming staff .It's the ideal escape from a busy afternoon - close to the centre of town. They have an incredible selection of teas [each itemised with a useful description to help you choose] so there is something for everyone.

What a little gem of a place! Popped in with my mum for tea and cake and ended up having the best Croque Madame I've ever had in the UK (I'm half French so have eaten a few!), gorgeously decorated and furnished and such wonderful service from Max the lovely waitress, will spread the word about this place and will definitely return!!

there must be at least 30 places like this in Leamington Spa, as we have never tried this place we thought we would give it a try.Shame that I was too late to try the all day breakfast but maybe next time :(Attractive interior, friendly servers, nice minimalistic menu, the place had a nice feel about it.I would like to see slightly more generous slices of cake, if this were to happen then this place would be one of my top 5 places for tea in Leamington

Dropped in here after a long morning's shopping, having looked at a fair few of the alternatives. We went in because it was an independent and reasonably priced and we weren't disappointed. Friendly service, a very pleasant atmosphere and decor and very good home-made snacks and salads. Good coffee too, in pretty vintage china cups. Definitely one to return to in future.

Good selection of food, at reasonable prices, and everything I've had there has been tasty, and well portioned. Only trouble is it's difficult to get a table unless you go early...

We rocked up with 2 large families with young children. The staff were very friendly. Most of us had hot chocolates, and they were probably the best tasting hot chocolates we've had in a long time. And very reasonably priced. Would definitely visit again and recommend.

What a lovely little cafe. We went for breakfast both days of our weekend stay and both days the staff were really friendly, the atmosphere inside was lovely and the food was cooked perfectly. Little gem on the locks.
